Excellent location for tourists and if you are visiting GW Hospital. Easy to get around, staff excellent, great breakfast. Well worth the stay.
- 4.5/5
Breakfast was great, location top notch, very close to GW station. The rooms had everything we needed for our stay, we were able to make some meals in the kitchenette. Laundry facilities were an added bonus, the front desk was able to provide change/quarters, but you can also use a card. I really wanted to use my Marriot Bonvoy card to pay for the rooms but I didn't have the physical card (I had it as a payment option using my phone). However, the front desk did not support tap/apple pay. So I had to use a different card and miss out on the points.

This is our third stay in Residence Inn, Foggy Bottom in Washington, D.C. The biggest hurdle of our check this time in was that the snow and ice in front of the hotel were not fully removed. We came with full size minivan that is not on the small scale of cars and we had a very hard time parking in front of the hotel to unload. The hotel can take care of its entrance, which entails that the ONE parking spot right in front of the hotel is clear at all time from snow and ice.

The Foggy Bottom area is nice to stay in, and the Metro was only 4 minutes walk away. The beds and pillows were pretty stiff and dated, but everything was clean. The complimentary breakfast was great! There were lots of hot options and they changed things up every day. I recommend using spot hero to find parking offsite, as we were able to pay around $40 a day versus the $60 a day that the hotel charges.

The location is perfect: safe, within walking distance of the waterfront and Georgetown shops a quick Uber drive to anywhere on the mall for under $15. The underground parking is tight, you really won’t fit if you have a big car! Watch out for the $10 parking tax on top of their daily fee. Our family had an excellent time in Washington DC and the residence. Inn was the perfect place to set up our home base.

I had flights canceled so I booked at the last minute with my twin criteria being price and walking distance to DC attractions. They gave me a suite! Full kitchen, separate living room etc etc. Very comfortable, super clean. Breakfast was very good with lots of seating of different kinds. The coffee was excellent, which was a pleasant surprise. All the staffI interacted with were OUTSTANDING: helpful, friendly, funny, kind. They let me leave my luggage after I checked out so I could roam the city unencumbered, and called a cab for me when I had to go back to the airport. This hotel and its staff turned a frustrating layover into a mini-holiday, and I am grateful Some fresh fruit at breakfast? But it might have been there and I didn’t see it!

The breakfast spread was nice and the servers were over-the-top on their toes and helpful. The cleaning staff left a sweet note and gift at my door; nice touch, ladies. I was surprised. Some nice employees. The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. Although overpriced, the selection and variety of items in the lobby store was good. Thank you. Some of the staff were really friendly, helpful and the other half, not so much. Hit or miss... The shower head was not so great. I paid for the room in advance; at check out, the employee added an ambiguous $20.00 charge. I paid it, then a few minutes later, she said that after she had spoken to her manager, they would soon refund the charge. I since have received a refund of .01 and other of .02 cents to my account. I'm waiting for the rest...

6 night stay to tour DC. Fantastic location near Metro and Whole Foods grocery store. I highly recommend this location due to ease of access to DC mall / museum area via Metro. Purchase your DC Metro SmarTrip card and add it to your Apple Wallet before leaving home. Good morning hotel breakfast with employee Ruben keeping the area spotless. Our room had a kitchen with frig/freezer, stovetop (no oven), microwave, basic dishes, and dishwasher. We stopped by Whole Foods after a busy tour day for their ready-made dinners and saved a lot of money and hassle by eating in.

I mentioned it to the front desk. He assured me that it would only be intermittent. It was intermittent all day! The next morning I called from the room so they could hear how loud it was. I literally had to stop talking half a dozen times during the conversation as she couldn’t hear me over the drilling. The last morning we could hear it, not as loudly, but we were leaving anyway. I understand it is challenging to maintain a building when there are always guest. However, when you have scheduled maintenance in an area, I think it would be wise to not put people in those rooms! Otherwise, the hotel is well situated, the breakfast was terrific, and the staff were very nice.

Brought my parents to experience DC for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the experience we had. I’ve stayed at many similar price point hotels in DC and can confidently say this one surpassed all expectations. Clean hotel with a great breakfast! The breakfast staff especially were super nice and welcoming. I also loved that they had various infused water options across the front desk. Location was great as it was just a short drive away from the national mall. I would definitely come back here for future trips!

Very nice one night stay at this hotel. We were in DC to see a show at the Kennedy Center and wanted a walkable hotel. Residence Inn fulfilled that expectation plus more! Beautiful lobby with infused water available. Eric at the front desk was very nice and professional, even though there were quite a few guests waiting--he was very patient with everyone. Was able to check in early and the room 904 was spacious and clean (hallways have a nice scent!). Bed was very comfortable. Was able to walk to pick up a deli sandwich nearby and then later dinner at a nearby restaurant. Breakfast the next morning in the lobby was delicious--so many selections to choose and the breakfast staff was attentive to refilling foods and clearing dishes. Overall was a nice stay although the parking fee was a bit steep, but we couldn't find any available on street parking.

The location to George Washington Hospital was incredible. It was just a few steps away. And the staff was very nice and it really made the stay that much better. Everyone was very kind and smiling. It sure helped us when we visited our dad at the hospital. We were really grateful. The beds were fine and the pillows were excellent. And they served breakfast with waffles and eggs and bacon and milk and juice, among other items.

Excellent location, just 2 minutes from Foggy Bottom metro giving direct train to Dulles and downtown DC. Both Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s are nearby. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare small meals. The included breakfast is surprisingly good with both hot and cold items, and decent coffee! Very good high-speed WiFi. The bed itself was comfortable but the bedding was not good. Pillows are very soft with no support. The duvet is not put in a duvet cover, instead a light sheet is wrapped around it, which inevitably comes off during the night. This should really be changed for hygiene reasons. The heating was temperamental and stopped working a few times, but was fixed immediately. The heating is also very noisy.

I am a smoker. And understand no smoking in the rooms. We smoked outside and didn’t see an ashtray to use the first couple of times. We threw the cigarette butts out in the garbage in our room. After I left they took the butts out of the garbage took a picture and charged me for a smoking in the room fee. I called and left a message for a return call. No-one called me back. Bad customer service if you can’t even return the call.

Average business / residential hotel near George Washington University. Seems recently renovated and above average breakfast options. On the other hand, little to no parking around, and the hotel charges an ungodly $60/night for parking in its underground garage.

Hotel itself is nice and comfortable. Must of had new person working front desk that was not trained very well. Took forever to check in. Received hotels.com email several days before our check in telling us the hotel parking garage is closed during our visit and directed us to go to another paid garage 6-minute walk which we did. Upon arrival hotel had no idea what we were talking about and said parking garage was open and available. Quite frustrating. Hotel parking garage hard to see and not much room to park while checking into hotel. Breakfast was good. Easy 5-minute walk to Kennedy Center.

The rooms are dated but clean. What really makes this place is the staff. They are so so wonderful and it’s clear they work incredibly hard for the guests.

They wouldnt let me cancel when i was in middle of storm with small kids instead i had to book a night at closer hotel and push my stay the next day. The rooms channels never worked kept freezing. Breakfast was good. The sofa bed mattress was terrible to sleep on, the linens were clean.

Pretty much what I expected for the area. Fair value for the price.

1 of the elevators was out of order waiting for a replacement part. Breakfast buffet was a little sparse for GF/Vegan options.

Old hotel, smells bad and in very inconvenient area.

I loved the hotel. I would highly recommend this. Breakfast was so so good.

My son and I stayed here for several days. It was a great size room for the two of us and the kitchen made it very convenient for meals in the room. Whole Foods is just a few blocks away, so we loaded up on some groceries. Entrance to the Metro was very close, and we felt safe walking to and from it to our hotel. I would stay here again if we ever go back.

Our hotel room is amazinggg! They also have a welcoming letter and some treats. I like how big is our room only for overnight. I just suggest that th parking in hotel should be included in the rate esp. its only overnight. But overall 10/10 ⭐️

The property felt like it hadn't been updated since the late 80's. Looks old and very average. Room size was nice, but that is really the only positive. Based on price, you are grossly over paying for a larger room. We were put in a handicap accessible room, which wasn't ideal. Shower was straight out of a 70's horror film. Beds were old and uncomfortable. Not worth the price we paid at all.

The suite was spacious, clean, and well appointed. The area was super convenient for an evening at the Kennedy Center. The staff was very personable and helpful.

room was fine. On the night of the Kennedy Honors…a Sunday night at 10pm….our key didn’t work to get into the front door of the Hotel!!! We were knocking on the door…the intercom didn’t work and it was cold and scary to be alone at night in DC at the Hotel we paid for and not be able to get anyone to open the door. There was no one in the lobby Or front desk. We were in shock!!! This should NEVER EVER HAPPEN TO ANYONE!!!!! I feel we should be compensated for the horrible inconvenience and awful experience.

We traveled to Georgetown for a concert at the JFK Center and decided to spend the night at the Residence Inn Washington DC/Foggy Bottom. This hotel is in a convenient location - a quick drive to Georgetown, the Smithsonian, Capitol, Zoo - and walkable to the JFK Center and Washington Harbor. The hotel was comfortable, the staff was extremely nice and helpful, and the breakfast was decent. Onsite parking is very limited and is $60 per night, but they let us park there until the concert was over the next day.

Perfect neighborhood for sightseeing in DC. Every place we wanted to visit was walkable or close to metro. Nice restaurants, drug store, market nearby. Large suite. Smallish bathroom but normal for the age of the hotel. Very clean. Excellent breakfast buffet. Comfy bed. Priced ok for what you get and the location. Excellent customer service.

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Front desk staff was kind, professional and efficient. The place was clean and inviting. I would definitely stay here again.

Great property excellent location

The rooms were large and comfortable with a kitchenette that was helpful to store and reheat restaurant leftovers. Also, the shower was nice with the toiletries needed for hair and body washing. The bed was also very comfortable with pillows that had just the right amount of firmness.

We asked for help 3 times. Once we did get some help but still had problems after that which they didn’t care about. Front desk staff rude and uninterested in customer service.

Wonderful property~ very close to GW campus & Metro.

Stayed only one night and had a good time.

This is our second time staying in this area. We loved the easy and walkable access to the Foggy Bottom station and very close to everything especially to Georgetown.

I had an enjoyable stay. I stayed here for my birthday and the staff gave me a card and a gift, which I thought that was very thoughtful. Everyone was nice and provided. Great recommendations! The breakfast actually wasn’t that bad like some free breakfast hotels. I recommend it.

Great location in Foggy Bottom. Spacious room with separate living room with TV. Good, hot breakfast. Helpful staff. Easy walk to Kennedy Center. Reasonable walk to Georgetown restaurants.

There were bugs in the pullout bed and an incredibly noisy air conditioner fan. Luckily staff was able to accommodate a room change for us.
- 4/5
We were pleased with our stay. Traveled with little kids and would be nice to have a pool. Price was decent For the room type. The mattress in the pull out needs to be replaced for better comfort.

We loved this hotel, the staff and how close it was to the metro and different bus stops.

Enjoyed the complementary breakfast

Registration desk was excellent and always helpful to find dining options, etc. The room was clean and spacious - it helps to have the living/kitchen areas. We stayed 4 nights and never had maid service even though we requested it twice so that was a negative. And of course while the breakfast is a plus the mob at breakfast makes it undesirable. But for sleeping and having a home base - it's excellent.

Everything close in to DC proper is expensive, but I would prefer this hotel, all things being equal. Great location and service from the friendly staff, room was spacious and comfortable. Just a couple blocks from Foggy Bottom Metro station so easy to get to Mall or Reagan Airport or even Eastern Market. If weather is good, it's a 15-20 minute walk to Georgetown, through a lovely area.

The staff at this hotel were absolutely amazing, we had hiccup with the room that wasn’t clean but were able to get a free upgrade. Just an all around great experience, everyone was happy to be at work which in todays society isn’t always the case. I will come and stay here again
