Well the first day there room 114 was infested with roaches they had to bomb the room, then we were moved to room 209 and the toilet didn’t flush and tv didn’t work so they moved us to a third room on the 3rd floor room 303 I think but it was right by the elevator that room had roaches as well and I have a video of it. The whole stay was an inconvenience especially with a sick husband having to move back to back like that.

Staff explained that door locks are in process of being changed, but mine was not. Still I had to return to desk 3 different times to have my card reloaded so I could unlock the door. Then the card to the back entrance worked fine first time, but a couple of hours later, it failed & had to walk around the hotel to have the card reprogrammed as well. I never saw them change one lock. Maybe when they get the locks changed, then the cards will work properly, but it was a major inconvenience during this stay. They also have a "pantry" set up with all kinds of snacks, candy, and cold drinks, right off the lobby. There is no information on the pantry. Is everything for free? I doubt it. No signs and nobody anywhere around to tell you what to do. Very confusing, so I just went hungry. And the TV: Each time you turn it off, when you turn it back on, it takes a good 5 minutes to "reload" the channels available. There is a guide is a joke -doesn't work. The price was great, the staff friendly, and the room clean, but these other problems made me drop the rating to a "3". There is no breakfast served, but coffee packs and maker are in each room.

The room was OK at a bare minimum. The bedside had no electrical outlets at all on one side of the bed so if two people are in the bed that gives you no ability to utilize anything electronic on one side of the bed. There were no shelves in the shower at all to put any toiletries on. The deadbolt on the door did not work and was an extreme security issue. None of the locks on the exterior doors appeared to work so that if you walked out, you were not able to get back in even with your card key. One of the doors was even propped open with a rock.

There were roaches in the room. The keys were not working because the batteries were dead in the door lock. I was lock out of my room for 2 hours because there was maintenance on site. The ladies at the front desk had to pry open the door with a crowbar. Was going to change rooms but the maid service was not there to clean another room. Finally got frustrated and checked out.

The staff were nice. It was clean. The hotel was not worth what we paid, especially with no complimentary breakfast. Also, the price of a cheeseburger and fries in the restaurant was ridiculously high. There was nothing special about this hotel to make it so high. Parking is an issue. The rodeo was in town so all the hotels had raised their prices. We were not there for the rodeo. We were there for an appointment with MD Anderson. The hotel did not have MDA rates. If we have to go back to MDA in Houston, we will find a different hotel. We had to make this reservation at the last minute. We didn't have enough towels and had to call twice to get extra towels. We were there for 2 nights and only had 2 towels and 2 rags. Our key cards didn't work when we got to our room.

I tried contacting this propertY over two months in advance about an early check in, emailed through Expedia and called repeatedly to no answer. On arrival which was Christmas morning they had given our suite away to someone else the night before due to an emergency and they had to have a kind bed,and we were down graded with no compensation or apology even though our room we reserved was more expensive. The room they put us in had a king bed anyway.. They didn’t have cleaners available on Christmas Day so we were supposed to get our suite at 11am the following day. On the 26th at 11am I went to the front desk manager again no apology informs me room isn’t ready says she will call me. I ask for compensation at this point and she says she will see what she can do. I go to my room and our keys have been turned off for the downgraded room because it’s check out time. Go back to manager again nothing silence hands me new keys. At 4pm I go back downstairs since the manager never called me, still nothing apology wise but finally we get to our correct room. It’s fine nothing great. Kinda dirty, definitely run down. Couch smelled of weed very strongly. Bed wasn’t awful but not great either. Cable constantly lost signal air conditioning unit made awful sounds. Neighbors had a crying baby the entire time(not hotels fault.) we also were put in the ADH unit and the shower floods the bathroom and the seat is falling out of the wall.

Awful place I was given a room key when I checked in and I get to my room and there was people already occupying it and I just walked right in on them scaring them and I was shocked! So I went back to the front desk and the lady tells me I have two options after she calls her manager and says either I get a refund or she goes and cleans a dirty room and gets it ready for me. No accommodations were made for the inconvenience. I asked for a refund and drove down the street to townplace suites. I’m still waiting for my refund and the $50 charge for incidentals. I highly recommend not staying at candlewood suites. The elevator button for the first floor does not work either.

Everything was good except there’s no lighting outside at all; most of the parking is in back & on the right side but when it’s dark outside you can’t see anything! It’s pitch black. It truly is scary if you’re a woman alone.

Not at all impressed!! Telephone did not work, recliner was so hard to get out of that it bruised the back of my ankle, and the clean out of the bathroom sink had to be worked from underneath to let water out. Also the dishwasher was not installed correctly. It leaned out from counter. There were no plastic or paper cups.

The front desk was of no assistance at all. Sorry; but I wouldn't stay in this place again if it was free. It made me distrustful of Expedia ratings, and I'll never darken the door of a Candlewood Suites again, either.

The property was okay, the staff was great, when you could fine them. Traffic makes getting in and out of the property difficult, bec its on a major highway. My room was clean, but my electronic keys had to be reprogrammed every couple of days, mine was a long stay. The most aggravating poinit to this trip was that I had a room on the bottom floor right next a side door. I was hoping to be able to enter and exit quickly and easily since mine was a long stay and I had a lot of gear. The lock and the door was broke and would not open with my room keycard. They've known about thijs issue for al ong time and have not done anything to repair it. Also, the "gym" ..lol..its not a gym...I'm not sure if anything there even works. It looks like a storage facility for abandoned equipment. I would not recommend this place nor would I stay there, again.

Credit machine didnt work when we checked in. We were on 2nd floor and the elevator had a a sign out of service most of the time. Leaving I had to use the stairs again and fell with a cooler and bag, landed on my knee. Told the employee at the desk when checked out, he didnt say sorry or anything. His only response was he didnt put the sign on the elevator. I have an appointment with a doctor to see whats wrong with my knee, it's very swollen still after 5 days. This may not be over with. I also showed the front desk employee, he showed no concern.

I booked this room because it was close to MD Anderson and the website said it was newly remodeled. When we walked into the first room that we were assigned there was a big puddle of water on the floor. The dishwasher was leaking so we were moved to a second room. I was unable to access the wifi in the second room so I picked the phone in the room to call the front desk and there was no dial tone. I then used my cellphone to call them and was told that ever since the remodeling was done many of their phones do not work. The television was also not working and there was an outlet that was hanging on by a wire where it had not been installed properly. We were then offered a third room but upon entering the room we immediately noticed several cockroaches around the room. In total we killed six in a matter of minutes. I immediately went to the front desk and requested a full refund. As I explained to the staff, cockroaches are a health hazard for any person but especially a cancer patient (we saw several cancer patients on the premises during the short time that we were there including myself). We will never again rent at this location. I took pictures of all the issues we encountered to show the staff.

We got one of our cards reset then went out to our vehicle, tried to come back in through the door we left (back of building) but neither key worked. Cons: hard to find with no street signs, extremely slow elevators, 1st room - toilet wouldn't flush so had to change room, 2nd room - bathroom door wasn't hung right so door was super hard to open and close, no holder for toilet paper, no shelf in shower for toiletries, no dining table/chairs for eating, only seating was one desk chair at a desk, a small recliner chair and an ottoman, no luggage rack so used the ottoman to hold suitcase, only one side of bed had one plug w/one usb jack for charging phones, no ice machine on property but no ice trays in freezer, coffeepot (with coffee) provided but it didn't work. Most of the cons are just inconviences and really don't outweigh the pros. Breakfast not provided since in-room kitchen has 2 burner cooktop, microwave, and toaster in addition to fridge and coffeepot. No plastic bathroom cups or paper cups with lids and stirrers since kitchen stocked with enough items to cook, eat, and drink with as well as dishwasher w/detergent for cleanup. I plan to stay here again and definitely would recommend to family and friends.

This property is under construction and is a mess. The gym was a big reason I booked this place - under construction, covered in paint supplies and all equipment piled in the center of the room. The cable tv - not working, sorry have you ever traveled with a toddler? Oh boy. The room was actually pretty decent, but they still had painters tape all on the smoke detectors and sprinklers throughout the rooms and all the hallways of the floor we stayed on. Not exactly safe. There was sheetrock dust all on the hallway, the elevators, etc. I went to do a quick load of laundry and the smell in there was unreal. One of the washers must have malfunctioned and was completely full of dirty laundry water. Anyway, so I asked the front desk worker for a partial refund due to the gym and the cable issues alone and I was told a manager would reach out to me. I didn’t want to rag her too much because she was very sweet and seemed nervous. So I thought ok great, I’ll tell the manager when he calls me. I was off to a medical appt next morning so I couldn’t go looking for them. No phone call. What a joke. They could care less apparently? I asked Expedia to deal with it and by this point I was upset enough that I wanted a full refund, but this was denied. So that gives them not only an unsafe environment, unclean environment, and also poor customer service all around. Zero hospitality. Also, I never write bad reviews, so that should say something.

I was shocked when I arrived, that my “check in” was done in the hallway of the rooms. The clerk had a fold up table in the doorway of one of the rooms due to all the construction that was happening. Then walking down the hallway on an upper floor, to my room, the floors were VERY soft and I don’t mean in a good way. You could feel the floors were rotting away and it felt unsafe. Walking to our room all you could hear was screaming kids and TV’s blaring. I travel to this area multiple times a month and for the rate paid, it was by far the worst hotel in price and amenities comparison. I do hope the construction brings this outdated hotel into a better safety situation.

I enjoyed the room, but disappointed that Fitness Center was closed for repair, the hallway floors were dusty and torn up for carpet replacements, the clocks in my room were not adjusted for Daylight Savings Time and hand sanitizer dispensers in halls were empty. Also the location was tricky to find in the dark.

Booked it because we had a family member in the hospital and it was close, then when we got there, there was no visible signs for entry, all doors were locked, under construction very dirty, there were people doing drugs in the patio area…. Had to go find somewhere else to stay a waste of our money…. Definitely would not recommend staying here…. Really not even worth a star at all but had to submit something……

Since this is called a "suites" hotel, I thought that there would be more than one room. It is a large and spacious room, with different sections for eating sleeping and working. The bathroom and the closet are the only separate rooms. Everything else is open. It's very nice, but the term "suites" is a bit misleading.

Staff was extremely friendly! The room was nice with some minor flaws. It looks like they are currently remodeling, which is good. The carpet in the hallways was pretty gross.

Our room was clearly updated but there were still areas that had not been cleaned. Every time we went to the parking lot there were people smoking pot. I did not feel safe outside of my room and there was nothing on Expedia to tell us that this hotel was a long-term hotel for lower income.

This property will do in a pinch, and definitely caters to extended stay visitors but if you’re looking for a “nice” stay under $250, keep looking. Unfortunately in the room, the TV had no cable, the AC didn’t cool very well, and the AC compressor sounded like a door shutting all night long.

The room itself had a used rag still hanging on the shower curtain from the previous guest, the hallway going to the room and elevator needed to be vacuumed, the elevator needed to be vacuumed as well. There are several soft spots on the floor of the fourth floor that need to be looked at.

Very bad experience

Upon check in, I was informed the elevator was not working BUT I was assigned to the second floor and was told the elevator would be working in the morning. Front desk very kind and courteous. My room was for the most part clean and there was no carpet on the floor. It was all flooring and tile. It looks like there is ongoing renovations, lots of dust on the floor. There is small kitchen space and there is coffee, regular size fridge, two burner stove, dishes and silverware which I thought was great. Bed was comfortable and I did not see any bugs. Bathroom also was fine. I tried to take the elevator down in the morning and it was still not working. I wish I had been told about the elevator not working. I was by myself and I’ve had back surgery. It was hard even just to the second floor. I would call and ask if the elevator is working if you are considering this hotel.

The hotel is in the process of renovation. My room was clean however the deadbolt on the door didn't work. It is an extended stay hotel, however it doesn't advertise itself as one. I only stayed one night, but for those planning on a longer stay should be aware that because it is an extended stay there isn't daily housekeeping. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Place is going through renovations but the staff is friendly, helpful and the rooms are cozy, clean, and more like a studio apartment. We enjoyed it here, plus they offer board games for free to use and return, and a mini store of drinks and snacks. Worth it for a decent stay away. Plus they offer desks in the room so if you need a quiet place to work this is it.

i had to walk down to the front desk three times and the staff was not very pleasant about it all. They ended up giving me a different room further away and that key finally worked. I am a senior so all that walking to get a key to work was not good. The room was ok, the bed was not comfortable and the tv in the new room was not working well So we gave up trying to watch it as i was too tired. We stayed at this property as it was close to the hospital. My husband was having a heart procedure early in the morning. We arrived an hour before 3pm check in but was told she would have to charge me a 25.00 early check in fee. She did state she had rooms ready but i decided to wait out the hour. The two ladies working the front desk were not pleasant at all. The man that helped us with the final key that worked was pleasant. This property does not offer breakfast and they do not have a ice machine. You have to turn on the icemaker in the freezer and wsit till it makes ice cubes. Not planning on staying here again.
