The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center

They had a great list of local restaurants that were close by and shared happenings in the area with us. The staff was above and beyond helpful and location was close to where we wanted to visit.

My stay at the Westin DC City Center was exceptional!!! The hotel and its amenities were excellent, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.

When I got to my room room it was quite cold and the only way I could warm it up was to turn off the airconditioner and leave for several plus hours. It was not possible to turn on the heat in order to warm the room up. I ended up just leaving the AC off. Another disappointment was the mini coffee maker in the room - the coffee was tasteless. The coffee at the coffee shop in the lobby was ok, but the breakfast selections were not very good. Lastely, my room had very little natural light. Overall, I'm not sure this hotel was worth the price. .

This Westin is a 2 star hotel. The bedding is pretty horrendous. It feels as luxurious as laying on a plastic garbage bag. No coffee included ( no, I don't count that disgusting bag of coffee crap). Parking fees are absolutely absurd. Too many hotels in this area to stay here.

The only reason for the bad review is bed. Everything is great (stuff, amenities, bar, breakfast), but beds are terrible. Old and with bad springs. My bad had bump in the middle, so, you try to position yourself to avoid it all night. So, with all the good stuff, bed destroys the experience.

It was an excellent deal, the hotel and stuff was very good. The hotel is mostly recommended. We had a corner room, it was very big with two beds that fits our family. Parking in front of the hotel is free at night until 7 am and saves a lot of money. The hotel location is great.

Did not know we were sleeping in a MOLDY comforter for 3 nights!! The manager tried telling me this comforter had feathers clumped up when I said I’m not buying that excuse he tried telling me it was ionization and oxidation! That’s just one thing… my husbands asked me to order room service so when I called down the woman told me flat out no maam the guy who runs room service cut his finger real bad and had to leave you can order and come pick it up. So this place has 1 guy that can do room service runs …. ODD! Our room was barely serviced cleaned! I wiped down our phone, remote, bathroom and necessities I wish I took a picture of that! I do have a picture and video of this MOLDY comforter! Corporate told me that the material inside the comforter does clump up. Basically told me, after doing laundry just about my 47 years of life, that I don’t know a moldy blanket when I see one! I will NEVER stay at a Wesin and will forever be weary of Marriott because of this!

The location is excellent—convenient, safe, and easy to get around. The bar is also a highlight, with a great atmosphere to relax after a long day. One of the best parts: zero noise. It’s impressively quiet, making it easy to get a good night’s rest. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was in a great location.. we walked everywhere. The hallways though, they smelled AWFUL... we couldnt tell if it was weed, rot, mold, or what. We were on the 7th floor. Also the AC hardly worked in each of our rooms (we had two rooms) we turned the AC down but it was so hot everyone was sweating. Would not stay here again.

The drawer doesn’t stay closed, the water pressure was very poor, and the toilet doesn’t flush well. And the carpets were a bit crunchy in a few spots? Also the elevator is pretty loud - you can hear it going up and down the elevator shaft.

It was very clean and has a great atmosphere. The beds were rock hard and the pillows were extremely thin. Made for a very uncomfortable night.

The location was very convenient! Rooms are outdated but, comfortable. Check out was a little confusing. The room was paid for but, I was charged again with the card used for when checked in. Had to wait for a manager to resolve it.

This Westin missed the mark. I can get passed the lack of updates rooms, but the beds were not comfortable. The worst part though was the our floor reeked of marijuana and cigarette constantly through our stay that we actually ended up checking out a day early. Pro was that the area was very convenient and staff was friendly.

The Westin needs a renovation. It might have been the place to stay 20 years ago. I had to change the room once due to uncleanliness. The hotel staff is nice. The valet is awful. They kept moving my car unnecessarily.

Westin was my top stay this year with check in and quality. I usually upgrade for view in cities around the world. The view was stunning, and I had not requested an upgrade. The young lady who checked me in was close to very best in my many travels military, private industry and Fed govt. Regret being bad with names. Our breakfast service with Sitsu was really nice too.

Besides the fantastic customer service they were extremely logical about the food selections, drink selections, as well as some point of interest in DC for us to take advantage of while we were staying at the hotel. I was very grateful to have met both of them as they made our trip to Washington DC a very pleasurable one.

I truly enjoyed my stay from Wednesday until Sunday! All of the employees were pleasant and very helpful! The rooms were clean, and housekeeping not only came by daily, but checked back later in the day after I left the room. The hotel was quiet just as I like it. Kudos to Westin!

The Westin should perhaps use some of their earnings for this fiscal year to give this hotel a thorough update and maybe upgrade some of its guests' amenities and rooms. I saw two different guests wanting to go to another Westin because they did not like this one.

Breakfast price was too high! Quality average. My booking.com reservation was including breakfast but the hotel insisted it was not! I showed the receptionist the booking.com confirmation but she insisted that booking.com did not send this info!!

We reserved this hotel thinking it would be a great stay, only to realize the AC was not working and our room was over 80 degrees. The staff claimed that there was an issue with the system and that they couldn’t do anything about it. The staff would also not refund us our money. We made the decision to go to another hotel for a few days while they fixed the issue, at our own additional cost. Big inconvenience for our family as the basic necessity of AC was not able to be furnished.

I have never been so impressed by a hotel before. This hotel is flawlessly managed, impeccably clean, and every single member of their team is a true professional who hits the mark and delivers amazing customer service. I have stayed at some great hotels before, but none like the Westin in DC. The Westin DC and team is what other hotels should aspire to be. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could!

There was a birthday party raging until 11:45pm in the lobby restaurant. I called the front desk 3 times between 1030pm and 1130pm to complain about the noise. It wasn't until I went down to the lobby at 1145pm that security went over and got the party to quiet down. The following morning the staff were understanding and helpful. They comped our parking, which was appreciated.

So I stayed Saturday night and the valet charged us $40 for parking in front of the hotel when it was free after 10pm and it was a parking meter. We gave them $40 before we realized that it was a meter. We got to the actual hotel at 7:30pm and was riding around looking for parking until 10pm because they told us valet was $80 because we had a pick up truck. I think that was very rude they are lying to customers about paying to make extra money. Besides that the hotel stay was okay.

The property and staff were excellent. The average rating for neighborhood is due to feeling a little unsafe and dirty such as it is in many neighborhoods. The hotel is great, especially the staff. The only problem with the hotel was the room. The room was perfectly clean however the furnishings are not what I expected from a Westin. Furniture is dated and the bureau doors would not stay shut unless we jammed them. Aggravating.

The team told me now I need to wait a few days to see if the item is found and then to search for it I need to use a website. What happens to picking up a phone? Also I get it that the cleaning staff is busy but when I get in at 2:30am please don’t try and clean my room at 8:30. It’s too damp early.

Me and my family arrived after normal check in hours which I was told would be fine when I called to confirm the reservation. However, upon arrival the gentleman at the desk was rude and stated that they are unable to accommodate me due to late check in despite me calling earlier that day and being told it was fine. The gentleman proceeded to tell me there is no such thing as late check in. I explained to him I travel all the time and never have a problem with calling ahead and letting them know I will be late. I have my preferred hotels but I wanted to try something different. The gentleman proceeded to be hateful and rude. He made me feel unsafe and raised concerns about my safety. I had my child with me and decided to leave without incidence on my end. He instructed me to reach out to Expedia to get my refund. I requested refund and was fully okay with losing the fee of the first night as long as I received my refund for the rest of the booking as I was told I would since I never got to check in or stay during my time in DC. I received an email stating that my refund request was denied entirely, despite the policy being for any cancellations or missed bookings the fee will be equivalent to the first night

I'll start with the 'dislike'. Everything in the room was clean but the carpet needed a vacuum badly. Its like the surfaces were dusted onto the carpet &then forgot to vacuum. I also ordered room service twice & was twice disappointed by the food considering the description & price & both times items were left off or not as described. The crab cakes tasted like & was the consistency of mushy cat food. Also, the parking rates are astronomically expensive. What I loved about Westin was the front staff. They made me feel so safe & welcome & helped me with any question I had & did so with a genuine smile. I had no worries for my solo trip knowing they were there. I loved the overall atmosphere as well & felt like the price was reasonable for all the amenities offered. I would stay there again but I won't spend money on room service or parking.

Dining was a pleasure. Twice went to breakfast wait staff and food presentation is outstanding./ Coupons for meals weren't automatic.

I need to get connected to a duty manager as I was charged twice for this stay.

Staff was amazing. Haven’t recieved this level of service and professionalism from a chain hotel since covid. I’ll be back.

Great location for sightseeing. All the major attractions are walkable from the hotel. Rooms were ok, average size and reasonably clean. Breakfast is ok, limited option for those with breakfast included in the room. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Did not like restaurant service. Slow food delivery. Indifferent attitude of seating hostess. Acted like she was “annoyed” by having to seat us. We were there for 6 days and it never changed. Male manager was very attentive. Beautiful facility with a few challenging staff.

Awesome staff

The usual as expected from Westin: top-notch service, exquisite linens and beds, clean rooms, quality facilities. The location was wonderful with Thomas Square (across the street) and The White House nearby (about four blocks).

Your staff was all friendly and amazing! Will stay here again when we come back !

I had an amazing experience at the hotel during my recent stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay.

The rooms and hotel were great! Very friendly and helpful staff. I would like to see the carpet in the rooms replaced with wood laminate as it’s cleaner.

Location is great and staff friendly, however, I found 3 cockroaches in our room on our final morning (2 in washroom, 1 in main room).

Housekeeping missed cleaning the room two times, even after we told the reception at 15 pm we would like the room cleaned they didn’t do it.

The staff was extremely helpful and courteous.

When we got to the room, it was not cleaned well. We called concierge and this was dealt with promptly. The room was a bit tired looking but the heavenly beds were amazing. Nowhere in the hotel, was a cup available for coffee - only paper cups at breakfast, in the room and in Starbucks. No plates available in Starbucks - had to eat breakfast out of a bag. VERY welcome iced water and cold towels on entrance to hotel. Lobby area was beautiful and everyone so friendly.
