Room was great (stayed in 700). Balcony are my one complaint as they are SUPER shallow and awkward to use because of it. Also could've used a larger fridge as the one in it didnt even havw a freezer cubby. Other than that no complaints. Parking garage was super useful. Took the trolley everywhere (download the HRT app and add funds, you cab get unlimited rides for $4.50 and kids under 18 ride free with an adult rider). beach access was amazing.

The sliding glass door had smears and fingerprints and the patio was basic. But for the staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Everything was stocked and the right temperatures. Great assortment for food which changed daily. The pools were clean with a great bar and seating. You can't beat it for the price. Plenty of parking for $18 a day/night with in and out privileges inside a covered parking garage. Would recommend this hotel.

Location is great. Room size is also great. Cleaning was far between. We stayed 6days/5 nights and only once did someone clean our room. There was 6 of us so we had to call often for towels and it would take almost an hour or more for them to be delivered if we even got them. A couple times we had to call a second time. We have stayed here many times and this time was a disappointment. The room was not as clean when we arrived as I remember. Many spill marks on our walls like drinks were spilled and never cleaned. The breakfast was ok but I remember more variety before. They had the same thing almost everyday.

Breakfast always on point everytime we stay. The rooms are always clean and it’s a must we stay here everytime. The only upsetting thing is they charge almost $20 to park your car per day now. Which is greed to me but we either stay or not.

Loved the location and proximity to a lot of great restaurants. Check in and check out was smooth. Loved the outdoor pool. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony in the morning and watching the dolphins. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We definitely will stay here again.

The complimentary breakfast was popular, but the breakfast area was extremely busy and crowded during peak hours, making it difficult to find seating and enjoy the meal comfortably. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and overall condition of the room left a lot to be desired. There was visible mold on the shower curtain, the walls showed significant wear and tear, and some of the linens appeared dirty. The balcony was also not well maintained and could have used a thorough cleaning. While the location and room size were positives, the property would benefit greatly from improved housekeeping, maintenance, and better management of the breakfast area during busy times. With more attention to these areas, this could be a much better guest experience.

I got a non-refundable room, however the weather for memorial weekend was horrible, so I didn't ask for a refund, I asked for a credit and it was declined. No customer service whatsoever.

Stay away from this Marriot. Place has the rudest misinformed employees. People here are miserable and not helpful. I was given wrong information about parking my sister vehicle across the street for like triple price I was told. They couldn't even let her park at the hotel when my reservation was for two people. I had a handicapped placard and they still wouldn't allow her to park there. They said they were sold out Friday and Saturday yeah well I was a reservation and as a Marriot member and someone with health issues didn't appreciate the treatment. Very unpleasant not very clean and disorganized place. No beach towels or chairs ??? On an oceanfront hotel what a joke. The breakfast was same every morning and chaotic. Stay away from this place ! So disappointed drive 6 hrs to be aggravated and annoyed.

My only complaint was that even though it was a non-smoking hotel people were smoking Marijuana and the hallway to our room smelled like skunk. No one stopped it.

Our room was on the top floor with a view of the ocean, so we were in an excellent location in the hotel. The room was very clean and was up to date. We had a nice suite with two queen beds with a separated area having a sofa, desk, TV, and kitchen. The buffet breakfast was very good. The bar area, lounge area, and dining area were all clean and well maintained. The hotel was right at the beach front. There were a few restaurants right on Atlantic Avenue across from the hotel to walk to. I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was okay... Family of 4. 2 adults, a preteen and a toddler. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean, the lobby smelled amazing! I didn't feel that it was very family friendly though. We got looks like we were an inconvenience most of our stay.. We never received any type of housekeeping services in our 4 day stay. You have the option to opt in or out of the services but even opted in we didn't receive any. I had to go to the desk to request trash bags and towels and ask them to take our trash out. We were also charged $200 extra for our stay that wasn't on our receipt bill. Only thing I can think of is it paid for parking, but again it wasn't on our receipt.. We had a room on the 10th floor which was nice for the ocean views. Our balcony rails were made out of pvc pipes which didnt feel very safe but I'm assuming it was over metal or concrete. And the wifi was so-so from time to time. Those were really the only issues we had. The staff was helpful and quick to fill requests, the indoor pool was very nice, hot continental breakfast was great every morning, showers were always hot and all around a peaceful environment. I'd rate around a 7.5/10.

great beach view from inside and the room's balcony. The only very minor "minus" was that the balcony space was small, barely enough for two chairs and no table. Also (not the hotel's fault) very close to the flight path for the naval base, frequent landings and take offs of fighter jets during daylight hours.

From beginning to end this lot is worth every penny spent for your hotel stay, from plenty of parking, valet if needed, elevator or stair access from higher level parking. Main lobby clerks are attentive and happy to help, dining/bar is directly across within the lobby and also has private gated back patio seating with gas fireplace providing you with inclusive view and dining/drinks. Gym amenities are also on the first floor along with indoor swimming pool across the hallway. Accents within the building are clean and up to date. Our Room was on the 4th floor (3 elevators and stairs available) and included a fantastic view of the ocean front and had a balcony with two chairs - up to date and nice amenities throughout the bedroom/areas although perhaps it’s a west thing there was not a blow dryer. Breakfast was very busy but orderly with great options.

First, they have great customer service. Gabby helped us at check in and was absolutely friendly, kind, and went above and beyond for us with placing us In a room that would be accommodating since we were traveling with a 7 month old. We really enjoyed having an inside pool option. It was never crowded and perfect since the wasnt hot enough for season. We traveled during mid-April this year. Their breakfast was buffet style. It was enjoyable and filling. A variety of options. The view was just amazing! We enjoyed breakfast overlooking the beach each morning. In the evenings on the patio they had fire pits lit which made for a peaceful ambiance. We will definitely be staying again! Honestly nothing seemed bad to us.

Zero storage. Hot tub was beyond disgusting with hair floating. At first it was cold. So they heated it but didn't bother to clean it. I have seen other reviews stating hot tub dirty. Sink would not drain. Can't take bath as stopper would not hold. Parking garage elevator broken so can't move luggage without almost being run over in parking garage on ramps with kids. Then they have the audacity to charge for parking for weekend on top of no elevator to use. This is a 4 story garage. No offer to accommodate or compensation. I am a Marriott member at that. Very disappointed

Elevator to parking levels was out of order all week and made it difficult to navigate for a person with disabilities. I liked my oceanfront room. The view was great. The hotel was very crowded. The breakfast was average. I picked a bad time to come on a holiday weekend. The next time it will be when kids are in school. I had requested a higher floor but the staff didn't seem to care about that and put me on a lower floor.

The parking was a bit tight and the elevators took a little long but the staff was nice and quick on what we needed. It was close to the beach and we had a complimentary breakfast buffet.

Got stuck in the elevator inside the hotel the last morning. Employees didn’t seem knowledgeable about anything about the hotel or the area.

Overall the stay was okay. Check in a few minutes after 4P and the room is not ready...until I pushed back then it was a miracle. Then no carts were available...The parking garage elevator was out of order with no ETA. So, there was no $15 parking charge on my bill...The breakfast buffet lines were horrible; Friday there were less options then the days before...I asked if the garbage could be moved from the dining area that was already full of people eating. I called for room service on two separate days and received voicemail. The Hyatt Place in VA Beach provided a better experience last Springbreak...I thought the Marriott would treat us

Had check in been on time and our bathroom been clean, the room and hotel is worth the price we paid for the room. Breakfast was hot and delicious in the morning. A/C works very well! We had to wait two hours after check-in for our room to be ready. We were told it wouldn't be long, but it ended up being two hours (6pm) before our room was ready. I get that some things got behind with cleaning staff, but as management, you anticipate that before 4 pm and not wait until 5 pm for a manager to jump in and start helping. You could tell they had quickly made beds and somewhat wiped down the bathrooms, but the shower and toilet were still dirty. We had a half roll of toilet paper in our room and had to ask for more toilet paper plus bedding for the trundle to use for our fifth person. The elevator for the parking garage was out of order so the luggage carts were a hot commodity. We had planned to go swimming but you couldn't see the bottom of the 4 ft pool which tells me it wasn't very clean. We skipped out on swimming and opted for a walk on the beach.

We plan to come back twice a year to see our kids in the military there and will hopefully be staying in the same room. I could have stayed in my room the whole trip and been very satisfied. You could hear the white noise from the wind and waves even if you closed the sliding glass. Stepping out onto the balcony we saw dolphins playing in the ocean on our last day there. I have never wanted to stay on vacation like I did on this trip. The continental breakfast didn't taste like a homemade one would, but free is free. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Just don't go on the weeks I will be there, so it stays quiet. (Wink wink)

The front staff was friendly and the parking was easy. The breakfast was a good feature and of course the beachfront location was awesome! The only issues were the bathroom. I dont like tub/showere combos. The curtain was dirty so I had them install a new one. The tub was really grubby looking, which I feel was unacceptable. Why renovate the bathroom and leave a dirty looking tub? I dont have a dirty tub at home, so staying somewhere like that was very disappointing. Other than that, the room was great and the bed was very comfortable. Had the best sleep! Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Springhill of Marriot in Virginia beach Oceanfront always exceeds our expectation!

Great location! The room overlooks the boardwalk and ocean. It was very clean and well appointed. The staff were super friendly and the amenities were nice. My only complaint is that I was specifically looking for a place with a hot tub (visited in November) and they advertise that they have a hot tub. But when I arrived, the hot tub (outdoors) was closed for the season. Bummer. Otherwise, they have a nice bar/restaurant area and the food was good. I'd definitely recommend, unless you want a hot tub in the off season!

The room was okay. I do feel feel like deeper cleaning could have been done. Also one of our remotes didn’t work; the tv kept having a title slide across the screen too. Overall I like the view from the room.

We stayed here and had a great experience. The only con I would say was not once did housekeeping come by to check on us. By the end of the stay we ended up with a big pile of trash.

Beach view was great. The breakfast could have been better by adding boiled eggs, some cheese, olive, more choice of bread, honey. The pancake was great. We enjoyed the hot tea and coffee.

Everything was great except for a couple of things in the bathroom. The commode didnt always flush on demand. We had the back cover off several times getting the water to refill the bowl. Also the bathtub was not visually great due to a previous coating of some sort peeling off in places.

We had a rude lady in the breakfast area that was very rude to my 17 year old autistic daughter Also the door wouldn’t shut all the way leading to the beach and a homeless guy came in and took things from the breakfast area that’s right across from guest services and no one said a thing

That being said, we really like the staff here they are very friendly. In fact I knew a couple of the breakfast staff by name. I think the staff works hard. I really think the majority of this hotel’s problems are the result of poor management. In order for staff to know what areas of the property need maintenance and cleaned the management may need to come out from behind their desk. Last year my wife and I fell in love with this property. We liked the location because it is in between 2 playgrounds which is ideal for our young children. However due to the lack of cleanliness we will likely seek out a new location for our Virginia Beach vacation next year.

The room was definitely NOT worth $450!! First the kitchenette area smelled like rotten milk. The bathtub would not drain so we both ended up showering up to our ankles in dirty water. The AC sounded like a rumbling truck and the AC grates were caked in dirt. Not all of the elevators were working and we had to wait 20 minutes to leave and couldn’t use the stairs due to needing a luggage cart. When we checked out, I expressed our concerns to a simple basic response of “I’m sorry”. Definitely not up to what I would say is “Marriott” standards. We would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Property is in a good location with lots of good dining options within walking distance. This seemed to be a quiter area of the boardwalk which we liked. The free breakfast was very good and the staff worked hard at keeping up with the demand for food as it was quite busy at times. The parking was easy and convenient and also included with the stay. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The covered balcony was a plus, allowing us to sit outside even if it rained. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay for our beach getaway! We thought it would be nice to have a table to go with the chairs on the balcony. That's all!

Everything ok

We got the newly renovated two queen bed studio. Though the bathroom fixes are just cosmetic, the water drainage not good. Reported about a couch stain but not much was done. Got extra pillows on request. However Below Average comfort bed and pillow wise but the horrendous part was the AC stops working after 12! WTH! At first I thought it was me having hot flashes and waking up adjusting the ac all night but on day two realized it turns into off around mid night and starts back on at 6 am! Crazy for $400 per night..

My family stayed at SpringHill Suites for both me and my son’s birthdays. The suite was large with ample space for the 4 of us. I loved the location and the nearby food options were plentiful. The free hotel breakfast was convenient but we also ate at other breakfast spots during our stay. The balcony was private and had a beautiful view of the ocean front.

This is a well maintained oceanfront hotel. Our suite was clean, spacious and appealing on arrival. The space is definitely designed with families in mind (access to bathroom via bedroom AND living room). Would appreciate more hooks in the space for wet beach gear. Beds were fairly comfortable. Balcony is small, but nice to have. Service was all around poor. Cleo, at the front desk, was incredibly rude. Not sure how someone that rude is still employed in a customer service capacity. Room refresh is completed every other day. This isn’t enough for beach-going families with children. We also only received one room refresh for our entire 5 day stay. Requested fresh towels 7 pm one evening, never received, even by the next morning (was told they would be “right up.”) The water pressure in the shower was very, very bad. There wasn’t enough pressure to even knock the loose sand that fell from our suits, down the drain. Not sure if we would stay again.

Haley accommodated our request for early check in with no issue. She was very kind, courteous, and helpful. We even received an upgraded room with a huge spacious private patio with lounge chairs and an outdoor dining table. Room was just as spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had plenty of delicious options, and was well attended by the very kind and kery courteous breakfast staff. All the staff in the hotel were very kind and delightful. The only negatives were the roaches that came out on the patio once it got dark and quiet. The elevators were often too busy, but it was no issue taking the stairs up/down. And also the indoor pool water could've been clearer. Overall, we had a delightful stay. Thank you Haley for our delightful accommodation.

Loved the convenience of everything.

Excellent service team members. The property was clean and well kept. The only criticism was that security was a lax, ie access to the building and pool areas, anyone could come and go.

Loved the ocean view. Room was clean and staff was very friendly. Also enjoyed the 24h open pools. Plus being able to walk the beach whenever the urge hits,made it a wonderful relaxing trip. Only issue was our room wasn't available when we arrived. Had to wait for a room.. even though I reserved the room two weeks in advance.

Loved the free breakfast and free parking. Room was fantastic. Nothing bad to say.

Everything was great minus the rooms had 0 bathroom hooks or anything to hang towels or swimsuits . And the breakfast area was very small and overcrowded for such a big hotel . There really should be two breakfast stations we unfortunately skipped a few times because no matter if we went at 7 am or 9 am for breakfast the line was long and too crowded

Perfect location. Pools were not well kept, had sand in them daily. Very friendly staff. Had to have our whole AC unit changed in our room because it wasn’t working

Housekeeping missed our room so we had to ask twice for new towels, toilet paper and to have trash taken out. Indoor pool smelled so bad. Filthy floor. Indoor pool was supposed to be heated and it was cold. Pool water was so foggy, couldn’t see your legs.

Great beach front property right on the boardwalk. Nice amenities like the indoor & outdoor pools and free breakfast! Lobby smells great and overall attention to cleanliness!

The suites were spacious with beautiful views from the balcony and located right on the boardwalk. The breakfast is good, too, with many hot and cold choices. The Dunes restaurant in the lobby has excellent food as well.

We loved the property, breakfast, bed, setup of the room, balcony view, and the outdoor hot tub! We saw so many dolphins from our balcony! Very comfortable. Lots of options for breakfast so we didn’t have to spend much on food the rest of the day. Would definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed at this hotel and, overall, it was a fantastic experience. The facilities were clean, well-maintained, and had a great atmosphere. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the highlight for us was the gentlemen at the bar, who went above and beyond with amazing customer service. The gentleman who checked me out was also extremely friendly, kind, and genuinely concerned about our stay—he truly made a difference. However, I did have a couple of small issues during my visit that I feel are worth mentioning. First, when checking in, it seemed like the staff were still getting familiar with the system, which was a bit confusing. The elderly woman who checked me in asked to see my ID, and when I presented my US passport, she insisted that I show my driver's license instead. While I understand the need for proper identification, I personally feel that a passport should be a valid form of ID in these situations, especially for international travelers.

Hotel could use a refresh, but overall is clean and is conveniently located to lots of attractions and restaurants at the beach.

We have stayed at this hotel for the last 5 years and they are continuously improving the facility. Our only complaint is that the outdoor pool is freezing cold even in June and the hot tub is often broken.

The room was amazing and spacious. The beds were so comfortable and the view was beautiful. Saw earwigs in the room throughout the night. That was the only complaint. Very good experience overall

The check in was challenging due to calling ahead to confirm joining rooms but another front desk staff member took the room off block to give to someone else. When another front desk member saw the issue on the computer he corrected the matter appropriately and we appreciate how it was corrected.

This was a beautiful hotel the stay was great! However the dryer not working properly in the laundry room was a slight inconvenience. ( I spent a whole day trying to dry my laundry for one load).

I had a wonderful stay at the SpringHill Suites in Virginia Beach. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable — I slept so well each night! One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast buffet. It was fresh, well-stocked, and had a great variety of options to start the day off right. The hotel staff were also polite and professional, making the experience even more enjoyable. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area
