The room was decent, clean when we arrived, and felt like it was recently updated. I do think everything was spaced too far apart though. I couldn’t even reach the night stand while laying/sitting in bed. Parking could be done better, but I understand they are limited on space and are trying to use as much as possible. You’ll either be parking in a front space, which could possibly get blocked in by someone else. Or you’ll be the car blocking someone in, and if they can’t get you to move for that person you will be charged for “double parking”. Very close to Universal Studios, which was the reason for our stay.

    2) the WiFi is garbage and desperately needs to be improved asap. On top of that for some reason our regular cell data did not work well in the building either. 3) we were only given: - decaffeinated coffee in the room - 3 bath towels and 1 wash cloth when we had 4 people registered staying in the room - existing stains on the bed sheets - we pressed the button to alert we wanted our room attended to that day, but nobody came The take away from this is the housekeeping doesn’t pay attention to detail and is a bit lazy 4) the hallway is super hot - why not leave it at a comfortable temperature to walk through? But the AC works well in the room. All in all, it’s a ok place to sleep with a comfy bed and lots of pillows.

The room was clean, but a really bad mold, mildew odor, air conditioner not cold enough, and outlets very loose that we could not charge our cellphones. For the price, not even a continental breakfast. I needed a handicap parking and only 2 available and 1 taken by employee without a placard. I WILL NOT STAY THERE AGAIN.

However the room's air conditioning did not work properly. Even when set to 60F, the room never got cold and we were sweating throughout the night. In addition, TV was not working during our stay. If the hotel can address the air conditioning problem, it would be a much better place to stay.

The room itself was average. It appeared somewhat dated and in need of updating, and the lighting throughout the room—particularly in the bathroom—was inadequate. We stayed for three nights, and on the morning of our third day, the elevator was out of service. Since we were on the second floor, using the stairs was not an issue for us personally. However, I was concerned about how guests with mobility limitations or other accessibility needs would have managed. The lobby is relatively small, but the adjacent seating and bar area is inviting and provides a more comfortable space to relax. There is also a small market available for convenience, though the prices were quite high. One thoughtful touch was the complimentary drink vouchers provided for the bar during happy hour. Unfortunately, we were visiting Universal Studios and returned after the 7:00 p.m. cutoff each evening, so we were unable to use them. Nevertheless, it was a nice gesture and appreciated. Overall, while there were some positives, the construction noise, outdated room condition, and elevator outage impacted our experience. I would rate this hotel a 6/10.

I loved the hotel…very nice!! The $37/night for parking was out of control!! No free breakfast or anything but a couple free drinks at the bar would have been great if we drank. Staff was very kind and helpful!!

1st of all I would like to say that paying 175.00 for parking is ridiculous. 2nd of all the pool was filthy and not maintained. The room was not ready when we arrived at around 3:10 pm and we had to be issued another room and still had to wait when we were given the room key to a new room. The room was nice and clean however, the toilet and sink both got clogged around day 2 of our stay. wifi signal was poor. overall I would not go back nor recommend this hotel.

Let’s get the good out the way. Staffs amazing. Beyond friendly. Room was large with the double king set up. Location to universal is great. 5 min walk to the shuttle, then up the hill to universal. Staff said, why pay for parking twice. Price seemed ok, but it will lead Into the bad. The bad. I know they claim to be a work in process but there are a few items that just broke it for me. The king bed mattresses were damaged. I about rolled off the bed every night. It must have been the cheapest mattress available and it outlived its life by months considering the number of people it probably sees. The pillows were just bags of feathers. Extremely uncomfortable. Lastly, the utmost deal breaker was the bathroom. Shower worked fine but the exhaust vents must have been for show. Literally everything in the bathroom was soaked by the time I got out of the shower (under 10 min). You can look at the walls and see water damage that’s been repainted so they knew this was an ongoing issue. The paper thin shower curtain that was 3” too short allowed water to drench the entire bathroom floor. Since 4 people were using it, this because quite an issue resolved by barricading multiple sets of towels. For a few more bucks and possibly a longer walk I could have found somewhere else. Again, extremely polite and maybe this will all be addressed after the remodel but I won’t be back any time soon.

The room was dirty, there was a bug in the room. There were no shower door between the toliet and shower. The hard wood floor was wet walking in. The extra charge for water and coffee is ridiculous . Parking was $34 and water and coffee was $21, so another $55 a day to the charges I paid already. Chairs and shovels all over the place. Paper and tape all over the lights. The bed was uncomfortable. Air conditioning was on and off. The staff memes weee really rude. Overall, would not ever return. I want to request for a refund.

Rooms were ok, nothing spectacular. Rooms or spacious but outdated. We got excited that our room had a screen door to a patio, but the patio looked like it was completely rundown with Chairs completely broken up and it was not useful. It actually made us feel unsafe having that screen door there when you rather just have a wall.

The hotel seems old, the pool was awful (toe nails everywhere- even in the first room) and apparently they were remodeling which we didn’t know until after booking it. I think hotel.com should warn people of any working being down PRIOR to booking! The staff was nice and they gave us 2 complementary drinks but that wasn’t enough. We were placed on the third floor were the internet didn’t work, the air wasn’t working and the patio door was torn like someone tried to break in. They moved us to another room after we called twice to get an update.

The hotel was not clean. The sheets had stains on them from the previous guest. The parking garage is very small with a large parking fee. You are required to leave your keys at the desk depending on where you park due to double parking. The hotel price is deceptive as they charge an extra service fee that is buried in the description of the hotel listing. I would avoid this one in the future.

Very disappointed with my stay at BLVD Hotel & Studios. There were hairs on the sheets, a spider crawling on the pillows, mold in the bathroom, a roach by the door and the sink would not drain. The property itself is undergoing renovations so I’m sure a lot of the improvements I had hoped to see on my stay will be better when I return, the room was clean for the most part except the tv had not worked and had damage inside-dots on screen, check in-was easy but I wish the surprise surcharges were disclosed (housekeeping, amenities and parking) the staff was very respectful, the area itself is great for universal but the food in the area… not so great.

    - Location is 10 minutes walking distance from Universal City Walk - Free cocktail upon check-in - The bartender in the lobby is incredibly skilled and fascinating to talk to The Bad: - Everything was cheap (doors, soap/shampoo/conditioner, furniture, ect…) - Only had cable - Half the outlets didn’t work - The door didn’t close fully unless you slammed it shut - Beds were the most uncomfortable beds I’ve been in - You pay an extra $300 at check-in for a 4 night stay for “Parking and fees” - Elevator buttons randomly did not work (kept turning off after being pressed several times) - The pool is in a corner of the parking garage in uncomfortable lighting, and is not heated - The “gym” is 3 cardio machines and nothing else, not even weights

Our door’s security latch was broken and the room phone didn’t work so it didn’t exactly feel like the most secure room. Also, the parking kinda sucks with you having to either trap your car behind another car or give the front desk your car key so they can pull your car out to free others. So that didn’t feel super safe either. But besides that, it was a perfect hotel

This hotel was very dirty. I walked up and saw a homeless person urinating outside. I went in and saw a man paying a woman, looked to be prostitution. Women dresses scandalously. We walked into our room and it reeked of bleach. The shower did not work and the sheets were stained and absolutely disgusting. I traveled alone with two children. One having extreme asthma and would be inhaling bleach all night. It was so bad I checked out immediately. It was dirty and unsafe. The staff or hotels.com would not give me a refund. I am very upset with this whole situation.

The shower setup was a bit confusing. While there are instructions, it still took some trial and error to figure out the temperature and pressure, and the water seemed to come from both the ceiling and handheld shower at the same time, sometimes at different temperatures. The sink was quite high, which might be uncomfortable for some guests. I also had trouble getting the TV to turn on, even after pressing the power button multiple times. Overall, the hotel has a good foundation, but it could benefit from some updates and improvements. The decor and scent throughout the hotel were also a bit unusual and may not appeal to everyone.

There was a bit of mildew smell when we entered which you can right away tell is from zero ventilation in the bathroom. We opened the window/balcony and that cleared out within an hour or so. Our only concerns were for the infrastructure/amenities. The shower has a nice rainshower feature, but unfortunately, it doesnt turn all the way off, so you HAD to get your hair wet if you wanted to rinse off. There was also a desk lamp that kept shorting in the corner, and the water pressure for the toilet was so low you would have to flush 3-4 times. The PTAC air unit on the wall was also definitely from the late 80s/90s. It did function well, but was quite loud and an eyesore. We stayed 2 nights. On our first morning, the elevator broke (no one inside). The front desk person was on the phone with repairmen immediately and it was fixed within 10 minutes. Again, the staff was wonderful. I stayed at this hotel 5 years ago as part of a group for a wedding and had a lovely time. I didnt remember this property being so aged. The amenities have definitely declined since so Im hoping to see them reinvest. The staff and cleanliness were great, but the aged feel of the hotel made it one of my least favorite stays in LA of recent years. Im eager to see this one turn around because I do love the convenient location.

The property isn't flashy or fancy but it isn't it does what the price point indicates, gives you and affordable place to stay within walking distance to a tram that takes you to Universal Studios. The area isn't the greatest but I mean so is every other hotel in the area with the exception of the two on the park property. Felt safe, Vehicle is in covered parking for a decent price and the staff was the best part, friendly attentive and responsive. I would definitely stay here again on any future trips to the area. The staff was great, check in was great, room was clean. However, the room condition was terrible. The outlets were in inconvenient locations and very loose, charging blocks kept slipping out. The nightstand between the two beds was too small, making it so far away from each bed that neither of us were able to reach it without getting out of bed. As soon as we arrived, after using the toilet one time, it clogged. I called the front desk and they sent up a plunger that we had to use more than once. The shower was confusing. There was a showerhead on the ceiling and a handheld shower head. Switching between the two was very difficult and even if you were using the handheld, the ceiling head still dripped. The shower curtain was one of those cloth ones and the step into the shower was so low that water on the bathroom floor after a shower was inevitable. The wifi was terrible. It kept buffering or just kept disconnecting or the signal was poor. Parking was kind of weird. It is stacked parking. If you parked behind someone you had to leave the keys at the desk or get towed if you blocked someone and don't answer the hotel's call. I could not find an ice machine, and if there was one, I didn't see any signs posted anywhere. Overall I would not stay here again. Maybe if you're in a pinch or maybe for just a night it might be okay, but for the 5 days we were here, it was very uncomfortable for us.

There was one little bottle of shampoo, no conditioner. One hand towel, one rag, and two bath towels only. Hair dryer smelled like fire. All the doors were coming off their hinges. Pillows were lumpy. Felt safe and definitely not the worst hotel I’ve been at. The rooms were big which is nice but even so there was so much noise from other rooms it was hard to sleep.

The hotel looks like it was recently flipped with new paint and a "modern" look. But they missed the details like a sink that leaks water and looks old, a bathtub and drain that looks really old, and table lamps that have seen better days. I had to hold the handle down on the toilet for a while to get it to flush and the water took a few minutes to heat up. All-in-all this place is adequate to stay in so you can go to Universal Studios the next day. Period.

This is a great hotel if you are visiting universal! It is clearly an old building that they are updating but the updates seem to be intentional and well done. The bathrooms are clean, updated and spacious! (Like family of four can brush teeth together, spacious). The beds were comfortable. The building is pretty loud but keeping the fan on helped- if you’re traveling with littles bring a sound machine and you’ll be fine. It’s about 10(likely less) to the universal shuttle that takes you to the park entrance.

The biggest PO was that their spring garage is set up for cars to park nose to tail and you leave your key in at the sell desk in case someone's out. I dot. Want someone goof into my car thank you... an on top of that they charge $38 for parking in their lot and then they charge you $21 to administer that... so $59 to park in a messed up parking garage. What a sh!t show. The doors don't close without putting a shoulder into them encasi Hurley slapped more paint on them instead of doing it right .the flooring in the room is the cheap industrial plastic laminate ... I would never ever stay there again. Ever

Two people I want to say thank you - First the bartender (sorry I forgot the name) He made sure my cocktails taste perfect. Second, the guy at the recpetion on night duty of Dec 20. We already checked out in the morning but left luggage to be collected at night before we head to our amtrack trip. This trip got delayed for 2 hours! It was 12 midnight and we asked if we can stay while we wait for our departure time. He was the kindest, most accommodating person, he let us stay in the lobby and made sure we were comfortable. I hope somehow you read this. Thank you for your help.

The pool is non existent. It was the reason we went... my 10 year old wanted to swim for her birthday. Its not a pool... its a broken hot tub. The room was spacious and looked very nice. And the distance to Universal Studios for the budget was great. The downside… we saw 3 roaches. I am hoping and going to chalk it up as this may be due to the current renovation. I understand the area is older. Hopefully some pest control and sealing off the newly installed tile and bare boards can help the issue. I’d absolutely give the hotel another shot if this issue was addressed.

The bar was stocked, the room was clean and the coffee bar was adequate, but when I tried to plug in my phone charger to the lamps or wall outlets it wouldn't fit. It was too loose and my wall plug wouldn't stay in the outlet. I had to use my USB charger instead and this made phone charging very slow and inconvenient. Otherwise our stay was great, the staff was courteous and the car tender was funny and easy to talk to.

Everything was great. Nancy(the manager) went above and beyond to make this stay wonderful for me, my wife and our daughter. Housekeeping was also wonderful as our room and the hotel was pretty spotless! The shuttle for Universal was within walking distance, a less than ten minute walk. And they still warn us that if we want them to clean, we have to say it "well,I said no," they might even charge us for that. The hotel looks like it used to be a Motel 6; it even has orange doors like Motel 6s, and they just disguised the lobby to make it look luxurious. They also have double parking and warn you to leave them the key or they'll call a tow truck. I wouldn't go back, I wouldn't recommend it,

The room at first look was nice, but the Ac didn’t feel cool at all so the night time was a struggle. The pillows were tiny, the shower was kind of confusing to use at first, the way the toilet flushes is weird it’s takes awhile and you really have to hold the lever down, also circling back to the Ac the cover for it fell off during the night which added to the frustration but For the most part the staff was nice it’s just those little things that do stand out.

The room was disappointing. It was rather large but had no couch were there was clearly a space for one. The fridge kept tilting and was not cold. The faucet head had a dirty ring around the base and was not properly attached to the sink! It kept popping up when you turned the water on. The elevator was broken, fine no problem, but at least offer to help with bags so parents with kids don’t have to make multiple trips up the stairs with their kids. The pools was an absolute joke. It’s actually a cold hot tub in the parking garage that you have to get the front office staff to unlock for you. There is no shuttle to Universal Studios. You have to walk to the park itself….past the smell of urine, dirty poopy toilet paper on the sidewalk, men passed out in the park and heavy street traffic. Then the Universal shuttle on the park property takes you up the hill to the entrance.

Unfortunately, this trip was for my daughter's birthday going to Universal Studios so the location was a 15-minute walking distance to the shuttle. No need to pay for parking so that's a plus. However there were a few issues starting with the elevator was out of service on arrival. Having to take up luggage up the stairwell to the 3rd floor with younger children. The room initially looked good however, there was hair behind the sink from either previous guest or cleaning staff. The hotel did mention was going under renovation so some of the areas were to be expected. It then rained and started leaking through the room. Had to place a trash can underneath to catch the rain which left a huge water mess in the kitchen area that spread to most of the floor. Having an electric vehicle and expecting to use the EV charge the hotel provides wasn't operational, the pool was very small in an open area and not well maintained nor heated. Outside of the location in relation to Universal Studios was a fairly disappointing stay.

The beds were super comfortable & the rooms were huge & clean. The location was also perfect walking distance to Universal Studios Hollywood The check in is in a very noisy entrance making it hard to hear the staff. The property is poorly maintained. Upon checking in I was told the elevators were broken and had to use the stairs. No help was offered with our bags. The room was sparse and clean. The mattress and pillows could be replaced. Not enough towels were provided and the staff was polite but hesitant to provide more. The shower faucet seemed previously repaired but worked. The AC fan was so loud it made getting to sleep difficult and woke me when it cycled on. Parking was awkward with most spots requiring blocking in another car. Keys were to be left at the front desk else your car would be towed. The one EV charger present did not work and the other spots had only wires. The hotel charges a daily fee to provide financial support to the staff. Shouldn’t this be the responsibility of the employer? It seems they are too busy chasing profits.

Where to begin? Immediately after booking, I received an email that there were some renovations going on. They would do their best to make sure it didn’t impact us and thanks for our consideration. As we booked this day before, we figured we’d try it and see what it looked like. Here’s what that meant: no working elevator, and there’s no porter so carry your bags. Also, the room did not have working heat or AC. They brought in a portable AC unit which barely kept it at about 76°, so it was better simply to open the door and let the outside air come in at night. Since they had a space heater sitting there as well, it appears they’re not going to have heat anytime soon for the coming winter. The staff was fine, the bar was fine, the website said nothing about parking, which is convenient and covered and on property. It is walking distance to Universal, the Baked Potato, and several restaurants. But, at nearly $400 a night, it was overpriced for the value I received.

Our room had a kitchen, but it was completely empty—no dishes, cookware, or tableware. We had to request everything and then wait for it to arrive. We chose this hotel mainly for the location (close to Universal) and the option to cook, but the area itself isn’t great. Still, if you’re going to Universal Studios, you save quite a bit by staying here.

However, they charged an addition $58.00 after I had already paid $329.00. 35.00 was for parking and $23.00 was for miscellaneous. I have never experienced this high of a parking fee, and I have never paid extra money for miscellaneous items. There was water in the room but we didn't drink it because there may have been an additional charge added to my room. It seemed like they were trying to get people to buy alcohol from their bar which may count for the extra fees, but I don't drink alcohol.

This hotel location is very convenient. The condition depends on the room you are getting, if it has been partially renovated or not. We had a few issues. Our shower handle did not work so we couldn’t get any hot water, we asked the front desk to have maintenance take a look while we were at the park and came back to a working shower. The coffee machine inside the room was broken. The coffee machine in the little shop downstairs, to purchase coffee, was horrible. It didn’t work and the drinks were not right, save your money there. If you drive, you do have to pay to park and it’s pretty expensive. The hotel room was pretty dang clean and didn’t have any issues there. It’s a great location and a good place to stay if you want a deal where it feels safe, it’s clean and a good place to crash when being at Universal all day.

The view was nice. The size of the room was good. It wasn’t noisy so definitely a plus. When we first arrived we were given a room on the 2nd floor that was dark, smelled of smoke, the TV was small and wouldn't connect to the WiFi and the plugs were loose. The window also faced a wall. We were switched to another room on the 3rd floor. The plumbing wasn’t good. The bathroom sink would fill and take an extremely long time to drain so we weren’t able to use it. The toilet pressure was awful so that made for an uncomfortable stay. There was hair found in the bedding and chair. The comforter was ripped and worn. The WiFi wouldn’t stay connected so we had to use our personal hot spot for the stay. The power sockets were loose and wouldn’t properly work with our devices or even the room iron. The bed side clock didn’t work. The room phone didn’t work so I had to use my personal phone to call the front desk.

The hotel itself was clean and close to what we came out to do. The room was a great size and seemed updated. Came with a fridge and microwave and places to sit. The only thing that made us not give 5 stars is the beds. They were very hard and not very comfortable at all.

It was pretty great! I would recommend and I would stay there again. I was there for multiple days and I noticed that house keeping didn’t proactively come in to remake beds, thought that was strange. I left a sweater there a but over all it really was awesome.

Arriving there the staff was Not very welcoming, Not very social. I got a two queen bed suit and didn't have the 2 TVs That it said it would have. The water in the indoor pool was very cool, my son couldn't even get in to injoy him self. The Is couch in the room was dirty, Stain, broken and Itchy. The only good thing about my stay there was the bar lounge, the bartender "G" great guy. Very good customer service and friendly. Other than that the BLVD hotel needs a lot of improvement.

The location could not be better to go to Universal but that’s really the only thing that was amazing about this hotel. The shower was wonky and I had to have the desk attendant show me how to use it. There is no breakfast which is tricky when going to universal all day. The staff were super friendly though and it worked!

Leak in the hallway, they do not tell you it’s under renovation until after you pay, outlets do not work phone doesn’t work so when I had an issue I had to go downstairs, area is very unsafe. Incredibly overpriced and will never stay here again.

The outside look nice but the rooms are durty looking and ugly. I was on the second floor and the people that were on the top of us were so noisy early in the morning weren't even able to sleep in. Also having to pay for parking at a hotel that u are paying for is horrible. I payed 2 day parking when i first got there, and they wanted to recharge me for the 2 day parking. Will never stay there again. Messed up my birthday vacay

It was close to Universal Studios We were placed on the side of the highway it was very noisy and there was a light outside that shone bright into our room. I had to wear ear plugs and a mask to get some sleep, never in my life in a hotel I’ve had to do this.

The room has 3 ceiling lights broken and the bathroom light was flickering like a strobe for 2 minutes every time we turned it on. Room was clean mostly but we had centipedes run around. Shower water pressure was great.

The condition of this property keeps getting worse and worse every time I stay there. The outlets inside the room frequently don’t work or are shorting out. The showers have very little water pressure and the knobs are falling off. What makes it even more frustrating is the prices of the rooms and the price for parking keeps going up significantly. So we’re paying more money for a worse experience.

I liked the location close to Universal Studios, about 5 min to the parking lot. The neighborhood is a little sketchy I was afraid to walk around. The room we were in had a horrible moldy-vinegary smell that really didn't go away until we turned the heater on to mask it. I walked around in slippers because the floors were sticky in places. I did like that there was cardio equipment for a quick workout. I liked that there was a bar although I didn't order any drinks. The shower was clean and had good water pressure. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner and soap because the ones they offer were not good. I don't think it was worth the $200/night price tag.

Hotel is honestly in the perfect place for a quick visit to Universal. A short walk to a free shuttle. And tons of walkable eats nearby. Staff was pretty nice as well. Cons are the freezing cold pool located in the garage, most outlets in the rooms don’t work, no housekeeping (even though they ask when you’d like your room cleaned) and very outdated ac units in the rooms.

Our room wasn’t made up once during our stay rubbish stayed in room for 3 days had to ask for towels. We had two sets of headphones go missing from our room and when I emailed I never received a response at all. Microwave, coffee machine didn’t work at all.

It was a comfortable stay. I'm not rushing back to BLVD for a rebooking, but I wouldn't dismiss them either. The building just lacked any new renovations and appeared outdated, but cleanliness was maintained. Staff was very friendly and attentive and assisted with a lost item. If it was not for the lack of renovation that was in my opinion, overdue, this would have been a perfectly affordable and wonderful stay.

Staff was friendly, but room wasn't great. Bed wasn't very comfortable. The biggest bummer was that they advertised an indoor pool and the the pool was not usable. It was across the parking lot in a weird location, not maintained and not heated. The water was so cold, you couldn't get in the pool.
