Hyatt Place Washington DC/National Mall

Staff was friendly. Great location for walking around downtown DC. Only 1.5 blocks from metro station at federal center SW. Room was ok. Stains on couch made it feel less clean than we would have hopped. Some repairs needed around the room. Biggest thing was that our room was changed by hotel staff from 2 queen room with a sofa bed to a king suite. Though the upgrade was thoughtful they missed that we had 4 travelers. There were no more queen rooms available so we made it work but my kids weren’t psyched to share a sofa sleeper for 4 nights.

The hallways got very hot and did not smell good in the heat, but that would be the only suggestion to work on.

The room layout in the suite was fantastic. The breakfast was large and varied. Great location - close to the Mall and safe. The room was not as clean as I would have liked - it had not been vacuumed and did not get vacuumed throughout our 5 night stay.

Staff was excellent. The morning staff at breakfast were so nice. Check in and check out was easy fast and the staff very friendly. The water pressure in the shower. It was hard to wash long thick hair with minimal water coming out of the shower head.

The staff was perhaps the best I’ve ever dealt with, they were pleasent, professional and helpful Highly recommend it as a family friendly hotel. Great walking location close to everything.

The front desk staff was so helpful checking in and giving us some ideas of where to head out too. The hotel is in a quiet easily walkable area. The breakfast and rooftop bar were added bonuses.

Hotel and amenities were clean and enjoyable. On our checkout day we were told we couldnt get our car between 830 and 11 which put a damper on our last day and had us checkout earlier then expected.

Terrific location, walkable to main sites, good breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Room has two beds and a fold out sofa which was great with a family of four with two teenagers. Everything was clean, but some cupboards were a bit chipped and scuffed and showing their age.

This is all because of the placement of a wall mirror. In the bathroom you are so far from the mirror it is hard to put on makeup unless you stand next to the toilet. The water pressure is very weak. The breakfast was ok but the same every day. The vending machines for drinks was empty. The lobby is on the third floor. The balcony for the breakfast is so hard to sit on because of the heavy glass door. The beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly.

Beautiful cleanliness everywhere. I am sure Hyatt are planning to renovate the lobby furnishings. However, aesthetics aside, it is a large and practical, comfortable area.

Very nice room, it was large, very clean with a great view, but the AC was not functioning fully. After the staff tried, unsuccessfully, to repair it, we were able to move to another room. The hot breakfast was good and offered variety. The location is excellent; we literally could walk to our favorite attraction-The Museum of the Bible. Dinner options in the area are sufficient.

They had a great breakfast every day. And the staff was very orderly and consistent with the cleanup. Very polite and courteous and helpful. The bedding on the beds were comfortable, but they were so thin. I asked for two extra blankets. There was no body lotion which I had to ask for. There wasn’t a bathtub which I missed. But the shower had hot water. sectional in the room is very comfortable. Good location to Metro Station and closed distance to the wharf, and the museum of the Bible. The outdoor seating option for breakfast was nice or if you brought back your own food or bought something from upstairs could sit outside and that is nice. Helpful staff from some people as far as how to get around the city and questions about what to do. Some did not know.

The buffet breakfast was exceptional. The varied and large selection of baked, cooked and fresh foods was great, much better than we expected. The staff were courteous, well mannered and kept the buffet well supplied.

The location was great, the staff were friendly and attentive, the breakfast was varied and tasty, and the hotel was clean. Parking was very expensive, although we found street parking a couple of blocks away.

Everything was great except for what was available from the kitchen versus what was on the menu. We had to either leave the premises or dash everything

Room was perfect. Had a cleanup every day done while we were exploring the beautiful city. Breakfast was exceptional. Had a nightly cocktail. Staff was super friendly. Valet was prompt. And always smiley. Had food delivered and staff was so nice. Couldn’t ask for a better vacation.

The sofa bed was not that comfortable

Great location! Excellent breakfast, although we weren't a fan of the scrambled eggs. The eggs were diced into such tiny pieces, it was hard to eat. Value was great. We had a few minor things wrong with our room, but nothing to switch rooms for. The bathroom door didn't lock, the mirror backing was peeling, and the sofa sleeper was not great. The front counter seemed short staffed at times, with only one person to check people in and run the food counter. We walked away a couple of times. One time there was a line and we were there first waiting and the staffer who finally came out to run the food counter didn't ask who was there first and a rude man barged in front.

Breakfast was okay. I could’ve stayed longer in my room. I reached the hotel after 6pm.

Our stay at the Hyatt in DC/National Mall was excellent. Facility and rooms were clean and comfortable; gym had adequate weights and equipment and was very clean; breakfast was provided in your stay and was above average for free hotel breakfasts; location was excellent for walking to L'Enfant metro stop, the waterfront for dining/shopping, and museums; and staff were very friendly, polite, and helpful. This was my 2nd stay there and I'd go there again.

Decent location. Walkable to North national mall. Rooftop bar/ Restaurant and pool all closed was a bummer. Not any retail or restaurants in the area, had to walk about a mile to the Warf to find places to eat. Parking garage in on site and is secure and works well. Staff is really nice and helpful. The free breakfast buffet is really good and well done.

I definitely didn't like the fact of having to pay to park. And I definitely didn't like how the one lady working at the restaurant was not dressed professionally, hair looked unkept and shuffled her feet and looked like bedroom slippers on!

So now I have to look through and see who made the error. They said go.thru hotels.com. But they don't have a direct number so I can get a refund. So I have to spend days after my vacation trying to find out if they charged me for it. The emails from hotel.com say I only book 3 rooms. Other than that the trip was great

We truly enjoyed our stay. It was a quick family trip and everything was super close by walking distance. Have breakfast in the am was a bonus but more than anything it was perfect for what we needed. I wish I would have known the valet parking charge but it was a great stay altogether…

We had the most amazing stay at the Hyatt Place Washington DC. The staff, especially Angela and another man, whose name we did not receive, were SO gracious and accomodating for our stay to celebrate a birthday. We would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone!

Nice enough room but minimal room extras. No lotion, no notepad or pen. Housekeeping was good-good tidying and fresh towels everyday. Pretty disappointed about a 20% liquor tax/fee that was applied to my restaurant bill with no indication on the menu that this was standard. Great location and walkable to National Mall.

Lost one star for breakfast selections and lack of variety over the 3 mornings we were there. Would have liked some healthier choices, ie more fruit not just melon. Even breakfast staff was great though.

The room was clean and staff was friendly. It was in a nice location with walking distance to most monuments and attractions. It wasn’t five stars because the TVs were both malfunctioning and the landline in the room didn’t work at all. After walking all day the last thing we wanted was to make an additional trip downstairs to try and get that sorted. Other than that, we would definitely stay again. We stayed in the suite style room and it really was very nice.

The property was in a perfect location! Easy to walk to the museums and monuments. Great dining options at the wharf and easy to walk to. Staff was amazing!!! The only issue was more with making reservations through Orbitz. I didn’t realize the hotel was non refundable and no cancellations through the reservation being made through Orbitz. I purchased the trip insurance, but I did not realize that unless it’s a serious medical emergency with documentation that basically nothing is covered. That’s on me for not double checking all the reservations info more carefully. Next time I will just get a room through the Hyatt website.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, it was very clean the area was quiet, my room was spacious and clean and had a wonderful view. I love when hotel rooms have a sitting area. Staff were friendly. The continental breakfast was amazing. I think I found my favorite hotel in DC, I can't wait to come back.

Check in was seamless. Walkable for basic needs . My room was ready early which is always a treat. Very close to union station . Definitely for short term stay. Reasonable for the price .

Breakfast options are amazing, and having an espresso machine makes it even better.

Room was a little outdated. The pictures online were a little deceiving. The carpet was worn out in our room, and the mirror in bathroom was peeling all over the place. U can just tell the hotel is a little worn.

The breakfast bar was awesome. The staff was very nice. The room is clean. Have no complaints.

This is our first time to DC first time to this motel we parked our car for nice and safe off the street. Everything’s walkable and accessible everybody’s friendly and we had a real good time. Thank you.

The attraction of this location is close proximity to the metro stop and national mall. There are many rental bikes on the streets nearby. Although there are not many restaurants nearby, Uber eats deliveries are within 15 minutes of ordering. The hotel also has a nice breakfast bar included with stay. It is very convenient to fuel up for a long day of museum activities.

Service was terrible at the feotn seak and at restaurants in the hotel.

The 7 to 9 breakfast should be extended. It became quite crowded on the days that we were there, ran out of certain food or their required to stop serving. Also, the rooftop only at one server which became quite congested.

I would not call a microwave and sink a kitchen. I was very disappointed that there was no way to cook anything other than the microwave and no utensils, glasses (not plastic), real coffee mugs, cutting board etc. Just a bunch of plastic plates and bowls. The view and staff were terrific.

Great place to stay for touring DC! Staff was friendly, toon was clean, and had all of the necessary things! Definitely would stay here again!!!

Otherwise the staff has been extremely kind, helpful, and efficient. The room is comfortable and clean. Would stay here again.

We had our fifth year anniversary there. It was great. The food was great very pleasant people. The rooms were clean. Very good. Vacation will recommend five stars for this hotel.

I did not like we were charged twice for parking. I think hotel and parking attendants are in cahoots. We could not get a car from garage without paying every time for it. At the checkout they charged me again for the parking. Don’t go to this hotel!!!!

Perfect stay for a short trip.

I was not clear that breakfast was only served until 9am, neither were many others. The lady was very rude about it and walked me to the sign that said 7-9 and tapped it! It was 9:05. I sat and drank my coffee and watched as other families did the same. I then proceeded to buy a $9. Cupcake from the bar that was NOT tasty. Other than that hotel was ok. We wished we had stayed at the Holiday Inn next block. Great restaurant there called 21st Amendment.

We have stayed here before on a past trip. The location was our main deciding factor. Very comfortable and relaxing and it met our needs. Breakfast included was an additional perk as well.

Stay was nice. Water pressure in room could be stronger. Would be nice to have higher toilets seemed very low.

It was cool. Stayed for a concert at the Anthem. Was super walkable to the venue and also to the National Mall. Affordable. Free breakfast was pretty good.

Overall I liked the hotel, breakfast was good, the room was nice. Only thing that I didn’t like is that they changed me the parking from my car without informing me. They didn’t asked me if I wanted to do another form of payment.

Excellent location near major points of attraction as well as easy access to major highways for quick access to Delaware, Virginia and so much more!

Convenient and clean

We liked the walkability to the national mall, the breakfast and clean facility. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked at a Hyatt Place in Orlando for a new year trip to Universal.

The location is accessible and walkable to many attractions like museums and historical sites. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Close to everything we needed and many other things we didn’t have enough time to do. Great place! Glad we stayed here

Suite had everything for our 6 day stay… very comfortable, home like atmosphere after a long day out walking. Quiet neighborhood but everything shuts down at 5pm. Good variety of breakfast buffet each day and fresh coffee. will definitely go back to this hotel.

The bathroom doors!! They were glass!! Wouldn’t have been AS Bad if there was only one, but the bedroom had a glass door too into the same bathroom!! Bright light makes it impossible to sleep if anyone uses the bathroom!! Made it SUPER LOUD ECHO TOO! Terrible design!

parking garage is close and valet parking but you have to schlep your bags up 3 floors to check in. and they let us check in early but we left bags in the car, so then we had to drag bags up 3 floors from the basement because elevator was broken. staff told us elevator was broken but no staff was available to help with bags. elevator worked in the rest of the hotel. overall not bad, but, far from a luxury experience.

Valet service was excellent. The breakfast however was not the best. Long lines and most items overcooked and cold. Overall I would stay again.

Overall - the location could t have been better for what we wanted to do - visit museums and sightsee. However, I had successfully gone 20 years without my husband ever seeing me sit on a toilet until we stayed here. The translucent bathroom doors left ZERO to the imagination and VERY LITTLE privacy in the room as the only mirror is hung directly across from it. We felt more comfortable going to the bathroom in the lobby than we did in our own room. I couldn’t imagine sharing a room with friends!

Pretty good experience. Good breakfast, clean facilities, and easy walk to museums. Rooms and pool were tiny. Also, get real bathroom doors. No one likes the glass barn door.

The location is in the middle of almost all the attractions. The room was kept clean and all the staff were friendly and courteous.

The room was clean and the hotel was safe. Close to museums, we rented scooters and walked.

We went there for a Nationals Baseball Game took the opportunity to walk around the area (museums and national mall). Everything is really close this hotel but for the game (as it finishes late) we took a 5 minutes uber ride (15 dls) so it is a great option for game visitors. The hotel was clean, comfortable and family friendly. Breakfast was awesome and had so many options.

Great location for seeing all the capitol hill sites and walkable to the Wharf Marina. We had an oversized SUV with camping equipment and had to park far away from the hotel near the wharf which was about 15-20 minute walk. The hotel gets quite busy but check-in was smooth.

It was a nice stay

The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. The breakfast offers a good variety of food options, which was a nice way to start the day. However, it does get crowded, so going earlier is helpful if you prefer a quieter experience. Overall, a great stay with comfort, convenience, and access to all the major sights in DC. I’d definitely recommend it for travelers who want to explore the city on foot.

Our hotel was in a great location! We were very close to the Museum of the Bible and about a half hour walk to the baseball game! The next day we walked to the National mall!

check-in was easy and they provided us with a room very early, even though we were only looking for a bag-check. the rooms were clean, but they can use some updating. our bathroom door wouldnt shut all the way and one dresser drawer always slid out, which isnt a big deal unless you run into it going to the bathroom in the dark...

Food options were expensive, coffee machine was broken, and my wife and I could not stop sneezing in the room. Our noses stuffed up while we slept. We were better when we left the room. Sheets had a few stains. The staff is very nice.

Disappointed the staff never texted or room was ready. We waited until 430 and finally asked and they said it had been ready.

Everything was great! The only complaint is the shower faucets are not strong enough for someone with thick hair!

It was ok. Breakfast is only served til 9 and got very crowded and busy. Had to wait just to find a table to sit at. They ran out breakfast meat too and we got there at 8. The room was clean but kinda of on the smaller side for the price. The pool was small. The staff was very nice and attentive. You do have to pay for valet parking if you drive which I found out after booking. Overall wasn’t bad just not worth the amount of money that is cost.

Great place and location. Very unhappy that the pool was filthy, but otherwise happy with the overall experience.

Reception was on the 3rd floor with bedrooms upto the 12th and there was often a queue for the lifts/thé lift would often be full. The dining area for breakfast struggles to accommodate the number of guests with traffic light signs in the lifts advising going for breakfast early. Our welcome from reception was lacklustre with no advice given about the need to scan your roomcard for the lifts/stairwells. On arrival after a long wait for the lifts our party split up to ascend to our room. We had no idea we needed roomkeys to exit the lifts/stairs and so my husband ended up stranded in the stairwell having climbed 9floors with no option other than to return to level 1…. we should have been told of this when checking in. Our stay was fine but we wouldn’t rush to return and the night at a holiday inn the following night was 100x better

Perfect location where everything was within walking distance. The staff were all nice. The only thing I didn’t like was that my receipt said that I paid half of the balance and when I got to the hotel I had to pay the whole balance. Other than that a nice stay.
