Holiday Inn Express Waldorf by IHG

Our room smelled like pets and stale smoke. When I travel I come prepared with my own cleaning supplies. I sprayed the room with a couple of pumps of aroma air fresheners. It’s for weed smokers (any smokers) it doesn’t mask the order it eliminates it completely. I used the fresh scent. It handled it immediately. It lasted throughout the weekend. I was going to leave them the bottle, but decided against it. Other than that the stay was amazing. The breakfast there is always amazing. It’s not a continental breakfast although if you want that those’d items are also available. The staff there is great and friendly. I choose this hotel every time I travel because on that strip for miles is any restaurant or store you would want to go to.

rooms with walk-in showers. The receptionist apologized and stated all she could do was refund my money and I could go somewhere else. I wasn't about to go searching all over Waldorf to find another place to stay so I figured at least I could go swimming in the indoor pool. Wrong, the water was ice cold, the concrete around the pool was all cracked up and the handrail was very unsafe! I will say the rooms weren't too bad other than the shower but overall I was very disappointed in my stay.

I like that the facility was clean and neat. My power in my room went out and was out for five hours. My husband, a licensed electrician came to turn the power back on within the panels in the hotel. Nobody that worked there was able to help or assist to get the power back on nor will we accommodated.

Location Unsupervised children from a large birthday party were screaming and running down the hall until 2am. Impossible to sleep after a long drive.

I was out with my family all day. I returned to the hotel around 1am. I was exhausted and to my surprise. The bed most more comfortable than my bed at home. That was the best sleep that I have had in a long time.

The hotel and accommodations were satisfactory had there was no heat and hot water.. The staff were nice but I wouldn't stay longer if I had to. There was no heat and hot water my entire stay. They offered an extra blanket. I'm a senior with bad knees and use a cane, had to walk up to second floor because the elevator wasn't working Upon check-in I asked about breakfast was told that the breakfast was muffins and coffee only so I didn't bother having breakfast,. but upon checkout was told I was given the wrong information. They offered me two muffins since there was nothing walking distance to get something to eat There was too much ice around even if there was something close by in 15 degree weather. I feel that I should have been given a discount for all the inconvenience. So glad was only 1 night!

The GM Kristen Brown, Jay they ROCK! I called to explain due the bad weather we would be arriving after 1:00 a.m. the hotel check us in so we could directly to our room. We arrived at 2:00 a.m showed my ID and credit card and I advised I could not use my points because I could use my points. Booking.com never again. It's sad no matter what as a senior citizen it is what it is.

The staff gave my reservation to another person (a reservation I prepaid). I had to wait while they investigate, it was not right. They are not verifying the name correctly, the phone number and confirmation number. There was only one reservation with my name (I have 2 last names, and one is not common), there wasn’t another reservation with similar name for the excuse they gave “of having similar names”.

Never get room 113…You share a wall with the kitchen and you will be violently awoken by 5am. You also have a perfect funnel of sound coming from the front desk area so if anyone is socializing near the front it will sound like they are in your room

There were several things wrong with some of the rooms. The staff were responsive and trying to correct the problems, outside of insinuating that someone was trying to get batteries for something order than the TV remote.

It was wonderful with the exception of the fact that one of the only reasons I stayed there was because it had a swimming pool but the pool has been closed and they've been waiting for over a week after they've gotten it fixed for paperwork from the county and apparently the county hasn't given it to them I don't understand why!! Hopefully it will be open before I leave on the 22nd!! But otherwise my stay has been fantastic!!!

I like to stay here for the location, price, and amenities. My last night this time was HORRIBLE. For some reason the hotel lost power from about 1am-7am. Looked out my window and lights were on everywhere else. My room got really hot. There was no hot breakfast, no generator ever came on, and even after the power finally came on they still didn’t provide a hot breakfast, the AC took forever to come on, and the elevator was out for some time (and I was on top floor). It was MISERABLE.

The pool heater was damaged and unusable. Everything else was fine, but I think they should notify us when any facility is out of service. If you rent a hotel with an indoor pool, I think it's so you can use it during the cold season.

Overall it was an ok stay. There was a mix up with my reservations but staff really didn’t offer much help to rectify it. I was traveling for a funeral and had to find another place to stay for one night

The property has questionable characters hanging around the building and with small children I didn’t feel safe. After checkin our room was average but not what we anticipated. The pool was closed and you could see green algae it smelled disappointing and gross. Throughout the hotel we kept smelling drugs and the elevator smelled like a cloud of weed. The breakfast was good and staff was nice. We enjoyed the conversation with the breakfast attendant.

I have traveled a lot over the years for sporting events with our kids.So after arriving at the hotel w/the family (after several hours of driving/late) The clerk informed us we had no room (already paid for/ reserved in advance/ confirmed). I was told the hotel was booked and when we asked how that was possible, I was never given an answer. I was also told the hotel tried to call me "all day" but claimed I had left no valid phone number- in which I showed them my confirmation which clearly listed my phone number (& email). They "said" they had my # but there was an extra "0" at the beginning of the 10 digit # (still valid if you read like a normal #). But No attempt was made to call hotels.com to ask them to reach out to me, etc. We were told this happens 1x in a million, yet others from our sporting team also were left w/no room here having to find another place to stay. Hotels.com attempted to reach out to the hotel the same night to find out where the miscommunication had occurred (& to process our refund) and was hung up on several times. POOR SERVICE!. We ended up at Hampton Inn in Waldorf, MD who was also booked. BUT, when we told them what happened, they released one of their rooms for our family and accommodated us even though they were at max capacity as well. We had begged Holiday Inn to do this & they refused! We won't stay at Holiday Inn again & I'd recommend NOT staying at this location as they will give your reservation away and overbook the hotel.

Close to shopping and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed here last June and had a good experience. That’s why we chose to stay here again.

I enjoyed the customer service with check-in, but I went to 7bed, the bed was worn. There was springs sqeaking, the bed sank in the middle and had no support! I felt like I was being swallowed! Room 132 needs a new bed and mattress!

The first room we were given smelled horribly of smoke. The receptionist quickly remedied the problem and gave us another room. The faucet in the bathroom was completely disconnected from the vanity and the paint in the bathroom was peeling on the door frame and shower area. Breakfast was average. Would probably select a different hotel in the future.

My stay at the hotel was a relaxing one. All the staff were courteous, our room and the common areas were clean. My family and I enjoyed the breakfast. This kitchen staff were attentive to our inquiries and requests. I was able to use the gym which was clean and equipment functioned well. Unfortunately my kids were sad that the pool was under maintenance. We hope the pool is back in order when we travel again in February 2025.

I checked into the property the pool was closed, the 1st room i checked into the ac was stuck on there was no heat and it smelled

This property gave us a terrible room. It was asbestos from the torn popcorn ceiling, the furniture was ripped, and there was mold in the bathroom. I’d like a refund.

The carpets in my room were heavily stained all over and there was black mold in the shower.

Was double charged for hotel stay!

Good place to stay for the weekend. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Definitely have had better breakfast but it was edible. Overall nothing major to complain about. Just a solid hotel.

Didn't like that the pool was closed it was one of the reason I pick this hotel.....did not like the stained carpet in the room

Carpet was in terrible shape! Stained. Safe, as usual didn't open. Said battery low, and the woman at the desk didn't know how to change them. They are supposed to have them changed the next day, but that didn't happen. It's supposed to be a smoke free property, but people congregated outside the front door and on the sidewalk outside of rooms and had loud conversations late at night. Like they were hard of hearing. Not the greatest place to stay. Maybe I'll try somewhere else next time.

Staff at check-in was very friendly. She gave us a great recommendation for dining as well.

Something growing out the top of the wall

Our room smelled like mold. The carpet in the room was covered in stain. The air conditioner leaked into the room leaving puddles and likely causing mold. The area felt unsafe the noises at night kept the entire family awake. On a positive note, the breakfast was decent and the front desk lady was at least pleasant, even though she couldn't do much to help us with our room. Would never consider staying again.
