The staff are quite nice and communication is easy. The room was spacious and the location was convenient, there is a 24-hour pharmacy which is walkable as well as restaurants near by.

Then in new room the TV control didn't work, had to have staff lady switch it out, this was in the afternoon, once we came back to the room in the evening and wanted to watch some TV the volume of control wouldn't work had to adjust on actual TV side buttons. Also in this other room, the safe in the room did not work asked the guy at front desk and he said that he couldn't help with that because it was the lady that helped with the TV controller that could helo with the safe and she had gone home for the evening. The bed was hard and small and then on Monday morning they started to do construction on the place so we just decided not to stay the extra night and just left like around 130pm. At the front desk at checkout the lady couldn't find the cash deposit that I had given in cash to the guy that checked me in and had to wait until she called him to find out where he had put it to find it so she could give it back to me. So basically my checkout was not quick nor too easy, unfortunately. The thing I did like was the breakfast and staff at breakfast.

I have stayed in this hotel many times. But today they knocked on my door telling me to get out since it's 12:10PM. I hurried to check-out. There was this couple who check-out at 12:45PM. Have I just seen preferential treatment here?

Unsafe walking around hotel walk-ways during dark hours!

I have stayed at this hotel several times already and have been asking the hotel to mark those uneven walk-ways with yellow-stripes on black strips or paint, TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL TRIPPINGS especially at night. I have peripheral vision challenge! This probably will be my last stay at this hotel. SAD!

Really nice breakfast. Great staff. The guy at the front deck is great. Very nice room. Very good AC. I was never able to figure the tv. I dont care much for tv, so i didnt try too hard to actually figure it out. I found the wofi unstable. Hotel is conveniently located near Revolution AVE, Zona Rio, and the boarder. Just outside the hotel is run down.

I ask the front desk if I can change room because of the noise and he was rude and said no and I also told I will pay for upgrade and he started raising voice at me. I would never stay there ever or recommend this hotel

A kind of quiet and peaceful oasis in center of TJ, the lobby, rooms, and restaraunt are immaculate, and the staff is great.The free breakfast is an actual breakfast, not just Coffee and Donuts, and the coffee pot is on 24/7. The inner courtyard is walled and gated with parking in front of the rooms. I have been visiting Tijuana for 11 or 12 years now, and it is by far the single greatest hotel value in the city at this price point. I booked for 3 days initially, and stayed for11.

This is my 2nd time staying in this hotel.

The ground floor sidewalk pavement do not have safety markings or strips on EDGES to differentiate changes in elevation! I have a Right-Eye peripheral vision challenges, there's huge chances of walk-tripping because there are no strip signs to guide me on changes in walkways! I like this hotel hence i will be back the 3rd time!

Very clean

The property is constructed with rooms on all sides looking down into a gated courtyard parking area, essentially walled off from the noise and traffic of city life. The lobby is large modern and comfortable with large sofas and big screen tv. The restaurant offers a true free breakfast in the morning with eggs, refried beans bread and doughnuts and coffee all day. All in all it's just a great place and a real value at this price point.

My room was on the busy street below ... but the windowa are old and outdated and feels like there's no windows to prevent the horrible noice from street 😕

I arrived about an hour after checkin time. There was no one else in the lobby, but the desk clerk made me wait for about ten minutes while he shuffled papers and did other things. Then he checked me in and told me they had no rooms ready. No apology, no explanation. He just made me wait about twenty minutes while they cleaned a room. Again, there was no one else in sight, so they were not incredibly busy. He also asked for a thirty dollar cash deposit on top of the room fee; I have never had that before. The room itself was fine, but it was next to the street and very noisy. The area around the hotel is not clean; it is downtown Tijuana, so nothing is sparkling, but this area smells bad and is much more poorly kept than, for example, the main street Revolución, even though it is only about three blocks away. But I am used to Tijuana, so that was not the issue; the bigger problems were the very poor checkin and the noise. All-in-all, I will not be going back to this hotel.

I liked that the property is gated & very clean. Our roomnwas super comfortable and the jacuzzi was amazing. There is a bad odor coming from the plumbing, but that is understandable because of where the property is located. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

Was a good stay, room a little small but cheap, housekeeper was really friendly and clean every day.

Pros: Price is affordable Its located close to amenities I asked for a late check out and they gave me an extra 1/2 hour. Cons: The pictures showing the rooms and building are not the same as the actual rooms. The rooms are small. The covers smelled as if they had not been washed. The room had a sewer smell coming from the shower drainage. The shower drainage was clogged. Work staff is not happy to be there, hence low customer service.

The staff was great and always clean but there were no amenities besides that.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel America —it was in a great location, perfect for our trip. The mattress was very firm, which my husband loved, and the shower had excellent water pressure and stayed wonderfully hot. I personally enjoyed our time here so much that we ended up extending our stay by four more nights. Highly recommend!

The morning desk lady no hablo English which makes it hard to ask questions and get help to get things done. The afternoon guy was great and very helpful. Wish they had maps of the area to show where certain services were located as American cell phone service does not work there and getting lost was easy for me. Loved housekeeping. She was unintrusive and left water for us. Definitely felt safe there. Parking is gated and surrounded by the hotel. Will be back.

For the price to stay here is good. You get a free breakfast included for your stay. The down side is not enough water pressure in the shower. I will definitely come back to stay here. Very friendly stay.

The pic shows nice floor but the room I stayed was a old carpet. Housekeeping make a great job, rooms are clean and comfortable. Room is big enough and windows curtains are really dark. Bet is really comfortable and ceiling fan is fantastic.

My cousin and I had to make an emergency reservation at this hotel because we were not able to leave Tijuana the same day as we thought we would. We were just happy to have found a hotel with a reasonable nightly rate very last minute but we were unable to rest comfortably. The sheets on the beds were clearly either not washed or not washed properly. There was make up and dirt on all the sheets and pillow cases. Then there was a leak on the toilet which flooded the bathroom floor, thankfully there was a drain which prevented the flood from flooding the entire room but we called the front desk to let them know and they said they would send someone up to help us but no one ever came. Next time we will probably look for somewhere else to stay even if it costs a little more, the comfort and cleanliness is worth the extra cost.

It's in a quiet and central location. The staff are friendly. The only bad part is walking around the homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk to get to revolución avenue. But I've seen worse in San Diego

Very loud room on street with no sound proofing. Got woken up by traffic at 5am each morning.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. The room was clean, but I found the mattress was positioned right next to the window, which made me feel a bit exposed, as people could hear or see through it. The shower also had some issues—getting hot water took a long time, and even then, it wasn’t hot enough. Additionally, the showerhead didn’t work well, so the water pressure was weak, and it didn’t provide a great shower experience. Other than that, everything was okay for the price.

For being in an area which at times can seem unsafe, it is a clean and safe property with private parking and within walking distance to restaurants, stores and nightlife.

I really liked this hotel. It is at walkable distance from the popular Revolucion Avenue, and everything centric is at a short distance in an Uber. I enjoyed the breakfast included with the reservation, it is really good and tasty. The woman in the kitchen cooking was very polite and kind every day, she deserves a thumbs up! I would stay here again.

The area is unsafe

We checked in and the room had a bad smell, like sewer. The room was clearly not swept or cleaned as well as it should have been.
