Staff clean rooms

The staff at the front desk were friendly and supportive. However, the place looks like it's been neglected and there was construction repair going on in the front of the hotel overhang. It looks like a truck or tractor trailer that was too high hit the bottom of the overhang in front of the hotel and it looks like it is collapsing. That's the first thing you see when driving onto the facility which is an eyesore. The hotel luggage carriers were filthy and looked like they were never cleaned. Checking in at the front desk took a long time as their computer system froze up during check in. The room itself looks like it needs some updating and a deep cleaning. The phone in the room did not work at all not even a dial tone. I complained to the front desk by calling them on my cell phone and they said engineering will come up to check it. They never came up so I unhooked the phone and brought it down to the front desk to show them. The phone finally started working but no engineer came to the room so it was probably a fix made at their communication panel. There were no hotel guests in the hotel swimming pool and it was a hot sunny day so I assume the pool is dirty as well. Hotel management needs to clean up this hotel.

All in all, the hotel was fine, but not up to what I expected from a Doubletree.

Terrific stay — the staff was incredibly friendly, the room was clean & comfortable, and the pool was lovely, even on a cloudy day. Thank you!

If I’m ever back in the area I will always choose this hotel. Everything was great. Big rooms, nice bathrooms, clean, quiet, friendly staff, nice bar, definitely impressed with the fitness area, and checking in and out was easy as can be.

It’s a nice enough hotel but every area except the lobby was clearly old and not well maintained. Hallways had a musky odor and the carpet could use a deep clean, room was clearly old and in need of renovation.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The staff was extremely friendly, the location is very accessible and within 15-30 minutes of plenty of restaurants and things to do, and the free cookies are always a plus

It started with check-in. The front desk person was one of the most unfriendly people I have encountered. Each question was like an inconvenient task to answer. In the room, the chair looked very dirty, so I took a wash cloth and started wiping it down. Gross. Then I wiped down the counters, door knobs and anything else we might touch. The wash cloth was so dirty it looked like I had cleaned a pair of dirty shoes. Then I jumped in the shower, first towel had someone’s make up marks on it. Threw that to the side and grabbed another…it was completely dirty! The lotion was empty. I can’t really say I would stay here again.

Consistent property. Front desk staff is great. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Need to replace all the plugs so they hold chargers tightly. Other reviews have mentioned this as well.

Would not allow even a 10 minute early check in without wanting an $75 extra fee. There were several waiting to check in and all had to wait til 3 on the dot which made check in chaotic and longer than necessary.

The staff that I encountered were all very welcoming and professional. My junior king suite was spacious, clean and the bed was complete.

The room was very clean. No issues. Breakfast was still hot by the time we got down there. Parking for me was easy but I can see how it might be a struggle for some. There’s quite a lot of distance between the front entrance and the parking lot. But overall, the stay was great

The afternoon/evening front desk staff (the young girl with colorful dyed hair) was very unprofessional and rude. When we checked in, she was just lounging on the guest couch in front of the front desk with her phone, she looked like we were inconvenience her for checking in, not pleasant at all. When we came back to ask another question she was just dismissed us. The same thing two days after when we asked for fresh towels since the housekeeping couldn’t clean the room because my husband is still in the room working, but it was totally our fault so its fine. But the front desk the same girl was very rude about giving us fresh towels and also for asking water bottle she said we should pay for the water, but finally she reluctantly gave us 2 bottled water.

Great location; very convenient to the highway and access to entertainment. There were a lot of pot smokers staying there when we were there.

Arrived for a work trip to find the hotel did not match the photos online- the space is quite dated &needs some updates. You could tell by the condition of the elevator, the carpets, trim etc that it hasn't had a face lift in some time. The room was pleasant enough for the stay, but had some mystery splatter stains on the ceiling. Needless to say, I chose to sleep in the opposite bed.

Unclean room. Toenail clipping on the floor....gross. Clerk was less than welcoming at check-in. Another guest was waiting 20min before clerk atrived.

The property was decent, but the elevator was outdated and the shower wasn’t as clean as I expected, I took a shower with my sock's. There were a few outside bugs coming out in the room,However, there were many shopping areas nearby.

The kid was crying in the next room.

We have had great experiences at other doubletree hotels, but this one was just barely OK. Musty smelling room, loud clanky air conditioning unit, fogged up windows the entire time, and unfriendly front desk staff made me wonder why we were paying over $300/night.

Check In was great! Front Desk Agent was friendly and sent a text to make sure I didn’t need anything. Hotel was modern and clean and room was spacious although the tub needed minor repainting. Unfortunately, I had an emergency the next morning and called down to request 30 minutes additional to check out. As a hilton honors member who has traveled all over the US and Internationally, it was disappointing that I could not even have a 15 minute grace period without being charged $50. I explained it was an unexpected delay and was still denied. Checkout was at 11:00am on a Sunday. I requested until 11:30am and was told no. It is unlikely that I will stay at a Hilton again because of this inability to provide customer service. The hotel was not sold out and there were rooms available for that evening so it is not as if they could not have accommodated. Many years ago I worked at a five diamond rated Hilton property where guest service was paramount. This went against this very concept.

The hotel is very clean and quiet. The breakfast is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty spacious and very comfortable. The gym is well equipped too.

While the lobby was perfectly acceptable, the room and hallway was very dated and in need of a refresh. The rug in our room was damp (gross) and the room smelled musty. The tub was chipped. We would not stay here again.

First time at the W-S Doubletree. I liked it. My check-in was very friendly, the check-out not so much; the woman was not friendly. The towel bin looked dirty. Towels were great however!

Beautiful property, clean room. I would book again. At one point, we entered through a side door and it must have been a smoking floor because it smelled terrible. We did not enter that way again. I would like to see the bar and restaurant open a bit later than they were.

Great stay and location close to wake forest. Our room was immaculate and Chrissy at the front desk was SO attentive and personable, we loved her! The beds were soft and comfortable and the reason I keep staying at doubletrees. A few reviews mentioned the parking lot, I have no idea why- the parking lot is safe, plenty of spaces, well lit and at no point did we ever feel remotely unsafe or bothered. The only negative we found was that the breakfast left much to be desired, I would save the $16 and instead go to Mama Zoe’s for great southern breakfast food.

The bathroom was disgusting. Urine on outside of toilet. Outside of tub and inside was dirty. Back of door had something white on it. Counter back had stuff on it. Floor was dirty. I put towels down everywhere I would walk. Not a good experience.

This is a decent place to stay the property was renovated some years back and is still in pretty decent condition. North University is just a rough neighborhood so many hotels get transients

Love the decor. Beds and pillows comfy. Online showed checkout was noon but Hilton app and counter rep said 11am.

Decent hotel, room was showing some age through. The door handle for the bathroom was loose and barely held the door closed. The room also had an older, compact toilet. Staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent with a good selection. Bar made good drinks.

Assigned to 2nd floor with disables wife and there were no rooms on first level. This only became an issue because both elevators were down/inoperable when we arrived. It was raining terribly. The second floor could only be accessed through an outdoor lengthen entranceway away from the check in area. We got soaking wet since it rained for quite some time and the elevator was down for hours. My wife recently had total knee replacement so I chose this hotel because it was endorsed by Expedia and is a Hilton hotel. The rooms was dirty and when room service was requested I tipped in advance trying to do the right thing. Turns out the garbage was missed, the toilet was not cleaned and there was replenishing soap left in the room.

The rooms or outdated and Felt like they were cutting corners at every opportunity, Not even providing sufficient towels. When cleaning the room, they did a terrible job and made the bed Over a sheet on which I had unfortunately unfortunately spilled orange soda , but instead of changing it they just pulled the cover over it. The rooms or outdated and Felt like they were cutting corners at every opportunity, Not even providing sufficient towels. When cleaning the room, they did a terrible job and made the bed Over a sheet on which I had unfortunately unfortunately spilled orange soda , but instead of changing it they just pulled the cover over it. They also did not take out the trash.

We got to the hotel at 10 pm and waited 30 minutes to get our room since the power went out. and the rest of the stay was not pleasant due to bad customer service. would not recommend this hotel.

Check in went well, we have stayed here a few times before. Never had an issue until this stay. Our room was old and musty smelling. There was no hand soap in the bathroom and just a couple of towels the bathtub had cracked peeling paint. The bathtub steady drip. I requested soap and towels never got any. Even got a text with “how is your room” I responded but no results. I spoke to front desk and was told they have a new owner and a lot has changed. Will not be going back.

Bathroom was a bit dirty and outdated from a fixtures standpoint which led to a poor quality shower. Quick trip, so it was fine for a night.

the rooms where nice, but the big area that needs your immediate attention are the beds ... they are the worst we have ever slept on ..please replace them ASAP and your hotel will be up to good status .

The reason for my overall rating not being Excellent was the fact that breakfast was not included in the price we paid and I was told that since we booked thru Expedia, we would have to pay $15 each for breakfast. This was not explained when we booked or I probably would not have stayed here. Needless to say, we did not eat breakfast at the hotel as there were restaurants near by. Other than this, the only complaints I have about the hotel are it was a bit dated and the mattress was a bit lumpy.

The hotel was very nice and clean. I really enjoyed staying here. It was close to restaurants and was easy to get back to the interstate from the hotel.

Cleaners didn’t clean our bathroom when we arrived. There was hair on the floor like someone just showered before we arrived and the shower floor was still wet.
