Best Western North Roanoke

We thought we were going to need another room due to a softball travel situation and the staff tried so hard to help us but it turned out we didn’t need an additional room after all. Their kindness meant so much to us anyway.

We were late check in which didn't seem to be a problem. Accomodating staff. Nice comfortable beds. Great buffet breakfast!

We got the last open room (listed) - and it was very good - helpful, friendly checkin staff, clean reception office, very nice room - excellent bed, very clean bathroom. Morning breakfast was ready at 6 AM - good combination- to please all. Recommmend!

There were ants in our room. The manager came twice to try to kill them. He was successful the second time and was kind about it. We weren’t told upon check-in that housekeeping would not be daily because of the length of our stay. They came the first two days but not the third. It was an adequate place to stay.

There was no hot water in the shower after a long day of travel. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning worked well.

This is a nice clean Best Western. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was an issue with the plumbing the entire stay. Every time we would wash our hands in the bathroom plant material would come up from the drain, and the toilet didn't flush well. Parking at this hotel is definitely not sufficient, as there is a diner next door, and people take up hotel parking. This hotel is dog friendly, and I have to say they have the NICEST dog walking area of any hotel I've stayed in. Very friendly staff. I would absolutely stay here again.

Very nice place. It was dead quiet during my overnight stay. It's an older property but clean, feels very safe. Breakfast was very decent, much better than similar places. I wouldn't rate it as outstanding but exelent for an overnight stay.

We were disappointed the pool was closed we paid extra for the indoor pool but the hotel was nice inside.

Rooms are ok, but are a bit small. Bathrooms are extremely small.

The parking lot was small, but safe. The hotel was clean and quiet. The room and beds was very comfortable, tbough the bathroom was a bit small. The included continental breakfast was fantastic for options amd quality!

It was conveniently located for travel right off the highway. The whole place is very dated and the room was dark and gloomy. The carpet in the room looked unhygienic and I wouldn’t take my shoes off. The wi-fi took many tries to get on and the staff wasn’t helpful at all. The whole place needs to be updated

When we arrived we were told to park in the back behind some dilapidated buildings, which looked very sketchy. Then as we walked in the building, there was a group of people smoking marijuana near the entrance to the hotel. Likely some were staying there, as the smell of marijuana was incredibly strong in the hallway, to the point we could smell it in the room. I expect far more from a hotel, particularly one branded as a national chain. I do not recommend staying here.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. When I asked for a dining recommendation, a small diner next door was suggested and they offered hotel guests a discount. It was a great suggestion! Our accessible room was very clean and comfortable. The only issue was the roll in shower. It was easy to get in and out but the water pressure was so strong that it was impossible to keep the water contained in the shower. The entire room had a very wet floor and we needed all the extra towels clean up. Even with that hiccup, our stay was very nice.

He said the previous person had it marked down incorrectly and said there may be a person in our room. Now...it's around 1am and we are being sent to a room where there might be a person in it! We get to the room and it was clearly a used room. Bedding askew, dirty towels throughout the room. We went back to the desk and let him know the room was dirty. After another period of time (he was searching for another available room), he said he found a room and went to check it. After about 5 minutes, he came back and said the room was clean. He had also mentioned that the cleaners hadn't cleaned approximately 10 rooms from the day before. To me, this is wild. We spent almost $200 on a room that we were in for less than 12 hours and sounded like wasn't properly cleaned. The room we finally ended up in had stains and smears in the bathroom and wasn't that clean. (and to note, the person at the front desk was super helpful, we just didn't find this to be a great experience

Breakfast was amazing! We seen housekeeping coming and gathered the towels. We left and came back. Garbage was still full never emptied and no fresh towels. Otherwise everything was great!

The hotel was clean but a little older. The layout was a little odd with elevators in the middle of hotel. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was adequate. There are multiple places to eat nearby and it is about 20 miles from downtown area. This hotel is a good value.

The hotel was fine but the section we were in smelled like wet dog and the deodorizer was so strong it burned your eyes. Breakfast was good and the staff was efficient. Not a bad hotel, just not a good room for someone with allergies.

The thermostat was very good, I could control the temps in my room very well. Conveniently located near main highway. I didn't care for the food for breakfast and the set up was confusing and akward.

Location on the outskirts of Roanoke but very easy to get to anywhere in the region. Small shopping center nearby. Rooms spacious but a little out of date. cleanliness OK. Breakfast classic American It's a bit outdated, although it looks modern from the outside.

We decided against swimming after looking at the pool and I was so grossed out when we woke up to bedbug bites that we packed up and left as quick as possible.

Night staff member was super nice and helpful. Coffee machine was delicious. Our room was very clean and spacious and designed beautifully. Hotel is next to a quick oil change place that we used since we were traveling and a diner, whose menu looked amazing, but was closed the day we were there sadly.

We got a clean, well worn room. The standard amenities were present and the price was right. We avoided the breakfast because we suspected that it would disappoint. 1. We had a nice stay. We were only passing through, needing a room for one night but the room was very clean and in very good condition. The bed was comfortable and had everything we needed. Free breakfast with eggs, potatoes, sausage, make your own waffles, plus all the other continental breakfast choices was great before checking out.

The desk clerk Alex was super friendly and accommodating and took care of us by moving us to the biggest double queen room in the hotel without raising our room rate which I had paid in advance. The hall way carpets are worn and filthy. It’s a bad look to start out with when you’re heading to your room. The new room was very spacious. Beds and pillows were nice, microwave and mini fridge clean. Nice TV. I utilized the checkout “early” option through Best Western on my phone, which offered the ability to skip the front desk when departing and choose a time from 6am-11am. I chose 11am and submitted it. I went to the front desk in the morning to drop our key cards just before 11am on my way out and the clerk said her system didn’t show us as checked out. It didn’t work apparently. The desk clerk was good about it and noted we were checked out in her system. Overall a good overnight stay. The area around the hotel location has everything you need, restaurants, a Kroger, nice liquor store, gas stations and other stores.

Clean and in good condition unlike many places in this price range. Tub was like new and clean. Elevator was nice to have. TV was easy to work and decent channel choice. Bed was good and extra blanket in room vs having to go and request one. We will seek this one out in future trips where it makes sense as a stopping place.

Close to the interstate and restaurants, friendly staff, clean property in good shape. Bathroom and pillows/linens could use a refresh. Breakfast was predictably mediocre, especially at the price point.

Friendly staffs, very good food at the Angela’s diner guest gets 10% off. Food was excellent, local IPA was very good at the restaurant. Bed was comfortable, room was quiet. There are not much commercial stores around the hotel.

We were given a handicap room without our approval or prior knowledge at check in. Only when we arrived inour room with our luggage did we realize we were assigned a handicap room. We were too tire from 12 hours of driving to protest or change rooms at this point so we lived with it. The main problem was the shower. The curtain did not reach the floor so a half inch of water quickly filled the bathroom that we had to clean up using all the towels. The shower head was not able to point where you wanted without removing it from the wall and using a free hand. This made using soap and shampoo difficult with one hand. There was no off button or switch to stop the flow of water, other than turning the shower off completely. This sets the temperature back to cold and temperature must be adjusted again while cold water is hitting you. This was the absolute worst shower experience I have had in my life of 70 years. This includes staying in hundreds of hotels on five continents and bathing in cold water from a bucket. My wife was not able to take a shower in the morning because of these issues.

We stayed for one night to watch our niece graduate from Virginia Tech, and were so happy to pay for an early check in and drop our bags. Our check in was smooth and all staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. After the graduation and celebration we came back to our room about 12:30 am and were locked out of our room! My key worked, but the bar that blocks the door from the inside was engaged. The man at the desk was very nice and tried to move the bar with a tool, but had trouble. After several phone calls and a rush of people checking in he kept trying to open our door, and was able to open the door and ensure no one was in our room around 2am. The only explanation he had was sometimes those bars vibrate loose with the heavy doors shutting, and it opened just enough when the door close to catch the door. We were very thankful to finally get to our beds and medications needed inside. The breakfast was very good, and check out was uneventful. Overall our stay was good, despite the one major odd thing.

Room was very clean, staff was very nice; enjoyed our stay! The only negative was that it was during the week and very low occupancy and it appears that those that were staying at the hotel were placed right next door to each other, so there was noise un-necessarily. Just wondered why you couldn't spread out the occupants.

Needed an economical 2 night stay for 4 of us and this property fit the bill perfectly! A good hot breakfast every morning, comfy beds, and a great staff!

our phone and ear chargers were forgotten in room. Cleaning crew "didn't find them". Went back to hotel and looked for them in room. They were not where we had plugged them in. Not sure where else they could have been as they were not in our luggage. No big deal we can replace both but the block and ear chargers were special and expensive.

All was good except for the mattress which was aweful. It was lumpy and needs to be replace in room 124. When I spend $124 a night for a hotel I expect the bed to be comfortable and the pillows where to hard. Very uncomfortable. At other hotels they give you four. Two firm two softer so you have a choice

We stayed at this hotel after a VT football game. It was a good price and only about 40 minutes from Blacksburg. The hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and the beds were comfortable. Very accessible right off the highway with a McDonalds, a diner and Taco Bell within walking distance.

Was a very nice place , reservation was for a king but only had a double queen available upon arrival. Other than that it was a great stay overnight

The gentleman that helped at check in was excellent! The lobby and room were clean just a little dated. Bathroom is tiny compared to room. Two people cannot be in there at the same time!

The hotel was well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. The pool and fitness room were great. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. We would definitely choose this hotel again.

The staff was very friendly, rooms and common areas were clean, there are several dining options within walking and driving distance.

We stayed for 3 nights for a softball tourney. The hotel was right off I-81 but you really didn't notice any traffic noise at night. I believe the hotel is a bit older but it was in very good shape. We only had some minor cosmetic issues in the bathroom. The room was comfortable and clean. Minor cosmetic issues in the bathroom due to the age of the hotel. It had your standard continental breakfast nothing to get excited about. My only negative is that when I go home I receive a fraud alert from my credit card company. I only use that card for hotels and air fare. I can't say that someone from the hotel tried to use my card but I haven't flown in a long time, and this was the last hotel I stayed at.

Elevator poorly located. Room carpet not clean.

Everything was great. Only issue was I had reserved a room with a king size bed, but was given a room with 2 doubles.

We booked an accessible room with a king bed. End up in a tiny room with two queen beds

Check in was easy. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very clean and comfortable, as well as quiet. Our beds were also comfortable. The location felt safe. As a bonus, there are beautiful mountains all around!

Convenient to I-81 and hiking trails. Staff super accommodating and helpful. Room very clean, comfortable and quiet. Great breakfast…wonderful restaurant right across the parking lot and another across the street (on hill)…others available a short distance (<3 miles) on the other side of I-81.

Ayisha was the best

We arrived in the evening. The guest services person (Ayesha? Alecia?) was extremely accommodating and friendly. She offered all the information regarding our stay and seemed genuinely interested in us as guests.

The toilet, sink, and tub drains were not working.

Carpet etc are kind of old and smelly. Need to be replaced.
