Grand Palms Resort

First I didn’t want to make this review based off this stat since I’ve stayed here before and had a lovely experience. However this time around was not as good. Firstly, the shower still had hair in it. And the cloths for washing also had tiny hairs in them. I have a weak stomach to hair so this automatically made me want to leave. Secondly, the floors were nasty. I walked around the room maybe 5 minutes before getting in the shower and when I got in I had dirt coming from under my feet. The floors were nasty. Lastly, the cable kept going in and out and the internet barely worked. We had a tech guy come and not quite fix it but he was very helpful and were able to watch a full episode of a show finally. The front desk staff didn’t really offer anything for the inconveniences so I just feel like they didn’t care. Didn’t even sound sincere when apologizing.

I traveled with my husband and kids our youngest is 1 year old. The one bedroom villa was perfect. I felt safe and right at home. I absolutely love this place. The best place I have ever stayed at in Myrtle beach. I highly recommend if you want to be away from all the " riff raff."

Indoor and outdoor pools. More laid back and peaceful. Loved seeing the geese’s, but they left a lot of pool that the small children would accidentally step in. Yucky.

Amenities were great I booked a single king room. I have an after hours check in, due to, I worked second shift and a long drive. Once I finally got there, I called security, about 30 minutes and they showed up. Once I got to my room, it was 2 double beds ( I’m 6’1” and I don’t do double beds”). I caught the security guard in the parking lot and told him that there was a mistake with my room, he said “I can’t do anything about it tonight, but stay there tonight and the front desk will take care of it in the morning when I check in). We couldn’t put our things away properly all we could do was just try and get some rest. My feet were hanging off the bed, couldn’t get comfortable, so I decided to go to the couch so I wouldn’t keep my wife awake. The next morning I went to the office to check in and let them know that I needed to be switched to the correct room that I asked for. She proceeded to check me in. Once I got the check in paper to sign I noticed that it had the same building and room number that I was staying in. I told her that I requested a king room and I wanted to be moved to a king room. She said and I quote “sir we upgraded you from a king room to a 2 double bed room” I said “ that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of, that’s not an upgrade from a king to a double” she said let me go talk with her manager. She came back and moved me to a king room. Also, I didn’t realize that it wasn’t beachfront (but that’s what I get for not doing my research). But when I actually called in the next day after making my online reservation. I told the guy “I didn’t see anything online about choosing oceanfront, balcony or anything like that, and that I would like to request oceanfront balcony room.” He said that he would put it in the notes. Once I got there I noticed that the whole resort wasn’t on the beach at all. All someone had to do was inform me of this and I could’ve and would’ve gotten a refund and went somewhere else and been much happier.

my mother was mad at first bc it is confusing to get in but after you figure it out you’ll realize it is definitely worth the effort and time, the staff were very helpful as well as the hotel is one of the best my family has ever seen in surfside!! 10000/10!!!

The bed in the primary bedroom was in need of updating. The unit and and all of the amenities were great, but that mattress needs to be changed.

The resort was beautiful and the rooms were spacious. We had everything we needed If we wanted to cook. If we needed more towels all we had to do is call and they brought them right away. It was a beautiful experience. I will definitely go back there and stay

Staff were very friendly, the room was very spacious and clean. The pools were not over crowded and they offered a shuttle to take to the pier. Highly recommend and will return.

The hotel was very clean and spacious. The only complaint I have as far as the room itself was the dishwasher. It would constantly run and never drain the water from it. We called for laundry detergent and they brought it within the next 30 minutes. Overall this was a great stay and we plan to come back!

Location was great and loved the convenience. The only thing I would recommend working on would be getting smaller floats for kids for the lazy river.

The amenities. Was sad that the spa was closed on the weekend. The unit that we had the first night wreaked of mold. They should not put anyone in unit 236 C2H until it’s renovated. I couldn’t sleep and couldn’t breathe. Clean the ducts so the rooms smell better.

It's a great place for a family vacation. We had a 2-bedroom villa; it had 2 bathrooms. The place smelled musky, but I had an oil plug-in that helped. The sliding glass door was very difficult to open. Overall, it looked like this villa didn't get much upgrade when it was purchased. The view was great with the small pond and geese. The price was good, but I would prefer to stay in a newer unit next time. The amenities were awesome. We do hope to come back next year.

The room was clean but the outside grounds were nasty and trashy. My husband had to call security the 2nd night because someone was trying to get in our room. We didnt even stay the 3rd night and they did nothing but give vouchers for thw amenities. Never again will I stay there. I even called thw General manager and he never returned my call.

My family and I loved the stay. We stayed in the two bedroom loft. It was super spacious for all 3 adults and 7 kids. The staff was super friendly. The indoor, outdoor, lazy river and kiddie pool was are favorites. Everything was so nicely kept. Definitely will be returning!!

Spent Memorial Day weekend there with my 4 kids (17-3) and we had a great time. The rooms were cleaned and we loved the kiddie pool and lazy river!

We had a great vacation. The bus shuttle made it easy to get to the beach with all our family. The grandchildren loved the pool and the lazy river.

We would definitely go there again.

The room was very nice, no issues, very clean, comfortable bed. It was very nice to have a kitchen. The outdoor pool was amazing, also enjoyed the indoor pool. The only thing I wish I knew, the check in area/front desk is about a mile from the actual room. We did not rent a car, so this was an issue. We also were traveling with someone who has mobility issues. The front desk arranged for the shuttle to take us to the room, but on check out day the shuttle was not running due to the memorial day holiday. It would be great if the front desk was a regular stop on the shuttle route.

All the amenities were super convenient and close, extremely clean facilities, exceptionally nice staff always willing to accommodate and help in any way they can. I felt like they went above and beyond. I think the only thing that was Maybe commented was the street signs in the property could be a little bit bigger to be a little more visible, especially at night and when it’s raining.

We stayed the first night and found out we had bed bugs told front desk so had to spend a whole day on vacation moving and combing through luggage. Just asked for 2 day compensation and reimbursement since we weren’t able to enjoy our vacation due to cleaning and was denied then felt as if they didn’t believe us after I told them I physically caught a bug and kept, as well as took pictures to help back up our accusation and still didn’t make it right. Could of been a good place to stay but the lack of hospitality and their ability to make me and my family feel comfortable about the situation makes you regret the choice of thinking you picked a safe and secure environment for your family to stay in

The front desk was very helpful but now the other individual was half and half they were happy telling us places to go and see example like the aquarium telling us the tickets being free if we sat down and listened what they offered, but I declined then the mood turn soured and awkward maybe have one that can be okay if they decline it 😅

arrived early, 3:30, did not have our room ready till shortly after 5 !

We were in town for bike week so we didn't get to enjoy the pools but access to them seemed amazing. Free shuttles running all the time was a huge plus. We will definitely come back!

For the 2 of us, it was a great stay. In this community enjoyed everything about the unit.

Stayed here 2 nights with my 2 young kids for a sports competition. Received a complimentary upgrade to a larger room. Apartment was very clean and spacious.Great amenities. Plenty to do on site. Will definitely stay again!

We were there for three nights and it rained pretty much every day off and on so we weren't able to enjoy the pool or any of the other amenities. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff was definitely very friendly and helpful.

Everything was perfect exceeded. Our expectations. Parking was super easy. They gave us parking passes and Resort passes. The pool and pot tub were amazing. The room was super super clean bigger than we expected and they were even baby geese. Will stay again soon

The room was amazingly clean. The service was impeccable really great originally I wanted to be on the beach, but I didn't get what I wanted to get so for me to be able to get something that was similar was really mind blowing. I'm so grateful for everyone.

This is a great place to stay with children. The rooms are spacious and the pool is wonderful.

The very first room, they put me in stomped like a wet dog. AC did not work the next room they put me in still had the previous renters soap in the shower. It appeared that it was either makeup or blood on the air dryer the fan in the living room/dining room room area about, fell off its rack. Had to call maintenance.

Pretty much forced into a timeshare meeting. They told me they would place a hold on my card to reserve my spot for it and then reassured me that it wouldn’t come out and was only a hold. Welp. It did in fact charge my card. I was then called at my room again to try to get me to go to a meeting. The floors were NASTY!!!! My feet and my sons were black within 30 minutes of showering from the disgusting floors.

This was the perfect calm stay. The amenities were wonderful. Everything was so clean, the rooms were so clean and up to date. Loved it! I would stay here again.

The room was comfortable and clean and the outdoor pool was great. The shuttle to the beach was convenient. The one downside is that no restaurants were really within walking distance of the rooms.

The room overall was nice but bring shoes to wear inside, the floors were FILTHY! Our feet were dirty from walking around inside. Also not a fan of the check in process. Three stations to be pressured into their time share presentation, all before you can get to your room is a lot. Google or call to see if amenities are open before you book, lots were closed during our stay. Location to beach was great though.

Nothing I wasn’t happy with my stay. Never again will I book at this location. When trying to get in touch with the front desk no body was able to help me with the situation that was going on. The people that was staying above me didn’t let me sleep both nights being on the property. The people above me were up from 10pm to 4am fighting and running around. The lights on the ceiling were moving as if they were about to fall from the ceiling. I will never again book with this resort. I don’t recommend this to anyone.

Amenities I ended up having to stay in what felt like a dorm suite because the website allowed me to book a room that was unavailable and the actual space I booked was to accommodate 4 so I paid almost 400$ for a a king bed and I needed the 2 beds because it was 4 of us

Front desk person was pushy for the presentation even after I said no three times. Pillows too soft as I prefer a firm pillow. Mildred smell in my condo, like the AC unit was leaking into the carpet.

The room was very nice, indoor pool and hot tub. Small pool for a big resort. Not enough space for people. My toilet wasn’t working and leaking water all over the floor , I didn’t have a shower curtain, guest services is not that helpful. They did not care

The property is beautiful and the staff was great at check-in. There was a little mixup with our villa but we were upgraded to another villa and everything worked out perfectly. The property is surround by lots of stores and resturants, and it's about a 15 minute drive to Myrtle Beach. We would definately stay here again.

We weren’t able to use some the amenities because of renovation but the outdoor pool was very nice. The grounds were nicely kept up and the location wasn’t bad. We didn’t have to travel very far for Broadway at the beach, outlet and the mall. The room itself was very clean and had everything we needed. The washer and dryer are definitely a perk. We would stay here again.

It was a nice stay except it would have been nice knowing before we booked that the lazy river and indoor pool were closed for renovations. So kind of sucked not knowing that before booking.

Unit was spacious and lovely decor. Great value for price paid. Things to consider: Two night minimum stay. Booked thru Expedia so wasn’t aware. In town visiting fam member in hospital, turned out didn’t need both nights but no flexibility there. No place to plug in charger on either nightstand! Had to place chair against wall and set phone on it to be able to use outlet. Check in at separate building, then receive map to locate unit within large 2 story condo compound. Was a bit difficult to find room at night. My unit was 2nd floor, so had to drag bag upstairs at night. (Didn’t find an elevator) Upon check in with front desk, you are directed to another person to pick up your parking pass. The first staff could easily do this, but I’m guessing this is the redirect to the timeshare person. Super friendly but more questions, so feels like you had to check in twice. To be fair, I wasn’t on vacation like most, so it wasn’t best fit for my needs.

The staff was so attentive and helpful. Ended up extending my stay by 1 night because we were having such a great time. Will definitely be back soon! One of my favorite stays thus far.

Been coming to grand palms for quite a few visits over the last 3 years and keep coming back because of several reasons! It's south of the congestion of Myrtle Beach and it has so many of the same conveniences such as restaurants, shopping and quite a bit of things to do in the area and the beach is beautiful!⛱️

The Fact that they gave us a room with 2 full size bed ,for me and my husband and the room had a funny smell but we made the best of it.

Parking was easy. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Barbara as the rec manager brings the fun and energy. We loved her daily voice messages. Barbara started our day off with a smile!

205 G2 wasnt up to cleaning and the smell had to buy cleaning supplies to reclean. Stuff was nit working inside the condo reported it nothing happen. The insidecof the freezer part had mold on the seal inside the freezer

We got a great price, better than a hotel and such a fun time with our family. Beds were so comfortable, plenty of towels. Staff was kind and accommodating. Definitely worth checking out!

Did not use pool therefore can’t rate! Other than that my stay was extremely nice. Would consider asking about a assisted bathtub due to height of tub & stepping over & height of bed, older people can’t get into bed that high off the ground.

Although this property is not on the beach, it was not far from it and had alot for kid/family things to do on site. There are good dining options all around. The staff was friendly. We had a two bedroom condo. It was very clean. We were missing two remotes, but maintenance brought them. I will stay again.

The property was okay. It was good. Some of the areas were very dated. Our room was probably 30 years old? We had a leak issue from the air conditioner above us one evening dripping through the ceiling it was addressed fairly quickly. All in all it was a good stay. Would we stay there again it would depend on our other options. The staff was very nice. It was very centrally located and quick to our destination..

Very clean. Brought us towels/wash clothes/ laundry detergent and dish soap as much as we needed. As a family with 2 small children the shuttle was so nice to have to take us to and from the beach.

This has became an annual family vacation for us staff always amazing. Love the text communication. Also your maintenance guy is top notch our dryer went out on a Sat and he came to save the day immediately. My family felt safe and facility was clean as usual you guys didn’t disappoint.

Didn't know it was pet friendly. Not sure if it was for 29 condo. Nice exercise with pools and sidewalks. Nice location for restaurants. Friendly people but I was overwhelmed checking in after a 4.5 hour drive and Wyndham resort was asking for my credit card for a 60.00 hold credit card fee for a show up for a high pressure sales to buy a plan for travelling for the next 10 years. Seemed it was expected if you were staying at their resort. Stressful to me when I was only there for a short time and was just trying to relax. The presentation was more than 90 minutes. I think it was about 2.5 hours. Overall it was a nice time and I am thankful anytime I have a vacation.

Upon arrival nice room,but no shower curtain,asked for one to be hung,they left it on our room door,I had to hang it myself!

Would not rent this again. Might rent at the resort, but not this type of condo.

It was ok, one of the front desk clerks was a little rude and had an ugly attitude as I was checking in. I had asked for a manager and she said she didn’t know when they were coming in and had left it at that. So I had asked another desk clerk about a manager and they were able to bring one out. Overall the stay with my kids was great, just minus the rudeness of the desk clerk

The property is always clean with very good location to shopping and dining and the beach ⛱️! We did have a problem with my mother's room where the key cards weren't working and inconvenient to my mother 3 times to go back to the office for reprogrammimg

The room was clean and I liked that there was a washer/dryer in the unit. The microwave and fridge were great for restaurants' leftovers.

The hotel was clean but much older than expected with furniture that had been repainted appliances had some rust. Bathtub was old. Good enough for the price but very basic

The resort property was beautiful and clean. The outside pool was large however, it only went 4 feet deep. It seemed to be for children only. The indoor pool was small. There was an activity room outside of the outdoor pool only open Monday-Friday which was a bummer because we stayed only the weekend. There was also an activity room near the indoor pool. Which had a pool table, ping pong, giant connect four and some quarter games which may or may not have worked. Overall decent stay for the weekend. They also offer shuttle services to the beaches.

What we didnt like all the batteries inthe remotes to tvs were bad. Called front desk they came in and replaced. Our key fob wouldn't open certain areas. We have stayed here twice now very nice area and in the middle of everything.

5 stars highly recommend. My family truly enjoyed our stay. We scored a free upgrade which got us a 2 bedroom villa that literally was an apartment with everything you needed inside including washer and dryer. The staff was amazing, everyone was nice from the moment we checked in! Fast response from security when we had a minor disturbance coming from upstairs. Extremely clean and the amenities were nice as well!

Overall our stay was nice with the exception of having two hours of our time used to speak with Wyndham time share. The young woman we spoke with was very friendly and let us know she was not going to push us into buying. But then we were asked by another gentleman how we could afford to stay there but not get a timeshare. It’s cheaper just to get one. The pools were outdated though we did spend more time at the indoor it seemed to be the best option out of the pool areas. The kid pool is underwhelming and could use an upgrade for sure. We loved seeing the turtles and loved the space that our villa offered. Our favorite by far of the stay was how close it is to literally every thing. I would give it a 8.5/10

Ive stayed at this property a few times now and I've really enjoyed it every time!

Our stay was fabulous. We were in a King Studio and had plenty of room. At check in they put put us near the pool and it was perfect access. The amenities are all in great condition, the staff were all friendly, and the housekeeping staff we came in contact with were very nice.

The problem with this resort was that you had people that lived there and families vacationing. We were on the bottom floor of a 2 floor unit. The family of three that were above us lived there. Absolutely no insulation between units and it sounded like a herd of elephants living above us. You could hear them using the bathroom, talking, fighting, walking around at all hours….i travel a lot and hands down the worst I’ve ever experienced. When I called the front desk to complain they suggested I approach them and ask them to quiet down, or they could send maintenance. The fact they lived their did not seem an appropriate option. Very disappointing. Will not stay there again, nor recommend.

Grand Palm Resorts has been our go to place when we stay around Myrtle Beach! Close to everything, the area is awesome and they keep everything in such great shape! Itll continue to be our place to stay when we visit

Nice secluded area, easy access to stores. Did not want to leave. Very beautiful place to stay.

I was met instead by after-hours security personnel. When I stated I was near the country club area, the officer responded, “You don’t want to be in that area, GAL.” This statement was both inappropriate and alarming, raising immediate concerns for the safety of my family. The officer further informed me there was no assigned room for my reservation and offered a room “for last night only.” Despite paying for a deluxe unit, I was taken to a substandard, motel-style room in an unwelcoming environment. Inside, I was told I would not receive a key, which would have prevented us from entering or leaving freely—an arrangement that posed clear safety and liability risks. Given these circumstances, I was left with no reasonable choice but to secure alternative lodging to protect my family. This constitutes a breach of contract, failure to provide paid accommodations, and a disregard for guest safety that could expose the resort to legal liability. I am formally requesting: • A full refund of my reservation. • A written explanation of how this occurred. • Assurance of corrective measures to prevent similar incidents. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 10 business days, I will pursue remedies through my credit card provider, the Better Business Bureau, and applicable consumer protection agencies.

Overall this resort is an excellent place to stay. We had a slight issue but the staff & management were very apologetic and provided new accommodations as well as compensation. I have been vacationing at Myrtle Beach for years and I can honestly say this is in my top 3 of places I’ve stayed.

Room wasn't refilled with towels daily. Front desk wouldn't answer the phone or call back after leaving a message. Front desk was very polite but not informative at all about how the time share process works at this resort. Room was very nice and modern BUT bed was very creaky sounding and not comfortable after night 3. Night security guard was more helpful than the front desk.

The day would’ve been much better if the two pools were not across the street from each other. It’s inconvenient to have to go back-and-forth between the two pool areas.

We thought this was a nice place to stay but after we left we found out it might not be. They make you speak to someone after checking in and get you reduced tickets to sit through a 90 minute timeshare presentation. However, that 90 minutes turns into 3 hours. They charge the wrong amount upon check in and then mess with your account after checking out. There was a grill on the balcony above us that kept dropping hot ash down onto the patio outside our door so we couldn’t use the patio if anyone was grilling above us. They will tell you it takes a few days to get your security deposit back but then say it could take weeks. If I had known all of this before booking I would have went some place else.

Wonderful Resort for Families! This resort was beautiful and very clean. The location was perfect—just a short walk to the beach and close to restaurants. We loved that there were both indoor and outdoor pools, and the free ice on the property was a nice bonus! The staff truly made our stay even better. Everyone was friendly and helpful—especially Bianca at the front desk. She was absolutely amazing! The only downside was the pull-out couch, which wasn’t very sturdy and could definitely use an upgrade. To be fair, we didn’t report it during our stay, so the staff wasn’t aware. Overall, it was a fantastic spot for our family reunion weekend. Lots to do for kids and a great place to relax. We will definitely be back! ⸻ Let me know if you want a shorter or more casual version too!

It was fine. I had some business in Myrtle, and the facility worked just fine.

The service was just okay nothing special for the price. Room floors were INCREDIBLY dirty and ruined our socks. The location is oddly located and not very uber/lyft friendly. I visited the indoor pool and arcade and both were very outdated. Overall just okay not the worst but not worth the price.

The outdoor pool was really nice but me and my family did wish it was deeper. It only goes up to 4”6 for whatever reason. The indoor pool goes up to 6” but it’s a bit run down. They haven’t renovated it yet. It’s a very short drive to the beach and some shopping and dining areas which is nice, though I do wish it was walkable as well. The staff was hit or miss. Some were very very sweet however, if you’re new to that hotel they will try to get you to buy a timeshare. When I declined they got pretty aggressive trying to get me to say yes, it was kind of uncomfortable. Though I did get heavily discounted Ripley’s aquarium tickets out of it so it wasn’t all bad. Just be strong and don’t fall for it. Other than that me and my family loved the stay! Oh! I forgot to mention the back area! Where we stayed we got a small balcony overlooking the pond behind us. It was so pretty and relaxing. Had all kinds of animals like ducks, geese, turtles, even some kind of tall skinny white bird (I think an ibis maybe?). Was very nice.

Upon arriving we drove right past the registration building, drove around confused looking, due to no clear signage, asked directions from the shuttle driver who told us it's all the way out front :(---which way was that ????persistence got us to the right place, but better directions/ signs would be a big help, unless you know where you are going, it's confusing, other people in the check in line had the same opinion

We had a wonderful stay here! The kitchen is very well equipped but that doesn’t leave space for groceries in the cabinets. We had a tote we used and it was fine. The beds are super comfortable and the unit is very spacious. We had a unit that overlooked a pond with ducks, geese, turtles and swans. The pools were awesome! My little one loved the kiddie pool and the lazy river. The main pool is also so nice and warm! It’s centrally located and Myrtle beach is a quick drive. The shuttle to surfside beach was great! We would absolutely stay here again!

Was a comfortable 2 bedroom apartment. Pools and Jacuzzi could use more attention. And VERY high pressure sales for the timeshare INVESTMENT.

Our stay was horrible. We were given an old outdated room. The bathroom fans were obnoxiously loud, the place was not clean (there was food on the floors and walls super dirty), and worst of all when we showered the bathroom shower leaked into the closet and soaked my brother in laws clothes! Not a great experience.

it was a very pretty and nice experience. It was not my first time here, my kids love it. They enjoyed the pool and the view of the lake.

We rented the 2 bedroom loft condo. The Master bedroom was separate from the other bedroom, which was nice that everyone got their own space. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The kids really enjoyed the pool and lazy river. It's conveniently located near lots of fun places to visit.

The 2 bedroom Villa was spacious, and my kids enjoyed the quick walk to the pool and lazy river. It was a quick 5 minute drive to the Surfside Beach Pier. There were lots of great restaurants and touristy shops close by.

Our floors in our villa were filthy so i called maintenance twice before they finally came to mop but my husband was there while they moped and all they did was run water over the mop head and wipe the floors. They did not use any floor cleaner so our floors were still nasty. We had to keep our shoes on the entire time. Also the people upstairs did something and made water drip down to our living room. It was enough water to soak 4 beach towels before they fixed it.

We had a excellent experience at Grand Palms Resort in Surfside Beach. Check in was fast and those who worked there were pleasant. We were in a one room place which had a king size bed and pull out sofa bed. It was clean inside. Service was excellent. There's a number you text and when we needed extra shampoo, towels, etc., they replied real fast and brought us what we needed real fast. The outside pool was very nice. They have activities every day, such as surfing practice. The beach was real nice too. Overall, great experience and no major complaints. Price was very reasonable too.

Daily activities were great and the daily morning voicemail announcing each days activities was very helpful.The only negative was our final night there was a family that checked in above us and was extremely loud, but not the fault of the resort. Overall great experience, we will be back.

It was great the only thing the main bedroom the king size bed was not good at all both me and my hubbys back and hips where hurting the whole time it had a sink whole in the middle of the mattress we try turning it over but it didn’t help they need a new one

I’ve stayed at this property twice. The first time was ten years ago. The pictures are accurate of what the property looks like. Please keep in mind that they do try to sell to a timeshare and promise all these things and even if you do that you don’t get everything. Was a great place for kids tons of activities and a short drive to the beach. Not really walking distance to the beach, but easy drive. Overall a great property and would most likely stay at it again.
