Staybridge Suites Wilmington E by IHG

Staybridge East is situated off a busy road just far enough away from traffic noise. It's located just a few miles from Wrightsville Beach, very convenient. There are restaurants and stores close to the hotel. This hotel has a lot going for it: well maintained, clean and comfortable rooms, bathrooms and beds, and a great breakfast every morning. We stayed in a suite that had a stove top, full size refrigerator, sink and dishwasher, also convenient for those of us who want to cook dinner like we do. We appreciate the hard working staff, the Wi-Fi and spotless rooms.

There was a few things I got charged parking typically the places I stay parking is included. And when we were leaving we stayed in a suite and obviously had lots of stuff from food our luggage and no cart was available. I was basically told they dont have any as there was one from one of the staff that brought it out and told me they had none available. We had to make several trips to the car. Other than that it was a nice place to stay the lady at the desk was very helpful and very nice

The property was nice, modern, and clean overall. The breakfast tasted good and wasn’t cardboard. Close proximity to UNCW and the beach. The breakfast area was rated a 96 or 97. Having worked in food service before, and knowing how easy it is to get an 100, I’ve learned that anything below a 99 is gross.

Our stay with Staybridge was once again a wonderful experience. Our check-in went smoothly, our room was comfortable and clean and our breakfast was delicious. Our pups were happy too!

I booked through expedia.com who reserved the wrong room. When i got there i was told they were sold out deal with it for days i requested to be moved and was told no until one of employees nice gentleman name look switched my room wich I was greatfull for but then I called Expedia back to let them know what was going on they gladly lied said they would comp me 3 days stays then when they contacted the hotel the lady maid all kinds of accusations and threw me out of the hotel not only threw me out but also called the police and sent 3 housekeepers to my room while I was out of my room some of my belongings were stolen. Ridiculous absolutely absurd ive never been treated like that at any hotel ivd stayed at something is and does need to be done through corporation. Other guests would come down stairs and wait for there room to be cleaned only to return and nothings been done clean towels left on the beds they dont change there sheets for 7 days absolutely disgusted by the hold stay. Then to contact Expedia only to be told to spend $325. To up graid insurance policies and they would reimburse me but only if I pay them first seriously no thank you I walk by faith not by sight.

I appreciate the hot breakfast and especially the oatmeal with toppings and waffles. A little discouraged with the hot bar, sausage looked very rough and no choc or white milk available for the kiddos. Also only scones available for pastries. Our stay was pleasant. Rooms were clean but the parking was horrible. The parking deck was full and when the front desk was asked what we needed to do, we were told “you can park across the street, other than that, I don’t know what to tell you”. There needs to be a better solution and the hotel needs to put that parking may be an issue on all their web listings.

Check-in was seamless. Extremely friendly staff. Breakfast was good, a lot of great options. Only negative is that we reserved a large suite with a pullout couch, but was extremely uncomfortable, so needed to make a bed out of the couch. Other than that, I would recommend.

The room appeared to be in good condition upon entry. However, the two elevators floors were dirty and not cleaned the time that my wife and I were there; the hotel is nice, but seem to be poorly managed; and does not have ice buckets in room although it does have a kitchenette.

My room key did not work all nite to about 8pm

You could smell marijuana daily in the hall and elevator. You could smell it on the maids. A non smoking hotel and the 4th floor always smelled like cigarette smoke. The laundry room has 4 washers and dryer’s. Only 1 washer worked and 3 dryers.

When I first checked in the room they put me in was occupied. I was then given a new room, which was a downgrade from the one I had picked and paid for. Not alot. Have stayed there before with Booking.com. Booking never sent our payment. I had to pay again and fight to get refund from Booking. The mattress was saturated in urine. We realized it after my husband slept in it overnight. We asked for it to be addressed only for house keeping to change the sheets and keep moving. We came back to the room and found the same situation. We finally had to ask for a new room which was reluctantly given to us. I will NEVER stay there again. This is completely unacceptable.

Traveling with adult kids means they don't want to share a bed in a regular hotel room (or sleep on a sofa bed), but getting separate rooms often means being at different ends of the hall. Staybridge offered a suite with rooms and beds for everyone, for the same price as getting 2 typical hotel rooms. It was convenient, clean, and the staff was wonderful. We do wish the "living room" area in the suite had more room for sitting -- another chair or 2, or another sofa would have been perfect.

DO NOT STAY HERE. At least as a local. I was staying here as a single, 35-year-old female because I had a singing gig downtown and didn't want to drive back home to Hampstead late at night. I attempted to check in at about 10PM, and handed the clerk my ID. She said "oh you're local, we don't like locals here", because I guess locals trash their hotel? I'm sorry if that's happened in the past but it was once again just me and a small overnight bag. I felt judged, uncomfortable, and extremely unwelcome. All the staff we encountered were super nice and friendly, from the front desk to the cleaning service to the breakfast staff. We needed a short weekend get away and we were pleased with our choice of stay! Now the only con; No vent in the bathrooms!! Sometimes that is necessary!!!!😝

Fix your washer and dryers great that they are free but workers use them and have no respect with using them. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable.

The smell of urine in our room was really bad. The carpets in our room were nasty. We had to keep our shoes on. They really need to shampoo the carpets for even take them out. You shouldn’t have carpet if you allow animals.

I like the two bedroom setup for my family. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The property implemented a new policy of charging for parking and refused to honor my booking.com reservations amount. I was charged the additional parking fees which I did not appreciate.

Room was infested with roaches, dishwasher had dishes left in it and they were uncleaned. Found small baby roaches in the dishwasher and we had two pets and was charged 50$ twice for them and additional 34$ that was unexplained. Room was changed after an overnight stay in the roach infested room because there were no other ones available .

The staff was exceptionally helpful and consistently courteous throughout my experience. The hallways were very humid, hot, and smelly. The elevator always had a funny smell and it did not work properly.

There was absolutely no towels when checking into the room/ we were issued pool towels to shower with and only 1 a piece .. kind of bothered me but in fact was the way we were dismissed and treated when asking for towels that really bothered me

Property is in desperate need of repair. Our room sofa was torn. When we asked for a replacement room we were offered a room that was being deodorized. Staff said that because we used Expedia there’s nothing they could do to fix it. So I called Expedia, who called the hotel and said there’s nothing she could do with a heavy accent. This caused me to wonder what’s the benefit of booking with Expedia? If they can only call back to the hotel where we had the problem. Supposedly if I had booked directly I could have cancelled and went somewhere else. I did speak with a manager who was able to change our room.

We have stayed here two years in a row. We go to visit our daughter and grandson for his birthday. It's convenient and close to all the places we love.

Great place to stay. Room (2bed/2bath) was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed and bedding was comfortable and nice, the kitchen was great and well stocked and free breakfast was a plus! Plenty of free parking and internet worked well. Dog friendly too. Would stay again and recommend.

We booked a suite and the couch smelled of urine, dishes and stove were very dirty and the walls had stains. We moved to another suite and it had an absolutely horrid smell, would not ever stay here again.

This hotel has seen better days. It is not clean. Random hair strands (that did not belong to any members of my family), visible dirt under the refrigerator and tons of fruit flies in the breakfast area. When I called for an extra wash cloth I was told it would be 30 mins to an hour because they had just put in the towels in the dryer. It was 9:30 am in the morning and they didn’t have any washed and dried towels???? The worst part is that we left for the day and when we returned our room smelled like rotten garbage and we had not left any garbage in the room. It was the sink, we have no idea was put in the sink while we’d were gone, but it smelled like a sewer. We asked for our room to be cleaned and they literally pulled the comfort up on the bed and gave us new pillows. They did not do anything else… I could have done that myself. The staff was really nice but the hotel needs a DEEP cleaning everywhere you looked was stained and had crumbs, dust and dirt. It was really quite nasty.

Milk and yogurt at the breakfast bar were spoiled and the pool was dirty. It did not have chlorine and was very cloudy.

Once checked in had to change rooms because of AC not working. For the entire weekend elevator out of order. Suite was on the 4th floor. Upon checking out had to make multiple trips due to elevator out of order.

Please be aware that the photos are not an accurate representation of the hotel. It seems like they took a run down motel and threw in a kitchen, new furniture and light fixtures.... The rooms are all dirty (especially the bathrooms). The first room I had was so filthy that I had to request a room change.. Even my 9 year old complained about the filth...The staff at the hotel were very nice but that's about it. This was our first trip in years and this hotel was a real bummer!

This place looks better on the outside. The rooms feel old, or maybe it was just the smell of the whole building. Our bathroom didnt not have a fan and the wall vent didnt do anything so sharing a bathroom with a whole family was not ideal. With no ventilation, mold grows in the bathroom.

The staff was good, but there were a number of minor issues that added up. There was no place to park in the drive through for check in. The drawers in the kitchen were stained. The silverware was incomplete - 1 spoon, 2 forks. There was a small hole in the bedroom where the door hit the wall. The thermostat wasn't working right. The door key wasn't working and, after two tries, it was determined the battery was dead. The cook didn't show up for breakfast on Sunday and so breakfast was late. The one who came in later was great.

Will definitely stay again if in the area. A little disappointed that ob Sunday,the day we were leaving,had to wait until 8:30 for breakfast because someone had called in sick.

Service was amazing, room was very clean. They called me ahead of time to let me know the room I originally booked was currently out of service due to the A/C unit going out and was upgraded to an even better room. Definitely would recommend

My room had fleas! The front desk workers did not seem too concerned but I was at least able to move to a different room. The second room was next door to a barking dog that barked until 1:30am, and people were slamming their doors in the hallway at 4am. Do not recommend!!
