Reviews
The hotel is praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, there are several complaints about hidden fees, poor restaurant service, and maintenance issues in the rooms.

- Hidden fees
- Poor restaurant service

When we arrived, the hot water was out, and we only had lukewarm for the next two days. The restaurant took forever to get an order, then there were no condiments nor sugar for tea and coffee. While we were there, people were stuck on elevators, while staff did nothing. One of our visiting group, a retired firefighter, got the fire department involved to rescue those trapped. I had stayed there once before, several years ago, and they lost power to elevators. Moved out of upper rooms with no light at midnight in our formals and heels after our event. Wouldn't recommend this property in spite of its beautiful location!!

Other than that we did have a great time .

The resort rooms were never cleaned, dirty laundry in the halls, air conditioners and refrigerators would cut off randomly. Ruined food and the room was hot. The service was horrible and the prices were ridiculous. The pool was very dirty. The front desk staff was rude and all the staff kept saying it was because they were recently bought out. The resort has potential but has a long way to go.
- 2/5
The disappointment started as soon as I checked in. There were three employees around the desk but none of them willing to help me. One was also cussing on the phone to somebody else on the property. When I finally was helped the person was very rude and it was a bad first impression. The rooms were clean but even with the thermostat set to 65 it was about 80° in the room. It was hard to sleep because we were absolutely miserable and we weren't the only ones. Spoke with numerous people who were on the elevator and they all had the same problem. The hallways were cold but the rooms were hot.
- 2/5
Room was clean but air conditioning didn’t work. Very long walk from parking lot to room. Additional hidden charges to room added at checkin.
- 2/5
Freezing cold showers, amenities missing from the rooms, no room phones, only 2 restaurants with the same exact menu. To be as full as it is it was understaffed and someone also got stuck in the elevator for over an hour. Last night there was an entire party next door screaming until 5:30 in the morning and though we called they did nothing about it.

Would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the park. Friendly, helpful staff and a clean outstanding hotel in a beautiful park setting. Highly recommend!

I booked a room overlooking the lake – everything was fine, but I was told that the TVs in the rooms didn’t have internet access, and there was no one to explain what facilities the hotel did or didn’t have. The restaurant had a very limited menu. They took me to Stone Mountain Park but didn’t pick me up from there, so I had to pay for a Lyft to get back. So, I’d rate the experience 5 out of 10.

Apparently Stone Mountain Park recently has undergone new management, so there has not been enough time to fix some of the issues they are dealing with. The personnel were over-the-top helpful, despite odd things like the 3rd floor button not working in one of the elevators (which was the floor we were staying on so we had to wait for another elevator OR walk the stairs). We saw the big Evergreen Hiking Trail sign yet when we went out to walk the trail, it was inadequately marked or very short (we ended up in a parking lot). However, our room was comfortable and clean, and we were grateful for this.
- 3/5
Only one elevator out of three worked. The pool bar was never open. The bathroom shower door would not stay on the track. Only gave us two towels and when we asked for more took several hours to get them. Smelled weed while on the balcony and in the hallways.
- 3/5
Not as well kept as it was under Marriot and staff was not attentive (lazy).

They really need to have someone come in there and change the carpet throughout the property and clean and sanitize each room. Replace the beds and bedding and clean like they are cleaning their own homes.

The Property is in a Beautiful Location, and The Staff are Amazingly Friendly. The rooms were rundown. Stained, smelly carpets, broken light fixtures, worn down furniture, and broken balcony doors, having to move rooms 2 times.
- 2/5
The experience was not what we expected. We got there and try to eat and they said the all you can eat was open for us, so we came back to eat and then they said all the food was gone and it just open at 5pm we got there 530pm, the staff told us we can grub hub or go to the downstairs lounge and eat but we wanted a formal dinner and the next day we got setup for the boat trip and it was canceled. The staff never help us to get better food that night, it felt like o well you paid to get burger and fries dinner. I was exhausted of the disappointment. The breakfast was cold, french toast under cook the gravey for the biscuits was cold. It was not a good experience.

The property is absolutely beautiful. Our room was amazing and very clean. The front desk was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again (in the same room 401).

Annie Belle & Simone provided a wonderful experience on the lake tour, though times were incorrect. Two thumbs up. The omelette was very good. Excellent location for the Park’s activities. Lounge was closed, missed the light fare option. Our patio wasn’t swept, spiders were on the patio and in the room. Some of the outdoor common areas weren’t cleaned. Parking lot trash can overflowed

Great location for Stone Mountain park. Service from entry to departure was terrible. Staff seemed to have little or no interest in their guests. Variety on offer in market and coffee dock was very poor with no one apparently caring. No assistance with luggage. We checked out a day early - male receptionist didn't even care or ask why? I asked to speak with a duty Manager. This was not possible. Totally unacceptable for a Marriott hotel. Avoid this hotel.

I booked the trip for my elderly mother. The Evergreen is the perfect place for seniors to be comfortable and safe.

Great hotel. Clean and quiet. Great views right from the hotel room. Staff were wonderful. Surrounded by nature. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the the surrounding environment. We only stayed for four days which didn't give us enough time to explore and exploit what the place has to offer. Definitely back to this hotel when I'm in Atlanta and area next time.

The hotel was fine but it did not seem to all the way match the online presence. We had a Lake view which was beautiful but the balcony was very dirty, the chairs looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in awhile & the food was just okay.

Upon our arrival the staff was courteous and professional during the However, shortly after selling into our room, we experienced ongoing issues with the internet and Wi-Fi connection. We reported the problem immediately and werw told it would be addressed the foloiwing morning but no one arrivef or followed up . After contacting the front desk again. and were advised that the outage was related to weather conditions. Once the weather improved, we contacted the staff again and were then informed that our side of the building and floor experienced intermittent service. And because our room was located at the end of the hallway, we had no connection at all unfortunately this information was not disclose to us until the third day of our stay, that evening pproximately 10 PM , we were offered the option to change rooms. However, by that time doing so would have caused significant inconvenience and we were uncertain whether the same issue would persist in another room. Additionally, the housekeeping service was also disappointing. We repeatedly had to request clean towels. On one occasioj used were removrtb without replacements provided . Later that evening, when we contacted the front desk we were told that housekepping were no longer available and that we would need to pick up towels from the front desk. Overall, our stay fell below expectations. While the property advertises itself as a resort, the quality of service and accommodations did not re

First, the front desk staff, Tiffany, Drea, was excellent. We arrived at 4:15 PM. To check in but the room was not ready. We waited until 5:45 PM and the was Suite 384. We unpacked, turned on the TV and found out the Internet was not working in the room. Called the front desk. Tiffany answered and stated she needed to move us to another room 362. She offered to help us move as well as she checked the Internet in the room before she moved us. Again, Tiffany customer service is and was excellent. We came for Labor Day to watch the fireworks and wanted to stay overnight since I live almost an hour away by the time we were settled in the second suite it was 8pm. We were trying to get ready to see the light show and fireworks hadn’t eaten yet. We were late to the fireworks, but did see some. Went to rest that night. The bed was extremely low, made for a very uncomfortable sleep, I had asked for a late checkout, but because I did not rest well at all, we checked out by 11 AM. For a one night stay that I was hoping was gonna be memorable. It was very uncomfortable and tiring. Please get more housekeeping so when it’s time to check in by 4 PM guest can. Also, please adjust those beds. They are horrible. The suite and 362 was large, but had a whole wall of empty space. There was nothing there and you could have added some privacy as large as the suite was from the living area to the bedroom area. Also, the Jacuzzi inside was very cold and it appeared that it had not be

Cleanliness. The staff was excellent. Nice, large parking lot. I didn’t mind the $20 parking fee charged at the entrance to Stone Mountain Park. Beautiful views from throughout the park. Nice safe location near Atlanta. Resort fee. Just because the word resort is in the name, the company gets to add an $85 resort fee. There were no resort amenities. One small normal hotel pool. Only one restaurant with very limited menu was open on Memorial Day weekend.

Hotel is poorly run at this time. June 1 will be under new management. Restaurant in hotel had limited menu for memorial day weekend, and had a ton of fruit flies, and the food wasnt that good. One of the lamps didnt work in our room. Air conditioner in our room hardly worked. Set to 65 during the night, but actual temp was 78. We heard from people staying there, who have stayed before, that it used to be a great Hotel and that the current owners just let it go and didnt care much anymore. Hopefully it will get more love and attention with new owners, this Hotel has a lot of potential. Our room had lake view which was really nice. Nice big pool, just needs more attention.

Floor had visable dirt, crumbs, patio had spider webs, very dirty, The Marriott sold it to another company - in transition to change to another company! My mother’s day staycation was missing my back massage, clean. Room, the jacuzzi was nasty. It was just an experience that Could have been better!

Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The hotel is nice but dated and could definately benefit from a "refresh". Don't know if it was just because it was early in the season when I stayed ((mid May) but not much maintenance seemed to be happening (towels at the pool not restocked, pool bar not open for business, lots of cobwebs, etc...) The pool was nice on Saturday but by Sunday did not look like it had been cleaned at all. And the hot tub... ugh! I'm hoping it was just stained and not really as dirty as it appeared. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my long weekend at the resort but I do feel it was a bit too pricey for the level of maintenance and services available.

My stay was good other than housekeeping not wanting to do their jobs and clean my room. Even when they were sent to do it. She told me she only cleans every three days and when I asked her to make the beds she repeated in an accent, no we only make them every three days. Eventually after going back and forth she made them and gave me fresh towels and took the trash. Everything else during my stay was excellent! The front desk staff was great and all the amenities were nice!

The Tavern had very limited menu items, and Waterside was so understaffed we never got to eat there. limited/almost no on-site food options, Elevators stopped working during stay so one elevator for the entire hotel

Beautiful setting !!! Quiet. Restaurant times limited, buffet only….usually semi warm food. Advertise a bar and restaurant…..Very limited times. Never mentioned no housekeepers would be around. No water replacement, no towel replacement. Questions at the front check in desk were answered differently by different staff…..no real answers.

Hotel lobby was nice, the room was okay. Front desk staff who checked us in wasn’t very friendly or helpful with information. The elevator had missing buttons. We tried to eat dinner at the tavern and there was one girl working the entire place. We sat for an hour and a half before we even got food which wasn’t what we ordered. I ordered a salad which finally arrived at the end but I had snacked on fries so by the time it arrived I didn’t even want it. Almost every employee was rude, especially when I tried to check in, the girl working the front desk was not helpful at all. The only positive was the Starbucks girl who was extremely helpful. It was so crowded which I guess is typical at Christmas. We could barely find parking to hike the mountain. We had to pop the curb and park in the grass. If you are looking for a quiet back to nature spot, this is NOT it. It is very touristy.

The shuttle driver was great, very informative about the park and attractions. The restaurant was the worst part of the visit. I had prepaid for the full breakfast and will not do so next time. First I was charged almost 3 times the amount of my breakfast total to prepay. It started badly when the hostess completely ignored my party and spoke to the group behind us in line first. The man in the group had to tell her we had been waiting first and they didn't want to skip us in line. The server never asked how I wanted my eggs, just brought them scrambled, even though the menu said sunny side up and I wanted them sunny side up. The breakfast meats seems to be microwaved not grilled, baked or fried. The food was luke warm except the second plate she brought out with the correct eggs. She did not even tell me that the second plate was being made. I had assumed she forgot, since she also forgot the refills on drinks. 20 minutes went by and we were waiting for the check and togo boxes when she looked over and requested another server grab our refills loud enough for us to hear from across the room. She never returned to our table. The second server had to help us to the end of service.

Tue overall stay was fine. The concierge during check in was alright. When he was explaining incedentals hold it seemed like they are different and based on the guest. The bed could have been more comfortable as well as the linen. The cover was so thin. The restaurant charged $62 for a small piece of underwhelming salmon. Whatever was used to bread and fry it should never be done again. The onion rings were extremly soggy -order containers with ventilation. The cheesecake was good. I was told 10-15 minutes but it was more like 45 minutes. It's not my first time staying here so I was expecting a similar experience. The site and scenery is good, however I would definitely have to go off site to eat.

They gave us a room that was not cleaned. There is a real disconnect between the front desk and house keeping. There is not enough staff in the food areas. We ate lunch in the main dining room. I saw two waiters. Lunch took an hour for a club sandwich and soup for two people.

Rooms needs a lot of updating. Moldy curtains, broken doors spiderwebs. Need more staff or cleaning purposes. Front desk was all right, but not very forthcoming on information. Pools were really bad.

Front desk handled security issue well with loud room next door at 12am. Extra comforter provided. Get your passes at check in as we did not and paid anyway at SM and got the free wristband too late. The trails by the lake are amazing. The dining room hostess was confused and too slow but kitchen was good. Salmon recommended.

The location was great and room was very clean. Check in was very easy. The only issue was that our room did not have hot water so we were unable to take showers before checking out, but we did not have time to address the issue with staff because we were close to check out.

Rooms were outdated. Adjoining room had tv that didn’t work. No trash can except in bathroom. Indoor pool had huge pieces of plaster coming off the bottom. Restaurants were barely staffed. Was charged nearly $200 more per room than what Expedia quoted and man at the desk could only say he didn’t know why.

The room was clean. It was visible that the hotel is an older hotel. The balcony area needs some serious TLC. We would like to have sit out there but it didn’t seem clean or nice. Chairs were old. Staff were extra friendly. The upstairs dining area seemed slow and rarely did anyone complete courtesy checks. Both times we were ready to leave and it took an extended amount of time to receive our bill and for them to follow up to get it. It could’ve been the culture of the place. No one was in a hurry to do anything whatsoever. They were polite and the food was good. Elevators definitely need updating. Lobby area was really nice. The most disappointing factor was the TV not being a smart TV and channels were extremely limited. Don’t expect to relax in your room and have a movie night. There’s no Netflix or any streaming service available and the internet was extremely poor. Channels that were available did not have anything good on. Overall, it wasn’t bad. It was different. We did enjoy thinking and enjoyed the pumpkin festival. Am I glad we stayed? Yes but a few improvements can’t hurt.

Staff was mostly very nice. Facilities were nice. The buffet in the Tavern was pretty bad and not work the price. Also adding an automatic tip for servers takes away all incentive for them to be nice or helpful.

First, the location is a nightmare. The hotel sits inside a park that charges a $5 entry fee. That means rideshare drivers (Uber/Lyft) will not pick you up or deliver food because they would have to pay to enter. It’s not as simple as handing them $5—the park makes them pay at the gate, and in my case, they even threatened to call the cops on my Uber driver who was just trying to take me back to the airport. On top of that, the gates close at midnight, so you’re literally trapped inside after a certain time. The hotel itself is in terrible condition. Elevators are outdated with buttons falling off the walls, the pool was disgusting, and the bartender didn’t even know how to make basic drinks. The staff was hit or miss—some were nice, but others were extremely rude. The on-site restaurants were bland and tasteless. The only positive was that my room itself was nice. However, the balcony was dirty and clearly not maintained, which took away from the experience. This place is more of a headache than a getaway. Between being stranded without rideshare, the run-down facilities, and the terrible dining options, I would never recommend Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort to anyone.

Was a very nice resort but they gave me 2 queen beds instead of the king i requested because traveling with grandchildren, i was told rollaways available. Queens were double at best, made sleeping hard. Balcony was dirty, yes in the woods, but still should be clean, and balcony door did not lock. Pool area dirty, not kept up and no outside bar during 3 days of stay, they said because of storms, but not fair. They told me an inside bar, but locked each time I tried.I would definitely stay here again, if going to Stone Mountain because for a resort and in the middle of the woods was great.

I had been to this property before approx 8 yrs ago and was excited to come back. I was disappointed and embarrassed in the condition with the outdoors area maintenance, rusty fences and the “nature walk” overgrown. Pool area wo any nice lawn scape/ flowers nothing- shrubs and dirt. Restaurants w limited foods and one was closed for remodel. Room was clean but shower door kept opening and results in a mess in the bathroom floor. Location is nice but isolated so I wish the hotel would provide more to offer.

I was pleasantly surprised with this property based on the review ratings on some sites. Most of the room and lobby/hall areas have been updated. That being said, there were missing knobs in the elevators, older toilet seats and tubs, and ceiling paint issues (ina couple of areas). Also, there was no bar or restaurant open in the middle of the day. Other than that, the room was really nice and peaceful. The bed and pillows were super comfy. I will return soon and plan to tell family and friends about this hidden gem. There was a complimentary boat tour at 11. If you can, do it; it was informative and pleasant (took about 45 min.). Shout out to the captain! This place also had a nice outdoor pool and hot tub with more than enough chairs and tables. Don't let the reviews scare you. I loved this place!!!

Property okay. Staff can't explain all the double charges at checkout. lodging completely paid off before entering hotel. Will check and see if there is any fraud going on. Have a $170.00 charge with unknown company added when making original reservation.

This hotel is very beautiful. The staff was so friendly and helpful especially Garry!! The activities and attractions are close by. You have to pay 20.00 just to park at the hotel. Everything you touch will cost money. Restaurants and shopping 15 to 30 min drive. A major flaw were the elevators were down. The ones working were very slow. There is a Starbucks and indoor restaurant. House keeping doesn't come everyday unless requested. Clean indoor outdoor pools. Hiking and much more. 85 day fee is added on to your trip and refunded at the end of the trip. They don't tell you that. They also don't tell you that you can get a wristband in the hotel and get discounts on your activities. I had a regular room, queen size, bed, bath and two beds. I suggest getting pool or River front scenery. It is very overpriced but if you are able to get discounts it's worth the stay.

The property location is great if you want to visit Stone Mountain and enjoy a few days relaxing. We were expecting a little more from the property though such as dining options. The main dining room was the only dining option available while we were there. Our room was very clean, and we enjoyed the pool.

- 5/5
Mostly as was very nice but they are limited to what they offer while our stay. But overall it was nice .
- 3/5
The resort was to expensive and there were hidden resort fees i had to pay at check out.
- 5/5
***Only thing they need to fix is the elevators! There are 4 of them but only one was working the whole stay. And that one was dangerous, someone tried to hop in before the door closed all the way and his shoe got caught in the elevator, while another man was trying to pry the door open. The doors do not pop back open as they should. Thank God he got his foot out. Needless to say my kids were terrified after seeing that and we used the stairs the remainder of the stay.
- 1/5
Where to start. The first night i got to my room late and saw a roach the size of my thumb crawling on my bed. Had to chase it around the room to kill it and the joker was fast. Didn't really out a a fuss because its the south and I'm from Mississippi so i do remember seeing roaches that big, but to pay 120 a night they need to do better pest control. The next day no-one came to services my room so i went to the first desk yo figure out whats going. I also mentioned the roach and it didn't even phase her. She told me they clean the rooms every other day, but for 120 a night I think my room should be services everyday. She asked me what I need and I told her towels ans tissue, buy she expected me to take them to my room myself. Again why am I paying 120 a night. Not only that they didn't clean my room until 1pm the following day. I wont be back here every again. Also it was only 1 working elevator
- 1/5
We had to switch rooms because the bed bad stains on it along with little block spots also the door had white stuff all over it. We then switch rooms, the refrigerator didn’t work the was mold in the bathroom and ceiling. Also the bed again had spots on it. Also the restaurants weren’t open when they were supposed to. Then at checkout I had to laugh $130 some dollars for a resort fee. When I prepaid for my stay makes no sense.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay! Check-in was fast, the lady at the front desk was very helpful. Our room was nice and clean. The waterside restaurant was fantastic. Small menu, but the food was delicious and the service was great! No complaints! We will definitely stay here again!

This was my 2 need time here. I love the amenities, the pool, whirlpool, gym, distance to the mountain, the walking trail, and the food at the bar and grill.
- 4/5
It was just ok
- 4/5
We loved our 3rd stay here for our staycation. Alecia (sp?) is amazing at the front desk! King, helpful and just all around the person you want to have at the desk. We have nothing but great things to say and can't wait to get back. Only gave 4 ONLY because the restaurant made the tavern back up pretty bad and the waitresses were so kind and felt like they were harassed more than they should have been. BUT, we will certainly be back!
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful! My only complaint is that housekeeping tried to come into our room while we were asleep. We have until 11am to checkout, therefore housekeeping should not be trying to walk into our room at 10am.
- 5/5
Really nice hotel. Roomy. Quiet. Up to date. Nice pool area and good onsite breakfast. Conveniently located in Stone Mountain Park
- 5/5
Great location if you love to be around water and hike.

This was a beautiful stay for my birthday! The staff was wonderful. I have no complaints. The rooms were clean and Captain crunch from the boat ride rocked out! I will be returning as soon as possible. All the young ladies from the front desk, helped me with pictures to catch your moments and save memories.
- 5/5
Love the room and location. The property itself needs some TLC…the pool area, the pool. Also, more food options would be nice near the pool area.
- 2/5
I was charged extra overnight after checking in. The staff told me there was a glitch in the system and I have to wait 7 days to receive my money back. I couldn’t pay for my massage that I scheduled prior. I will not be returning.

For the price the rooms could use an upgrade spefically to the bathrooms you also have to pay $20 to get in and then when you arrive you have to pay an incidental hold deposit plus a resort fee that they keep from the deposit and the elevators are very slow only one elevator was working the other two was out of order the one elevator that was working is small and buttons were missing
- 3/5
Beautiful place
- 3/5
The efficiency and professionalism of the front desk staff were truly commendable. However, there are some areas that could be improved upon, such as the room readiness. Unfortunately, there was a lack of hand soap in the bathroom, and we did not receive turn-down service or fresh towels.
- 5/5
Loved our stay-- wonderful staff and service. The on site dining was underwhelming in terms of options and flavor. When considering the cost and we opted to go off site to dine at other restaurants for a better culinary experience. The rooms were comfortable and cozy, although streaming options in room were limited, which in this era is behind what other resorts and hotels offer.
- 3/5
AC wasn’t working in our room and when we asked the front desk if we could switch rooms or if someone could come fix it they said “we’ll come take a look in a second.” No one ever came. Elevators are missing buttons and are pretty slow. And non of the restaurants were open in the hotel because of a buyout. That would’ve been nice to know. Should be on the website. And when we checked in there was an 80 dollar hold that they said we would get all of it back, when we checked out they told us they keep 40 bucks of that. I’m pretty disappointed all things considered. You spend $200 to get a nice hotel and you expect a nice hotel.

Room was warm, refrigerator never cooled, shower was lukewarm, never hot. These are not conditions I would have expected at a “resort”.
