    Well located. Close to DuPont and Logan Circles. The happy hour from 5 to 6 was refreshing from a long day of site seeing. Only negative is the restaurant. A bit pricey for breakfast (breakfast was not included with our reservation) and for dinner the food was mediocre.

    Breakfast was delicious & the staff were all so nice throughout. My only niggle was the fact that there is a fab seating area outside but the bar doesn’t open until 5pm which seems a pity as after coming back from a day exploring the city it would have been nice to relax with a drink in the sunshine.

    Lovely hotel and absolutely a wonderful stay! The staff was so courteous and pleasant and surprisingly enough the neighborhood is actually pretty quiet for it to be a metropolitan area! We stayed when it was the Kimpton Rouge as well, both stays equally as great! We love the Kimpton brand!!!

    The ada accessible shower was poorly set up. The shower head locations were in bad places for access in relation to the shower chair. As well the soap tray was in a bad place. Beds were comfortable, bedding not so much. Need to have fitted 100% cotton sheets, not microfiber. Overall a nice room with plenty of space.

    Amazing room, location, staff, and restaurant. Mek at the bar for happy hour and dinner was terrific. Aaron served a delicious (free!) breakfast each morning at Le Sel. Everything about my stay was perfect. The hotel is centrally located, yet in a quiet area (that is also easy to get ride shares to/from). I’ll be back!

    The hotel also makes it look like there is a rooftop that guests can access, and that is currently untrue. It seems like there was once a bar that is now closed and it is used entirely as an event space. Some pluses were free drink tickets to the downstairs bar and discounted coupons if you dine in the hotel restaurant for 15% off. There is also free water in the lobby. There is a steamer and make up mirror in the room, which is also super convenient. All in all, I think I’ll book through IHG with Kimpton in the future. The hotel itself was comfortable but was missing some things that would have made it stand out.

    We live Kimpton and this is our new favorite. Everything was exceptional, starting with the staff who all could no have been more helpful and accommodating in every interaction. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and the restaurant - oh it was so delicious - special thanks to Helen our server! We were even able to enjoy a cocktail out front in from of the fire pit. Highly recommend!

    Room service was quick and well done, in-house restaurant was also very good and the hotel offered a free drink and 15% off which was a nice surprise. My only complaint was the morning noise. My room was on the back of the hotel, top floor, and i was awakened both mornings with garbage trucks, beeping delivery trucks, and construction noise that echoed very loudly all the way up 10 floors. If you're a business traveler up early maybe a non issue but there was definitely no sleeping in.

    The room is very spacious and clean. Breakfast is very big. Dinner is delicious though the service is a bit slow. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the noise from the parking lot side due to an ongoing construction. The bath room is huge, but the water pressure is not great. That being side, we will rebook again when we visit DC for its great location and spacious room.

They were so sincere and engaged in conversations with us and all the other guests. One of the best hotels we stayed in, it is going to be on the top of our list for our next trip to WAS.

    Great experience overall, when we brought our dog they gave him a treat as we came in and then we get into the room, it’s was very clean and nice, beds were comfortable, the staff called the room and asked if we needed dog bowls and a dog bed which was very courteous. We went out for the night and came back and got a great nights rest, we woke up and got breakfast expecting it to be a buffet but to our surprise it was a 5 star breakfast brought to us for free, it was absolutely delicious, if you go, get the eggs Benedict, it was amazing and the iced coffee is pretty good as well. Had an overall 5 star stay and will be coming back soon!!!

    We stayed here as we had an embassy appointment across the street. It was super convenient and we ended up having a couple of meals here as well. Great food and atmosphere. All the staff were wonderful. Spacious room and super clean. Parked a vehicle here also with no issues. Will definitely stay again. Great neighborhood and hotel.

    The room had no carpet, which made it feel extra clean, and everything was well maintained. It was also very quiet with great soundproofing, which made a big difference for a restful stay. The staff were outstanding; friendly, responsive, and efficient. The on-site restaurant exceeded expectations; our dinner was delicious, and the cocktails were well made. The waitstaff provided excellent service throughout. Valet service was smooth and quick, and we had no issues at all during our stay. Overall, I would rate everything about this hotel as excellent. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

    We enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton Banneker. The room was big and everything was clean. The happy hour drinks were a nice surprise. The location was great. We took advantage of the free bicycles to ride down to the Monument. The only cons were that our room was not ready at check in time. We hoped to wait for our room to be available on the rooftop, but were disappointed to discover that it is not open to the public. The pictures on the hotel site and on Expedia show the beautiful rooftop but it is only open for private events.

    On the website, it showed a rooftop patio, but when we arrived at the hotel, they said it was only for special parties. I was kind of disappointed with that. The room was very spacious. But the water pressure in the shower was a trickle. The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating.

    I have mixed reviews about the staff, while checking in everyone were awesome, I was greeted with a smile, I was given discount counts for the diner the Vallet was super nice. During checkout the employee was nor interested in looking at me, and he was a bit unfriendly. Which is a shame because the hotel is excellent and my stay overall was great.

    Breakfast portions are huge, and very tasty. All the staff we spoke to were very friendly & helpful. Beds were very comfy & we slept well. My only moan was we would have liked a coffee machine in the room, and fresh bottles of water. We could fill these in reception, and the coffee available in reception was only for a short time in the morning.

    Overall clean comfortable room, staff were very friendly and hotel was very generous with amenities like breakfast included (can choose anything from the regular menu), nice restaurant, daily free happy hour in lobby, vouchers for food/drink. Hotel was in a nice area that’s walkable to many different neighbourhoods and attractions. The bathroom amenities could be nicer/better, lighting in the rooms can be improved upon. While the area was quiet, my room was overlooking the back of the hotel and the filling/emptying of garbage bins was loud at night and in the early hours of the morning. Parking is also quite expensive if you have a vehicle

    From the second, we pulled up to the property there was somebody waiting to park our vehicle after we checked in. They even offered to help with our luggage. The staff leader at night was very welcoming and cheerful, and this is unusual to walk into a hotel and find somebody Very chipper. The area where you check-in was very clean and had a very nice lemon lime water, waiting for anybody who needed to quench their thirst. The room was very meat and all amenities were easy to get if needed. I was just very impressed with the staff at this particular Washington DC hotel. Food in the restaurant Was very good. I had the escargot and the mushrooms. They give you drink coupons and a coupon for a percentage off of meals upon check-in, which was unexpected. I will definitely stay again.

    I love the accommodation of staff, the engineering staff was unavailable to fix the tv and streaming equipment in my room so I was discounted the amenity fees and I thought that was very commendable. The facilities such as the gym could either be expanded upon or versatile in the equipment chosen, also be specific in describing the coupon and voucher requirements. Last but not least, proper updates to equipment so guest can enjoy the amenities

    It was nice and relaxing stay. Over all our waitress in the restaurant was very pleasant and the person who checked us in was nice. We had complimentary drinks that were good, we enjoyed them. The mini fridge was not as cold as I was expecting to store my milk, there was a light sconce that didn’t work in our room. The toothbrush my husband requested was very cheap, the bristles fell off and he couldn’t brush his teeth with them. I booked a stay with my husband and kids with complimentary breakfast, my 7 year old was not included in the complimentary breakfast. I also booked my stay with a 12pm checkout but was told I had to check out by 11am.

    It was nice and relaxing stay. Over all our waitress in the restaurant was very pleasant and the person who checked us in was nice. We had complimentary drinks that were good, we enjoyed them. The mini fridge was not as cold as I was expecting to store my milk, there was a light sconce that didn’t work in our room. The toothbrush my husband requested was very cheap, the bristles fell off and he couldn’t brush his teeth with them. I booked a stay with my husband and kids with complimentary breakfast, my 7 year old was not included in the complimentary breakfast. I also booked my stay with a 12pm checkout but was told I had to check out by 11am.

    This hotel pleasantly surprised me in the most wonderful way—I’m absolutely delighted. I chose it for our family vacation mainly because of its location, but it exceeded my expectations in every way. What I loved most is that it’s a small hotel, which I truly appreciated. The rooms are very spacious; I stayed in a double room and was genuinely impressed by how large it was and by the beautiful view. The cleanliness is impeccable. The service was outstanding, especially from the ladies at the front desk. Everything is within walking distance along a lovely promenade. I would definitely stay here again every time.

    This was my first stay at a Kimpton and it will be my last. No coffee service in the guest room is a deal breaker and they should be honest about the lack of this amenity upon booking. Coffee Service in the lobby beginning at 6:30am is just not good enough. I am up earlier than this and want it in my room. Plenty of other hotels to choose from - I just wish I had known.

    Very nice hotel, seems like it was recently renovated. The street side is a bit loud early in the morning due to traffic noise but nothing ear plugs won’t fix. Shame rooftop bar closed during the stay but downstairs bar is quite nice also, esp the outside area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Amazing location and great value for money. Our two queen beds bedroom was very spacious to accommodate the three of us. Will be back.

    Clean room , was cool that they had daily a complimentary cocktail hour. Unfortunately, when we arrived , we inquired upon the VIP access benefit and the free room upgrade availability. The young gentleman who checked us in cut me off mid question to instruct me to “place the card in the keypad “. I was silent as I was in disbelief that I was cut off mid question. My wife then stated if it’s possible if I can finish my question for the gentlemen. When I started to ask he then said again “put the card in the keypad “. He also did not explain the 400 dollar hold and used an overall condescending tone. The interaction left us feeling like we were not welcome at the bannaker, and it did not feel hospitable unfortunately

    I loved my stay here. The front desk and door staff couldn’t be nicer- and they have round the clock shifts so they are always available to help. The room was clean, bed comfy, the pillows were PERFECT, and the free coffee bar in the morning was a godsend. I also used the fitness room which was really nice- small but well equipped and with nice natural light and mirrors. I was on the top floor facing the backside of the building instead of “city view” or frontside, and I actually preferred this. It was quiet and still had really nice views. They give you free drink passes and dinner discount passes too. I only used the drink passes (for house wine or a small house cocktail) but the restaurant looked good. I’ll try it next time. :) The hotel is in a gorgeous and safe neighborhood, two blocks from a Whole Foods and CVS, and also two blocks to 14th Street which has literally hundreds of restaurants and shops. Highly recommend the Banneker! Thanks for a lovely stay.

    What a surprising find in DC. I book based on price and stick to the usual suspects but the prices were right and the photos/reviews looked great. We checked in at 12:30am and even though the valet was off duty, had no problem finding on street parking very close by. There was an issue with overbooking but Cassandra made it right by us and then some. The decor and vibes are impeccable and I was happy to have a location that wasn’t on a super busy road. My kids got to stay in a nicer hotel room than they were used to so that’s a problem for me in the future but I’ll definitely be looking at Kimpton Banneker next time we’re in DC.

    We stayed at the Kimpton for 4 nights during a family trip with our 8 year old to D.C. The hotel was clean, staff very friendly and the room was very large and great for a group. The room was not small with a large countertop, extra mirror and closet space and plenty of floor room to lay out all of our suitcases and not feel cramped in the room. Bathroom was very nice as well. We used the valet for 1 night which was expensive but as expected and quick service. The only downside was I had wished it was closer to a metro stop in the heat we visited during in July we ended up taking a lot more ubers than I planned due to walking distances but in cooler weather the walks would have been more enjoyable. Would stay here again if I'm back in D.C.

    Location Too noisy from street side. You cannot sleep starting from 5-30am when traffic starts. Also it was a truck loading the goods at 5-00 am on 18th of august near the hotel entrance with working engine. It was awful.

    The hotel staff were wonderful, the neighborhood is lovely and we had easy access to walking or taking public transportation everywhere we wanted to go to see the key sights in Washington. Great restaurant options 10 minutes away. Loved it.

    The location of the Hotel was good, the staff were friendly, the room was always clean and the amenities were nice. We took breakfast in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Nothing to complain.

    Nice hotel with many dining options within walking distance (10-15 min). As the hotel valet parking is pretty expensive, we chose to park at Virginia and used Uber as our daily transportation. Worked perfect, no more trouble looking for expensive parkings in DC. One small issue was the water pressure was low.

    The location was great, but the room esthetics were poor. Room was very dark with poor lighting and the pillows were poor. The lobby had zero thrills. We did dine at Le Sel for breakfast and the food taste was good, but service was slow because they seemed underhanded. Really a no frills hotel in the end. I'd give it a 2-3 stars only.

    We have always wanted to stay at a Kimpton hotel. The pictures looked amazing. What we walked into was nothing like the photos. The room was very hot even with the 2 fans we brought. I upgraded our room to city view. We saw a parking lot. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. This was a once in a lifetime trip to DC and we hated going back to the hotel because it was going to be hot, humid and smelled. The valet pulled our car up and they hit my rims on the curb. Just an awful experience. Do yourself a favor and keep looking!

    However, on check-out told there is a $25 'amenity charge per day," as standard and not optional. So a secret charge after prepaying for my room. Room was not serviced despite me asking for it to be on my way out at 1pm. The guy the front desk even called housekeeping in front of me. He said it would be taken care of. When I got back the room was exactly as I left it. No service. Room was specious and comfortable. However, due to the lack of transparency in the pricing with the hidden extra costs, I will not stay at IHG hotels again.

    Nice hotel. They have complimentary wine hour every day if that’s your thing. They also give you vouchers for a free drink and discounts on the restaurant that’s inside the hotel so thats a plus. Room was generally clean but the beds were only So-so

    We loved this hotel, very modern, easy valet parking option, great room with mini fridge, lots of space for the 3 of us. Nice touch with the welcome drink voucher and coffee in the morning. If we are returning to DC would book again.

    We enjoyed our stay, the city traffic very was loud and our fridge didn’t work, even after I told the front desk. Overall we had a great trip in the city. It’s in a great location if you want to do tourist DC stuff.

    It felt like bait and switch: there were things we expected from the website that never materialised, or were deceptive: no pool, no roof garden was not available to guests, lousy desk service, unreasonable and uncooperative parking rates, unreasonable and unexpected”amenities taxes.” Rude, snarky desk service. dishonest Free “ drink” voucher system. Limited, “unlimited” drinks. The “powerful” shower head was limp at best. Every employee expected a tip for doing nothing at all. Impossible to determine who worked in the lobby, since no one seemed to do anything or acknowledged the guests, The “food” vouchers were useless, shall I go on? I think you get the picture. We’ve stayed here many times before. But something changed. What’s up with that? We’ll find another, favorite dc hotel.

    First, the staff were lovely, pleasant and professional. The hotel is centrally located. We had a room with a seating area dn the TV was in a strange place on the wall. There were only two towels in the bathroom. No problem when I called housekeeping for more, but we were there for two days, and the second day housekeeping only made the bed and took the dirty towels. No sweeping or vacuum, no taking dirty coffee cups. I had to call to ask for more towels. Not worth the $$ we spent.

    Great hotel. I’m keen on having a clean room and this was that. All the corners of the room/ hard to get places were all clean. Liked the cold complimentary water in the lobby for refilling my bottle. Rooms have great sound proof, never heard my neighbors or hallway people. Location of the hotel is okay, it’s close the the D6X and D60 metro buses but most of the time you’ll have to do some extra walking to get to other destinations/ bus stops. Also not close to metro entrances.

    I was expecting a little more personality for our marriage relationship the way we communicate the way we go about the hotel based on staying at other Kimpton properties, they are really fun trauma and have special different decor. The room is super basic and locked amenities. In my opinion for an example no water bottles in the room no mini bar Nothing out of the ordinary no snacks and about tea. Tell you expect those amenities.

    The rooftop is closed. Excellent customer service! Love the complimentary drink with stay as well as social hour which also includes complimentary wine. The rooms are spacious but old. Low lighting in the bathroom. No complimentary coffee in hotel room.

    We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel & staff were really nice and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfy. It was clearly renovated and updated with a cool vibe. La Colombe coffee was offered in the lobby each morning which was wonderful. We were also offered drink tickets for our use in the bar/restaurant which was a nice bonus. Great location too.

    Staff were nice and the food was good. Only complaint being nothing the Hotel can control and that is the sound outside. But if you ignore all that it’s a great place to stay. Walking Distance from all the DC sites you would want to visit.

    Overall the property is clean, no frills, etc. However, the on-property roof top bar is not open to guests as advertised in the booking. Instead, it’s available to rent for events. Service at this location is sub-par. The first night I stayed, my room was not serviced and I had to ask for staff to service the room.
