Loved this property! Our entire stay/experience was fabulous - everyone from the doormen to concierge and reception were exceptionally cordial, friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend The Jefferson.

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff! Great location and the Quill bar was exceptional. Only complaints are the size of the bathrooms and lack of bathroom amenities.

Charming hotel and very friendly staff especially during check-in. My one and only complaint is how noisy my stay was. I highly recommend asking for a room far away from the house-keeping closet space because they are constantly in and out and shutting doors at all hours of the day. The doors to the rooms need to be sealed better but I understand it's an older hotel.

We had a wonderful experience at the Jefferson. We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready yet. However they had a complementary lounge we were able to use while we waited for our room to be ready. We had lunch and drinks while we waited for our room, all complementary. Which was wonderful after a morning of traveling. The room was well maintained and the hotel was beautiful. The staff incredibly helpful and so kind. Looking forward to returning.

Comfy rooms, nice decor, breakfast was excellent as well as the service.

The shade in the room was broken and wouldn't close all the way so I couldn't sleep as the bright light from the office building across the street was shining in my eyes

Elegant and centrally located. Except that there was so much else to do, we could have happily settled into the Book Room by the fireplace for hours on end.

The staff and the accommodations at The Jefferson in DC remain superb. My husband and I never tire of a weekend stay with this classy hotel.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. The room was immaculate, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable. What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the service. Every single staff member we came into contact with greeted us warmly — genuinely welcoming, not scripted. The highlight was when the manager personally came to our room to wish my wife a happy birthday and surprised her with macaroons and a handwritten birthday card. That level of thoughtfulness made the stay feel personal and unforgettable. Even small details didn’t go unnoticed. The doorman took the initiative to make sure our Uber pulled fully into the hotel driveway so we wouldn’t have to step out into the cold such a simple gesture, but it spoke volumes about their attentiveness and care. We could not have been more impressed. This is hospitality done right elegant, warm, and intentional. We will absolutely be back.

The hotel has been nicely updated. Room was very well appointed. Service was impeccable. There are private lounges for you to hang around if your flight leaves later in the day, which was a bonus for us.

The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable from the moment you enter the door to the friendly chatter at the bar, and the peaceful breakfast at the Greenhouse. The hotel is rich with history and it's designs reflect it so much so you almost feel you were transported to colonial America.

Front of house staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the complimentary snacks and water provided about an hour into my stay were unexpected but made for a vastly more inclusive experience. The ability to order room service, housekeeping and other services from the provided tablet and app were also greatly appreciated. Knowing anything I could need was just a few taps away added to the excellence of my stay. Overall I would 100% recommend this property for anyone coming to the DC area who is looking for a high class experience, in a charming, comfortable and well kept old hotel.

We try to stay at different properties each time we’re in DC. We’ll be hard-pressed to find one that is better than the Jefferson. The rooms sparkled, the staff were incredibly helpful, the amenities were spot-on, and the location was great.

My stay at The Jefferson was perfect. The people at the hotel are wonderful the food 5 star we enjoyed the terrace to smoke some Cigars. Amazing experience I highly recommend this Hotel

Our stay was 3 nights. The property is beautiful and the staff are warm and welcoming. We loved that the hotel is a very short walk to the White House- you can see it from the hotel. We walked to the Washington Monument and the Museum of Natural History from the hotel. We had our 8 year-old son with us and therefore utilized Lyft for excursions beyond a mile or two round trip. Make no mistake though - this hotel is in a terrific location for sight-seeing, especially for 1st times to DC like the three of us. Turn-down service, several staff on the door every time we came and went, impeccable house-keeping, assistance with everything (FRIENDLY Valets and Bellhops). At some 5-star hotels, you get the sense that you are being humored (at times even tolerated) for the sake of a tip. This is not the feeling we had at The Jefferson. To the contrary, the ladies and gentlemen who helped us seemed genuinely nice. I cannot say enough great things about the hotel and its staff. The reason for a star deduction is because of the sleep quality. We stayed in a double queen and the bed seemed a little short. I am 6'03" and found myself lying diagonally on the bed in order to "fit". Also, the mattress was too firm for our liking. Last, there are 3 pillow types among the 10 pillows - 4 VERY firm LARGE pillows, 4 King VERY soft pillows, and 2 throw pillows. None of which were comfortable. So much to love about The Jefferson. Just not the beds/pillows.

Elegant and historic! The tv in the bathroom was an excellent touch! They even gave a welcome stuffed animal for my child.

Pay attention to the reviews as most are not for people staying at the hotel itself. Rooms on the 5th floor are noisy and you can smell the kitchen. Rooms do not have an iPad - they are Lenovo tablets. The tablet in the first room provided me with more access to actually utilize the tablet than the second room. The mini Bose speaker in the second room would not connect to the Lenovo tablet. The staff that work the front desk are generally unhelpful and unpleasant. I informed them that it was my first stay and didn't know anything about the hotel - I was shown the elevator. Plenty of opportunities for revenue lost. Asked the staff to replace the stained towel in my bathroom. Instead, a pile of towels was sent to my room and the stained towel remained. The period era antique cobwebs on the light in the first room were a nice touch. I assume the black stuff on the bed was a horrible stain from the iron. The mini fridge in the room is stocked with hotel choice beverages - you touch, you buy. Not sure if they really do housekeeping two times a day. They did turn down the bed two out of the three nights. The bed was not touched the night they placed me in the new room.

This is a small, fine hotel, in a neighborhood that claims fine hotels...but I've found most of them busy, high-status, univiting - the Jefferson is simply a fine, small hotel...staff, service, rooms (including the small public rooms), restaurant for a light supper were all perfect. I plan to stay there again when I'm next in DC.

Mgnt jammed us in a poor room even through we paid for a higher grad room and the hotel was half full. Line staff was good. Mgnt was no so.

The Jefferson is an excellent hotel. However, service was poor due to the staff's open use of cell phones; on more than one occasion, staff did not respond adequately because they were distracted by their cell use. Surfing the net. This behavior occurs later in the evening and at night

The hotel was nice and the stay was pleasant. However, I noticed that someone from Jefferson hotel looked me up on Linkedin around the time of our trip. That felt a little weird, what is the purpose of this???? Just felt a little uneasy about it.

The Jefferson is a quaint, comfortable hotel within easy waking distance from Du Pont Circle. I enjoyed a nice breakfast from room service each morning. The staff members were all pleasant.

Not the wonderful experience it used to be!

We have stayed here many times. Service is very good and property is immaculate. Rooms are small but elegant. We didn’t like our room (201) as it had a huge cabinet built out into the room (for no purpose). It seemed to be connected to the canopy over the front entrance. Anyway, it was very inconvenient and we were disappointed to be assigned such a room given our loyalty.

Such a classy hotel. The bed is so dreamy and the plush robe is so cozy. The first thing I do upon arrival is put my robe on, hydrate with the glass bottles of water and turn on my favorite stories.
