We had an excellent experience at this hotel. The property was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was welcoming, professional, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Our room was spacious, quiet, and equipped with everything necessary for a relaxing stay. The location was convenient, with easy access to local attractions, restaurants, and shopping. We especially appreciated the attention to detail throughout the hotel and the genuine hospitality shown by the team. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we would gladly stay here again. The property was clean, easy to travel from and to, and had a lot of choices for restaurants/shops since it was close to Chinatown. It would've been nice to have a fridge in our room since it was hot during our visit but everything else was good. Would definitely stay again

My first comment is that the area was extremely safe. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and everything is in walking distance. I would highly recommend this property to anyone you would be amazed at the quietness and the patio located in the center of the end, which is extremely peaceful and quiet. Would highly recommend.

It was wonderful. There is a door man who wears white gloves! The front desk staff were very helpful. The valet parking was reasonable at $40 something per day. The restaurant is beautiful, quiet and the food is very good. There is a very nice courtyard to enjoy! I'll be staying there again.

We greatly enjoyed our stay and will return. The staff was incredibly friendly and good at their jobs. The room was well appointed and immaculate. The location is ideal as we were able to walk everywhere, from museums to wonderful restaurants. We capped our stay with a relaxing visit to the back patio, which should not be missed. Next time we will try the restaurant.

If you need a DC hotel to keep you in the middle of everything BUT keep you relaxed and comfortable with a feeling of being taken away, this is it! Noon checkout was fabulous. Had complimentary coffee in the garden area with the little fountains and then breakfast in the historic breakfast room. Breath of air before three days of conference time and running around the Capitol.

My only complaint is the artwork in the hallway on the third floor. The pictures on the walls were scary looking and didn’t seem to match the elegance of this beautiful hotel. Even though I wasn’t crazy about the artwork, I would definitely stay here again.

The sun. After the manage reviewed the before picture’s the staff take , it was evident that the driver made the damages and tried lying at first . Shame on this staff especially knowing you all take pictures before parking the vehicle. Hopefully this gets resolved, aside from that the check in / out staff were super friendly. Hotel was beautiful, conveniently located and affordable. However the dishonest valet driver was very unprofessional and for that I would never return nor recommend. Hopefully you guys get better staff, mistakes happen how one handles them shows your character.

This hotel is a hidden gem in downtown Washington. It is small and unique. The rooms are lavish and well appointed. I stayed here often on business and now I’m using it for personal stays in Washington.

When we enter the location, the staff read it us very quickly. Ask as if we had been helped. The check-in process was very quick and the staff were so kind. They gave us a better room than what we had reserved. When we walked into the room. We discovered it to be very clean very spacious like a mini suite it was just a weekend, leisure trip and it turned out to be a very fun and relaxing trip mostly thanks to the hotel. Not to mention, they also gave me two complementary drink cards.

We almost always stay at the Morrison Clark Inn whenever we are in DC in part because we have found it a very comfortable and luxurious place to stay, but also because of its history, its great people on staff, its delicious restaurant menu close to other great restaurants, and its location in downtown DC close to museums, the Convention Center, etc. We couldn’t ask for more.

The shower head was not the best - the stream is too high. It is impossible to set it lower for a shorter person.

It's a beautifully restored historical property. The rooms are small but nice. The doors are old and authentic with lots of paint layers but gives everything character. It's a beautiful blend to old and new. I would stay there again.

I really enjoyed staying in this smaller, cozy hotel. The historic property is beautiful and the rooms were well appointed and comfortable. All staff were really friendly and always helpful. I used the gym each day and enjoyed the coffee in the morning in the lobby. Close to metro stops and walkable, as well as a nearby grocery store. I would gladly stay here again. Sometimes the water in the shower was a bit hot, especially in the early morning. But it did not bother me so much.

Lovely hotel just a short walk from my meeting location. A perfect blend of history + modern amenities. There is no coffee maker in the room which was the only downside. Staff are incredibly kind and welcoming.

Historic character with real presence I spent October of 2025 traveling through England in cottages, small quaint hotels and many were similar but without modern amenities and no elevator. This isn’t a “themed” hotel it is authentic. Built from 19th-century townhouses, you feel the architecture the moment you walk in. Think brick, woodwork, and a peaceful courtyard that feels removed from DC’s pace. Service tends to be warm and personal. Staff are often described as attentive and helpful without being intrusive—very boutique-style hospitality.

No iron, the room smelled moldy, not much space in the room, and no shop for snacks or drinks or supplies. Other than that it was okay.

There are no hooks near the shower door to hang a robe or a towel. the vanity is a bit small to lay your towel on. You have to reach in to the back wall to turn the shower on and get wet while you try to turn the handle to the proper temp. No shower body wash only soap bars. The bed was very comfortable and the staff is great.

This was such a great little find! I always look for a boutique hotel that’s unique and that’s what this hotel is… beautiful rooms and bathrooms, great lobby and bar, a nice little restaurant with great breakfast choices. The staff was amazing and they always open the door for you! The only hiccup is that the hot water can take a little bit to get going, but that’s nothing compared to the beautiful silence in our rooms and the design. And the location is perfect! We Uber’d so no review on parking.

Menu limited and not quality i had hoped for with the reviews. Bed linens were changed daily which i LOVED and room was pretty clean but old (coffee?) stain on wall and front of sink in the bathroom. They provide copious towels and soap/shampoo (didnt have to beg for more). There is no coffee machine in the room but they do have a coffee station in common area. The most frustrating part was the fact that i came with a corporate card in my boss' name for the weekend (same card i had booked under) and it became a whole thing. They tried to take my debit card for incidentals but were going to charge several hundred dollars on check in and refund later. As this was a work trip and i had been given my boss' credit card i had not anticipated needing my personal card and didn't have the several hundred dollars they tried to run through. Needless to say it was declined (as i warned staff it would be). They wouldn't take a verbal auth from my boss but needed a form filled out and signed to use corp card. Had i been aware of that i would have come prepared. Boss was driving and it made me feel like an idiot and pauper waiting to be admitted to hotel. Side note for anyone that has a hard time with stairs, there is a flight of about 15ish stairs in the lobby to get to the elevator as well as into the building. Not a problem for me but my dad came to breakfast one day and had just had a knee replacement. Door to my room didnt align w frame but i understand old hotel. Bath fan loud as jet

The elevator broke on Sunday and they couldn't get it fixed same day. Because of this, I had to walk up 5 flights of stairs. I don't blame the hotel though because it was Easter Sunday

The place is beautiful and spacious. The rooms are carpeted and clean. There were small amenities of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and hand soap available. No bathing soap was in the bathroom. The room had a mini fridge, tv, safe box, and desk. At night, my husband and I found it hard to sleep. There were vents above the head of the bed, and we heard mice running back and forth at night. Once checking in, I was told I would be charged a $160 fee for the restaurant and if we don't use up $160 at the hotel's restaurant, then I would be reimbursed after the stay is over in a few days. We had breakfast once at the restaurant inside the hotel and our waiter did ask us if we needed anything and also if we wanted more coffee and we said yes to coffee and we also requested ketchup. However he never brought it. He asked the right questions, but wouldnt follow through with requests nor refills. Overall the place is beautiful and it is convenient that there is a restaurant at the hotel, but it can use some improvement.

The staff were all incredible. Very friendly and helpful beginning to end. Our room was nice, but a bit out dated. The bed and pillows were quite uncomfortable, but everything was very clean and good overall. The elevator did go out of service during our stay, but luckily was back up by the time we needed to take our luggage downstairs. Overall, we loved the historic feel of this inn but wish it came with a few modern upgrades to make it a bit more comfortable.

The staff was always very helpful and polite. The hotel is kind of a strange layout to get to certain rooms but obviously this isn’t something that could really be helped. Valet parking was a little expensive, just over $50 per night, but it seems like it is this way with almost every hotel in the area. It is a ~10 minute walk to the nearest Metro train station and less than 5 minutes to a bus station. There are several nice restaurants nearby. Very clean and well kept for it being an older hotel.

amazing location, beautiful property, excellent staff! I was attending a national conference nearby and selected the Morrison Clark because of the great reviews, and I was not disappointed. The room was comfortable and updated, with a huge bathroom. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. And the five star service was less than 50% of the price of the conference hotel!

I visited DC for a concert. So, I stayed over the weekend. The hotel is lovely. It's in the NE area, and convenient to a lot of places. The flaw that I found was that there are no charging stations for cellphones. I only had my charging cable. I had to take my phone to the front desk for charging. The hotel should really update this.

Our first time ever visiting Washington DC and I am so glad we chose this hotel. It was absolutely beautiful and the staff there were amazing. The restaurant in the hotel was also amazing.

Morrison Clark staff are kind and helpful. This is my second stay and I found them both exceptional.

Great old hotel. My room had a smell though. Like something maybe died in the walls. The vibes are on point. Bar is great breakfast delicious fancy and beautiful lobby. Extremely wonderful staff and atmosphere is classy and fun. I loved everything about this hotel except for the weird smell in my room. Also, I didn’t say anything about the smell and I’m sure if I did they would have changed my room and tried to figure it out but I didn’t want to fuss and fell asleep in the super comfortable bed before the smell bothered me too much. Room was VERY clean for an old hotel. Bathroom was updated and nice. View into the courtyard reminded me of when I stayed in France. It’s a great little old hotel.

A really nice hotel with amazing attention to detail. Everything was perfect.

The room was well appointed but the main window was right next to the entrance and thus we had the bright sign shine light into our room all night-made it difficult to sleep. Additionally we were not given our drink coupons at check in. The hotel itself was nice though and all the staff members were curteous.

Good clean stay. Great service from front desk and restaurant staff! I appreciated how the room was quiet and safe. Amenities were nice (water bottles, some small chocolates, and 2 free sodas). Fitness center was small but just what we needed. Would stay again.

The metro is also a short walk away. With reasonable rates as well I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very quiet, and we had a peaceful night's sleep, which is always a plus for us when staying at a hotel. However, the parking fees were a bit of a letdown. While the location is great, the price for parking seemed quite high, especially considering how much I was already paying for the stay itself. Overall, it was a great experience, but I would recommend considering the parking costs when planning your budget.

The front desk people were rude. The shower took 20 minutes to get warm at 10PM and never did at 8AM. There are no coffee makers in the rooms. And the breakfast at the restaurant was overpriced and sub par. The bartender was hilarious, and super enthusiastic about the city. Overall, disappointing experience.

The hotel is lovely and quiet in a bustling part of DC- truly an oasis. But what stood out the most was the gracious and accommodating staff. Every single person made me feel like a regularly returning VIP rather than a first time guest.

The staff at this interesting fresh hotel was very helpful at every turn. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. However, the room was very small, without room to conveniently open a suitcase. Also, no in room coffee setup available, which was disappointing. The hotel restaurant is elegant with a limited menu at reasonable prices. Morning coffee is available in the lobby.

We really enjoyed our stay at this unique and charming historic Inn right in downtown DC. When we arrived we were quite frazzled after our drive in DC traffic. We were greeted by Khalid who was professional, calm, polite and reassuring. He advised us on parking, gave us directions to our event and was generally helpful in so many ways. the hotel was walking distance to our event and to many other attractions. It was clean with a very comfortable bed and high quality linens. All of the staff were very kind and heIpful and the valet parking was worth every penny. I would love to stay here again on a future trip to DC.

The staff were extremely kind and friendly. I arrived very early on my check in day, and they not only had a room available but I was upgraded to a suite. The room was extremely clean and well decorated. There is no in-room coffee or tea, and it’s only available in the lobby until 10:30am, but that’s a minor issue compared to the overall excellent quality of the hotel.

It was fine. The staff was nice. To me it felt a little too expensive for what you get. Same hard beds as even the lower cost hotels. Being historic and location should not mean you can charge 200 for a basic room. You do not even get a complimentary breakfast. Over priced.

But no, I really did not enjoy my stay. On the contrary, we are in a govt shutdown, on a weekend and i only saw 2 other guests when i was at yiur hotel. —however i still could not check in until 3 pm. Ok, i accept that is your policy and you don’t want to “spoil” the guests into thinking they can check in early. God forbid someone makes an effort to think originally. But as i said that is not my real complaint. We checked into the room and began to relax : washed faces, dried faces, drank water, etc. When i went to use the toilet it would not flush. I tried to get it to work- no luck. Front desk would not change our room- we had to wait for a plumber — in an empty hotel! The plumber or maintenance person arrived and asked if I wanted a plunger! “ No, i don’t want a plunger, YOU want a plunger.” Finally the Front desk found another room and we moved. But on our way out the maintenance man called after us “ Well, you used everything ”. I suppose meaning we used the towels and opened the water bottle. Is it our fault your plumbing does not work. Can you please train your staff not to antagonize your guests. It takes15 minutes for the hot water to work in the shower, snd there is no coffee in the room. The room was $300 a night. No, we won’t be back.

This is a charming, well kept, lovely hotel in a great spot close to a trendy University area with eclectic dining options. Just a hop, skip and a jump from museums and the White House too. This is a very sophisticated hotel without being pretentious.

Many of the staff were great! Enjoyed our breakfast there and our bartender that night, also from California! The room was a a Jr ste and was beautiful, bed comfy, bathroom nice! They only add would be phone charger near bed and replacing the stained rug. Would come again!

It was located in the heart of the city. I liked the atmosphere inside the hotel. Very professional and service was impeccable. Parking was tough but the valet service took care of that issue.

Our room, althiugh small, was very quiet, dark, and at a comfortable temperature. No loud air conditioner blasting or hallway noise. Great for sleeping in a busy City.

Only negative I have was that there was only 2 towels in room plus your hand towels and wash cloths. They need to add more towels since they don’t have housekeeping every day.

Great location, but there were big cobwebs on the ceiling of my room. They did have someone clean the room which was great but there were still cob webs even after it was cleaned. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The courtyard is a good break away from the hustle and bustle. While I never dine at the restaurant, I did order a couple of desserts to take back to my room. They were quite the treat. They do provide you with a bottle of water for your room daily. If you want ice just ask the front desk and an ice bucket will be delivered to your room. The staff did everything they could to ensure our accommodations were well met. And that is where my positive review ends. This is me being picky here. The beds are super firm with very little give. I might as well have slept on the floor. Pillows given by the desk to help ease some of the pain I was enduring only helped so much. Not knowing the lay out of the hotel. I had a hard time location my room due to lack of any postings of where rooms were located other than looking at how the numbers of the room increased/decreased. One single elevator for most of the hotel, although I saw a rear one by the restaurant with no idea where it goes to. Did encounter an issue with one of my lamps but after maintenance blamed me for having devices plugged into the plugs, which I understand is an actual issue, turns out that the light switch on the wall was flipped off. The morning free coffee bar is limited but manageable as long as it was stocked in an appropriate manner.

Friendly staff; clean room; optimal location. I highly recommend this hotel. I had a great experience with no issues. I wish their parking was less expensive. I parked off site. That would be my only negative comment.

Always a pleasure. This was my 3rd stay. I will say the concierge was not what I experienced at my initial visit. I was met with kindness from the moment I stepped out of the LYFT to my bedroom door and thought this was the standard. Unfortunately it wasn’t but the hotel itself still deserves 5 stars.

Very close to the Convention Center which was where I needed to be for the days I was staying. Plus, 9th Street has many great restaurants that are all walkable. It is a old hotel (yes, it is in the name) but I would say that from my room you could hear everyone walking around and noises in the middle of the night. Just felt like the walls were paper-thin. The restaurant was pretty good and the staff was super nice, but the restaurant was kind of pricy and breakfast was not free, which I had originally thought it would be. The bed was also very hard, and the bathroom was slightly outdated. A decent place to stay if you are on a budget.

Great hotel on the edge of a residential area and two blocks from the convention center. It has a nice restaurant with reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

There was loud noise that came on that sounded like a garage door opening and closing. I am not sure what that was about, but that went on for hours at a time.

This hotel is gorgeous, and the staff's customer service skills are top-notch; the two men manning the desk at check-in were very pleasant and professional. It was hard to leave my room and to check out at the end of my stay, as the room was so beautiful and comfortable. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in D.C.

The staff are very friendly and the place is great. If you are searching for a 2 beds in a room this is not the place. Its either a queen or king 1 bed in a room. Over-all our stay was peaceful and quiet.

The staff was so kind and helped with bags, opened up doors and always greeted you with a smile. Every day they gave us water bottles that came in so handy while we explored. There are also mini fridges in the room to keep them cold. They also gave us dark chocolate squares with the water bottles. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the outdoor seating area.

This hotel is awesome. The location is fantastic and the property itself is lovely. What makes this place special is the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful and polite. If you are someone who is unable to communicate civilly with people with heavy foreign accents, don’t stay here. I saw so many people get frustrated with staff because of their inability to decipher a non-American accent. This is NOT the staff’s fault!
