    The location was the most positive thing about the stay. The staff gave us a terrible explanation of why we were given a room that we didn't book. The Front Manager said they take bookings from third parties but do not guarantee the same room- in other words we will take full money for your booking but we willl not provide you a room you paid for. I stayed at another Hamptons Property in Miami and gosh the rooms and everything about it was fantastic. DC property felt like a terrible and a sad excuse for prioritizing direct bookings over bookings made on third party websites. I'm sure I will get a half hearted excuse from the management while expecting the guest to return to the property. One advice to DC property- learn from Team Hamptons Miami what guest service should look like. Also, please be mindful of vegetarian guests- no vegetarian guests would like scrambled eggs simmering in the same dish with bacon- that's a big No No! There are some three star hotels that don't know how to serve breakfast- meats don't go with vegetarian option (especially when the options are very limited)- again take a cue from Team Hamptons Miami and don't mix and match menus, please!

    I wouldn’t stay here again. Inaccurate website description. No restaurant, functioning bar, or ATM. $60 mandatory to valet but I was charged $100 in reality. Red mold all over the shower head. Musty, old smell in the room. Staff was not at all helpful. For well over $200 to stay, this is not at all worth the price.

    Stayed in this facility for two nights for Memorial Day. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was okay. Staff were helpful. There was valet parking on site. Walking distance to the National Mall. There was a big grocery store around the corner. Nice to stay there. I recommend to stay in this hotel.

    The bathroom in our room was a bit dirty; the toilet paper rolls were half-empty, and there was no drinking water in the room. All in all, a 7 out of 10. In an email the hotel sent a few days prior to check-in, it was stated that parking services would incur an additional fee of $59. However, upon arrival at the front desk, we were told that this fee was $59 *per night*. It was a rather unpleasant and ill-timed clarification.

    The staff are amazing and friendly and helpful. You have to Uber to get around town but the drivers are friendly and helpful. There’s a really good restaurant across the street that has all kinds of food, normal prices you’d find anywhere nowadays. I’d stay again for sure

    Great location to the city. Our room was clean and pleasant on check-in. The every other day cleaning was adequate except for the bathroom floor not being cleaned. Our issue with the property was security. We returned to our room after an 8 hour day out and found our room had been left open by housekeeping. The door lock had been turned for easy access by house keeping but was not secured when finished. Have never had an issue such as this before.

    On the second day, the bathroom ceiling developed a large water bubble which suddenly burst and released a significant amount of water directly onto my 8-year-old child. It was a very distressing situation. We have video evidence recorded immediately after the incident showing water continuing to flow from the ceiling. The source of the water was unclear, which raised hygiene concerns as it could have come from plumbing or drainage systems. While the hotel changed our room, the overall response was not adequate. The only compensation offered was a one-day parking refund, which did not reflect the seriousness of the incident. I strongly recommend the hotel review its maintenance and response standards. This experience significantly impacted our stay.

    If someone is going down from the 5th floor to the 1st floor at first, and another person pushes the button to go up at the 3rd floor, the descending elevator stops at the 3rd floor and begins to ascend. It needs to be inspected.

    When I first entered to check in. I saw the biggest brown roach by its elevator. I mean I was so stunned I didn’t say nothing. I was hoping it wasn’t gonna crawl up when taking the elevator. So yeah.. the rooms was great. The food didn’t have all the specialty a usual Hilton/hampton has. The elevator was tricky and frustrating.

    It’s exactly what you would expect for the price. The location is excellent and very safe. While the hotel is a bit dated, it is clean overall. Breakfast is fairly basic just enough to grab a quick bite if you’re on a busy schedule. Seating is limited, so you may have to wait if you arrive later. However, there were a couple of issues during our stay. After leaving a cup of coffee on the desk for a short time, ants quickly gathered around it, which was concerning. We chose not to request service at the time since it was late. On the second day, the air conditioning stopped working and did not function for the rest of our stay.

    Checked in was not smooth. Can’t open the door, had to go down to receptionist twice and stood outside of the room for more than 30 minutes till maintenance came to fix the door. Reception was not friendly and not helpful. The towels are old and tough, AC was loud. Breakfast area was always crowded. Key card in elevator never worked.

    The location was great and a nice breakfast The elevator would not go to the 2nd floor from our floor 3, which resulted in taking stairs. Me & children were ok with walking 1 flight of stairs but may be for an elderly or disabled person. 2nd floor was fitness room and laundry room. did not reach floor. We stayed for 3 days, 2 nights and our beds were not made or trash collected. We were also placed in a handicap room which I did not book. Shower head was loose which cause water to leak into the floor with use. Called front desk and a technician came within 10 min and fixed.

    Hotel is clean and close to a lot of dining.Far from main attractions we made the mistake of walking and I do not advise it lol.There is no pool, and although it's a dog friendly hotel everyone there is afraid of dogs and the dog deposit is 75.00 NONREFUNDABLE :/ the valet was very nice , but they charge 65 dollars a night to park at a hotel we already paid to stay at.The breakfast area was extremely crowded everyday, and very long wait to use the waffle maker.Breaskfast was free and adequate, so that was nice.I would probably stay again, but next time I will park around the corner at the 10.00 a day lot and dave a ton.

    Location. The bedding and towels were very old and in poor condition. The bed sheets were not properly made, and we had to fix them ourselves when we arrived. The towels were worn out and rough.     The bathtub was peeling, which is a huge turn-off. The room has very thin walls, so the alarm next door at 5:00am woke us up three times. The location paired with the thin walls and windows made for very unrestful and often interrupted sleep with all sorts of sirens and the going up and down of the elevator cables.It was a better morning to see all the guests the next morning at breakfast. The eggs were not great, but the waffles and the coffee, along with the scones, were great!

    My family and I had a wonderful stay at this location. The rooms were very clean and fully stocked with the basic items we would need. The beds were very comfortable, and the street view was great for my small children who enjoyed watching all of the cars and people walking by! The breakfast provided in the mornings were delicious and appealed to all in my group (we have a member with Celiac who was able to eat with no problem). The staff were all very happy and helpful during our stay. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying again for future visits to DC!

    The beds were significantly smaller than expected, making it uncomfortable and impractical for five guests to sleep properly. This did not match the room description provided at the time of booking and affected the quality of our stay. Because the room did not meet the advertised capacity, I am kindly requesting a partial reimbursement for the inconvenience.     Room was so comfortable and clean! Only noticed what looked like urine stain on back bottom of toilet. Loved the “zero %” brand of shampoo, etc. Breakfast was good and plenty of seating area which was also well kept. One bummer, we asked if we could check out just one hour later, there was fee. Would definitely stay here again though.

    I usually never have any issues with Hampton Inn’s & always consider them clean & safe. This trip changed my view. For clarity, we stayed Sunday evening- Wednesday morning. Check in was rough & took a while- payment was poorly explained by the staff. The room was clean upon arrival & set up nicely. Tuesday night, a cockroach looking bug was crawling around the bathroom. The mini fridge was not working and had an awful odor. I will not be staying at this Hampton inn again as I am very disappointed. It probably would have been fine for a quick 1-2 night trip, but we were disappointed.

    The staff at the reception desk while Checking in and checking out were unfriendly. Checking in the girl was more interested in the people beside us than us and checking out the man in the mask was about as friendly as a wet face cloth. He didn’t ask how the stay was or how the room was, nothing. When I asked about getting our cases looked after for a few hours he simply pointed to the doorman who was fine.

Since the parking is first come first serve valet and was sold out at the hotel on Spot Hero we booked a spot 2 blocks away because when I called to ask they said there was no way to reserve or guarantee a spot there. It would be nice if you could reserve a parking spot when you book a room if parking is that limited. I did not want to risk driving from out of town for an event overnight and not being able to park my car near by

    The bathroom was not in the best condition. Offered another room and same situation. The greeting was cold at check in and at checkout John was abrupt, no greeting, kurt, didn’t ask how stay was or thank us for staying. Had to confirm I was properly checked out .     In the morning, I went to the front desk to request a room change. Unfortunately, the employee assisting me was extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. He avoided eye contact, kept his head down the entire time, and had a very unpleasant attitude. While he did change the room, he issued a key that didn’t work. I had to come back down twice, only to be told he couldn’t provide a working key, which left me unable to properly access the room — especially frustrating since you need a key to move around the hotel. This experience was very disappointing. Cleanliness and basic customer service are essential in the hotel industry, and this location fell short in both areas. The staff could benefit greatly from additional training in hospitality and guest service.

    Blanket had blood stains. I found out around 2 am and could not get back to sleep. When I told them in the morning, they were just 'oh sorry' and told me they will replace the entire bed sheet. When I came back to hotel at night, it was still not changed. I requested again at the front desk (this time the guy in the front desk was nice) , and in 30 minutes housekeeping guy came to my room and gave me a bed sheet (no blanket) in my hand and left. They didnt even replace it, I just covered myself with bed sheet and slept. It was horrible!

It was a perfect location for catching a game at Capital One Arena or taking the train to other area tourist spots.     The condition of the room added to the poor experience. The space felt outdated, was not properly cleaned, and had an unpleasant odor. For the price paid, the overall quality was far below reasonable expectations. Based on this stay, I cannot recommend this property to others. The combination of unacceptable customer service and substandard room conditions makes it difficult to justify the cost. This is my honest and candid review of the experience.

    when we headed to the elevator… one elevator car was out of service. once we arrived in the room… very clean, roomy and has everything we needed…i love the room and the bathroom except there was no vent/ working vent. walkable to capital one arena which is A plus! breakfast was fantastic could not ask for more! from waffle, bread, cookie muffin fruits hot/ cold cereals eggs sausage potatoes. i also love the 24 hour coffee station. i would return :)

    The location is perfect and walkable to the metro. Breakfest is great and the cleanliness of the hotel was great. Room was great as well. A couple downsides are the following. There is a firehouse within a block’s distance. So the ambulance /firetruck may be running late into the night/early morning. The ac in the halls are set to super low and prepare you for the outside. Overall will stay here again. .

    Staff is very friendly and there is lots to see and do nearby. You can just walk to the Smithsonians and monuments, or catch the Metro just a few blocks away. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again.

    Clean room but bathroom door was swollen and didn’t close without force. During our stay, Housekeeping missed cleaning our room so we needed to request clean towels and toilet paper when leaving the hotel in the morning. But, these were provided when we returned to our room in the afternoon Breakfast was good and I appreciated the breakfast staff for their attentiveness to ensure that the guests were taken care of. Overall, the hotel staff were professional in their interactions and making sure that the needs of their guests were met.

    The breakfast and location is the best thing about this hotel. The hotel is very old and they have updated but our air conditioning unit was so loud and one elevator went down and it took forever to get an elevator. It was a very clean hotel. The valet parking is expensive as well.

    A life saver. Wonderful staff, laundry was great to have as an option, breakfast was wonderful, room was spotless, I slept like a rock there. Walked pretty much everywhere fairly easily. Would highly recommend. My only thing was I was charged a 100$ a night for my security deposit and that adds up immediately really. Other than a large deposit that I do expect to get back, amazing and totally worth it. Just plan to have the money for the deposit!!

    Overall really enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn-Washington DC-Downtown--Convention Center. Convenient location just a few blocks from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro station, short walk to the Capital One center, walking distance to a number of restaurants, 15 minute walk to the National Mall area (National Gallery of Art-West). Clean facilities, great complimentary breakfast, comfortable and clean room. Would definitely consider staying there again in the future.

    Good hotel for the price and great location. The hotel is located near shops, restaurants, and Chinatown. The staff (Christopher, desk clerk & doorman) was very attentive. They made you feel welcome. As a recently renovated hotel, the room was nice size and clean, however, it would have been nice if the toilet in the room was part of the renovation to include chair height toilet seat versus the existing very low toilet seat. Also, if they could have upgraded the hot water system to ensure guests have ongoing hot water at any time ( my 1st night there was no hot water). One great benefit was the complimentary hot breakfast, which included a variety of breakfast food, including making your own waffle. The breakfast was very tasty. Overall, it is a nice hotel and I was satisfied with my stay.

    The check-in process was great, the young lady at the front desk was so sweet. Our hotel room door was insanely hard to open anytime we went in or out of the room. It was REALLY hard to open from both sides, I actually hurt my shoulder trying to pull it open.     Breakfast: Is it normal to have the plates, cups, knifes, forks, spoons etc disposable? I have not seen that before. I thought that was particularly poor and I would not have thought a Hilton property would do that. On the first day it looked like the oranges and apples had been sitting there for days. A good enough variety offered but nothing special. Room: Standard. Basic. They could have put a couple bottles of water in the fridge. It was empty. Location: Perfect location. Proximity to all you would want to see. Very walkable. China town (run down with about at most 12 or so restaurants) is a 5-7 minute walk.

    But - our ac started rattling at 10pm (they came to fix), conditioner was empty in shower (they didn’t have anyone to send up we had to go down to retrieve some), no housekeeping during our 2 day stay, two pillows with no filling (they only had one replacement and we had to walk to front desk to swap), no regular coffee in room (only decaf - we had to walk to front desk to retrieve). We stayed on a busy weekend - seemed understaffed and staff was doing as best they could - but, for the price, wouldn’t stay again.

    I then encountered a gentleman who was working as the valet. We went outside and I complained to him, I couldn't hear the person who checked me in. He asserted that he tries to mind his business, but also informed the customer service person that maybe you should speak louder on one occasion to assist her. He said he doesn't want any conflict, and it's not his business. He did his job well and gave me numerous unsolicited information concerning the valet process. I don't want the customer service person to get in trouble, but perhaps her having some additional training should stress the importance of customer service. I understand that this generation has its challenges, but I truly don't know how they take a customer service job and not even "act" like they are welcoming or happy to serve. If the training doesn't work, maybe customer service isn't for her. At the least, please speak to her and stress the importance of customer service. Thank you, Dr. Brown

    The front desk staff were a little short with me. I called to inquire about the valet, and the guy literally cut me off in the middle of my sentence before I could finish and then abruptly said goodbye and hung up the phone. Also, when I requested toilet paper. The guy behind the counter just said I’ll bring some up but they never showed up with the toilet paper I had to flag down The maid staff just to get some toilet paper.

    We stayed there a few times. One issue this time was that air condition maintenance people entered our room anyway without notice even if we hanged "dream away" on the doorknob. We did not receive advance notice of such maintenance arrangement either.

    My stay was ok- the front desk staff seemed depressed and overworked. I called down because I had an issue with the thermostat (it was making noise). I was told “use the unit under the window” and he hung up. I called back down to let them know it was an issue with the unit on the wall and before I could say anything he says “we’re sending engineering up- BYE!” I never felt so disrespected by hotel staff so I went down to the front desk to see what his issue was. At that moment he felt the need to tell me how many rooms were in the hotel and that he was the only person working. Definitely not a reason to be rude. A little kindness goes a long way. Thank you to the engineer who did come up to reset the unit- he was pleasant and personable (as was that man who checked me in). You may want to double up on your evening staff if one person can handle a busy night in a downtown hotel.

    I would not stay here again. The website made it seem like you had other options to park except for ballet and that is not the case you have to valet or you have to park very far away their website website also says they have a charger for your car, it should say in details that they can only do a Tesla. My car is not compatible. That was a huge problem. I spent a big chunk on my first night there driving around the city to find a charger that actually works many of them are broken. This is a big inconvenience during our stay. They also had service scheduled to clean all the air conditioning units. Very inconvenient. We were in the room to cool off and take a nap instead the room is hot. They made a giant mess and my room was right across from the elevator, giving us little to no privacy anyone coming or going to look right into our room on this process one on They also charge higher than usual security deposit most places charge maybe $50 or 100 this place charge $100 per night that is excessive route also poor it was on a main area all night long. You could hear firetrucks and police trucks going by. It was noisier than New York City.

    Enjoyed fresh air inside the building and room. Everything cleaned and organized. The room drawer dresser cleaned but little too old with a lot of damage, chip out at bottom edge. Good Breakfast and services.

    All employees at the check in desk and valet desk were very professional, helpful, and polite. I felt welcomed at the hotel. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Capital One Arena was only two blocks away! Had a great stay at the Hampton. Would definitely recommend.

    I did like breakfast it was varied and well serviced. I didn’t like the fact that our toilet didn’t work properly even after maintenance tech “fixed it “. Also no room clean up or towel replacement even after requesting it.

    Only one elevator working!! Such a safety hazard especially if a person is unable to take the stairs. We had to wait over ten minutes several times for the elevator, and had to take the stairs at times. We were on the sixth floor so no small feat! Also the staff was also using the elevator so it stopped on just about every floor. This apparently has been an issue for several days , first one then the other elevator stops working The fitted sheet on the king size bed was too small and kept lifting up at the corners. Breakfast ok, staff pleasant. Mediocre visit all in all. Also I think the three tvs playing in the main dining area should be tuned to an unbiased channel or something less biased than CNN.

    Typically, the Hampton Inn is a good hotel. This location was OK, but had a few things that made our stay tedious. Unfortunately, one of the elevators was broken which made the wait extremely long. We were staying on the 10th floor and ended up using the stairs every time we needed to go down because we didn’t want to waste our time waiting for the only working elevator. The beds were comfortable and housekeeping did a wonderful job freshening up during the day. Our bathtub leaked and the shower spout diverter was broken so only half the water would come out of the shower. It also smelled like weed in the hallway on our floor, which was gross and nauseating. Thankfully, we didn’t spend too much time in the hotel so it didn’t impact our stay too much.

    It was at a walkable distance from sites as Chinatown, White House, Union Station. The breakfast was good, Many good restaurants nearby. They make the beds and clean the room every day. The only no so good thing I noticed was that people at the front desk did not greet when you aproach them. But overall was a great experience.
