Motel 6 Summerville, SC – Charleston

Only complaint I had was it stated that there was someone at the desk 24 hours a day. Not so. Went to check out early Monday morning and no one was at the front desk to check me out. Sign on the window said hours and where to go if you did need help. I would stay there again.

The one thing that ruined our experience were the roaches that were in our bathroom. I killed a total of 4 roaches. I would not recommend staying here unless you need a place for cheap.

This motel 6 by far is the best. Doing a lot of updates motel . Rooms are very clean

First room we got had an occupant that was just as surprise as we were when we tried to open the door. Given two other rooms, one of those was also occupied. Third room just looked old and dirty. We requested a refund and left to stay at the Hampton

When arrived appeared to be cleaned, but floor had a very waxy light buildup on it and your feet tops. Everything was black. went to ask staff the next morning for towels. There were no towels we left for the day and came back. The room had not been cleaned and we still did not get clean towels the night staff was very apologetic and very accommodative. Aesthetic of room was OK, but it was not clean at all.. and one second room did get clean towels. They were dirty.

Only stayed 1 night, but nice clean room, bed was comfortable, lots of restaurants close by.

When we did get in our room floor was pretty dirty, My husband walked around in his white socks, and the bottoms were actually black. The bathroom toilet seat wiggles from side to side that needs to be fixed as well as the toilet paper holder it’s loose also as far as the TV went we couldn’t figure out how to put the sound on. There was nothing on the remote. We tried everything we went to the settings and just gave up.

I don’t like to be unkind, but there are things about this property that those considering staying here should know. When I arrived as per usual, I checked my room before bringing my luggage to the room. I had reserved a, Deluxe King Bed room, but the room provided had two queen beds. I also discovered that there was Not a trash can anywhere in the room. When I inspected the bathroom, I found a Black towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The property uses white towels. I also noticed that the unsecured microwave sitting on top of the refrigerator/freezer was unplugged. I would later find out why. I went to the front desk and kindly expressed my concerns. I was told that they sometimes overbook the King bed rooms, and that I had been, ‘upgraded at no charge’. I was told a trash can would be provided and that the black towel would be removed. That Never happened. When I used the microwave, I found the door would not unlock and open, unless you unplugged it from the wall. When I flushed the toilet it took up to 8 times(no exaggeration) to remove the bowl contents. There was also loose trash on the property that was never removed in two days. Lastly, when I checked out and asked for a receipt, I was told that, ‘I had booked and paid for the room through a third party, and they would provide the receipt’. I have never been denied a hard copy receipt from any other hotel before, regardless of how I booked the room. I cannot recommend this property.

The front desk was rude and disrespectful it took hours to check me in finally after I checked in i was the one of the house keeping staff unlocked my room door walked in she unlocked my room and walked in without even knocking on the door the she said im a housekeeper making sure the bathroom has towels 🙁 it was not great experience everything was terrible

The floor was dirty and really needed to be mopped. In the bathroom, the toilet had visible stains inside, and behind the toilet seat, there was dried urine—it was disgusting. I didn’t even shower or use the bathroom after that. They really need to take the time to do a thorough deep clean. 4/10 I was really disappointed with my stay at Motel 6. The room was nice and clean. The ac worked well. House keeping was not a daily thing however. No issues with our dog staying. Overall very happy with our stay and look forward to staying again.

It was noisy and had a few cockroaches. It was very clean and everything worked. The water was quick to get hot. Nice city and close to Charleston, SC.

We reserved a king bed. We received two queens. There was a dead cockroach on the floor of our room. There was used soap in our bathtub. The blanket on the bed was too thin to keep warm. The smell of weed was strong climbing the three flights of stairs to our room. On Saturday night, there was loud partying all around us and the sound of doors being banged on all night and our door knob was jiggled. The noise lasted from midnight until about 6 a.m.

Staff and location Wi-Fi is a joke. I had to turn Wi-Fi off on my phone just to use my phone. Bugs all over the room. Night time is horrible for the bugs. Cops are in the parking lot 4 times a day. I’m sure it’s a drug hotspot . Don’t go there alone

The first room we were given, was not clean. The bed clothes were in a pile on the floor and there were personal belongings in the room. Moved to second room. There were people screaming all night and the police were involved.

Not a thing They told us we didn’t have a room, when I made the reservation a month ago and paid for it 4 days before arriving. She told me I would have to wait for the room to be cleaned. Sent me to a room that was occupied. Then finally gave me a room at 8:15 pm when checking time was 3pm the room floor was filthy. Shoes would stick to floor. Worst experience ever

Floor had a sticky feel to it, exhaust fan in bathroom was not working. Bath towels were small and thin.

The parking was usually not in front of my door, I had to park further down. Being handicapped this was not very convenient.

The initial staff checking in was polite, but the 2nd day staff was rude, disrespectful, threatening, nothing good to say about the front desk girl with a lazy eye or cross eyed. While I was an an outing with my kids, they rummaged through our stuff in the room, stole some stuff, like a phone charging cable & a hair brush. When I asked to have it added to a room, customer report, she all of a sudden found our stolen stuff. The place was very dirty, but we were unable to obtain a room elsewhere.

No working microwave. I notified front desk and was told there were no extras and they could not give me one from an empty room. Dirty. Facial hair from shaving on bathroom sink, the outside bottom of toilet was rusted and crusted. Food on floor in a few places and floors were dirty and sticky.

Woman at check in was rude, Wi-Fi only works near office, I was in back of the motel. My son was extremely bored. Key stopped working and had to get replaced. Once in the room, it wasn’t clean. There were watermarks on the nightstands. I checked in on Thursday and I wasn’t able to get any more towels. Housekeeping was NEVER available!! There was poo wiped on the stairwell. Horrible all around!!

I have one problem with Motel 6. Motel 6 advertises free internet. The mast few times i stayed at motel 6, the internet eas fown.

They tried to charge me a smoking fee when everybody smokes in their room there and they actually joke with people about smoking with their room there I heard it firsthand and I was still charge smoking fee because they didn’t like me Because I asked them for clean stuff and clean towels and I asked them to do their job and they thought I was being disrespectful. Never got to stay because they gave my paid downstairs room away out from under me!!! When I got there I was told that someone on earlier shift gave my rm away. When I SD that I just called & spk to them to confirm it the lady SD yes I spk to you on the phone but she told me everything was confirmed UNTIL I GOT THERE after a 7 1/2 hrs drive.! Then it was a different story & this was for 6 nights wrkn in the area. Then I also find out the elevator was broken & I can't do stairs bc awaiting BK surgery & this was all put in the initial reservation info. Pd for accessible rm. Found out a Swt Tea Festival was going on over wkend so I guess they made more money by selling me out. Thank goodness for hotels.com bc they got on the phone & helped me to relocate to a much better place bc everywhere I called was filled up. Had to stay further away, but they were awesome in taking care of matters for me! I highly recommend & praise them !!!

Overall the roaches is what really upset me the most. I had to double check all my stuff to make sure none came with me. Very sure the smell is due to the roaches aswell. All the other complaints I had are minor but im also not that picky.

Could not get any sleep too noisy. Residents of hotel playing car music loudly until 2 o'clock in the morning because office closes at 11. I do not recommend this hotel if you want to get some sleep.

No resolution was offered. They got their money and that is all they cared about. A crude remodel was done that was poorly done and incomplete. There was a table and no chair(s). They didnt have a room for me. Parking lot empty

Not at all what we were expecting with it being called a Suite. Elevator actually rather scary as it grumbled and squeaked all the way. Chipped paint, divits in concrete hallways, stale smelling ac air, dark parking lot. Not sure if the area was safe to be in at night, very uncomfortable place to be. Won't be returning, that's for sure.

This hotel is currently under renovation but the rooms were amazing and clean. The hotel is in walking distance to many restaurants and a Walmart and located right off the interstate. The only thing we didn’t enjoy were the renovations crews working so early so you couldn’t relax during the day if you wanted too. But other than it was nice stay.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and efficient. There was a shopping mall directly across the street from us along with a variety of dining options. I would definitely stay here again.

The room is fine....clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is a little run down. Sidewalks had wet cement in many places my first night. The elevator is dirty and smelly. The lobby is unattractive and the desk staff is slow and a bit aloof. Fortunately, im cto visit with a terminally ill friend, so im satisfied with thecroom as a place to sleep.

The sheets did not look clean at all. Having clean linens should be a priority.

Didn't end up staying there because they called and said that they it wasn't having staff available for our check-in called Expedia and took care of them very very disappointing

Octavia was the most unfriendly head of house I’ve ever encountered. I was not greeted by a grunt. The next day I had no internet connection. Went to the desk to inquire about the situation. She responded with you have an HP? Well, that’s way it’s not working, clear your cookies.I walked out and went to Hardee’s to use their connection. When I returned another guest was working on their device, so I inquired. He told me I had to sign out and then back in every day. But, watch out there’s a puddle of dog pee in front of your door. I then went back to see Octavia but decided there was no use. There were two other people who were the best! Demond and Quan. They were friendly, helpful, competent, knew the area and surrounding neighborhoods. They always said hello, inquired if everything was ok, asked if I had any special plans. They even had suggestions on different routes to take to get to wherever I needed to be. I enjoyed them very much.

Couldn't find the booking. We slept in a room with no lock or key.

I stayed at the Motel 6 with my husband and two dogs, for two nights, for leisure. I had a good experience right from the beginning, the front desk was amazing and made us feel at home right away. The room was clean and comfortable. The motel is undergoing renovations, but their elevator was operating well, so we felt no limitations. The TV was a problem. It did not work through our entire stay. We did not care because we used my laptop anyway, but it could be something to ask in advance, and ensure the TV is up and running. We liked the motel, the way we were treated, the quality of the room, and the location.

It was horrible.... dirty carpet look like not vacuum in couple days from dog hair . the beds was flat woke up with back acks.. there was no toilet paper holder had to put on floor in the bathroom

The staff was the best part of the stay. The whole property seemed to be in a state of disrepair. Flat surfaces were sticky, carpet wss stained and sticky. Trash in the tub drain. The stay was so bad I left a day early. It was worth losing a hundred dollars to not staay another night.

I checked in late (11:43PM) after traveling for 4 hours. I entered the room and it was filthy. The air conditioning was filled with debris- how would anyone want to breathe this in! I wouldn’t let my dog sleep here. I went to get food and drink, so I could search for another hotel. I came back to the office around 2:30 and I was told I could only be refunded for my next night’s stay. I slept in my truck. I should have been smarter already aware of the 2 star rating.

The price was the best part but the property needs to be refurbished. It would not be my first choice again. But it was not terrible the people were nice and helpful. The owners need to make it more appealing. I would stay there again if i was short on money there are a lot worse places.

Over all the stay was adequate for our needs at the time. Facilities are run down and in need of repairs though. Area seemed to be pretty quite. Lots of fadded paint, rotten hand rail on outside balcony. All of the furniture was worn with one chair having obvious damage from a cat. There was also trash left on the floor in our room.

Without a doubt the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. It is old, run down and not cleaned properly. Worst of all, it is damp and mouldy. I stayed one night and had to find a better hotel. My towels were unwashed from the previous guest. I would strongly advise against staying here. There are much better options close by.

Went across road and got last room in a much better hotel across the road and paid almost twice as much in total as for our pre-booked room in the EconoLodge but this was our second night on the road from far north and we were not prepared to shop around. We were well past cancellation and refund time so it appears as though we have paid twice to spend the night. It is only now I have further researched this hotel and for the past several years, reviews overwhelmingly call it a dump on all fronts. We did not have the courage to experience it on the inside as these other brave souls did.

Worst hotel ive stayed at. Upon checkin, the air in the lobby was musty because clearly the ac was out. There were boxes of stuff that had to be put away cluttering the entrance. When I was given my room, I immediately saw a questionable looking woman sitting outside her room by an overflowing trash can. When walking up the stairs, two shady looking guys were huddled on the stairs obstructing the way and clearly smoking illicit substances. When I got into my room… let’s just say for $100 I expected something less…. Questionable. Needless to say, I left asap and will definitely will not be back let alone recommend.

The So Called Continental Breakfast Was A Joke With Having Only Cereal, Coffee And Blueberry Muffins That's It. I Feel I Was Ripped Off At A Cost Of 112 Dollars For That Night At That Dump ! I Will Never Stay At An Econolodge Ever Again !

Office entry door remained locked at all times; had to be "buzzed in". That was the first clue this was not in a good location. It appeared drug dealings were happening in the parking lot at 11 P.M. Outdoor trash cans were overflowing each morning from overnight activities by drivers that came and went. Room phone was inoperative. TV had four bright spotlights from within, distorting picture at all times. Towels were in such deteriorated condition, I would not allow them in my home; large areas of terry cloth worn off. Only drink available at breakfast was regular coffee; no decaf. Juice machine was "out of order." Breakfast consisted of two cold cereals, small pre-packaged muffins and cold pre-toasted bread. We opted to buy breakfast every morning at next door Cracker Barrel.

This was the worst hotel i have ever seen. Someone used the bathroom with out flushing, no tp, smell was horrendous, roaches, holes in the bedding, floor was coming apart.

I've stayed in similar places before but my main issue was that you didn't need the key to open the door. Thankfully, there was 3 locks on it from the inside. If i hadn't been up for over 24 hours, I would of gotten my money back & went somewhere else. I just needed a bed to lay my body because of how tired I was so I made it work.

This hotel is very outdated and run down, the paint was coming off the walls, the fridge leaked water, the mattress was hard and very uncomfortable, the bathroom was not clean as there were stains on the toilet and bathtub, people were outside on the stairs smoking and gambling. This place doesn’t need to be on hotels.com at all

It was so bad that I ate the cost of a pre-paid 2 night stay and re-booked with a different hotel that was near-by. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The price was very affordable. You do get what you pay for. It was definitely not fancy. Everything was very old and definitely needs a make over. It was fairly clean. We never saw any bugs or roaches. The water pressure was the best I have ever had. Again, we paid 70$ a night, we were not expecting the Ritz Carlton!

But this motel for my daughter, there was no lampshade on the lamp. The room was filthy. We had booked it for three nights. We got two nights refunded, but she did not even stay there. They would not refund the other night. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I did not stay there. The place is run down and there was no service when I got there.After driving 4hrs to get there the door was locked. I waited almost two hours and no one came to check me in. I walked in the area looking for another place to stay, came back to the lodge and the door was still locked. I called the property and no one answered, I left a message and left to find me another place to stay. This was the worst experience I have ever had.

The room smelled so bad we couldn't even stay. The light didn't work. The elevator smelled terrible. There's no dining area. Your in a room. People are hanging out outside. It felt like you were in the ghetto.

We checked in and was given a room on the 2nd floor. The room was ok to look at until we started unpacking. The hot water in the bathroom would not turn off. The floors were so dirty we didn't want to walk bare footed. I went dow the next morning, told them they would eithe have to move us or refund my money. They sent us to another room and ir was nice. Clean, just nicer all around. We settled in and watched a movie. Was getting cold in the room so we turned the heat on. No Heat!!. We were heading out to my sisters family gathering after she had passed away. The called someone in to fix the heat. We called them,and yes, we had to move for the 3rd time. The place could use a good paint job. The area it is located is not the best area. My niece asked me if I was packing. Was not a pleasent experience at all. You guys might better check out thes places before adding them to your service.

I couldn’t stay there. The hotel is in terrible conditions. The cleanliness is bad. Outside the hotel people were drinking and smoking. A terrible and shocking experience for my kids and me.
