We loved our accommodations. The resort is beautiful and clean. The staff is amazing. The food at the restaurants is fabulous. And we loved the outdoor shower!! Also loved that I could get the laundry done. After being on the road for several days, it was nice to be able to hand over my bag of dirty clothes and have it returned a few hours later!! Truly an upscale resort with great amenities and an impressive staff! Thank you so much! Highly recommend this place!!

The staff was so attentive to anything we asked for or needed. Everyone was absolutely amazing. Amenities and tours and spa on site were wonderful. They had 3 pools all had really beautiful views. A chefs garden we were able to pick from to help grow our own stuff at home in our gardens. Just overall a wonderful stay

This property is an absolute gem. My wife and I stayed here for 1 week in May. Everything about this property is first rate and vastly exceeded expectations. The staff is very professional and engaging. You can tell that they enjoy working there. The accommodations are exceedingly comfortable and the grounds are absolutely stunning with the various trees and shrubs. The restaurant had amazing food. We never had a meal that was even remotely bad. Everything that we tried was very good. This was a very peaceful and relaxing trip. Thank you to all the employees who made this happen. You all deserve 10 out of 10 stars!!

The room was great and the text communication from the star was great. Service at the restaurant was great but the food was ok. The property is so pretty and a great place to stay. They just need to fix a few things to get a 5 star from me.

Great location and property... must stay in the area. We used a base camp to look at homes in the area so was central location and peaceful (except of guy checked in above last night that either doesn't know etc regardless of size to walk quietly vs. stomping and not to rearrange al the furniture at 11pm. Only 3 areas to improve on to make it "perfect" for what the mangement can control 1)We brought our dog which claim pet friendly and paid the $125 for 2 nights for him but nothing provided...no dog bowls, treats, handheld shower for paws or walk areas with grass and clear of cactus in each cluster of rooms. It is in the desert with "lots" of various cactus and dirt so not an easy "potty walk" for a dog...always saying look out for the pokey..especially a boy. Staff and guests were friendly towards dog but would expect that without paying extra fee since he didn't even have his own bed. 2) They provide free but very weak coffee bar in reception and when ordered from restaurant a latte and Mocha to go...after 2 failed attempts they removed them from my bill. They don't need a Starbucks but could step up their game. If would have couple of days would have had to go off property to spend $ and who want to do that first thing while trying to enjoy the views with nice espresso. 3) I drive an ev so made sure had onsite charging...Since I suspect CP probably put in for free with subsidies, no reason to charge .50kWh when cost to them is .10 and .20 is fair since was amenity

Did not follow on alarm that went off around 4:30am

It was alright, very mid. Was expecting a lot better but it wasn’t bad.

My wife and I only stayed one night and found the property very well maintained and comfortable. My only complaint is the price for a shot of tequila costing $19 was outrageous!!! C’mon now 😳!!!

The pool could be a little cleaner. But the staff were great and food was great and the weather and views were amazing. Even though it is old property, everything was clean.

The food was very good, and the staff was great to deal with. Breakfasts were really good, but a lot to eat. wished there was a lighter option.

Superb Experience! We come back again and again to this hotel. It’s a gracious property kept in impeccable condition. The staff is friendly and make our stays enjoyable. The restaurant is wonderful with indoor and outdoor options. Great views. Great sunsets.
- 5/5
The most significant that wasn’t, is the room curtains. They didn’t close all the way so sun shined in pretty bright early in the AM. Pool and restaurant were great. Whole property is walkable. We will definitely return.

It’s such good place for a family reunion
- 1.5/5
Historic buildings were very charming . Staff interactions varied widely , from excellent to arrogant. It also seemed that initially was given the very worst room out of 90, perhaps as did not book directly with property . Food was good, and restaurant outlets very good. Initial room was terribly noisy , as a major HVAC intake directly above my door . Vibration was so strong, water in a glass inside room was shaking . ( room 17) please don’t book this room or 18 next door . Every time. I used restaurant, (five times in three days ) was made to wait . Even with reservation, even when no one else there ( like breakfast) clearly this is a trained procedure, just made me feel uncomfortable.

We were very happy with the Sanoran Suite. Close to bar, restaurants and pool. And the view from our balcony was amazing!
- 5/5
We only stayed one night, which is not long enough to enjoy this beautiful hotel. The free valet was so helpful getting our luggage to and from our room. We had an issue with a noisy swamp cooler outside our room (#17) and an engineer came immediately and resolved it. We will be back!
- 3/5
The resort was very clean, with well maintained rooms. The housekeeping staff was excellent and our room was always sparkling clean with plenty of fresh towels and bottled water. The food was delicious at both restaurants. The adult only pool was closed due to an issue with pollen and had no reopening date. When I inquired they said it would be open in a day or two. When it finally did open there were children playing in the "adult only" pool, and it was not very clean. The pools are very small on this property, about the size of backyard pools to be honest. It was difficult to find an employee to ask any questions unless you went to the check in stand. Overall relaxing grounds, with clean rooms.

We booked the Grill Room for Easter Brunch for 4 adults and a baby. Even though the baby didn’t pay or eat, she was counted as a fifth person, so we got stuck in a ballroom buffet with zero atmosphere and below average food. It was very disappointed and overpriced. Breakfast is also a buffet with average food. Pools are small. Not a lot to do.

The property was beautiful. Our room felt dated. The staff was hit and miss. The food was ok, but overpriced for what it was. Overall, it was great and we left the property often to dine elsewhere and go sightseeing.

Beautiful grounds and buildings Old Arizona feel

But, there was no hot water. And when we reported that, the answer was that they had been having probelms with hot water in the hiostoric rooms -- ours was a historic room, namely room 19.; They did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem and we ended up having to take ice cold showers. If they knew that there had been problems, why did they place us in that room? I also noticed that our room had access to an outdoor pagtio -- but there were no lounges to stretch out on -- just uncon fortable chair and a table.
- 5/5
beautiful grounds, excellent food and staff. Bottom line a wonderful resort
- 5/5
Was a wonderful stay, definitely on the expensive end for accomadations. If you bring a pet, its 100.00 plus another 25.00 per night so very expensive ontop of a 700 nt room.

My daughter and I had a great day here! The staff was very attentive and went above and beyond! The grounds were beautiful and well-kept. The room was awesome. Highly recommend!

We had no idea the “Gem Show” started this weekend in Tucson and everyone said that 500k visitors were in town and The Hacienda del Sol was fully booked. Despite all this, our stay was wonderful. Hacienda del Sol was a perfect escape. The place is an oasis from big, busy and beautiful resorts. If you are looking for a high end, quite place - this is a top choice.

For $500/ night I am not pleased. No one helped with my bags. I could hear the restaurant through the walls. The a/c was so loud I had to turn it off! Thank god it is winter! The sink was cracked when I arrived and there was no soap at the sink. Just crazy!

The hotel was located in a nice, quiet out of town area. It was a beautiful hotel in the Spanish colonial, old world style. Gorgeous gardens with courtyards, fountains where you could sit and read, enjoy a fabulous cocktail overlooking the sunset and lights of the city. 3 pools to enjoy. Rooms were very spacious with balcony or patio. Great high end dining or casual terraza patio food. Extensive wine selection and great cocktails from the bar. Safe, easy parking. All the staff were so gracious and super helpful.

Patio door had openings at bottom where spiders or scorpions could enter. Need better wall-to-wall seal. Closet also had multiple openings where plumbing or other items were routed into the wall or ceiling and there was access there that needed to be sealed. Evidence of spider activity in that one. I sealed the bottom of the door with a rug.

Our two night stay was fantastic! We loved the southwest vibe throughout the property and in our room. The views from the property were absolutely stunning. We did note that the views to the west are limited from the upper level and by the West pool due to the landscaping plant growth. The plants are beautiful, but we would've rather had unobstructed views of the beautiful Tucson sunsets. It was also our opinion that the bar service ended entirely too early in the afternoon in the North pool area. It would've been nice to enjoy the views from that area while sipping a cocktail as the sun set. We loved that Hacienda Del Sol has embraced their history. The historical pictures throughout the property and in our room was incredible and brought me back to what life must've been like many years ago, when it really was still the wild west.

I stayed there while dropping my son off at UA. I just needed a cost-effective place to stay for two nights, but I found a real gem. A great place to relax and enjoy the desert. Spacious rooms with a great bathroom. Beautiful buildings and artwork that are pleasing and comforting. A warm, welcoming, and friendly team that tended to our every need. I will stay there whenever I visit again.

Beautiful property. Was little ticked off about the $35 due charge after checking in. Inc. cleaning service , gratuity, 2 very small bottles of water, valet parking ( which was a golf cart escort to our room. Parked it myself. This fee is B.S.

I don’t think I have ever given 5 stars before. You can’t go wrong choosing this place! Everything is wonderful! Any request at any time is granted! Food is delicious! Staff is not only friendly and warm, but if you do not like anything, they will correct it and make or what you want! Since it was my 70th birthday they even gave me a gift! The Spa was also wonderful. I felt like a queen the whole time we were here!!

Wow. What a wonderful stay. The location is beautiful with great views of the Catalina's. The rooms are historic, clean, with modern amenities. EVERYONE I interacted with from the check in to the wait staff to the jazz trio playing in the dining room was friendly and went out of their way to make sure I was happy. So many relaxing spaces including inner courtyards and three pool areas with spas. I look forward to coming back!!!

Low key Ritz Carlton experience. Superb staff

I stayed here for just one night on a road trip from Dallas to LA. It's a bit of a hike from the highway - perhaps 10 to 15 minutes. But it's well worth it - a really lovely small resort with three pools, spacious rooms, and self-parking located in a very upscale part of Tucson. Very good value for money too, at least during the summer. I look forward to returning for a longer stay sometime in the future.

I loved everything about Hacienda Del Sol! The only thing I didn't like was the circumstances I had to fly out there. This place and the people did a wonderful job of keeping my mind off of troubles.

This property was beautiful, clean and quaint. The rooms had so much character and comfort. Loved the patio off the room. The food was excellent while at the pool, which had a wonderful vibe with light music playing in the background, and views were stunning. Will be back.

One thing I will say about the property, put on your walking shoes. The property says they have transportation for the property from your room to other parts of the property. In some cases that is the case, but I don’t walk long distances well. And the carts they have don’t fit on small walkways throughout the property. I did book through the resort/spa an appointment for my friend and myself for spa treatments. I was on a waitlist at 4:00pm Saturday, and my guest was booked at 11:30 am. So when he returned, he said he had paid for my massage in cash, I planned on using my own credit card. I had called an hour and a half earlier to cancel. I CAN’T FIT THE REST IN MY REVIEW GOT WORSE!

This place is a desert paradise! Beautiful and comfy. The staff was amazing and friendly!

It is unique and special. Elegant from a time gone by ..nestled in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. Amazing dining and spa as well!

dont need to leave rhe place if u dont want

Such a gem in the middle of the desert. Quiet and cute, old style native environment. Rooms are comfy and cute. Just lovely. The only hiccup, the food at the restaurant needs an improvement. Chef doesn’t seem experienced in culinary, I would upgrade a bit. Service was awesome.

We had a lovely stay here over the weekend. Staff at check in were friendly, the grounds are beautiful and the restaurant, which had live jazz that night, was great! We'll be back!

What a beautiful property! I had heard about Hacienda Del Sol for years and I finally had the opportunity to stay over this past weekend. The setting is exquisite. We enjoyed the resort - the pools were most inviting and we loved walking around the resort area. Everything integrates so well into the desert setting and it feels quite cozy. Having read and heard so many wonderful things about the dining experience, we were looking forward to eating at the restaurant. We had Sunday brunch and ordered the huevos rancheros and Tucson omelette and both were nearly inedible. They were over-cooked, dry and tasteless. We asked for hot sauce to help the meals along and they offered us a thimble full of hot sauce saying that’s all they had. Super disappointing.

This property is such a gem! No big resort feel with too many people. Quiet, beautiful grounds with the most amazing service from everyone on the property. And beautiful spa!

This was a wonderful resort to spend the week. Incredible views and overall fantastic and friendly service - they go above and beyond to make things easy for you.

It’s the perfect place to stay in Tucson. Quiet with beautiful views and fantastic landscaping with Art ,fountains, and Sculptures everywhere on the property. The rooms are all designed in High Quality furnishings. Wonderful Dining as well.

This was our first time staying at Hacienda del Sol. We had heard good things about it, but were still very pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed ourselves. This is a smaller resort than the other major resorts in the area (La Paloma, for example). Smaller is better, in our view. The historic area of the hotel and surrounding grounds are beautiful and full of charm, with little gardens, fountains, and other nice surprises around every turn. The newer rooms (where we stayed) are also beautiful and charming, while also providing a lot of space in the main area and bathrooms. We absolutely loved our room. And the three pool areas each have their own view and character (we tried each). And finally the bar and restaurant are excellent, with one of the best dinners we've had in years. That said, I was surprised by the reasonable costs for breakfast, dinner, and drinks, considering the outstanding quality and the wonderful setting. The staff are super friendly and seem to remember you after just one encounter, which is probably because of the relatively small size of this resort. I recommend Hacienda del Sol to anyone, but especially to people who want a more intimate, friendly, and old-school guest ranch vibe, rather than a mega-resort experience.

We loved this property. We appreciated all the amenities: Beautiful landscaping, different sized pools throughout, a fitness room, restaurants, a shop, spa, library, cozy hang out spaces, and clean rooms! We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Tucson. The staff were welcoming and helpful too!

I enjoyed it, its tucked away.

The resort is beautiful the grounds r well maintained views r beatiful! If you dont use valet be prepared for a hike with yr luggage because the resort on hills the parking can be far plus going up stairs. The beds were not the most confortable and its time for new pillows. All our pillows gave no support. The pools were beautful the restuarant food amazing . All the staff friendly. Overall great stay. 5stars if they get better pillows n more comfotable mattress. We would go back

I love staying at Hacienda Del Sol! It's a BEAUTIFUL property (very southwest!), beautifully appointed, and service and food are top flight too....If you're staying in Tucson, THIS is the place to stay! This is my "go-to" whenever visiting Tucson.

The Hacienda is a property of great beauty and character. We had a family dinner for 18 there that went off very well due to the great service staff. Also had Mother's Day brunch for 16 that was very good as well.
- 4/5
Beautiful rooms, restaurants, beverages and landscaping.
- 3/5
Traditionally, we have loved this resort, but this last visit felt sadly underwhelming and worn down. I believe the main reason for our displeasure stemmed from the resort catering solely to the Mother's Day Brunch crowd. We certainly understand the need to celebrate Mother's Day. Honestly, that was why we went for an overnight. it was in fact why we too opted for overnight escape, but what we found was that the hotel seemed to cater only to those joining for brunch on Mother's Day and ignoring those of us actually staying their resort.
- 5/5
This is a great resort. The location and views cannot be beat. The service is first rate. The food and wine selection was very good. The rooms are very large, but the A/C and showers do need some updates.
- 5/5
Such a treat! A throw back in time. One of the few historic independent resorts still standing. We were in the Tracy-Hepburn casita which is fabulous - best for 2 couples or a family.
- 4/5
Didn’t like that room service wasn’t available because of how busy the restaurant was. Never really experienced that issue.
- 5/5
I had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The Mountain View room was stunning—clean, spacious, and full of charm. I loved both on-site restaurants (the poke bowl was a 10/10!), and enjoyed two of the pools plus their hot tubs. Every staff member I met was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for a relaxing, scenic getaway!
- 4/5
Beautiful resort with large comfortable rooms. Ours had a patio with a nice view of the mountains . My only complaint was Sunday evening there was a wedding reception on the grounds and our room was very near the venue. The music played loudly until midnight. I didn't complain because I didn't want to disrupt a wedding, but feel that is a little late for music to be playing so loudly. Definitely kept me away till they stopped.
- 4/5
I wish they would have left the front lobby doors open knowing that we told them we would have a late arrival time. Was fearful to open the wooden doors in the dark that led to the lobby. Putting the do not disturb on your door causes them to call you and insist on talking with you. $75 daily hold on card is not mentioned that is a huge pending payment on your card. An experience that is memorable.

Friendly staff and beautiful grounds!

Saw a couple of small spiders in room but not a big deal considering we were in a beautiful desert environment. The ambiance was wonderful and peaceful. The staff was friendly and always helpful. We will return again during the monsoons.

1. The room air conditioner. We stayed 4 nights in room #30. The air conditioner is quite loud. We had to turn it off at night to sleep. We opened one window for ventilation. Unfortunately, we then were woken up each morning at about 5:30 by the birds outside the room and staff rolling carts to supply the restaurant. Not a very restful stay. 2. Better staff support in the pool areas. Each time we went to the pools, there were no towels and although there was a water cooler, there were no glasses. Only one of the pools has a bar. Interestingly enough, during our stay, that pool was the busiest with children. The more relaxing pool did not have any bar service or any waiting staff. You could call for service, but that seems unusual. Might be better if someone could occasionally stop by to offer service. 3. The gym isn't up to standards. Although admittedly, most people staying here aren't looking for a great gym. Outside of the above, the Hacienda is very nice with beautiful grounds, friendly staff and a great location.

It was romantic for my wife and I, exactly what we wanted and we will be back! The bartenders Roy and Jeff made us feel like we belonged there and took excellent care of us!

Loved the Historic Hacienda side of the Hotel! Enjoyed the three pools and hot

The staff at this resort is TOP-NOTCH!! They are extremely friendly, courteous, respectful, accommodating, and always looking to see how they can assist to make your stay better! I've been to many other 5-star resorts, but no one can hold a candle to this staff! They are simply the BEST!!
- 4/5
I stay at the resort almost every month or more. This time when we ordered breakfast with room service it was terrible. The toast was stale, there was no salt and pepper, no spoons and the food was bland. We were in Room #95. The hotel must have been busy because this meal was just thrown together. I left the waiter an additional $10 tip. I won't be doing that anymore. This was unusual for this resort and I'm hoping it was just a fluke because of busyness. However, as operators of the hotel you should know this. Other than that the stay was great - as always.

I had an awesome experience at the Sound Bath on Tuesday night. Great happy hour drinks. The only complaint was it was difficult to get towels at the pool.
- 5/5
This AMAZING property exceeded all expectations! Beautiful, immaculate , spacious room with luxuriously comfortable bed and generous amenities. The property was unbelievably pristine with gorgeous views, plants and flowers everywhere, and modern art installations scattered throughout. No detail was overlooked by this resort. Multiple and hot tubs were perfect. The service was second to none. The spa was amazing! There are really no words to describe the level of excellence in our experience. We will be returning as soon as possible!!!!

Beautiful property with stunning views

This property was our treat while in AZ. The rooms were great, the staff were very good, and we loved taking the tour which explained the history of the resort. We met friends and were trying to decide where to go for dinner and told them about the restaurant at Hacienda del Sol. The chef and waitstaff earned our rave reviews for the dinner served. It was so easy to have a conversation with any of the staff and we enjoyed their hints and suggestions. The only thing I would work on is the hostesses who were checking in diners with- and without reservations. It just seemed a bit confusing, but I trust the staff will get a better handle on this.
