Staff was super nice and helpful. Bartender was so nice and her drinks WOW. I have family in Suffolk now. I will make THIS my place to stay!

The place was close to where we needed to be, but don't expect to go there again. Our room was clean, but it looked as if it has been used as an animal room with all the dog cratches on the door.

Ants in the room, dog crap all over the place, a boy and a grown man were urinating in the middle of the day at the back door in plain sight. Staff seemed unconcerned. A breakfast that cost was disappointing considering the cost of the room.

My bathroom didn’t work we had to move rooms, they said they couldn’t give me anything back unless Booking.com contacted them. The lights were out in my room. They said they were going to reach out but never did so I was charged full price for a very mediocre stay…

The room was spacious and clean the bed was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. My only complaint is there was no housekeeping, we could not get extra towels or even enough for both of us, for our two day stay, the breakfast & coffee was served later than advertised.

Location Every time I study is dirty, the rooms, the walls, hair bed hair disgusting. Door knob, dirty light that you touch is dirty. Everything is dirty. Don’t they have inspectors to look at the bathrooms to make sure the walls and fixtures as things that we touch are clean the ceilings in the side of showers hair and boogers come on.

N/A There was no soap in the the soap dispenser. Only one remote for two TV’s. Also I asked for new set of towels for second guest and the attendant in the hall way ask me for my room number and never got them. It also took a long time for the water to get warm.

The lobby was a mess. The pool was not open but was advertised and the reason I selected the hotel. I learned that it was closed. I wanted my last day cancelled and refunded. The lady at the front said I would be refunded but never was.

Location and cleanliness. We were not immediately greeted by staff when we came to the hotel. And the initial staff member appeared to have a disposition. She did her job but it was not with the courteous smile I’m used to at the Hilton. However, every other staff was pleasant and charming.

Vending machines were removed throughout hotel after first night so water bottles couldn’t be purchased. The last night they finally offered water for purchase. Been staying at Hilton properties for many years but probably not anymore.

Large lobby area. Plenty of seating and lounging areas. Nice outdoor space along with separate smoking oasis. I don’t smoke but it’s nice to see they have a separate smoking covered patio area for them to enjoy. Clean room with suite options. I will be back

Check-in was smooth and hassle free. We left and went exploring and upon returning found an issue with one of our rooms - somehow the bathroom floor was flooded which leaked out into the room. Went down to the main desk to ask for help. Lamar (who checked us in) remembered me on sight and said he was aware of the situation with our room. He quickly got us switched over to a new room with no hassle. The hotel was quite full so I was surprised there was a room available - but he found out while we were away about the issue and held one for us. After this hiccup the rest of the trip was uneventful. We didn't spend much time at the hotel but found it to be what you'd expect from a Hilton Garden Inn - clean and comfortable. The location was nice - a brewery right next door and lots to do in the area. Overall we found the staff to be polite and friendly. We're grateful for Lamar's help and quick action, the trip definitely would have been soured without that. Give that man a raise for excellent customer service.

We were in town for a funeral (3 days) and had 6 rooms booked. Group was mostly 70 years of age and up. We congregated in the lobby for hours at a time. (We were not rowdy and stayed out of the way). The staff was very kind and accommodating. Audrey who ran the kitchen was especially helpful. Had a huge group for breakfast, us and some other family who stopped by, and I know it was difficult to deal with us and all her other customers but she did it like a pro with a smile the whole time. Food was good, beds comfortable and we felt very safe.

Also, Expedia stated check out was 12 pm but house keeping was trying to kick us out at 11:24. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I've had with Expedia. I would not stayhere again.

This place is ghetto. The hot tub is broke and cuts your feet. No one cleans the pool no pool towels no housekeeping. The first room was broken the second room they put me in had a broken window and my kids were in the room. The breakfast sucks and super expensive

I made the reservation w/ my credit card. We brought our pet, so I was walking the dog and my husband went in to let the people at the desk know that we had arrived. The first thing Malcolm did was ask my husband for his identification. Bad idea. This irritated my husband because after he pulled it out, Malcolm said oh no, your wife made the reservation, so she has to come inside and show her id. And it went downhill from there. The best part of the trip was Audrey in the breakfast area, she was amazing, friendly, and one day she was the greeter, and the cook. Food was awesome and Audrey could not have done more for us. She deserves a GOLD Star !!! Both elevator floors were in very bad shape and cruddy dirty. When I walked into the room I opened the room to the bathroom and there were no towels. There were no bags at the Dog station outside which was fine for me, I always have mine on hand but that may have explained why the dog area was littered with poop. Pitiful. I liked the soap and gel dispensers in the shower, they were great. Sad that you got rid of a lot of niceties. No longer had plastic bag in closet that you used to have for laundry. Trash can was very very tiny and divided in 1/2 for recycle. You could not fit 6 cans in the entire basket. Hilton takes on new meaning now for me. I guess when you add "Garden Inn" it means "Hilton-not-so-much"

Surrounding guests were very loud into the late hours. The bathroom sink required maintenance upon arrival. The host at check-in was short and cold, just enough to get me checked in. The same person was overly pleasant at checkout. The Hilton app did not work at all for this trip.

Surrounding guests were very loud into the late hours. The bathroom sink required maintenance upon arrival. The host at check-in was short and cold, just enough to get me checked in. The same person was overly pleasant at checkout. The Hilton app did not work at all for this trip.

Later, I went to the desk and told Jan that we did not have such a sign. Our stay was average, We rented a suite with separate bedroom, & the living room area was weird, huge room with no furniture except for a small pullout couch small TV & small chair with ottoman in the corner of the room, very strange set-up. The bartender Jen was awesome & friendly. The front desk was very unhelpful when we called down & needed extra pillows & blankets. They hung up on us. Overall it was average.

Was not able to check in at 3 as promised. Did not receive digital key until 6 hours later. Checkin clerk was rude. Reserved a room with two queen beds, received a room with two full beds, clerk claimed that it was a mistake on the website and they could not fix it and would do nothing about it. Woke up in the morning to a roach in the floor. Bathroom ventilation did not work leaving a layer of steam on everything in there. Sink was clogged so that tons of someone else's debris came out of the pipes when I turned on the water. The most I was offered as compensation was movement to another identical room where hopefully the bathroom would work. Next day, new room, sink works. Toilet overflows. Call down to front desk for help. Am informed that no one can do anything, but I can come get a plunger they have on hand. Had to clean up the mess myself. Toilet clogged two more times after that. No Housekeeping service for 3 days. Had to ask for clean towels. Eventually checked out 1 day early.

The hotel was under renovation, so I did not expect a great experience. And mostly the hotel was good except for 2 things . A strong sewer smell in the bathrooms and towels that were not clean. I did go get Lysol spray from the front desk and after several minutes of spraying the odor was bearable. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel seemed generally clean. Hopefully after the renovation is finished, the hotel will be up to par with other Hilton properties. Hilton hotels are usually great places to stay.

It was a nice hotel, and the staff was great. Only thing was they were doing renovations in the lobby area so it was dusty. I would say, in a few days they should be done. I am looking forward to going back, and staying again.

Need to be better organized to handle check in. It was a long wait after traveling for hours looking forward to rest. Check in is supposed to be at 3pm. The wait was close to an hour as they stated that the room was not yet ready…

I actually stayed at this particular Hilton several times when I have came to Suffolk, Va. Staff has always been polite and attentive, however I wish there was a better policy in place for a general cleaning of the room? Unlike the many Hotels I have stayed the Hilton doesn’t provide a daily cleaning service which is an inconvenience when I return to my room, however the Hilton Front Desk employee did offer me new towels but that offer came by request. As a guest I believe a policy of introduction should be put in place that explains to ALL guests what to expect, I feel it’s unfair for a guest to find out that their request has been denied without being informed prior? In addition I have been very generous with my tips to the Hotel Maids but how would a guests know where to leave a tip if there is no information provided concerning Maid Tipping?

I liked that the property was in a nice location. I didn't like they did not have free breakfast, pool was disgusting, cobwebs in room, i requested joint rooms but ended up on 2 different floors, and it was a roach in the bathroom.

The check in staff was amazing and courteous, as was the manager however the cleaning staff were beyond rude. We didnt ask for housekeeping because we had our dog with us however we received nothing but dirty looks every single time we would go to use the elevator. Half of the outlets in our room were non-functioning which was inconvenient and the outdoor area could use a good clean. Cigarette butts everywhere as well as trash. We ended up leaving a day early, not the hotels fault but we had a group of children running up and down the halls which caused our dog to bark and harass our neighbors. Overall 5/10 experience.

When I checked in I was given a little card which stated no maid service. If I needed towels to go to the front desk and if I needed my garbage emptied, to let them know a day ahead. Then the television wasn’t working. First they said it was because of the cable, then the maintenance man came up the next day and did something but was still lagging. Glad I was only there for a few days. I like the Hiltons but was very disappointed with this one. And I did call corporate, never heard back from them.

I wasn’t happy because the rooms were not kept up. Fixtures were loose. Shower heads in both bathrooms were shaking away from wall Sink fixture loose. Stained ceiling and exhaust fan stained badly which were very unsightly. Exhaust fans on fifth floor and second did not work at all. Ottoman on fifth floor was stained terribly I was very disappointed in the Hilton brand
