For the price everything was good.

Overall, the stay was pleasant. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The negatives were small. There was a thumbnail sized spot of dried blood near the bathroom door, the plug for the tub had to be fixed (by me) to stop the flow of water, and the curtains were coming off the runner at the top. Otherwise, good place!

This was our first stay in a hotel. The only thing that needs attention is the floors. Our room was clean but the carpet was not. The maid came in our room while we were in there and sprayed the bathroom floor with cleaner swepted it with a broom and wiped it up with a towel! But the people that worked at the desk was very sweet and helpful, made us feel welcomed!

I had my connecting flight cancelled and by the time I was suppose to check in I was stranded in New York City. I tried to explain the situation and she first said someone else checked in under my name(how did that even happen) and when I told her no that was impossible because I’m In New York she said there was nothing she could do so goodbye two nights paid for nothing.

The whole floor and room smelled.

Parking was overly packed, breakfast was not the greatest, and most importantly my room was not the nicest. I got in at almost midnight and the A/C was not working at all. The room was musty and the sheets smelled as if they weren’t changed out. I dont like leaving bad reviews but this hotel was not comfortable. Parking is far out, the cleanliness of the hotel was questionable, only one elevator worked and it was super slow.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and in good condition. It seems to be a fairly new property. Good variety of foods for breakfast. Plenty of parking. Not in a very walkable area for restaurants, etc. UNCW campus is about a mile away and you can walk to it through neighborhoods behind the hotel.

The hotel was clean, room was quite comfortable. A continental breakfast was included but the food did not taste good at all. I don't think they used real eggs - they tasted fake (watery) and tasteless. The coffee was also awful. They did have fresh apples, muffins, OJ, instant oatmeal and DIY waffles. Convenient location and parking was good unless you were arriving late at night, which, in that case, be prepared to park in another property's lot and walk a distance to the hotel entrance. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops in driving distance of this hotel. All in all, a decent stay.

No didn't do the breakfast and my suitcase was stuck on left over bullets in the parking lot. I was stuck in the elevator for over 20 minutes.

We only had one washcloth cloth for 3 people. We had to use hand towels for showers. By the time we realized it, it was too late to go down and get more.

Cookies need to be available ALL day long - not just at check in... Great selection of snacks; thank you! Traveling when people smoke marijuana is always an issue. Smoke goes right under the door.

Location was very accessible to a lot of restaurants, downtown Wilmington, shopping, etc. good value There was a bar next door with live singing outdoors both Friday and Saturday night. The live music carried on well past midnight both nights. Parking was difficult at night time due to the bar parking in the hotel parking lot. The room next to us had loud music, yelling, slamming doors until 4am. Called the front desk and the staff walked the halls but the loud music and yelling kept happening.

Parking is a major problem lot was full of construction vehicles taking multiple spots . Spaces are very narrow poor lighting worried vehicle would be there in the morning or be damaged. Property was clean but old and dated. Looked like maintenance was and repair and painting was fine by highschoolers on break.

They asked us which level we want to stay, so there was options to choose from. There was a parking place for free. The place is noisy, not private as there was a connected room to ours, it made the room noisy too since we heard everything happened in the other room. We also heard the noise from the road and a concert from nearby. There were 2 beds in the room, however we reserved one with a king bed. These beds were small! The sheets were marked… I would not recommend this hotel only if you don’t have other choice.

The gentleman running the breakfast was super kind and helpful. He made sure i didnt need help getting and carrying food with my knee scooter. I cant speak highly enough.

Some staff are very pleasant especially the breakfast staff. Crappy towels . They give you a small towel that doesn't even cover your private parts. Desk chair that you use needs to be replaced. Plus only one chair to eat your food. Why have a nice refrigerator and no place to eat for 2 people Dangerous exit to go outside at the back of the property. It is so bad that I needed someone to hold open the door. Easy to injure your fingers. One staff member was so insulting to me he made me cry. Another person at the front desk told me that there is no Cargo District and argued with me. There is a cargo District in willmington. It's the up and coming place to visit. I've been to the property 3 times in the last 3 weeks. They need to have some customer relations training. Not sure if I'll stay there again.

Quick and easy check in. Great location, only 15 minutes from the airport. Staff was friendly and rooms were pretty quiet. Clean rooms and I really didn't hear that much from the other rooms, so that was nice. No bugs and the wifi was decent. First, the beds are terribly uncomfortable. They were so hard I had to lie on top of 2 of their comforters just to be able to sleep a little. The pills were terrible as well. 2 elevators, and they were kinda slow and a bit worn down. Breakfast ended at 9am and when they say 9am, they mean it. We got down there 5 'til 9, got our food, went to get some OJ and because it was 9:03, the machine didn't work. So keep that in mind. Also pretty pricey for the accommodations, but aren't all hotels nowadays?

We stayed here for the first time. For the price, it deserves 4 to 5 stars. Nice staff. Overall clean. Parking lot safe. The hotel has a great position between Wrightsville Beach, USS North Carolina, and downtown. Easy to get to other beaches. Surely, I would come back.

There was a great variety offered for breakfast, including both hot and cold items. The older gentleman who provided breakfast during our stay from April 7–10 was wonderful and went above and beyond to make sure guests were happy and well taken care of. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Didn't even take may chances with breakfast - as soon as we "woke" up from not being able to sleep more than an hour or so at a time, we rolled out. We were here to visit UNC-W. It was close to campus but not really walkable. Suffice it to say, if my kid goes to school there, I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. TERRIBLE.

The rating this has of an 8.6 on Expedia is ridiculous. There was no parking Friday night as there is a college bar next door and they use the lot. I was told by desk clerk, to “sit in your car for 30” and you can have my spot when you leave.” SERIOUSLY???!!! After paying $130 for a room for one night? DO NOT STAY HERE. Also VERY NOISY and lots of parties in room, drugs, etc.

The hotel entrance doors jammed, there were two elevators but only one was working (the working elevator was very slow). the hotel was dirty with lots of stains on the carpets. Parking spaces were too narrow. I did not try the breakfast due to the unkept look of the hotel. However, the staff were so nice and helpful and the water pressure was good.

NONE of this was the fault of the clerk. There seems to be poor communication between housekeeping and the front office staff of which rooms are available. And yes, I agree "reserving" a room, but be a little more flexible to make sure that guests can check in when they arrive. Perhaps more staff needs to be hired.

Only issue we had was the fridge would not cool, it took overnight for it to cold our drinks a little bit.

Cons: Hard beds Nasty carpet. I walked from one bed to the bathroom for a shower and my feet were nasty. Smells like old wet dog One washcloth and 3 hand towels One bar of soap in the bathroom and no hand soap. 1 ply toilet paper. Just splurge on some 2 ply already. Customers will be happier and y’all willl save some $$ in the longer run. No mention of the following: there is a gentlemen’s club and bar very nearby. Like literally next door. The back is against a car dealership that keeps street lights on all night. Which shines into the windows that have coverings that don’t completely block out the light. There are also car garages and all you can hear is cars being worked on (unless it’s the weekend). The pictures of this place make it appear nice but it’s not really. Half the elevators don’t work. The morning coffee for their breakfast is horrible. The iron in the room was used to melt plastic at some point. The pillows are lumpy. The bed is hard. I shouldn’t have to go out and buy air freshener for my room. Oh and the door knob is about to fall off the bathroom door. And the WiFi sucks. Probably got what I paid for but I will never stay there again and would never recommend it.

The woman who I checked in with was fabulous. She immediately put me on the side/floor and room of the hotel that was quiet as I had an early day the next day without any requests from myself. Every person that I saw theough my stay gave me a big smile and welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Only one working elevator for six floors makes transit frustrating. My room required me to manually reprogram the "universal" remote, which was left blaring on a high-volume Spanish channel. After moving a desk and a chair, I discovered the areas underneath hadn't been cleaned. I found old pizza crusts and a Snickers wrapper—a major safety issue as I have a severe nut allergy. I also noted paint rings in the bathroom and debris near the TV stand. (See photos) Despite confirming a late checkout at arrival, I was harassed by housekeeping and a manager an hour before my scheduled departure. The manager claimed no late checkouts were available, despite my prior confirmation. Additionally, a live-in maintenance staff member continues to make us feel uncomfortable with his stares while eating breakfast. The Wi-Fi is spotty, and parking is a nightmare. Spots are cramped, shared with neighboring businesses, and often require "double parking" to avoid door dings. There is significant potential here, but the lack of execution and disregard for regular guests is disappointing. With so much competition in Wilmington, we may start seeking other options.

I would prefer the smoke smell - hands down. the room itself was clean. Bed was comfy. Ice machine on the 5th floor was also broken. Its clearly an old building. It was fine for the one night, price was decent.

I never got the chance to stay. My flight was cancel out of Charlotte, North Carolina forcing me to stay in charlotte. Apparently there were attempts made to call the hotel to see if I could receive a refund due to no fault of my own. And apparently the hotel manager could not be reached. Therefore I could not receive the refund.

The staff here were very nice but the hotel is pretty run down. Im not sure why the other reviews are so high. We’ve -stayed in other Wilmington hotels with lower Expedia ratings that were in much better condition. There were a lot of work / construction crews staying here. I found the same at the other Choice property we stayed at. Noisy at night in the halls- mostly they're just hanging out but definitely not great if you want to sleep.

The room was comfortable, the internet mostly worked (frequent disconnections), and the breakfast was decent. Front desk staff was friendly. The second elevator was out of commission so the wait to get to/from the room resulted in us taking the stairs a few times.

The second elevator of the 6 floor hotel has been out of order for nearly a year. Sometimes you're waiting 10 minutes to get to or from you room. The internet (WiFi - They don't have ethernet in the rooms) does not stay connected longer than a few minutes so forget about getting any work done or streaming a movie. The cable also cuts in and out (pixelated as if the connection is weak) so TV is subpar. The microwaves and refrigerators are always pushed back so you have to pull them towards you if you want to use them. They usually have a great breakfast, but I missed it all 3 days on this stay, unfortunately. I was given a late checkout. I confirmed it at the front desk before going to my room. They're usually really good about not bothering me (as I put the DND on the doorknob). This time, they knocked at 11:30. I politely said I would be out at 1. Then again at 12:15. I said I'd be out at 1, again. Then the housekeeper argued "no you out at 12" .. I said "please go see the front desk".. I tried to call them on the phone in the room but guess what? The phones do not work in the room. So a few minutes later the front desk agent comes back with the housekeeper and they knock AGAIN! This is harassment at this point. Last time I received a great gesture in the form of a card. This time, the housekeeper almost caused me to have a second stroke.

The elevator and beds need to be updated. The elevator was out of order and I stayed on the 4th floor. The staff only put out of order signs on the main lobby elevators.

Staff was very courteous. We were in North Carolina for a funeral. Nancy, (i believe her name was) gave us a sympathy card. That was such a nice and sweet gesture. I rated this stay at Comfort Inn University with 5 stars, and would recommend it.

Normally, a good deal at this hotel. This time, exhausted from international travel and sick, I wasn't able to get hot water in the shower. I eventually figured out myself that the shower handle was placed backwards in the two rooms in which I tried. So opening the faucet fully would lead to ice cold water in middle of winter, no matter how long you kept it on, of course. No help was really provided other than an attempt to switch rooms, which led to frustration when it was the same on second room. Only a 10% refund was eventually extended... Will they fix this issue?

great inexpensive place for a few overnights. Breakfast not very tasty, but a coffee/tea and a decent muffin were easy to grab. I would sdtay there again.

It smelled like cigarettes upon entry, there was a black pubic hair on the bathtub, the bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly, and the mini fridge froze everything instead of keeping it cool. The hotel was clean, had a friendly staff and the bed was comfortable. No complaints with the hotel but the bar next door was very loud and didn’t stop playing music until 1:30 am. We could hear all the lyrics word for word. We were on the 6th floor. So as far as a restful nights sleep sadly it wasn’t. Again no fault of the hotel just something to know when booking.

It was okay. I wasn’t expecting to have to go downstairs to get a separate remote to change the input of the TV instead of doing it on the remote already in the room. The wifi was also somewhat inconvenient, as it would constantly ask me to sign in after a while. The beds were comfortable though, even though one of my beds had a smell of poop on the sheets, yet none was found. I also think only one of the elevators worked, and that one was super slow. Staff was super helpful whenever I asked a question. Room was nicely organized and bathroom was clean.

Hotel was clean, beds were comfty and the rooms smelled great- all in all a perfect stay for a getaway with my partner- the only thing I had a complaint about was only one elevator working which made getting up and down from the 6th floor slightly inconvenient but did not at all take away from our amazing experience here!

The cons: there is a bar right next door that has an outdoor band playing until 2:00am. Live music so loud that you will not sleep. The bar patrons use the hotel parking lot so parking is tricky. The TV has 200 stations but none of them the ones you want! No movie channels, no HBO, lots of sports, religion and Spanish channels. So, you will be hearing the band all night and cannot even watch TV because the channel lineup is so bad. Not a fun Saturday night for me. Lastly, the remote did not work, the replacement remote also did not work and the third remote finally worked. The smoke detector was chirping at first but finally stopped. The lady at front desk was overwhelmed. I think she has to hear lots of complaints about the music. Other than that, location is convenient but just know you won’t get any sleep.

While Comfort Inn University in Wilmington, NC was a convenient location to everything, the hotel itself was very poor. The facility was dirty and unkept. The furniture in the room was dirty and had spills all over the place. The room microwave had not been cleaned. Food was splattered all over the inside. The bathroom was semi-clean but had missing racks. The room floors were wet and moldy and we could hear sounds and noises from the room next to us into the early morning. Breakfast was subpar and the toaster was broken.

The first night of my stay, someone was banging and shouting expletives on the door next to us. Started about 1 in the morning and lasted for hours. We called the front desk and Jonathan said he knew who it was and gave him a key. He obviously was not able to get in because the banging continued. We had just driven almost 800 miles that day and needed a good nights sleep. I was given a very small credit which, in my opinion, was not sufficient.

The bar next door played incredibly loud music until midnight Thursday-Saturday. After complaining several times and two nights of no sleep, we asked to move to the other side of the hall. If you stay there on a weekend, ask for an odd numbered room!

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was wonderful as well as the food and room! We had to switch hotels after a long day. Arriving at 11pm, our room was clean and comfortable. We will likely look to stay here again when we come back to Wilmington!

It met our needs. The AC didn’t cool as much as we would like, and it didn’t feel as “nice” as some other hotels, but no complaints.

Property is aged. Room smelled bad. The floor was wet, I am assuming because the AC was not condensing properly. Woke up in the morning, stepped onto the carpet and it was wet, like the carpet had dew all over it. The tile in front of the bathroom was wet as well.

This was our second stay and it was fine. The pool was great but the AC in the room wasn't able to keep the room cool during the day.

Everything was great except the parking lot is weirdly set up. The spaces are very small and hardly anyone was able to fit in a spot properly which resulted in many “open” spaces being unusable

The mattress was hard always usually go to the Hampton Inn and medical Park, but try something different. Everybody was friendly no sugar cookies was so good.

Talk about a great staff! Every staff person was incredibly nice and so willing to accommodate our needs! Our daughter even asked to stay here the next time we are in town. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!

Check in was great, the host was very attentive. The hallways stunk, the floors had so much black spots all over. The room smelt moldy and pee soaked. The curtain ha d black fingerprints all over. The bathroom door would not close for anything. The AC was loud and the air smelt so bad. Outside had about 10 Spanish people grilling and playing games as if they were having a family reunion. This was by far the worst stay I have had at any hotel. I barely slept and as soon as it was light out I left. I would not recommend. My kids were so uncomfortable.

The listing says they have EV chargers on property…. They most definitely do not! The closest charging station is 25 minutes away at the mayfield shopping center. The staff were super nice though! We were booked for 3 nights, but decided to leave after 2, because when we pulled in on the 2 night, their was a larger white lady on the hood of a truck twerking it what appeared to be shorts for a toddler. If I was 21 and single, this might be a good time. But I highly recommend you spend $20 more a night for a different spot, if you have kids.

One elevator was broken. The other was very slow and had graffiti carved on the walls inside of it. The lamp in the room was broken and had questionable substance on it. We also tried multiple times to connect To their WiFi and it never worked.

The carpets were filthy in our room. The bathroom tub did not drain, and the bathroom was not clean around the tub. In addition, why would there be a coffee maker on the sink,a terrible location and unsanitary. Not sure why others gave it a good review.

Friendly staff clean pool great breakfast every morning

My husband and I enjoyed our little weekend getaway at the Comfort Inn. Mrs. Sandra at the front desk was a delight to chat with. She even shared a little life story with me. She baked some fresh cookies and although they smelled good we didn’t get any. Our room was spacious and very clean and quiet. The next morning we enjoyed our breakfast and the blueberry waffle was hit. We would stay here again and again when we want to getaway.

The property appeared fine for a low budget hotel and a quick stay. However, the first room we were given was under construction and we had to return to the lobby immediately to get a different room. The room we ended up staying in was very humid and moist. The carpet was damp and the sheets felt damp. On our second and last night, there was visible condensation collecting on the hard floor surfaces. If we were staying longer I would have complained and switched rooms but we were checking out shortly. I reported the conditions to the worker at the front desk as we were leaving.

Staff was friendly and efficient. Our experience was decent for the price we paid. The hotel itself is in serious need of updates and repairs. Most notably the carpet in our room was soaking wet in front of the AC unit and wet near the fridge, which did not stay cold enough to keep our food at a safe temperature overnight. When mentioned to front desk staff the wet floor was chalked up to “humidity” but they said they would have someone look at it. We all suffered allergy symptoms upon waking which suggests there may be mold present from all the moisture.

Two maintenance issues I'd like you to pass on: The bathtub drain needs to be cleaned out. It drains slow so you end up standing in a couple inches of water. Also the toilet seat is loose. It needs to be tightened up.

The rooms and hotel were dated. The beds were super uncomfortable. There is a gentleman’s club in the same parking lot and also a bar. Around 3:00 AM the fire alarm went off in the hallway for about 20 minutes. No communication from from the front desk and no one answered the phone. I called the local police department and they said it was checked and everything was ok. The next day the front desk said someone was vaping and it was out of their control. Would definitely not recommend this hotel. Definitely misleading online.

AC IN ROOM WORKED, BUT IT ALWAYS FELT DAMP. TURNED ON HEAT TO TRY TO GET RID OF MUGGY FEELING AND THEN TURNED BACK TO AIR. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE COFFEE SETUP SOMEPLACE MORE CONVENIENT FOR THOSE THAT DIDN'T WANT TO EAT BREAKFAST

We had a great time! We really enjoyed the pool. The staff was really nice and attentive. Breakfast was super plus. Here’s the thing it’s a little older, maybe improvements on the elevator and we did see a bug(we will overlook that). The rooms are maintained clean. Really enjoyed our stay, we will return.

Decently cleaned hotel. Could have been better. There was hair on the side of the toilet closest to the tub so obviously when the bathroom was cleaned, it wasn’t done properly.

The building is really old and run down, and the first night, the whole room got totally SOAKED with water from the moisture inside the building. I am not exaggerating. There were puddles on the floor, the carpet was wet, all of our clothes. We asked to change rooms thinking it had been a maintenance issue and we were told due to the age of the building, the air conditioner couldn't be placed above 69 degrees. I come from a tropical, moist country and had never ever heard of this happening elsewhere. Staff was very friendly, we were given another room which smelled of dampness as well and was moist, but at least things didn't get visibly wet this time. The building and elevators are VERY run down, but staff tries to keep everything as well as they can. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean and well decorated, much more modern than the building itself. Breakfast was not good, especially the "eggs", but had waffles and muffins my kids enjoyed.

Room smelled slightly of urine when first entering, a few stains on the floor too. Possibly got put in a dog friendly room. Bathroom fan wasn't functional and no window to open. Overall pretty clean otherwise.
