Reviews
The hotel has a beautiful location with stunning views and is well-maintained. However, there are issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and service in some rooms. The restaurant is good but expensive, and there is a lack of breakfast options.

This property is in a beautiful natural setting near hiking trails. I loved the native landscaping around the resort. Not enough towels or shade around the pool.

The unit was very spacious, had a small private patio, very clean and comfortable. The hot tub was great. Half a dozen Javelinas, including babies, visited us on the patio Very loud a/c fan. Fortunately we didn’t have it on much

Great place and location in Tuscon. There is so much to do in the area and this suite was perfect for us. Great pool and you can walk to the hiking trails.

This place makes you fall in love with the desert. Staff was nice and helpful, pool (I think saltwater) was heated. Beautiful view of the mountains and golf course from our patio.

I was impressed by how spacious and affordable the condo was, and I enjoyed the amenities like the fitness center, pool, and patio. Restaurant on site was nice, also.

Spacious, peaceful, the bed was quite comfortable, and except for the lack of soundproofing between my unit and the next unit, very quiet. Lack of soundproofing between my unit and the adjacent unit. Lack of store facilities and limited dining.

We were really impressed the kitchen had everything you could need for an extended stay. The pool felt great although you did have guest skimming the pool through the day. But over the stay was great the restaurant creosote was amazing and having the shuttle was awesome too. Great overall experience

(Feb 2026) Good Rooms. Well Appointed Kitchen. Reasonably Clean. New-ish furnishings. Good Wifi for Streaming. This is a timeshare property with lots of retired guests who come here regularly for up to a month at a time. This lower guest turn around creates a more "Homey" feel to the Resort. We stayed for 10 days and had the same two guest cars parked on either side of us every day. It's a small detail but it gives you a sense of the truly relaxed energy this place exudes. Another example was the pool. The chairs around it were well occupied, yet you could still hear the breeze, and water was for most part undisturbed even when people were inside. It is like they created a place that matches the stillness of the desert outside. Overall a truly memorable Trip. DONT RUIN THIS PLACE !!! ... Please. Dark Tile Floor in the Kitchen was rather old and lots of deep chips in the corners (Nothing dangerous or sharp). Yes, the tiled area was characterful, and it would've been okay for an outside patio. However, for the kitchen, something newer, lighter colored, flatter would've really helped clean up using the provided broom. The Bathrooms have very beautiful updated Tiles and fixtures, so I'm hoping the kitchen tile gets some attention as well.

The property was great other than a hardcore spider infestation the first evening. We had 6 spiders and 2 other crawling bugs in our room within the first 12 hours of our stay, and 8 of those hours we were sleeping. Spiders crawling up the wall behind our bed, on the wall in the bathroom, in the sink, on the floor, on the wall with the window, everywhere. We asked the staff to spray and they did quickly and it helped a lot, only found a few more spiders after that, but as a spider-hater who has stayed in AZ at this time of year 6 other times without ever encountering this issue, I can’t return. The pool was awesome and the grounds are gorgeous. Fantastic location. The room was clean other than the spiders and had a nice big fridge, full coffee pot, toaster, and cups/plates/silverware which was also great. A lot of great things, but I’d fix the large gaps around the doors to prevent the spiders, and/or spray a ton.
- 4/5
Standard Rooms have two full beds. Lack of a small storefront to buy grab n go and/or snacks, treats and beer is a minus. No concessions or bar area at the outdoor pool is a negative. We would have spent much more time there if we could get something to eat and drink. Overall, nothing fancy but works well for a golf vacation home base. Price + Quality = Value --- I would say this has a high value rating due to its good price.

The lay out and look of the resort. The second staff member that helped me after trying to find the check in area. He immediately directed me to the right place without judgement or frustration. There's three things, the third one minor and had little bearing to my overall impression. 1. When you check in, the signs lead you to what looks like a restaurant and main admin area. You'd think that's where the check in would be. It took 30 minutes to find. I was so frustrated, if I hadn't already paid I would have left and gone somewhere else. Check in was around a dark corner, in that area. And I mean dark, because it was nighttime and it wasn't well lit or inviting. It looked like I was going into a storage room, or private staff area so I was very hesitant. The sign on the door didn't even say check in, you can't open the door you have to be let in from somebody inside. The ring doorbell didn't work, I had to knock on the door. It was such an uninviting and very unexpected check in experience. 2. When I first got there, I went to the main well lit admin building/restaurant to ask where I check in. I was helped by a Brunette woman who could have been a waitress. She was very annoyed that I didn't know where to check in. She literally directed me to another resort further up the road. I didn't realize until I was back in the car and trying to follow her directions. She also told me that if I had programmed Starr Pass hotel into my phone I would have found it. Wow. Lucky for her, I have a freeze response when somebody is unexpectedly rude. I really regret not taking her name out asking for a manager. She shouldn't be working there. 3. The room smelled like old smoke. I get it. It's not the resort's fault people think they can get away with smoking. The room itself was lovely and clean. I think at this point I was just so frustrated and upset because of the check in experience that when I got to my room it was just one more negative thing.

There was no breakfast provided! There was nowhere to sit outside; no patio, no chairs, etc. There was a dingy window with film on it that had worn off that looked at the desert in the back of thd unit. The carpeting was worn and there was no water pressure in the shower. There was also no loveseat or chairs. We either had to sit on a small chair at the table of on the foot of the bed. I'm not sure why it was called a suite or why a $250 deposit was required! The place was nothing more than a substandard hotel room. We were both extremely surprised and disappointed!

We enjoyed an appealing and well-appointed one bedroom unit scenically situated in Tucson foothills. Definitely a knockout view over the adjacent Starr Pass golf course, the surrounding mountains, and the city roughly a 15-minute drive below. When we wanted to skip an evening drive for dinner, we enjoyed strolling to the newly re-opened restaurant/bar adjoining the golf course. Would happily return but would love to find a smart TV and a quieter HVAC unit next time. All in all: kudos!

The room was nice and we enjoyed our stay. It's a nice hotel in a beautiful location. When I booked the room, though, the website indicated that there is a safe in every room. We found out after check-in that no room at this hotel has a safe. That was disappointing. Additionally, the hotel restaurant was closed for a private event and there was no notification to guests that they would have to go off site for food. Despite those things, we enjoyed our room and our stay.

The reason I chose this property was the pool. When I arrived, they told me the pool was closed and a text was sent on 3/22. No text was sent. I checked spam texts-everywhere! No communication. They even had my phone number when I checked in so I know I could have been contacted. This was 2 weeks before I left, and I would have cancelled had I known. They did let me use the sister locations pool, which was gorgeous, but 1 1/2 miles away and not very convenient. The room was wonderful. The grounds were great. All staff were pleasant. I just feel like I was duped, because I went through a 3rd party (and could have cancelled up to 3 days before). I knew the restaurant was closed, but nothing was said about the pool.

Suite was immaculately clean and had very comfortable beds. Outdoors, the community is beautiful, quiet, and easy to navigate. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. Because I was checking in after hours, I was welcomed by the security guard, Luis, who was exceptionally professional, courteous, kind, and helpful. The gym facilities are small, but well equipped and clean. No objections.

The golf suites seemed distant to resort amenities. The bar restaurant was under construction so there was nothing to eat/drink without going to main resort area a mile away. Room was a lot smaller than advertised online. Was basically a standard hotel room not a suite. Staff was very nice and facilities were immaculate. Overall a good time. But probably wouldn’t book again. Would rather spend the extra for the marriott resort

The only downfall was the restaurant is under renovations currently But there were several restaurants within a 5 to 6 mile distance. This location is also very close to the JW Marriott.

• Since we were driving down from Oregon we did not want to scramble and try to change this reservation and book another property elsewhere. • The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom amenities disappointing (tiny container shampoo for two people for two nights? The coffee was terrible and no creamer was provided – I drove to the clubhouse to get some. • Even though most hotels these days have you pre-pay your stay, and then also ask for a credit card to put a hold on a security deposit “for possible damages, or having a pet in your room, etc,” the first morning of our stay we had to listen to a small dog barking right next door to us. • On several occasions wi-fi slowed down or stopped working.

We love Starr Pass. Very quiet & relaxing. We saw quite a bit of wildlife this visit which was very exciting! We saw deer, javelina, roadrunners and a tarantula. The property is very clean. Pool was refreshing and quiet. Someone did run into our vehicle in the parking lot tho, & didn’t leave their information. That was our biggest let down. The bedroom was comfortable. The adjoining room was not very sound proof tho. We could hear the person next door talking, a dog barking and the phone ringing. Overall we were happy and will definitely return another time!

I didn't book the hotel I thought I was booking. I thought I was booking at the Marriott Starr Pass, which this is not. It turned out that this room and location ended up being much better for the girls weekend, but was very confusing because we didn't realize this was an entirely different hotel. (Side note: I've lived in Tucson my entire life and didn't know this place existed or that there was another hotel next to the Marriott Starr pass.) The condo was great - we had four girls and it was perfect size. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and amenities. Didn't use the washer/dryer, but it was handy just in case. The bathroom was of excellent size (especially when four girls were getting ready to go to dinner). The separate bedroom and pullout couch made for great sleeping conditions. And the bed was comfy. We had a few spider encounters, but I get it, it's the Sonoran Desert. Would probably stay here again, now that I know it's something separate from Marriott Starr Pass.

I didn't book the hotel I thought I was booking. I thought I was booking at the Marriott Starr Pass, which this is not. It turned out that this room and location ended up being much better for the girls weekend, but was very confusing because we didn't realize this was an entirely different hotel. This property is a wonderful place. The staff was so helpful and courteous. The 1BR Condo with option of 2nd BR is a much better option than any standard hotel room for the same price. We will definitely be staying here again!

Discovered the Refrigerator was not cooling after we put our food in. The maintenance man ended up having to bring in a refrigerator from a unit being renovated. Great Job, by the way. The condo worked well for us. Clean and adequate.

Restaurant food is good, but expensive, draft beer issues and like most places, restaurant drama is there. Plus,no breakfast joint, that sucked. Price for room was fantastic but think that was timing because it is now summer. So my advice is If the price is competitive it is worth it.

All that being said, here are the downsides we encountered. 1) I made the reservation online through Travelocity.I requested a studio room with a King size bed. We were given a room with two doubles. When I called the front desk they said because the reservation was made through a third party, they did not receive notes from our reservation that we reserved a studio with a King bed. My husband is over 6 ft and his feet hung off our bed. A room with a King finally came available, but by the time we found out about it, we only had one night left. 2) Our room shared a wall with another room. We could hear everything going on! Conversations. Their TV. Alarms. Literally, everything. We had to sleep with earplugs. 3) The refrigerator in our room froze everything. Water. Food we brought. Milk. My husband finally turned it the temperature control to off, and it still froze everything. 4) Even though there were tons of channels to watch, a large percentage didn't work. The reception was sketchy so picture and sound were in and out. Not a huge deal, just disappointing. We might stay here again, if there was a way to not share a wall with another room, or if they added insulation for better soundproofing.

I was disappointed that this property was not affiliated with JW Starr Pass. The amenities are lacking as far as not able to take advantage of the amenities with JW. My room was clean and staff was very nice.

Great place! Tennis, swimming, golf and BBQ restaurant right there. Just outside Tucson but still convenient for restaurants etc. if needed. We were in town for the Gem & Mineral shows and it was a great location to get on I-10 to get to all the shows. Will definitely look at booking again.

The room was filthy. I had to clean everything with Clorox wipes. Still the carpet was so filthy my husband had an asthma attack. We left immediately and had to find alternate arrangements. We are still waiting to hear back re a efund. The gentleman at the front desk said he would do so. Yet nothing

I had to go to Tucson for my Uncles Celebration of life and Starpass was very close by. I have used Hotels.com for a LONG time for business travel and had a lot of points. I got the room for two nights. The room was "B" suite...so it would be the extra room of a an A suite which looked to be nice. The walls were extremely thin and the hotel staff was using the adjoining A suite to store tools/ladders/housekeeping equipment....I saw it all because the door was open. The staff was VERY loud when they went into the A suite. They also only gave us each one towel for two days. The window had peeled off window tint on about 2/3 of the window. If I hadn't been with my gal for three years, I'd have been very embarrassed. The walls were so thin we could also here the guy int he next room coughing at night. Not a good way to get a good nights sleep. The check in staff was nice as was the restaurant staff.

It was clean & the accommodations were very nice but I requested a king bed & ended up with 2 double beds so my husband & I had to sleep in separate beds.
- 2/5
There was no information provided about the restaurant being closed on Monday’s and Tuesday’s. I arrived in the evening on a Monday. I didn’t stop anywhere prior to arrival because I was tired and just expecting to get something light at the property. Nope. Closed. I had to leave and go find something. The parking areas around my little spot were being paved and everyone in my set of rooms had to find others areas to park. Which meant coming back during the night walking back to your room through a complex alone with roaming coyotes and weird hog like creatures walking around looking for food. My encounter with these rodents or hogs caused me to fall in the gravel resulting in a bloody knee and hand but there is no help after 10. I had hot water issues twice in my bathroom and had to wait a lengthy amount of time for maintenance. All in all the place is beautiful, super clean and quiet. My time of arrival was when things were being worked on such as paving and internet update. I just wish that I had been informed and was only informed about the internet outage. My advice in staying here is ask prior about anything and everything.

The room was very clean. The balcony was very nice and we enjoyed the sunrises. The shower was outdated but worked very well. The kitchen are was a real bonus if you wanted to stay in and cook. A very nice, secluded, quite play to stay.

There seemed to be some discrepancy between what Expedia promised, and what was actually delivered. For instance, Expedia said check-in time was 3 pm, the hotel said it was 4 pm. Expedia said check-out was 11 am, the hotel said 10 am. There was no housekeeping services, which we were unaware of, also, unless you stayed a minimum of 7 days. We stayed 2, so we didn't qualify for housekeeping. We would have preferred knowing this before hand. There was nowhere to get a bottle of water, a snack, or a soft drink without leaving the property. I don't believe there was ice available either. We requested a King bed, but received a room with two double beds. There was no patio or outdoor area with the room. The so-called desert view that we requested, was not much of a view at all. Just a few desert plants up close to a sealed up window. This is a hotel of golf suites, and obviously caterers to golfers. The room was quite inexpensive compared to other resorts in Tucson. So, I guess if you're primarily there to golf, then it might be fine. We are not golfers, so we were somewhat disappointed with the accomodations.

Wonderful accommodations. I had no idea this place existed as I’ve stayed at the nearby Marriott. I plan on coming back for another stay - love the scenery and the staff were nice and accommodating.

The casitas are lovely tucked away from the U of A busy and hectic rhythm of a college town. We love the hiking trails surrounding the property. Landscape is well taken care of- the shuttle can take you to JW Marriott for a wonderful meal or just to lounge by the pool. Not a lot of noise, just peace and tranquility surrounded by unforgettable Tucson beauties, sunrise and sunset. Strongly recommended and it’s only 15 minute drive to the U of Arizona or other Tucson’s points of interests.

Really loved seeing all the wildlife! Saw deer, a toad, a trantula, cyotes, road runners, lots of moths! Really great room! It had a toaster, fridge, and microwave plus a 4 person dinner set. (only complaint was the ac couldnt be set below 72° and we were confirmed to have a king bed but were put in a room with two standard beds. The pool also closes at 9pm and that really sucked because we would go and do wedding stuff during the day and get back and want to soak as it is still 90° plus outside and the pool would be closed. It would be great if it were open later. Like midnight.) The staff were great we were informed that the wifi might not be working but it was fine the whole time we stayed. There is no included breakfast but a restraunt on the property that was dine in or take out. Most grocery stores and other food options were about 15 minutes away.
