Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tucson by IHG

Stayed here just for a night. Hotel is in good shape, room was nice and comfortable and breakfast at Holiday Inn Express is always pretty spot on. Only a couple hiccups I wasn't too impressed with. First was the pull out bed had no sheets on it and there was none in the room. The reservation showed we had 6 people staying there, so either having the bed made up or at least sheets in the room would have been nice. By the time we figured it out, it was late and I had to walk to the office to find someone to get some extra sheets and we had to make the bed while kids were trying to go to sleep. The next issue was that there were no pool towels out at the pool. Kids were already in and swimming before we realized there were no towels, one of the other guests said they just took towels from the gym, but there was none in there either. So had to go to the front desk again to ask for towels as well. We swam once at night and again in the morning and there were no towels either time. So other than just being a little more proactive in keeping things stocked, it was a pretty good stay overall. I'd be fine staying here again.

The bed and pillows were super comfy and the room felt spacious. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was basic and tasty. This was a good location between Saguaro NP East and Saguaro NP West. When we pointed out an issue with cleanliness, the staff called it unacceptable and took immediate steps to resolve the issue.

We would stay again. Great staff and room was fine. The breakfast was geared for little kids. Sugar yogurt, instant oatmeal, etc. No hot breakfast like eggs waffles etc.

Breakfast staff very attentive-cleaned the tables and replenished food and drinks throughout the breakfast time. The bed and pillows were remarkably comfortable. Checked into a room that was not cleaned. Given another room. Stayed 2 days room keys were not working the 2nd day and had to get it rekeyed. No one a desk to get it rekeyed. Stood around until someone showed up. Not up other Hilton standards.

The rooms bathroom had a problem with the hand held shower attachment. It didn’t work at all. The staff tried to fix it but it still wouldn’t work. They did give us an option to change our room to another floor but we decided to stay since we had only one day left. The breakfast buffet was outstanding.

Shade on only window could only be operated with a remote control, which was missing. So no natural light. But, since window was in direct sun much of day, not a huge deal.

Our stay overall was very nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, I started noticing, hours after check out, that I had been bitten by bedbugs in almost all my body (I slept in the sofa bed), so maybe this is something that should be looked into. (We were staying at room 113).

Room was clean, sofa bed cushion was HORRIBLE!!! Looked toasted and dirty and even red stains in it. Do not rely on rooms with sofa bed for any sort of comfort.

The “heated “ pool was very cold and the weather was hot while we were there. Also, it was closed a couple days while we were there. No reason given. No umbrellas around pool to provide shade.

The location of the hotel was near by an event that I attended, this is the reason why I reserved a room at this hotel. The staff were quite helpful and friendly. I could tell that house keeping did not wipe down the counters as there was hair strands on the bathroom counter and pieces of paper on the floor. There was also an odor in the room. There were homeless people hanging around the hotel which was uncomfortable and didn't feel safe.

The room was very cold and the thermostat did not work. Also, the darkening window shade did not work, there was no remote, so we had to call the desk clerk to put it down manually.

The stay itself was fine but I had an unpleasant experience trying to obtain a copy of my receipt after my stay. I called the hotel and was told it would be sent to my email, but I never received it. I had to follow up multiple times with no response. This lack of communication and support was disappointing and inconvenient, especially since I needed the receipt for reimbursement purposes.

The breakfast was great and also the size of the room. The only thing I would say is that the mattresses were uncomfortable, they are too used and they were making noises every time you would move. Also the mattress for the sofa bed was really bad.

We have stayed at this particular Holiday Inn Express a few times and we really enjoy it. We like the breakfast, and the staff is always very nice and accommodating. Nothing major. We could have used a second chair in the room. I've stayed at other Holiday Inns and there is always only one chair in the room. A little inconvenient when there are two of us staying in the same room. One gets the chair, and the other gets to sit on the corner of the bed.

The pool was unheated and dirty. The hot tub jets were not functional. The room had a number of small issues, including the faucet for the tub dripping constantly and the sink not draining. This hotel needs some serious maintenance. Luckily, breakfast was good, if repetitive.

The fridge and AC in our room was not working to well. When I notified the front desk the lady really didn't seem to care. I called the next morning and went back down to the desk and they said there's nothing that could be done. That was the only issue we had the room was very warm, couldn't get it to cool down.

Good place to stay that is close to the interstate. Somewhat difficult to leave location due to lack of a stoplight and heavy traffic on the street you need to use to exit the property. Very good breakfast and staff managing it.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean but the automated drapes failed to function leaving me and my wife visible to outside viewing. They offered to move us upstairs to another room but we had already unpacked and settled. This was very, very inconvenient.

For people with pet allergies, this is very important. When we walked in the room it actually smelled clean, and it was. All staff were, especially the two ladies working the breakfast area. The food was fantastic also. We will be staying here next time we need a room in Tucson.

I was impressed with how he worked diligently to make sure our cars were not broken into etc. My auntie forgot her toothbrush and we asked for a spare and received it right away at the front desk. The rooms are neat and look more spacious in person. Loved the breakfast and appreciated the staff named Brandi’s attention to detail of refilling the foods right away and keeping the area clean! Shout out to her and the man who worked front desk on June 25, 2025! Thanks for good customer service!!

Overall, it’s a great place for an overnight stay on our way through Tucson.

The staff is wonderful and accommodating. An issue with their shower is that it was hard to adjust the water temperature. The shower water was either cold or very hot.

Decent hotel. They have a nice pool and jacuzzi. The staff is very nice and they have a decent breakfast. Plenty of parking and right off the freeway. Waffle House across the street.

We were in town for a 4 day visit with my daughter. I will start by saying you get what you pay for; however, my biggest complaint was that the first room they put us in didn’t have a working lock/door and broken AC. We notified the staff and they moved us the next day 2 doors down. The other room was okay, but the AC had a musty/mildew smell. The kicker was when a group of students came to the hotel and was placed on the floor above us. There was literal stomping and pounding on the walls. It got so bad others were banging on the walls the get them to quiet down. After about 30 minutes I called to the front office and they said to give the group time to settle. Another 30-45 minutes go by of loud noise and I called back. The front desk seemed bothered that I was asking her to ask them to be quiet. The noise was excessive after another 30 minutes the noise calmed down. I will say that the breakfast and cleaning staff were very nice. Going forward I will just pay a little more to stay somewhere nicer.

Hotel should have emailed customers directly in advance that the pool was out of service so that we could make alternate arrangements. Being advised that it was noted on the website is absurd as many of us book thru 3rd party sites and never see the website anyways. To review the site after booking and enroute, would be highly unlikely for anyone to do.

Breakfast staff was outstanding!! Never had to wait for anything! Rooms were very clean. Staff very friendly. My only complaint is the elevator. The door sensors need adjusted. They would start to close and not open immediately when something or someone got caught.

The room was nice. The staff was helpful. But the parking was terrible. There were so many cars with Uhauls and trailers that it made it difficult to find a spot.

The people that worked here are the best thing about this hotel. Unfortunately, area has a lot pan handlers. Everything was pretty clean except the hall carpeting needed to be vacuumed and cleaned.

The room was nice and mostly clean. There were a few crumbs under the couch that didnt get vaccuumed up. You could hear the people above us walking around and it sounded really loud. There wasn't much water pressure in the shower. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was tasty with good selections!

Perfect for what we needed. Quick comfortable place to crash after a long drive, just to get up and do it again. The best part was the buffet breakfast which was delicious and best of all… the coffee! Just what we needed being so tired! Will be searching out these hotels in the future.

The room was super clean but it had a strong smell of Clorox. The breakfast was very good. Lots of choices. Very good coffee!

The only thing is the wall unit for heat and cooling of room is controlled by a wall thermostat. The temp goes from cold to hot and vice versa up and down constantly. It may just be a bad thermostat. All is good with the rest.

We arrived early, and the room wasn't ready due to prior day was fully booked and short of stuff. We finally got into our room 330pm after a long day of traveling and work. The room is clean, and modern. So glad for it cleanliness and helpful front desk.

The bath amenities were exceptional. Loved the pillow cases with "soft" and "firm" stitched on the outside. Even though the hotel overlooked a construction yard, the pull down screens on the window let in the light but not the scene. Breakfast was delightful and varied.

You guys over booked I paid for a two beds and sofa bed and they did not have it because this website overbooked!

We arrived early hoping to store our bags while we went out. The front desk guy told us that staff members have “sticky fingers” and that we wouldn’t trust leaving our bags at the front desk. He told us we’d be better off leaving them in our car. Luckily, our room was ready so he checked us in early. As we left to find our room, he told us not to leave anything in the car because people will “break into the car for a nickel.” I appreciate the honestly, but it did not instill confidence in staying here.

Excellent service! The minute we arrived we felt welcomed and the check in was so quick & easy! The Front desk staff was great and very friendly and helpful. Our room is spacious, clean and comfortable

The first room we had gotten hadn’t been cleaned. We opened the door and found all the blankets from the bed and all the bathroom towels thrown on the floor. We immediately went to the front desk and informed the person working there. She apologized and assigned us another room which was clean. Overall helpful and courteous. That was the only problem we encountered. We enjoyed the pool. very clean. Breakfast in the morning was very good too.

Cons: Neighborhood a little sketch and mattress was HARD.

My husband and I were traveling back to from Austin Tx. We were on the road for 18 hours on Friday. I had made a reservation in advance. The person that checked me in was very friendly and kind and checked me in very quickly. The hotel was very clean and smelled clean as well. The reason I gave the hotel 4 out of 5 is the room did smell like mildew. But we did not let that bother us. The pillows were big and very comfy. I used it as a partial body pillow. They use dove bathroom products which is what we use so we were very happy that we did not hav to use crappy shampoo or body wash. The bed was pretty comfy. When I checked out, I did mention about the smell when we first walked into the room and the gentlemen was amazing as well. Seemed very genuine in his concern. We do recommend this place. We drive to Texas from California occasionally so we will be using this place every time. Very satisfied.

It was far enough from the main cross street that there wasn't any traffic noise and close to two gas stations, the on/off ramps to I-10 were close by and my favorite breakfast place, the Waffle House, was a quick walk from the hotel.

Easy check-in, clean and comfortable room, great breakfast. We would definitely stay here again when traveling to Tucson.

Beware if you have a service animal. Front desk wants documentation which we provided. Next morning as I am walking my dog I am approached by 2 men questioning me about the dog. I asked them to identify themselves. 1 was manager other was his lackey. Manager said he had right to ask I told I did it last night. Under ADA I do need to share in public and medical information. Very rude, please becareful with Management.

We could not check in when we arrive. The system was down and no backup to resolve.

Just a quick one night stay, but it was a nice hotel with nice staff and we would definitely stay again.

The stay, room and breakfast were good, however the pool was turning green and the temperature in Tucson was a sweltering 105 upon arrival! All in all accommodation were sufficient for the road trip !

Clean, safe and as expected a great stay. They recommended the Angry Crab for dinner and it was fabulous. May not look like much but highly recommended. You can not go wrong with this excellent hotel.
