Great location, rooftop terrace and nice staff
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was very convenient. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel and the bar. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to other travelers.
- 4/5
The location of the hotel is great, and central to everything. The overall hotel decor was disjointed and strange, not exactly welcoming. The lobby restaurant was nice and inviting. The beds are comfy. The water in the shower never got hot, it was lukewarm at best (bordering COLD!) Check in / out very smooth, very friendly staff.

The property benefits from a prime location, making it easy to explore the area. While the stay was pleasant, the breakfast offering was quite limited. Expanding the variety would significantly enhance the guest experience.

Loved the location and the staff was amazing! Everything was so convenient and easy to navigate. Will definitely recommend

The hotel was nice and in a good location. The rooms were clean but very small.

Great location and a very nice staff
- 3/5
The location is the best part about this hotel. It has potential to be a great hotel but the staff/valet associates just stand around while you struggle to open a heavy door, the lady checking in didn’t tell us about our daily credits for beverages until the end of day 2 of our stay. The restaurant’s offer strange food at high prices. The fountain in the lobby would be really cool if they cleaned it, the water smells like a dirty fish tank. The bed was amazing and comfortable I’ll give them that. Overall, really just loved it because it was so close to monuments and restaurants that we enjoy. Could definitely improve in some areas for the price.

From the time we dropped our car off at valet, to checking in, to checking out, everyone was very welcoming and very friendly! The hotel is beautiful and had a really nice scent throughout. The views from our room were incredible! Made our anniversary getaway a rememberable one! Will def be back!

We had a wonderful time. This hotel is located at the center of everything and the view was great. The staff was very friendly and accomidating. The food was spectacular!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room and the view were spectacular! Dinner and drinks at the rooftop restaurant was incredibly special. We will definitely stay there again. Next time we are in Washington DC.

Front desk staff was amazing! Great location and staff overall!
- 5/5
The room was small and while we were supposed to have a view we did not. You had to press your face against the glass to see the Monument. We were on floor 5 and could only see the Treasury Building. The show was hot and good water pressure but you could see the person showering through the frosted glass. The sink is tiny but does the job. The restaurants were good but not amazing, we really enjoyed the Hamilton across the street!
- 5/5
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Hotel Washington! The hotel is gorgeous - it feels like a special place to stay. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly nice and helpful. The location simply can’t be beat; I travelled with my sons who are 12 and 9, and it was very easy to walk to everything - and get back to the room if they needed a break. I won’t stay anywhere else in DC!
- 4/5
Everything was good, except on the last day of my stay, when I came back to my room after breakfast, unfortunately there was a bad sewage smell in the room.

We loved the location and the staff was amazing. It’s a little pricey but for the first time in DC it was worth it.

The staff was very friendly, including our French bartender :) Food was very good! Room was a bit smaller than advertised, but we did have direct view on the White House..

I had no breakfast. The location was outstanding and made it easier for me to walk to what I wished to see. When I pulled up to the hotel for valet parking, the attendant ignored me -- until a cute girl in a Porsche who was waiting behind me pulled up beside me on my left appearing to block traffic and the attendant immediately ran to her and helped her and then...he helped me get out of the road. Was it because I was a poor white old woman? Then the guy checking me in charged me $200 dollars over what it said on my booking.com causing me to use my debit card, embarrassing me while people were in the lobby. The attendant who showed me my room was awesome though and the attendant who helped me get my luggage and cooler to my car. For the money I paid I thought I would get a room with a better view, the view I had was of a rooftop where some had thrown their trash. I did walk up to the view and saw the Washington monument, a treat. I thought about eating at the view, but everything looked bar-ish, a buffet was out, but it looked private. I got 3 coupons to eat at the Fireclay, the first $15 coupon was for Friday on the afternoon I checked in, but I learned that the Fireclay didn't sell food after 2, only a bar. After I walked around DC the next morning, Saturday, I had to come inside to rest and was looking forward to maybe eating at the Fireclay and using my 2nd coupon, but no one appeared to be dining and I don't drink so I went to my room and ate what I brought from home. After being charged $200 more than expected at check-in, I wanted to make sure I had enough to pay for parking when I left for home, so I was careful about my expenses the entire trip, my first time to DC.

The staff was helpful n friendly and the workout room clean with great equipment.
- 4/5
This hotel is very close to the Mall and the Museums. Thee is plenty of quality restaurants near by and transportation. It was clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It is extremely expensive to dine in town and this place is no exception we had drinks at the rooftop bar (Vue). The view is very much worth a visit.
- 5/5
Our stay was absolutely incredible. Our room was spotless and spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our family. The location was ideal, allowing us to easily walk to all the tourist attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time with our family!
- 4/5
The Hotel is tired, the elevators are dark, old and barely functioning. This hotel needs some urgent love. Do NOT go for the rooms that lead to the inside of the hotel, they are dark and depressing, I had to get an upgrade to get sunlight! The rooms are small. Other than that, the location is very good and breakfast is also good. The staff are helpful.

We enjoyed four nights at this very eclectic hotel near The White House. The staff were excellent and our room very comfortable. Our only complaint is the bathroom facility is so tiny and there is noise coming from other guests arriving back late at night. No noise from the busy street only the hallway.
- 3.5/5
The location was excellent for visiting the main sites on foot. The Vue Rooftop bar offered a great view of the city. The bed was low to the floor and not super supportive. The restaurant Fireclay and the terrace was closed for periods over the weekend. The rooftop bar is expensive 30 dollars for a glass of wine.

Front desk - gentleman was awesome to us. Location was ideal. Pro tip - you can stack the $15/day breakfast credits! Price is excessive. No real view of White House regardless of floor despite what is claimed.
- 3/5
Location was perfect. Beds were excellent. Web site is miss leading about the amenities per room class. I suggest calling to confirm anything that is important to you. A/C barely worked, staff did nothing about it.
- 4/5
The deluxe room is pretty small, the bathroom set up is not very well done at all. You will find the smallest sink ever with little countertop. On a positive side great breakfast and coffee.

- 4/5
Loved the facilities, the lobby, and the restaurant. Also fantastic staff for the most part. The beds were a bit less comfortable than you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber. Not terrible just nowhere near great. And the walls a bit thinner. Like I could hear my neighbors way more than I’d expect.

Wonderful stay in DC. Highly recommend. Staff very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
The staff was super helpful and friendly. We felt welcome from the moment we stepped into the hotel.
- 2/5
The next room given to us clearly hadn't been cleaned after the prior guest so back to the lobby we went. The front desk agent gave us an "upgrade" for our troubles and our next room was a corner room. The room had tech issues with the lighting but, at this point, we were too frustrated and tired. I expected more from this hotel, especially given the rating, but it missed the mark by a long shot. The room was very basic and small compared to 90% of the hotels I've stayed at in DC, and I've stayed in at least 10+ from 3 -5 star. The beds weren't comfortable either. If you are looking for a 5 star experience, stay somewhere else. The only plus about this hotel is it's proximity to the white house. The food in their restaurant, Vue, is delicious, but the drinks are overpriced, in my option. Be prepared to pay around $30 for a drink. The one I had lacked depth and didn't even give me a buzz.
- 3.5/5
Chic lobby and bars. Location is ridiculous
- 5/5
Modern, clean, beautiful. In a really great location. Rooftop bar is great except VERY expensive. Room was very small in square footage to the point that it was a little hard to have two open suitcases and move around. The small room was a little surprising. However, can’t beat the location.

- 5/5
Great location, room was clean and spacious. Visited the roof top bar which was lovely. Close to lots of restaurants, shops and tourist attractions.
- 5/5
Overall an amazing place to stay when going to DC. Was able to walk to basically the entire National Mall from the hotel. And the staff was on point and extremely friendly.
- 5/5
Gorgeous property, well maintained. Staff was kind and accommodating. The suite was beautiful. The valet parking is a bit difficult but it’s nothing they can help being in a city.
- 4/5
Comfortable room, high “resort fee” add on. Breakfast was of high quality but at a high price, and service was slow. Well situated easy walk to all major attractions
- 5/5
Loved this hotel. Great location downtown. Had a cool rooftop bar. Close to the monuments, WH, etc. Interesting postmodern vibes and decor. Would return.
- 3.5/5
It’s well located in DC. Rooms are small
- 3/5
We werent unsatisfied with the room for the price we paid. The AC did not seem to work well. The pillows seemed to be a bit on the worn side. We had to request housekeeping each day.
- 5/5
Best location to explore the must see on a couple of days. Roof top bar is great with amazing views. We had brunch and were not surprised, below average eggs and onmelette. French toast was the best part. Diner was also ok, nothing great but ok Views makes up for it
- 5/5
One of the best hotels I ever stayed in loved everything about it
- 5/5
Breakfast was Chicken and Waffles. Ambience 100, Chicken 10!!! Tests comped the meal and apologized—- excellent customer service.
- 4/5
We thought the rooms were very small. We did not appreciate being charged more than advertised simply at the whim of the hotel stating it was because of seasonal rate hikes. That was totally unexpected & very extravagant.
- 5/5
I did not use the bar or restaurant, but saw others enjoying it.
- 5/5
Great service all around. Convenient location. Also 2 blocks from Metro.
- 5/5
I loved the boutique style and decor! As an influencer, I shared my experience with my followers and the hotel went above and beyond for me which was such a treat! It was right next door to the White House which I had an invitation to visit as well so the location was perfect to walk right next door! Thank you for such a great stay Hotel Washington! The prices for food and drinks were a bit hight but that’s how it is all over DC!

Bridget upstairs....made a special effort to help us. She's a goddess! If it weren't for her, we would have hated the visit!
- 5/5
The room and the bed were both very relaxing
- 5/5
Wonderful stay staff went above and beyond to be helpful and the view and food from the rooftop restaurant were delightful.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly at the concierge and valet, however; my family ate at both restaurants within the hotel and at times it felt as if we were an afterthought at both. The elevators are tiny.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed the hotel, and it met all expectations can't wait to come back next year. I liked everything, except it was hot on our floor, like 80 degrees in the hall way.
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing!! And nearby to everything! Will come back in future!
- 4/5
The location, cleanliness, staff. The white house is literally accross from the hotel, the Washington Monument is down the street. The staff were very courteous. The room was cleaned very well. If you plan to have dinner at the VUE restraunt, ask for the view Washington Monument, not the White House. Extreme soft bed mattress and WIFI issues! The bed was extremely soft for us and very uncomfortable to sleep through the night. I'm 130lbs and I was sinking in the bed. We didn't have any issues with wifi on the first day, then had trouble accessing to the wifi on the second day with the two cell phones and my laptop. Contacted the front desk three times, but all they said was to enter your room number and last name in the lowercase. The issues wasn't that the wifi wasn't available. By the end of the second day, cell phons were fine, but no luck with my laptop.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 4/5
This is a very convenient hotel and has a beautiful lobby, rooftop bar, and overall ambiance. The rooms are tight because it is an old building; similar to rooms you would encounter in Europe- think tiny bathroom, sink, shower etc. The staff was helpful and I enjoyed it. I would stay again for location and staff.
- 5/5
I loved how kind and attentive the staff was. The dining options on property were excellent making a quick bite convenient and delicious. All around, great experience.
- 5/5
My bed inn room 346 was very uncomfortable. It had a huge sag on the side where people sit next to the end table.
- 5/5
Clean room and great amenities! Beautiful hotel and love the snacks downstairs.
- 3.5/5
Over value
- 5/5
The location for visiting the museums and monuments was ideal as everything is in walking distance. The prices of hotels within walking distance of the museums and monuments is outrageous and this one was no different. Not better, not worse.
- 5/5
The Hotel Washington is a great location to easily walk to all the DC monuments and museums. The friendly staff made our family (to include grandkids) feel welcomed during checkin, eating at the restaurants and checkout. I would recommend staying at The Hotel Washington.
- 5/5
Beautiful upscale hotel. Valet is expensive.
- 5/5
It has a great rooftop bar, drinks are pricey but the view is worth it.
- 5/5

Clean and friendly staff The odd bathroom. Doesn’t fully close off and shower has a window into the bedroom you have to pull a curtain-down.
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel- beautiful, clean and spacious rooms. The front desk people are ALL exceptional, especially Marry! I will 100% be a returning guest. Prime location for food and tourism.
- 5/5
Kind and professional staff everywhere. Great location

Everything it was spacious roomie, right downtown town in a lot of DC a lot going on a lot of sightseeing a lot of activities. It was very nice. Room service was the best part of my stay lol overall I 10 out of 10
- 2/5
Service was excellent and staff super nice, friendly and top notch! My room though was not clean. I’m not a very picky person at all when it comes to that and have never complained in my life but had some issues throughout my room that were too much to not notify them about. I personally am not staying here again just for that reason.

I started there, as that is the most important part of any stay, and rarely meets expectations. Hotel Washington checked every box. Friendly staff, clean rooms, stylish, modern amenities in historic setting, amazing food, conveniently located. And did I mention the dreamy feather beds?
- 5/5
Check in was easy. Staff was very accommodating for my early check-in. The room was fantastic. The hotel is very updated. Had breakfast at the hotel downstairs and it was delicious. Easy access to different area sights. Felt very safe and good neighborhood. Shops and restaurants nearby.
- 5/5
The spa experience was amazing!!
- 5/5
The hotel was conveniently located, and all of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Firefly Bar was my favorite place to hang out and unwind. Justin, the bartender, was amazing. He made sure to suggest I visit the rooftop bar, where the views were spectacular. Definitely will be back on my next trip to DC.

Stayed only one night but wish I could have extended it. I was upgraded to a suite at check-in and it was a fabulous room with a beautiful of Lafayette Square and the Washington Monument in the distance. The location of the hotel is perfect and very walkable to attractions, as well as many coffee shops, restaurants, shopping etc. Had a drink at the Vue rooftop, service and ambience was great. Breakfast the next morning on lobby floor was prompt and the açaí bowl was good. Note that gratuity is automatically included at the restaurants. Hotel is beautiful , esp the lobby. Would definitely stay here again. N/A

The parking situation was frustrating from the start. The only option presented was $80 valet parking. I called the front desk ahead of time and was not told about any nearby garages or alternatives, just that parking was $80. More transparency would have been appreciated. When we arrived, our room was not ready and we were told it would be a while. We went to the rooftop restaurant, which has nice views. The manager kindly checked on our room and told us it would be ready shortly, but it still took hours. Communication throughout this process was poor. The rooftop restaurant and bar are extremely overpriced for the quality. This is expected to an extent, but the food was nothing special. The bar staff was friendly and professional, which was a highlight. Room 541 had notable issues. The bathroom layout is awkward, with the toilet essentially inside the bathtub area. Worse, the bathroom door does not fully close or lock, offering no privacy. That is unacceptable at this price point. The lobby ATM did not work, and every time we went to the front desk there was a long line. The valet staff was kind and helpful, but overall the experience felt mid at best. Great location and rooftop, but between the parking cost, room delays, bathroom issues, and overall value, I would not stay here again.

The room was clean. Lots of great amenities. The staff was excellent. Parking on site it was vallet only. But it did have in and out privilege. A lot of DC parking garages dont have that. The rates were high. So was the parking fees. But would i stay there again. Yes I would.

Beautiful and spacious rooms! Great and friendly staff!
- 5/5
Superb! Location, location, location! Great service, customer service...the VUI burger is to die for! Staff was amazing. Only mention is maybe turn the lobby music down just a tad, and please play soothing elevator music...ubeat pop is a little much. Perfect
- 4/5
The first room I was given was OK but the heating wasn’t working properly & it was freezing cold. I was moved & the next room was ok.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect. Love this hotel. Will definitely be back
- 5/5
Amazing stay and staff location is prime and getting around from hotel location was very easy

The room was mediocre and small, and no robe or slippers. The sink was in the room and not I not the bathroom, so weirded

- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and nice. Room, although small, had everything one could want in a hotel room for a short stay.
- 2/5
The music in the lobby is horrifying and loud. Not suitable for humans.
- 5/5
Great clean room, very comfy bed and we enjoyed the history of the hotel! Great roof top bar and enjoyed the hotel restaurant!
- 5/5
Historical hotel with super clean rooms right across from the White House and the Mall.... absolutely wonderful...
- 5/5
Great location, excellent food.
- 3/5
Maybe everything is just stupid expensive, but the food at this hotel wasn't that great as one would think for the price. Our room was supposed to be "deluxe" but nothing seemed any better than a regular room. Wierd layout for the bathroom/shower area. I honestly wasn't impressed for the cost.
- 5/5
The room was beautiful! The staff was extremely courteous and accommodating.
- 5/5
Multiple rooms 3 nights with family age 20+ to 60+. All enjoyed. Roof top restaurant / bar great. Location great.
- 5/5
Always a favorite
- 5/5
Great staff that all seemed genuinely interested in helping.

Great location and excellent service!
- 3/5
Definitely not qualified as 5 stars, maybe 3+. Dislike the bathroom floor and toilet being together, causing wet floor after shower.
- 5/5
We’ve visited the hotel several times, but this time was different. We were able to ring in the New Year on the rooftop and had an amazing time with friends. It was an unforgettable experience—being able to see the Washington Monument lit up and the fireworks made it truly special. ✨🎆
- 3/5
The hotel is advertised as a 5-star property, but in reality it felt closer to a 3-star experience. While the location was convenient and the staff was polite, the rooms, amenities, and overall service did not meet 5-star standards.
- 5/5
Didny have Breakfast. Was Buisness friendly

- 5/5
I would recommend staying here to anyone traveling to DC. This was our first time in DC and this hotel was amazing, super nice staff, very clean, elegant, and will come back. We loved it!
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and an early check in was accommodated. A cash voucher per day helped with the food bill. Roof top restaurant was awesome! Would stay here again.
- 5/5
All and location was grand. The rooftop resturant was amazing. Food was the best
- 5/5
The king suite was so comfortable for a longer stay! The Vue rooftop New Years celebration was incredible with drinks, seafood and appetizers and dancing! Spotless hotel next to the Whitehouse and all thw best restaurants!
- 1/5
Checked in to a used room filled with trash and debris. Management refused to have it cleaned because it was late and they were not able to offer another room. Disgusting. Not a 5 star hotel. You have been warned!
- 5/5
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive, making me feel welcome right away. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with thoughtful details that made the stay even more enjoyable. The amenities were top-notch, and everything was well maintained. The location was perfect—convenient and peaceful at the same time. I especially appreciated how responsive and friendly the staff was, always ready to help with a smile. The French guy at the bar is a plus!!! Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and excellent service.
- 4/5
All very good. Nice big room
- 5/5
Great hotel. Brandon at check in was delightful, lobby & room decor beautiful, valet efficient
- 5/5
First time to DC and it did not disappoint. A friend recommended the hotel so we booked it and it was fabulous. The rooftop bar has amazing views. It's definitely really pricey which makes it hard to sit and enjoy a few cocktails for the night. Would highly recommend staying.
- 5/5
amazing views… Amazing location… Amazing staff… I would stay here again
- 4/5
Great staff!
- 5/5
Bridget was amazing! Loud music got us up, do we went to the roof top bar where there was a loud party. She instantly got us a drink and a table! Nice to see a great party at a beautiful hotel!
- 5/5
Need better mattress
- 5/5
Everything was perfect, except the placement of the room. I was near the outdoor pipes and didn’t get much of an outdoor view. But overall 4.5/5. This is my holiday weekend hotel,’so I am very thankful!
- 5/5
Fantastic place to stay overall with a beautiful rooftop bar
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Washington last weekend while in town enjoying all the Christmas festivities, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of DC and perfectly situated for walking to monuments, holiday markets, and seasonal attractions. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, blending historic charm with a modern, upscale feel that instantly puts you in the holiday spirit. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed, making it the perfect place to unwind after long days of exploring the city. The staff was consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive, offering great recommendations and making us feel genuinely taken care of throughout our stay. A special highlight was taking in the festive atmosphere around the hotel—it felt like the ideal home base for a Christmas weekend in Washington, DC. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Washington to anyone visiting DC, especially during the holiday season.
- 4/5
Staff was great. Rooms were meh. Stayed overnight for a Christmas party- girls night out. First room had no doors to the bath. Second room had a view of a wall (dark) and the furniture was odd. Coffee maker was broken and only one pod. The rooftop is still one of the best in the city. Lobby bar was nice, but I miss the old one in the front which was classic and cozy. It’s a historic building and too bad it got “over modernized). Still it’s nice for DC.
- 5/5
Great service and nice room! The staff were very friendly and took care of me. I will be back!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel the roof top is awesome, the View restaurant is my favorite
- 5/5
The view was outstanding! The room was very nice and spacious for two people.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel made all the nicer by a very helpful and attentive staff
- 3/5
Room was very clean
- 2/5
-I needed the front desk several times during the stay but was not able to reach anyone at the hotel. It wasn’t until I called the hotel from my cell phone using prompts to make a reservation was someone able to connect me with someone.
- 5/5
Conveniently located near White House! Great price, Clean, Comfortable...I recommend!
- 5/5
Great location, beautiful rooms, staff were great and very friendly and the hotel is gorgeous and very well kept.

- 5/5
The room was clean and in a great location. Whenever I approached staff they were very polite and helpful.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, great location, beautiful hotel
- 4/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
First, the hotel itself is beautiful! The suites are roomy, eclectic and super clean. The staff, the bartender especially-at the FireClay restaurant was super nice! Great value and awesome experience.!!! Food was good as well, although we only ate breakfast there. Have to give it 5 stars!! Actually just book suite for Christmas!!!
- 5/5
staff was excellent
- 5/5
The room was amazing, the location could not have been better
- 5/5
The room was immaculate — clean, modern, and incredibly comfortable. You can tell the hotel takes pride in maintaining a high standard. The amenities were top-tier as well: from the beautifully designed common areas to the rooftop views, everything added to the experience. What really stood out was how seamless everything felt. Whether it was quick check-in, helpful recommendations, or the overall welcoming atmosphere, Hotel Washington made the entire stay feel effortless and memorable. If you're visiting D.C., do yourself a favor and stay here. Five stars without hesitation. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip.
- 5/5
The restaurant on the roof was so nice. The food was great. Hotel was a great location.
- 5/5
Great suite, great view, friendly staff. Clean
- 5/5
Staff were very courteous, room very clean. This hotel smells amazing when you walk in!
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff and close to the White House. GREAT stay.
- 3/5
Awesome views of the White House from the restaurant. Chic hotel vibes. Very attentive staff. Rooms are clean. Cons: Rooms are TINY! Parking is expensive (Valet only). I had charges to my room I did not make (Notice, I have not attempted to reconcile them with management as of writing this).
- 5/5
good stay
- 5/5
Room was clean and a great view. The staff was very kind, and the location is the best for a DC tourists trip.
- 5/5
Clean hotel and room, beautiful views at Vue
- 5/5
Amazing hotel with amazing service and walking distance to many landmarks in DC.
- 3/5
luckily had coupon for breakfast but even with that nephew said was too expensive. room was small for 2 people but the bathroom set up was terrible. teeny tiny sink with no space to put anything. front/lobby was beautiful but room left a lot to be desired. great location though.
- 3/5
The rooms were very small and there was absolutely no soundproofing. The people had a casual conversation in the other room and we could hear very every word very clearly at one in the morning.
- 3/5
The check in person told me there was a discount on breakfast for guests, but the staff at the restaurant was not aware of such thing and charge me full price. The waiting staff at the restaurant was borderline rude, and our waiter dropped the bill at our table before we finished eating, without asking if we wanted anything else, it felt like he wanted us to go, but then ignored us for a straight 20 minutes, forcing us to ask another waiter to take care of our check. I really had higher expectations for this hotel. The hotel itself it's beautiful and very well located, I really hope someone in management takes care of these little things, that are not a great deal, but it can impact the overall experience for future customers.
- 5/5
The Staff from Doormen, Check In, Restaurant, Bar, and Room Detail were all amazing at what they do and always smiling happy to help!! We will definitely return to this Hotel!
- 2/5
There was no closet in the room, only hangers. No thank you.
- 5/5
Awesome place!
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff friendly, good area, good amenities
- 5/5
Staff attentive and easy check in and check out Beautiful lobby area to relax. Delicious hot apple cider offered in lobby was a nice touch but empty within minutes. Staff should check and refill.
- 5/5
Lovely lobby bar with great cocktails! Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Perfect location to walk everywhere. Many great restaurants and attractions nearby
- 5/5
Great staff, great location
- 5/5
The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We were not able to use the spa or the roof top or the food because of other commitments. The staff was very helpful with all our many things we brought with us. We would definitely stay there again when we are in town
- 3/5
Beautiful hotel: Visually appealing and likely well-maintained. Daily housekeeping: Consistent room upkeep. 😕 What Didn’t Work Uncomfortable beds and cheap furniture: Basic amenities didn’t meet expectations. Small sink: Possibly inconvenient for daily use. Toilet paper issue: Housekeeping missed a crucial detail, and follow-up service failed. Front desk staff: Polite but lacked warmth or hospitality. Parking costs: $72/night for valet and $50/night for nearby parking felt excessive.
- 2/5
Never again. I booked this hotel for the convenience because I had an event to attend. The hotel is filthy. A guest spilled food in the elevator and it still hadn’t been cleaned upon checkout 3 days later. Towels were old and there were gnats everywhere at the bar. I couldn’t enjoy my drink. The beds are comfortable and the housekeeping staff are lovely! I won’t be back because the price certainly isn’t justifiable!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great location and nice hotel. The view was awesome.
- 5/5
Excellent location for sightseeing.
- 2/5
The room we were in was so small it hardly fit the two queen beds. We were in DC for 5 days; there was no room to store our clothes. No closet. The coffee maker didn't work. Room service seldom left the appropriate coffee pods. They were skimpy on towel provisions and bath amenities. We are a married couple in our mid-seventies & small people. The shower was so small and dangerously slick I was concerned that one of us might fall and break a bone! There were no safety bars at all. The potty was only about 18" tall and set in a very small confining corner. Overall the room was not worth the money. The location was a great place for tourists, is all I can say positively.
- 3/5
It was ok. Parking was not super great and the view I had wasn’t worth the price of the room
- 5/5
Everything was absolute perfection!
- 5/5
Perfect location to see all of the monuments including having The White House a 5 minute walk away. Staff very friendly and facilities very clean. I will be back!
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 5/5
Great time and extremely helpful staff. Thank you
- 3/5
I booked a delux suite and I'm not sure what was delux about the room. The room was extremely small and the view was of the US treasury building across the street. At check in the front desk clerk was hard to understand and I had to provide my card again for $244 hold fee while only $200 would be returned. I already paid for the hotel room online and was was confused on why I was being charged more. No on site parking offered other than valet parking which was $70 a night and limited street parking. Room service was 30% additional taxes plus additional $7 for delivery. Good location for downtown experience.
- 5/5
Safe - great people Highly recommended

Gorgeous hotel and perfect location! We stayed in a monument suite and our view was spectacular. Incredible service from the front desk and bell staff. Fabulous DC hotel!

Beautiful place. Amenities way OVER PRICED. Insult to injury the 30% surcharge for gratuity and 10% on top of that for sales tax
- 4/5
Very good when it comes to the service and general hospitality.
- 5/5
Convenient to everything, walkable!
- 5/5
It was great from start to finish. The front desk receptionist was super accommodating and even gave me a nice gift for my spouse’s birthday. The bellmen were nice, fast, and attentive and the staff at the outdoor bar were all entirely great!
- 5/5
Best hotel in DC by far. Staff was incredible. Special thanks for Brandon for making the stay extra special for my gf and I. He went above and beyond making the trip unforgettable
- 3/5
Also charged an additional night "resort charge" for each night of cUS%50 including taxes but only informed on check out and the actual benefits you could have had from this "resort tax" so no benefit to us except free Wi- Fi - on a $1,000 a night room it is a 5% tax but on a $200 room it is a 25% tax
- 3/5
Very expensive for the 2-3 star service. Food and beverage more expensive than priciest restaurants. $27 for basic cocktail. Great location and nice hotel though. Would look for alternative next time
- 5/5
Hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly. Area is very walkable and was pretty quiet considering location.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent. Room was immaculate. Great place, well worth the money
- 5/5
Wonderful staff and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
- 3/5
Room was next to electrical room and it was making noises all the time
- 5/5
Right across the street from the White House all the memorial and museums, this is a perfect spot one visit Washington DC and get the most of it
- 2/5
Not so good things. Ridiculous prices. The downstairs bar and upstairs bar were crazy over priced and I mean waayyyy over priced. Our shower door didn’t close all the way so it would leave huge puddles. There was some sort of storage room or something above our room because at 1am everyday we could hear furniture scratching all and being dragged in the floor. Our with a view room was a lie. It was competed blocked by a tree. This is the kind of place that’s only worth it if your business if fronting the bill. There’s so many nice options that are much cheaper. I would never stay here again
- 5/5
Great View, Safe and polite. Fun place
- 5/5
Very cordial and welcoming
- 5/5

- 4/5
Rooms are small, even by city standards.
- 5/5
All round excellent service
- 5/5
First time in DC and this Hotel made this trip even more enjoyable. Great room, views, staff and amenities. Definitely would recommend.
- 5/5
Really great location. The view from the rooftop at night is beautiful. Ask for the robes because they are so comfy.
- 5/5
Accessibility and location
- 2/5
Hair in shower Overcharged at checkout Slow email for correct charges I still don’t have a receipt for my stay, 2 days later Shower floor very slippery, wife almost fell twice.
- 4/5
The staff member when we checked in did not give us the same thorough info given to our friends who were also checking in. She left out all the info and we had to join our friends for the overview/amenities of the property. The room was not as described. The bathroom had two problems: leaking shower door with water running into the bedroom (fall hazard) and a broken toilet seat. The roof top bar very overpriced. Two gin and tonics $100!
- 5/5
Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful
- 5/5
My wife and I went to DC for her 40th, staying four nights at Hotel Washington. We opted for the suite with a sitting room and views of the Washington monument. The view was great, and the hotel was very conveniently located, with the White House and Washington monument within a couple minute walk. The hotel and room was nice and service was great. Clean. For $530 per night, I expected closer to Ritz rooms, but it was definitely upscale.
- 5/5
Food was perfect!
- 5/5
Very attentive staff. I would even give the Valet and House keeping a 6th star.
- 5/5
The hotel's location made exploring the city a breeze, it was conveniently located within walking distance of popular museums and landmarks. The hotels rooftop bar is pretty pricey but the drinks were awesome.
- 4/5
outside of our window. Museums were in walking distance. Good food places as well. Nice rooftop bar with great scenery. Only downfall I can say is parking is $70/ night & no pool. Overall my stay was good.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
Amazing place! Absolutely love it! Especially the rooftop dining with the Whitehouse view 👌
- 4/5
This hotel is in a perfect location for seeing DC. You can walk everywhere. The only thing I was not happy with is being on the 8th floor. That floor is right below the restaurant and it can be noisy at night.
- 5/5
The staff at Hotel Washington were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The breakfast area looks out onto the city. The food was delicious and served hot and quickly. Our favorite hotel in DC!
- 5/5
A fabulous hotel, ideally situated for all the sights of Washington DC, particularly the White House which is just a short walk away. The staff were attentive and there was a nice friendly ambiance to the establishment. The home comforts are all available and the hotel is surprisingly quiet at night, perfect.
- 5/5
Exceptional staff, great service and location
- 4/5
The rooftop restaurant too expensive!!! The valet parking $70 per night! That is insane!!
- 5/5
Perfect location. Extremely comfortable bed ;-)
- 4/5
Beautiful property. Enjoyed the rooftop restaurant and view. We booked a standard room and were surprised to find the shower was a frosted glass enclosure out in the open. Was not a big deal for us but might be an issue for someone traveling with kids or friends. Ladies they had rain shower heads with very low water flow, will take you ages to wash your hair if it's long.
- 5/5
Central to everything, very walkable city straight from the door. Big Bus stop right outside, pleasant staff, room cleaned daily and supplies topped up , free bottled water. Metro central station close by. Cheap and easy and safe to use just tap in and out with credit card. Walgreens a couple of blocks away, also Mac Donald’s and sandwich shops for cheap eats, more expensive restaurants locally, plenty of choice. Walk round the floodlight monuments at night. Felt very safe areas . Only a few hundred yards from White House and Washington Monument. Arlington excellent to visit. Metro straight to Arlington blue line towards Springfield. Bed and pillows really comfy, coffe machine but no electric kettle. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer provided. Recommend hotel and would stay again
- 5/5
One of the best hotels in DC for sure.
- 5/5
Location, amenities, bars, staff
- 5/5
Absolutely love this hotel. The staff is amazing, will definitely stay here on our next visit.
- 5/5
Beautiful property conveniently located near the White House. Close to monuments, museums and other points of interest. Staff is professional and friendly. This is the place to stay when visiting our nation's capitol.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Would not recommend a regular size room. Very small walking space only around bed so we upgraded for an additional $500 nightly for a room that we could move around. Excellent location
- 4/5
I absolutley hate Nespresso and the first machine in my room was broken. House keeping swapped it out for a new one, which worked, but it would have been better if it were a regular coffee pot. Room service coffee is $19 for a pot that gives you 3 small cups. It is what it is and not a deal breaker. Room was small but very well kept. Only two small complaints were the king bed has seen better days, there are indents showing where people have slept over the years and broken down the mattress. It wasnt very comfortable. Other complaint is that I was on the 10th floor and on the weekend nights the music and base from the bar above was very noticeable. Luckily I was still able to fall asleep after a bit, having had a few cocktails at said bar. But someone who is a light sleeper may be irritated. Nice hotel, just wanted to explain why I gave 4 stars overall and not 5 stars.
- 5/5
Would absolutely stay here again! And the roof top patio bar has beautiful views!
- 5/5
The location of the hotel in downtown is ideal for seeing the monuments/musuems. The suite room was large and ideal for an extended stay. Julien, who worked in the patio and fireclay restaurants, was especially hospitable. The entire staff was friendly and accomodating.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay! Shout out to Emmanuel and Omar who always made us feel like old friends when we went to dine. They made our day!
- 5/5
Well located, close to historic sites
- 5/5
One block away from The White House
- 5/5
We loved how friendly the staff was, the restaurants were great (taste amazing, portions are good too), and we loved the vibe.
- 5/5
Clean Room and Great Staff
- 4/5
The staff were helpful and great. They were very accommodating when i reached out to them. For example, i hurt my knee and they had security delivered an ice pack and extra ice. Staff were friendly. When i requested for extra towels, they were very accommodating. I would have given a 5 star but my issues was the room layout/design was poor. The toilet is soo low and inconvenient. There is NO counter space, it was such a small space with a small sink that water splashes all over cuz it leans more to the left side. It was just awkward. Their shower door did not close properly so it leaked water all over the floor (hence the request of extra towel to dry the floors) and toilet bathroom door did not close properly either. Again, they were so great offering to send maintenance but since we were leaving the next day, we told them it was okay and wanted to inform them so they can fix it before the next guests. Overall, the place/ambience of the hotel is great. Staff excellent.
- 5/5
Excellent property, would stay again
- 5/5
Very convenient
- 5/5
Nice property. Friendly staff. Conveniently located within walking to all museums, White House, capital and monuments. Provided free water bottles and umbrellas every day. Very helpful.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service! Within walking distance of White House, Washington Monument, and good restaurants.
- 4/5
I waited patiently in the lobby for over an hour, watching other guests check in and receive their room keys immediately. Eventually, I approached a different staff member, Brandon, who checked me in right away and was extremely apologetic. He remained helpful and professional throughout the rest of my stay. What disappointed me most was the lack of acknowledgment or apology from the original agent — she walked past me later without a word. It was clear we had been forgotten. Brandon’s excellent customer service was the saving grace of this experience. Without his help, my overall impression of the stay would have been very negative. However, due to the check-in delay and the impact it had on my schedule, I’m unsure if I’d return. Communication and accountability are critical in hospitality, and unfortunately, those were lacking at a crucial moment.
- 4/5

DC. We booked last minute and weren't able to get a double bed option. We thought we could handle a smaller room, but then quickly realized we could not. The only option was a suite, and it was completely fabulous!!! One of the best suites I have ever stayed in. The staff at this hotel is second to none. They are friendly and helpful. From Bryant at the front desk to Faustino, our wonderful bellman, and Oscar, our waiter for breakfast, they all contributed to our wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this Hotel!!
- 5/5
Great Location!

Would recommend 100%
- 5/5
Highly recommend! The room was perfect and so comfortable. The service was top notch. Perfect for a couple!!

Hidden fees and a discount for eating at the restaurant was advertised when checking in. But after eating at the hotel restaurant. No discounts were applied . Con job.
- 3/5
Small, but expensive, rooms
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and amazing staff
- 3/5
Not clear as to way this property has this star rating. Noisy hallway, tiny bathroom sinks, service too informal, (told I could only get breakfast to go, 10 min prior to breakfast closing) expensive restaurant but average quality
- 5/5
We loved the central location which was the primary factor in choosing Hotel Washington, but we'd also visited Vue Rooftop during a previous trip which was another consideration. We were impressed with the hotel from the moment we checked in: The staff were outstanding, friendly, and very accommodating! We enjoyed all of their onsite dining facilities, and the quality of the food and beverages was top notch. It is the perfect place to stay in Washington D.C.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel! The staff was very professional and helpful. The location is as convenient as it could be. All of the restaurants are fantastic. And the view from the monument suite is incredible. I highly recommend this hotel!
- 4/5
Staff was wonderful and accommodating. Even surprised us in the room with chocolates and champagne for our anniversary!
- 5/5
Perfect renovation and practical, very clean.
- 5/5
very good
- 4/5
Beds are not the best, unique decor, very odd layout for bathroom, great location
- 3/5
Room was very small with a terrible view of a wall.
- 3/5
The property is beautiful and easy to locate, and an easy walk from the Metro rail line that goes to/from the airport. Check-in was a breeze and staff were all so kind and sweet (there is valet parking available if that’s your style). Rooms are very clean, beds are comfy, and the shower was hot- all good things, the sinks are small though. Housekeeping was great, came everyday, all was well. BUT. Be aware, this is a large, and popular hotel. So there’s convention rooms, space for weddings, etc. which means late night partying and loud neighbors, which may not be best for families, or what some people are looking for. And because this is a large convention-center style hotel, it’s a tourist trap. Nothing is included, food and drinks were mediocre, and my Manhattan cocktail was $42. Yep. $42 and that’s not even with top-shelf liquor. So if you stay there, my recommendation is to be prepared to leave the property/the area to get out of tourist-town and crazy tourist prices. Other than that, great hotel, great experience, everyone was very kind.

We ate one breakfast at the hotel. The food and service were very good. The rooftop bar was a bonus in the evening. Terrific views. Our bartender, Leandro, was the best. Friendly and engaging, he knew his rum! We look forward to seeing him next time!

The only thing we didnt like was having a see through shower in the middle of the room. Awkward if you are not a couple

Great location and staff. The rooms were very small but remodeled and clean. Overall loved the hotel.

We stayed in a 2 queen bed suite. The bathroom was terrible - not really functional. There was NO bathroom counter space- it was a tiny triangle that held the sink and that’s it. The toilet was like a toilet out of a RV-I couldn’t believe it! Also you MUST use their valet for parking which was an additional $80 because we had a SUV. You could get your vehicle whenever you wanted but they looked at you like they expected a tip when they retrieved it and when you dropped it off again- so spent another $50 in tips! We will never stay there again.

The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming, especially the barmen and restaurant staff. Our room was very spacious . The bed was exceptionally comfortable. We loved the view from our room. The location was perfect and many of the sights we wanted to see were within walking distance. The breakfasts were delicious (lots of choices ) and was delighted to be able to have a cup of tea!
