Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tampa USF Busch Gardens by IHG

My Wife and I had an early departure this past friday, Breakfast was to be served at 6:30am, we came down to have breakfast to start are day home, We waited to 7:00 am and still nothing when i went to the reception desk and asked, they just said they are working on it it should be out soon, final after waiting again for breakfast and still wasn't ready, so we checked out and left.

Friendly and welcoming staff.

Our air conditioner wasn’t working, it was 75 degrees in there. Also a lot of really loud traffic sounds, and we were all the way up on the 4th floor.

Stay was wonderful! Staff was very accommodating and rooms were exceptionally clean!

The lady at the front desk when we got there around 7pm was freaking amazing. It was right before the shift change, but I cannot remember her name for sure. I think it was Zee. She was so pleasant and I couldn't ask for anyone better. The breakfast was sweeet. Lots of REAL options for FOOD. The coffee was good too, which is a huge BONUS for me!! Nothing at all

Very friendly warm staff especially at the reception, liked the shuttle to Busch gardens so that we didn't have to drive/ waste gas and didn't need to pay parking fees of $35/50 for Busch gardens parking. Many eateries by walking distance, just have to look out for traffic/ vehicles. Wish HI could provide disposable toothbrushes but overall a good visit. Thank you HI. 😊

Is a great location, close to the park and with a shuttle service, all the staff was very professional and helpful, Breakfast was good and fresh. We just have one little problem, and it was the condition of the bathroom, I bring the issue to the front desk, and they were sorry, I didn't request a change of room, but I wish they took more time looking into the condition of the rooms, our bathroom had a big stein on the ceiling, looked like it was a leak from the second floor, that they forgot to fix. The rest of the room was in great condition, and the housekeeping staff was very professional 5 stars for them. We have a great experience with Reggie the driver of the shuttle 5 stars for him.

For the price, I was very surprised at the condition of the property. I travel fairly often and certainly wasn’t expecting the Taj Mahal, but I didn’t the bathroom door to be so beat up and the laminate peeling off of surfaces…that being said… it was clean and bed was very comfortable!! Staff was very friendly as well.

Friendly staff, certainly reception and shuttlebus driver Rick were great. Good breakfast, nice rooms. Shuttle super flexible to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. Restaurants nearby. Lyft driver warned us hotel was not in a good area. You can walk to restaurants nextdoor, but rest of area a bit sketchy.

The breakfast was disgusting, the facilities were super dirty, the elevator floor was beyond filthy, the tub in the room was not clean either.

Had a handicap accessible shower, which made an amazing difference, being able to shower without climbing over a tub wall. The shuttle to Busch Gardens was so much better than having to pay the $40 parking fees! Rick was prompt in picking us up and helping to get our Go-go cart loaded. Thank you again for a pleasant stay!

Everything was perfect about our stay! Check-in was friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom amenities, such as towels, lotions and bathing products were good quality. The beds were very comfortable and the Keurig coffeemaker was really appreciated! Before check-out, we enjoyed the Continental breakfast. (I'm gluten-free, so I was very happy to find a delicious omelet, sausage, and GF pancakes that I could have!) Check-out was quick. We would definitely come back to this area and this specific hotel again!!

The carpet was gross in my room. Stained. Hole in the wall that had a covering over it that fell off. The room smelled gross. The tub was stained and gross so I showered in my flip flops. Pool was underwhelming. They do provide a shuttle to Busch Gardens that was very helpful

Excellent location, beside Olive Garden restaurant. Close to Publix supermarket and Hardrock casino. Parking problematic in evenings....always full Hotel overall very nice, but showing age....rooms need updating. Staff very friendly....pool srea looked nice, never used it.

Breakfast dining area was filthy and I was there as early as 7am. The pillows in the room need to be changed often, they were so soft and uncomfortable.

There were no chairs or lounge chairs or tables at the pool, I had to ask for them and when they brought them out, they brought 2, the hotel was packed. We had to take turns using lounge chairs, ridiculous. The pool towels, my dish towel at home was bigger. Very disappointing. Breakfast was the same thing everyday, no variables. When my granddaughter, who is 8 said, Nana -why do we have to eat the same thing everyday. Then we started going out for breakfast.

Front desk staff (Tara) very friendly and helpful! Stayed on the 1st floor and was very convenient but loud at times with conversations in the hallway. Bed was very comfortable. Downfall was that the carpet was very dirty and didn't want to walk on it without shoes.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed, valued, and truly cared for. The level of hospitality was top-tier. What made this experience even more special was how they went above and beyond for my son’s birthday. One of the staff members kindly asked for permission and then blessed my son with a sweet birthday gesture—giving him two dollars and a big, heartfelt hug. That moment meant so much to us and truly showed the genuine kindness of the team. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but it was really the staff that made this stay exceptional. Their warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness turned a simple trip into a memorable celebration. We are beyond grateful and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place that feels like home with a touch of extra love!

Dirty room

It was just across the street from Busch gardens and not far from the zoo. Not do clean. The breakfast was meh. No oatmeal. No consideration for GF needs.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It was in a sketchy neighborhood, our first room didn’t have working door lock, we asked to switch. There was a lot of water damage in the bathrooms, carpet smelled musty. Our tub shower faucet wasn’t attached properly. Off site people snuck in the hotel to hand out coupons. Breakfast was rotated every other day between a few items. Certainly the worst Holiday Inn Express we stayed at.

I had reserved a 3 night stay. Living in New York I had no idea of the area, but it was Tampa and it was very near Busch Gardens. The area is a ghetto and not very welcoming. I didn't even get out of the car when I arrived at the hotel. I called the hotel to cancel and was told I had to cancel through Expedia. I contacted Expedia and was told I had to cancel through the hotel. I was charged for all three nights and never entered the building but did contact both the hotel and Expedia. I will never use Expedia again after this trip, where I booked by Air and three hotels. Extremely unhappy.

For a $310 a night this was the worst room I’ve ever gotten. The smell (wet carpet), I felt a bug crawl on my leg, the shower had hair. I might as well gotten a motel 6.

The shuttle to Busch Gardens was great. I don't remember the front desk clerk's name, but she was very helpful when I needed some assistance.

They had a shuttle but we did not use. Was not warm enough for the pool. Overall, good hotel. Friendly staff, good breakfast with variety and replenished right away. Not sure about the area around the hotel. It is almost right across from busch gardens, but there are many homeless in the area.

I don’t feel like the are was safe for walking too far, but Olive Garden close by and Dunkin available within .2 miles was nice. We ate at Dunkin not a huge fan of breakfast offered.

I had room 327, right by the elevator, but it was quiet, aside from a disgruntled employee at Olive Garden next door slamming things into the dumpster at 12:30am! The room was renovated, clean, spacious, and comfortable. I had no issues with the room, everything worked, water pressure was good in the shower, and plenty of towels. The beds were comfortable, had soft and firm pillows, AC worked well, and the chair was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, they even had BACON although it was replaced with sausage towards the end of breakfast, plenty of cinnamon rolls, and lots to choose from. I enjoyed the veggie omelets and left breakfast full and satisfied. I would definitely stay again, the room was a good value, and my only issue was my room key stopped working after I got into my room, as I went back outside to get something, couldn't get back in through rear door, luckily another guest was entering, and then couldn't get into my room, but they gave me new key cards. Everything else was great! I recommend staying at this Holiday Inn Express!

And since I was told there would be a kitchen and there wasn’t, along with everything else described above, I would greatly appreciate a voucher or a credit fo the total amount that my friend gifted me, so I can use this at another Holiday Inn, which would be much better suited for me. Or if it’s easier, please refund the full amount but to my card ending in 1352. Maureen.

Rally bad stains in the bathtub, Stains in the carpet, and bathroom facet was not working well. . . I mentioned to the desk about the really nasty stains in the bottom of the Tub, and all He did was just us a couple rags to "try" to clean it up. Sad!!!

We ate breakfast every morning. Most of the options were cold (omelets and sausage patties). However, it saved is from purchasing breakfast every morning. Additionally, our room was clean, but we struggled with the amount of studfiness we were experiencing in the room. We had to keep running the AC to combat it but it was below 50 degrees every night we were there! The only great thing about our experience was the shuttle to Busch Gardens. The drivers were very friendly and efficient. We went two days in a row, one of them being on New Years eve. We left the park around 12:30am and our drive Rick was quick to respond and picked us up. The ladies at front desk both days were so nice and friendly. Rooms were great but carpet was dirty and had stains. They need to deep clean carpets every now and then. Breakfast was decent. Close to Bush Gardens park. Will stay again if we come back to Tampa

The receptionist that checked us in is fantastic she is so personable and pleasant to work with. Also the receptionist that was there later that night was very nice when I was making purchases. It makes a stay special when you have workers that makes you feel special working there.

The carpet in my room was filthy. Management was advised and they seemed to have been aware. The other areas were ok. Breakfast was satisfactory and the staff in the breakfast area was responsive.

The room was perfect. It was clean and the breakfast was good. The shuttle runs late for Howl o scream but we had a friend drive anyway. I would stay here again for Howl o scream. Breakfast they had cinnamon buns, a pancake machine and those premade omelets. It is a perfect place to stay for Busch Gardens.

When we arrived we noticed the sheets had stains and noticed the front desk. Our sheets were changed prior to the next night. The stay was good, and the staff friendly and tentative. No complaints other than the sheets

Clean. Great shuttle to Busch Gardens. Next to good food options. Hotel locks the doors at night restriction to card access, nice measure but also necessary for area. Perfect hotel if you’re doing a day at the theme park.

We settled for bed after a long day. Unfortunately we didn’t sleep much at all due to noise from the motel next door, all through the night shouting and cars racing outside. Breakfast was really good - a great selection and we enjoyed everything we had. All fresh and replenished regularly. We loved our trip to Busch gardens and the set up at Holiday Inn was fantastic but not sure we could stay again due to the noise unfortunately.

The staff there were excellent great what they did the Driver that drives from the hotel to Busch Gardens. Both of them were excellent the morning breakfast sucked really no taste. Really not that much of a good selection. The room was good clean just a little problems. the bed was so so that’s one of the best hotels in Tampa next to Busch Gardens.

Staff (Tara at the front desk and Rick, driver for Busch Gardens) are awesome. They have worked here for years because i have to this location many times. In fact I don't even consider going anywhere else.

I stayed only one night. Hotel cleanliness was ok, the outdoors was clean, lobby area clean too. My only complaint was bathroom tub had hair, it looked like it was just wiped and toilet had hair and that the base of the toilet had dried pee. I know something easy to fix besides that everything else was ok.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I always stay here when I come to Tampa.

Breakfast is suppose to start at 6:30 but they only had a small portion of the food out and didn’t have all the food out until 7:10am. The biscuits were old not fresh hard as a rock, gravy was very watery, even the sausage and muffins were old,hard. Usually I enjoy Hilton free breakfast but this was the worse .

The staff checking in was very nice, the staff working daily was super nice and chatted with you a bit. Loved the ride to Bush Gardens, it was nice to not have to worry about parking there, it was super easy getting to and from the park. Rick was a very nice driver. The room, WOW, it was larger than I expected, the nicest thing was there was a cabinet by the coffee maker to put snacks and such, most places just have a small area of a counter space. This actually had a big cabinet area with mini fridge and microwave. When I say there was plenty of room for things, there was a lot of room for all your needs. Large area for your luggage, big desk to work at, comfy chair to sit in, wardrobe closet, dresser. An added nice touch was the hooks on the wall for stuff as well. When I go back over to Tampa I will stay here again. Some complain about little dirt areas by the floor boards, who's house doesn't have that, it's a hotel that has people coming and going, Banging things into the wall and destroying areas, try to keep your floor boards in A+ condition with people coming and leaving daily. Don't be picky, it's a really nice hotel to stay at. Try it for yourself it is nice.

Only problem was the red stain in tub and on the carpet. It’s looks like red hair dye.

Keke at the front desk area is great give all the information we need, a great attitude and very nice person. The room are very good. Recommend this if you are going with you family.

Great hotel if your going to one of the Busch Gardens parks. Rooms were clean, staff was super friendly, free parking and breakfast....AND a shuttle to take you to and from the parks on demand! I'll stay here again when going to the parks

Keekee greated us as soon as we came thru the door. Fastest and smoothest checkin I have ever experienced. She was our furst impression and it was an excellent one. The shuttle to and from Bush Gardens was awesome and quick service. We will definitely be staying there again the next time we are in town.

The room looked runned down especially the bathtub. The highlight of staying here was the friendly staff and the shuttle service.

The staff always very nice and continental breakfast good as well. Wish pillows were better.

The gentleman that checked us in was nice. The room was at least somewhat close to what I reserved, but it could be updated & cleaned a little better. Area around the hotel is not upscale either.

Complementary shuttle to and from Busch Gardens was convenient. Large variety of food at breakfast busy it was busy so multiple items were not available. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily. I didn't catch her name but the girl that works afternoons at the front desk is a total sweetheart.

Clean and nice

Overall the stay was great. There were a few minor issues but we chose to deal with it rather than complain. The thermostat in our room did not work correctly. We changed the settings to attempt to correct it but it didn’t work. I had to wake up several times a night to change the temperature to get the thermostat to turn on. The faucet in the tub/shower turned every way and didn’t stop. We had to find the sweet spot to turn it off. The hotel was super busy and there wasn’t enough room for people to eat. I think this was mainly due to the large groups (church, teen field trips) that would eat together. Parking is bad. Kiki, the evening front desk clerk, is AMAZING. This place is lucky to have her on board!

Cute decor & beachy. Definitely a Floridian feel! Could use a bathroom remodel & grout cleaning. Air conditioner was noisy.

The only reason it is getting 2 star is the lady at the front counter upon check in was super friendly and having fun with her job making everyone smile but after that first night it only went down hill ac only worked part of the time hot water was limited to a luke warm shower the rest of the staff either didnt speak english or was super rude and inconvenienced by anything you said or needed and my wife and i both ended up with a rash on our back im assuming came from the beds wont stay here again

The room was basic but met our needs. We had a fridge, microwave and a coffee/tea machine. The customer service was excellent. The breakfast was ok- I would have enjoyed some fresh fruit or more toppings for the pancakes. The bed was comfortable and the maid service was great .

A little dated but reasonably priced, great breakfast, outstanding staff, walking distance to Busch Gardens and several restaurants.

The girl who checked us in at the desk was super friendly, she did a great job explaining everything. When we got to our room, I needed to shower after travel. The shower had strings of hair in there. Then I noticed spattered on the wall by the doorway entrance below the mirror. The toilet kept messing up. I didn’t want to complain and ruin my boyfriend's birthday trip. But it’s a no for me, I didn’t complain to him not once but I felt like a review was necessary.

I was given a room that was stayed in and not cleaned. When I went to the front desk they refused to give me a clean room. The lady at the desk would not answer my questions so I had to call corporate and I called the cops. Worst experience I have ever had!

Compared to a Hiton Garden I stayed in last week in Cleveland Ohio, this was the best of the Two . Holiday Inn Express in Tampa was Half the price for more nights and twice the service.

Hotel overall is in need of a good remodel. There’s a lot of patchwork, rooms smell humid and old. I had requested 2 rooms that communicated and when I arrived I was informed that they don’t have any but one of my rooms had the door inside. A/C was barely cold regardless of the settings, you could hear everything in hallways and others rooms. Lobby floor was always dirty or stained. Best thing was Rick, the shuttle driver. He was lovely!

The front desk lady was extremely friendly and helpful! Our room is very nice and spacious. Pool area could use a bit of a spruce up.

Difficult to enter snd exit the tub/shower. Additional grab bars needed. AC blower is noisy. Friendly snd helpful staff.

Breakfast was my only issue. Other guests were filling plates like they had not eaten in a week. Staff replaced food items as fast as they could.

The property is fairly new but not taken care of. The bathroom door had a hole in it. The tub has red stains. The carpet was worn. There was hardly any amenities in the room. No hair dryer, q tips or cotton, no shower cap. It is a shame what has happened to this property.

The hotel is average at best…and that’s generous. The neighborhood is suspect

I rented two rooms. One had no hot water in the shower. The other the phone didn’t work, the air conditioner did not blow cold air. Both bath tubs were dingy. They may have been clean but they need to be resurfaced.

Went to Busch Gardens which is minutes away. They have a shuttle to take you to/from Busch which means you save $ on parking. Breakfast, ehh. Staff is super nice

The second day, we were able to get a second, empty duvet cover. Our room was never cleaned and we had to chase down fresh towels as we didn’t receive any room service. The breakfast was nice and the hotel layout was helpful for a quick exit to the back parking lot when we had to leave early on our departure day. Adequate laundry facility as well.

We reserved the king sized room. On the second floor. It was super spacious the bathroom and the room as well. The room came shampoo conditioner body wash. I can’t complain. I loved it.
