Great location for Shamrock Marathon weekend. Right at the start with some good food options at the hotel. Had everything needed to prepare and recover post race. Wrist-band room keys were great! Some backup at the restaurant the night before the marathon was a bit of a bummer.

Clean room and hotel overall. Polite staff at the front desk and cleaning team. This is one of the best properties Virginia Beach has to offer. On-site restaurant Tulu was a hit and miss we found. The female attendant at the beach offering chairs and umbrellas we found to be unnecessarily rude.

The Marriott is a nice hotel but I had some unexpected issues. First, the tv in my room did not work. They had to send two maintenance men to room to fix it which was uncomfortable since I was alone and had already gotten ready for bed. The bed was the next issue. I have never complained about a bed before but the bed was really bad. I woke up and my hip was hurting from how uncomfortable it was (I’m 40 years old and I don’t have hip issues). I asked if all the beds were like this one and they told me they were. I seriously considered not staying the 2nd night but I instead got my camping sleeping pad from my car and laid it on the bed for cushion. Last, housekeeping never came to my room. I was out in the morning by 10:30 and I expected them to at least empty the trash. I had food from dinner the night before and I wasn’t expecting to have it still in the trash when I returned from the beach. I paid for a panoramic view room (which in my opinion was not worth it - just get the king ocean view) and based on the terrible nights sleep, I doubt I will stay at Marriott Oceanfront again.

When we arrived we were moved to a different room from what we booked (a king bed with ocean front to a double queen with a worse view), the hotel was also very crowded and the elevators where very slow. There was amenities that no one told us about and we were charged $35 daily for our 5 day stay. Some of those amenities looked great and would have been nice for the beach. I only found out after receiving the receipt. The staff tried to be helpful but it felt like there was a lack of communication. Positives we had a view of the ocean, cleaning staff were nice, t g e receptionist was also nice during our check in and the hotel had a few nice activities hosted. Another negative, I had a virtual meeting i needed to attend and hoped to use a private space at the hotel to have this meeting but all the business/conference spaces were reserved for an event and I had to conduct my meeting in my car while my partner was still sleeping in the hotel room.

For the breakfast area they had all the doors open and it was freezing out. Food warm then got cold fast. Pool was not heated at all, bathrooms area always being cleaned and shutdown. Food was over priced and didn’t taste like gourmet food.

Cleanliness is a must for me and I give it all 5 stars.

This is my favorite place to stay when visiting Va Beach. The room was clean, the pool was nice, and the atmosphere was great. It was a very peaceful trip.

The level of friendliness at the front desk was not the same. The front desk staffed felt cold and on an uninviting. The hotel itself is starting to look lived in and a lot of the fixtures need to be updated and taken care of the room. Itself was mid at best.There's water damage on the furniture.And it didn't look taken care of .... Six hundred dollars a night is not worth it. Better places to spend my money at.

The Marriott Virgnia Beach Oceanfront was an excellent stay. We were really surprised to get a resort feel while staying at Virginia Beach. There was really no need to leave the resort area unless to eat at local restaurants or sight see. The hotel overbooked so we were not able to get our balcony room until the second night. That was the only hiccup that we experienced. The rooftop bar/restaurant, Orion, was excellent and the view was breath taking.

The property was nice. Had a Caribbean vibe. However I found it no different than a Holiday Inn. It was really just another hotel. I didn't like that we were restricted from ordering certain things on the menu from one of the restaurants. Not because it was available but because it was something from the kids menu. Something that they didn't offer on the adult menu. The other restaurant would not seat you in the restaurant in the morning. You had to sit outside or at a table close to the outside. And the food was not that good. Had to send several things back. And was afraid to try anything else from the menu. And the main thing. Beach chairs amenity was not available to use. You're a beach front hotel and advertise beach chairs as an amenity but did not have them available. Staff said they wouldn't be available until starting memorial day. Does not make sense. Therefore we were unable to lounge out on the beach during our stay because we left our chairs at home because they said they had chairs. Definitely not one of our best vacations or stays.

Great view of the ocean from our room, we could see the beach from our bed! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived on a sunday and were able to check in 2 hrs early.

Everything about this Property is Awesome. Location, Restaurants, Bars and staff Great. We had a Ocean view room and it was amazing.

View was not obstructed but it was off to the side it was not beach front view but we did have clear view

The hotel felt luxe. The design and overall aesthetic. For the price, I was well pleased. Our room was very nice. At approximately $600/night, what would take it to great would be robes, bathroom mat versus having to put a towel down, softer mattresses and thicker blankets for the bed. These touches would definitely elevate the comfort and experience.

Stayed 4 nights in April. Weather was windy, couldn't spend much time on the beach, so we had to use amenities at the hotel for entertainment. Smaller hotel, so there was not a whole lot to do beside corn hole and eating.

My favorite part was sitting with friends on the patio around a private fire pit and watching the waves. Room was clean and staff were very nice.

The hotel was clean and the view to the beach was beautiful. The staff were rude, not friendly, and socially awkward with me. I felt racially profiled when I entered Orion’s restaurant. I made reservations for dinner and the hostess sat me at a table in the bar area. I was asked to be moved three times before I received a nice window view of the ocean. I did not feel like I was treated fairly and with respect. I would not recommend this place to black female entrepreneurs.

Beautiful pristine facility! All the perks of being ocean front with the perks of large pool, ocean viewing lawn chairs and restaurant/ bar a few steps away. My teenage daughter and I enjoyed an activity there too - made a body scrub on a chilly morning and then hit the beach afterwards! Lots of perks to enjoy! We hope to be back.

The pool was very crowded and we weren’t allowed to swim in the other pool which was much larger with very few people in it. We were told because we were staying at Marriott and not Embassy or the Cavalier hotel we weren’t welcome. I paid a lot of money just like everyone else and it felt a bit embarrassing being asked to leave. We ordered breakfast To-Go from The Cavalier Hotel and felt like the price for the food did not match the quality or quantity and they forgot to put everything we ordered in the bag. We didn’t bother to call back, or even go back because they were less than welcoming. I understand it’s a fabulous Hotel, but treating people with kindness and respect is more important to me.

The experience from check in to check out was great. The view from our room was excellent, and the cleanliness and comfort of the room were ideal. ’ had an early appointment and being able to leave and return to the parking garage suited our schedule very well. We had a good visit and hope to return in early spring.

The views from the restaurant and our room were absolutely stunning! Our room was clean, everything worked well, and there was plenty of storage space. During our Thanksgiving stay, the hotel was all decked out with pretty Christmas lights and decorations, which added a fun, festive vibe. Overall, this resort is such a nice but cozy place to unwind and enjoy the beach. If you're looking for winter beach spot to make holiday memories, definitely check it out!

In the room there was a table stand that was really old and tarnished. Was surprised to see that since this Hotel is relatively new. There was a nice cleaning lady who did not speak English nor could she read... This could create a problem since there was a disinfectant wipe near the makeup remover. Someone could get hurt. I was nervous with the young cleaning lady's safety with other male workers who were present on my floor with no other female worker around. I could tell she was nervous so I informed an elderly man working at the pool so she would be safe. Prior to that I kept going back & forth to check on her. I called mgr. The parking garage had great lighting. The parking payment was not easy to understand so folks could be overcharged and not realize it. I was lucky b/c a hotel staff member explained the costs. The beds were not the best. The light in our accessible bathroom stayed on forever and couldn’t be shut off with the power switch. The resort was nice but the parking was average. Our ticket to get in and out didn’t work most of the time.

The beds were not the best. The light in our accessible bathroom stayed on forever and couldn’t be shut off with the power switch. The resort was nice but the parking was average. Our ticket to get in and out didn’t work most of the time.

3rd time we have been to Marriott Bonvoy. It's always good. One thing,the ice machine wasn't making ice on our floor 12th. That's my only complaint otherwise, everything was great.The pool staff is the greatest. Emir and the french Lady,loved her+

Great experience

You have access, not just to this hotel, but 2 2 surrounding hotels as well. There are family friendly activities in all of these hotels that are accessible to all guests. - s’mores, outdoor movie night, tie die, sand art etc.

I did not enjoy my stay at this property. The hotel is dated and is in serious need of renovations. I had paid several hundred dollars extra for a room with an ocean view. What we got was a room in the roof which was full of trash and barely had any view of the ocean. Very poor value for money paid.

I have always wanted to stay in this hotel, it looked great from the outside. But two big problems-1.) the room was super cold, and I tried upping the gauge with no luck. I ended up asking for two blankets and not being able to do much in my room. 2.) I had a balcony and was excited about it, but could only hear air conditioners running. I assumed the breakfast restaurant would be full because the hotel was full, but walking past it saw their was a buffet-advertise that! The staff was really helpful.

This was a very nice property oceanfront. I had a beautiful view of the ocean. My only complaint was that Netflix was not working very well. It was very glitchy. Also nothing to do with the hotel but the naval jets flying overhead was frequent and extremely loud.

The Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront continues to exceed all expectations—this being my fourth stay. The staff are warm, attentive, and always go the extra mile, and the location—at the peaceful end of the boardwalk—offers the perfect balance of serenity and access to local attractions.

We loved the hotel its corner panoramic rooms and the comfort. We also loved the two pools and uncrowded beach. The problem is the staff needs training. I purchased two rooms for my family and gave them my card as requested. In the middle of the trip my brothers room was locked with no notification or explanation. When we checked the front desk they said it was because no card was given. I gave them my card again and they unlocked the room. I have never heard of such a thing and the hotel is very lucky I’m retired. I reviewed hotels and another travel entities for almost 50 years. This is a first. A manager was notified and was horrified but it ended there.

Mobile check in does not work and took forever to get towels upstairs. TV was extremely laggy and I had to physically restart it five times in order to make it work. Keep in mind the EV charging is five dollars an hour and it charges about 21 miles per hour.

There were lots of great food options and reasonable prices!

I was disappointed. When checking in, I was told that they didn’t have the room that I booked and paid for! Ended up in a double bed room that was extremely loud. They moved me the second day to a better room but I was already mad…

Everything’s was amazing

I don't think it makes sense that you have to pay for parking that should be included in the resort cost. The restaurants are ok, the best was the Hunt at the Cavalier. Also, I think they should bring Drinks and food to you on the beach.

Love the outdoor infinity pool with lounge floats. Beautiful beach with nice beach set ups available. Room was nice as well.

if it wasn’t for this property, I would have not went to Virginia Beach to vacation. However, the Marriott oceanfront resort is amazing. Feels like you on an island somewhere it’s a great quick get away

Sheets were scratchy and midgrade for a hotel at that price. Breakfast was also mediocre. View and amenities were top notch.

The nicest hotel on the beach. Everything you need is right there. The only complaint is the lack of access to the nicer pool in the middle of the property.

We really liked our room and the view. Housekeeping forgot to clean our room one of the days which was frustrating because we were gone all day and came back to a room with no towels.

The panaromic room is small. Bathroom is small. Toilet was not working. Staff in general not very friendly or nice. Tulu breakfast is not good quality , service is horrible at TULU. Deck was great - very good food and very good staff. Orion roof - food quality was below par for the price , staff very rude. Hunt room was not good, bar attenders not good service. Pool is not heated. Overall 2 stars

We had a terrific time at the Marriott down at VA Beach. It felt very much like a high end resort with plenty of ammenities. My only negative feedback was the cost to charge my Honda Prologue EV was astronomical. Like, almost absurd. I guess that's life at a hotel, but it was a bit of a shocker.

Awesome service great property!

Would have given 5 stars but the pillows were not very comfy.

Kids activities are off-the-chart great. Gorgeous beach and views. Super fun, historic area. Beach boardwalk nearby. Ice cream shop fun for kids. Parking a bit tough with an extra fee, but totally worth it. Service is excellent times ten in every area. We have been here twice and will vacation here again, definitely. Outdoor sand wash-off areas not always working 100 percent? Could be an off-season thing? Otherwise, this is a kid-friendly, beautiful property that my family loves, loves, loves.

Everything was nice. I didn't like that you had to pay for parking it should be free with your stay.

Ocean views, friendly staff, excellent customer service

I had reserved an ocean view room but the room I was given had a view to the next building rooftop with lots of sounds and oil smell coming out. When complained to the manager about it I was told that they were having a full house and couldn’t do anything about it which was really disappointing.

Excellent property - I would return to the Marriott Oceanfront. The hotel has a great ambiance, a bar, a sundeck with plenty of seating, as well as conversational seating, two pools, and an outside jacuzzi. In addition, guests at the Marriott can enjoy amenities at the Embassy suite directly across from the hotel and the Cavalier Hotel all in the same resort area.

Floors in the room were filthy! Always are. I wear socks, after I shower and they’re dirty before I get in bed. The rooms also reek of wet clothing…a humidifier or moisture filter should be added to the HVAC…at times it smalls moldy.

There is a lot to do within the property itself.

It was a nice location right on the beach. Good dinning options. Only drawback are the Navy Jet training missions that go on through the day but everything else is good.

The Hotel was bright and clean, restaurants had good service. Rooms were basic, beds were hard, wish it was better mattresses. The oceanfront view was nice.

Loved that the property was on the beach front, and the layout of the room. However there is no microwave, and the fridge doesn’t stay closed. The internet seems to come in and out throughout the day as well.
