    When this discrepancy was queried with ES Sonesta, they provided a nightly rate breakdown with room rates that differed significantly to the individual nightly rate that Expedia also provides. Despite providing evidence of the amount from the saved Trip details available in Expedia and attaching my bank statement showing the amount ES Sonesta have charged, I am yet to hear from ES Sonesta have no faith or confidence that they will respond. To add further insult, ES Sonesta have charged on top of the overpaid amount which they have withdrawn from my account an additional amount for parking. Reading the reviews by customers on other review sites provides very similar feedback to the unprofessional and below standard experience I have encountered myself. The generic or ChatGPT responses provided by ES Sonesta are of an apologetic nature, yet nil action will eventuate from customers that have had a poor experience. My warning to all who may be considering ES Sonesta San Fran Airport Oyster Bay, is to steer clear and look elsewhere. Romeo

    Day time staff friendly, helpful. Guy at night, not so much. *Easy access from airport and to main highways *Spacious room in good condition. *Property set next to nice water front w/ nice walking path. *A few business park restaurants and a Starbucks a short drive away. Cons: *Had ants near kitchen sink and still had them after maintenance team intervened. *Breakfast was poor w/ fake scrambled eggs and few good options: coffee was good. *cleaning only once a week, so constantly having to ask front desk for things - garbage can liners, towels, better pillows (which they don’t have). *Just under $17 a day for parking. Ridiculous.

    What I liked most about the property was the beautiful waterfront view. We booked a Bay Queen View room, and the view was definitely the highlight of our stay. I also appreciated that breakfast was included and that the breakfast hours extended until 10:00 a.m., which was much more convenient than many hotels that end breakfast earlier. Another feature I enjoyed was the bayfront walking path just steps from the hotel, making it easy to take a relaxing walk and enjoy the scenery. What I didn’t like about the property was that the room had a noticeable odor upon arrival. It wasn’t overwhelming, but it had a somewhat musty or funky smell that affected the overall comfort of the room. The beds were also not very comfortable. We were able to make it work for our stay, but the mattress and bedding could be improved. Overall, these issues did not ruin the trip, but they did impact our experience.

    Not bad for a cheaper place. Kids in the pool were hella rude and it was bunch of kids. We love family places and kids and are very go with the flow but the kids there that day were super rude and making rude comments at us. While the adult with them just sat glued to their phone. We complained to the desk but they didn’t do anything about it just said sorry. I’m assuming family with one of the staff members.

    Went there for my birthday and I have tattoos. I’m actually a personal trainer. My best friend took me there for my birthday South San Francisco and they treated us like crap. After reading the reviews. I thought it was gonna be such an awesome place but the people at the front desk treated me like garbage. We wanted to leave the first day, but we couldn’t find anything in the area and spent all of our money for a room there worst experience ever with the front desk, older guy. We kept calling to see if we could get some towels we were there for a week a lady tried to charge us. It was nuts so we were only allowed to have towels one time. They wouldn’t refill our toilet paper. The lady at the front desk kept trying to charge us for everything. We thought you get clean towels and extra rolls of toilet paper when you stay that long it was awful. I’ve never been treated so bad in my life at a Motel/hotel. I’d rather go to a Motel six and ever step foot in that place again if you have tattoos turn around and walk off, they will treat you like garbage. We almost wanted to find out who the boss was so we could leave early and get reimbursed. I wish I had camera footage of how they treated us. I felt like I was a homeless person just trying to get a free room and trust me. I’m far from homeless have a great job. I’m a great human being and never again will I ever go there . Super sad embarrassing and we both just could not believe it . You want treated like crap go there

    location was very nice. 4 of the 6 staff members we encountered were really nice and cordial. 1 front desk receptionist was AWESOME and the other borderline rude and dismissive. detailed cleanliness of the room. I must say that I arrived early and they rushed to get me in early. With that said in terms of detailed cleanliness. things like the lamps, TV’s very dusty. Also sink and tub drains were rusty and the corners of the floors were not very clean and the dishes still had lipstick stains. I didn’t realize (my fault for not reading) that on a six day stay there is no housekeeping. With that understanding, Inwould recommend that they put brooms and dustpans in the closet for guests to tidy up small spills.

    What I like about this place are the spacious rooms and the view of the water. I have been coming to this place for about 4 years. It had always been a good place to stay. My last visit was not pleasant. The staff was rude and I felt I couldn't approach them. They are usually nice and pleasant but not this time around. Its a shame that my last stay was not a good experience. I was there a little early for my check in but was told to wait until check in time due to my room not being ready, which was fine but once I got into my room we found hair in the sofa and clothes in the drawer. We were not expecting that. Since we had already been waiting for 2 hours for check in we decided to just deal with it and not approach the front desk.

    For being the 3rd time we’ve stayed at this property in the past few years, all booked through Expedia, it is sad to see the neglect and poor management of the public facing hotel areas as well as a front desk staff that is unprofessional and not very well trained, to handle a busy check in/out scenery. There were exit and hall lights dangling from the hallway ceilings (poor facilities management) and there was a ladder blocking the 4th floor staircase to access the roof for at least 48 hours…again, signage of poor facilities management. Not sure I will return to this property again in the future. Definitely seeing a first hand decrease in value when these types of issues arise. Also, overall housekeeping inside the suite was below average. We were informed at check in that there was no daily housekeeping service…never mentioned or shown on Expedia when I booked the room. Not cool….not a good experience for 4 days, 3 nights stay. Overall, not a good Expedia experience that I have become used to experiencing.

    Really impressed with this hotel. It’s way nicer than other options close to the airport. We had a two bedroom suite for our family and it was amazing to have the full kitchen/living room in addition to two full bathrooms. The rooms were clean (no lingering bleach/cleaning product/detergent fragrance anywhere). Not too much airport noise. We stayed just the night before our early morning flight and the shuttle service was so convenient — driver was SO kind and helpful as well.

    The breakfast was also a major letdown. The food quality was very poor, and the eggs did not seem real or freshly prepared, they were clearly from a bag which made the experience even more disappointing. Asked for maintenance to come to the room due to television not working properly. I was told they would come at a certain time no one ever showed. Have to pay for daily parking. Overall, I expected much better for the price and was dissatisfied with both the cleanliness and the quality of amenities. I would not choose to stay here again.

    Our room was dirty. Dog hair, dog flee, dog toy. Obviously it wasnt cleaned. I told the front desk they sent someone to vaccum like what. They couldve given us a better room. I have allergy and that triggered until now im asick. My husband had surgery and we booked the mobility access room but the chair for the showering is keep falling while he showers. I told the lady in the front the next day that i messaged them but she said message the third party so you can get a compensation until now no fair resolution

    Wonderful hotel the staff was absolutely wonderful and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again. Highly recommended. It’s a little more pricey, but the views the grounds everything is beautiful.     Breakfast was from 6-9am and they ran out of most food by 8am. Front staff was not helpful, overcharged me by $109. Pushed the button to confirm total on card machine w/out letting me read it. Charged $16 per day for parking and saw only 1 other car w/a parking tag. Asked several other guests and they did not pay to park. Jacuzzi was filthy. Water was discolored and thick scum all around sides. Would not step foot in there unless I wanted to get sick. Pool was supposedly heated but freezing. Only saw 1 teen boy get in the entire stay. Big party place for teens/early 20’s. Loud music and lots of smoking of many things. This was not at all the quality I expected for the price I paid.

    The staff person that was in charge of the breakfast buffet made a lot of people feel uncomfortable as soon as you walked up to the juice machine, she comes running out standing next to you as soon as you go over there with the eggs and sausage she runs over there and stands next to you with her arms folded, staring at you and watching you that is very uncomfortable other than the staff lady the buffet staff lady everything else was perfect all the rest of the staff was very kind front desk. Staff very kind the staff throughout the building very kind just one person that was not kind and made us feel very uncomfortable and that again was the lady that was in charge of the buffet.

    Wont stay here again. Staff was abrupt & short. Made me feel like I was bothering them when I asked questions. I phoned the front desk twice from my room but no answer. Shuttle driver was rude & difficult going back to the airport. He asked where to drop us off. We said international to Canada, terminal 2 for Air Canada airlines. He said he didn't know Air Canada. Isn't this part of his job? He dropped us off at the wrong terminal. He also refused to help me lift my bag onto the bus. I am a senior! No tip for him.

    One complaint about the property: the laundry machines are coin operated, but there is no way to get quarters except at the front desk BUT there is no ATM on the property and you are not allowed to use a.card at the front desk to buy quarters. What that means is you have to walk next door to get cash out of the ATM at the next hotel then come back in by quarters from the front desk. It is absurd. There's no atm, there's no quarter machine, there's no nothing in the laundry room. But you're required to use quarters. Hopefully they get this fixed

    Room 134 has a bedbug problem. When we complained, the receptionist said all they could do was waive our parking fee. We were allowed a room change for our last night after we continued noticing bites. We contacted management several times for a more complete resolution, but never received a response. The lack of any apology or acknowledgement was disappointing.

    The Jacuzzi was green and I did not want to risk getting in there I booked a room with a view and it was the parking lot so they had to switch rooms and I got a view with the parking lot I was very unsatisfied because the night we came in it smelled highly of smoke and the fire department was there and it scared me because they relocated us all the way to the top floor I did not want to stay another night so we checked out early. And had to pay for it anyway.

    The 2 bedroom was plenty room for a family of 5. Sufficient space in both bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchenette was well stocked with utensils, dish wear and cooking tools. The dishwasher was easy to use, clean and in good condition. The sofa bed could be more comfortable, either with a better mattress or by adding some type of topper. The ac worked great. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful, especially the housekeeping staff.

    Above my room was an out of control party. It lasted 3 hours late into the night past midnight on evening of Thursday April 2. The hotel staff took hours to shut it down eventually calling the police. This slow response from Hotel staff to close it down cost me hours of sleep and the children who were staying with me. Absolutely a disgrace to take hours to stop an out of control party. I won’t be coming back here.

    I would say the stay 8/10 , only because if you get a room facing the train station it is pretty noisy throughout day and night trains passing from 6 am- 10pm I would say try to book bay view to avoid train noise . Otherwise pretty clean and convenient location 10-15 minutes of retail stores. Also very spacious. Main desk staff top tier customer service . Large park with water view great for jogging or walks.

    However, the room layout was perfect for us- living/kitchen with a bedroom on either side (with private bathroom). I didn’t like not having daily housekeeping, but towels, trash bags were given to us at the front desk upon request. A hot breakfast- eggs, meats, pancakes, etc, was included in price. Very convenient because the location didn’t have nearby restaurants, only large office buildings all around. So overall, nice quite area with a lovely walking trail behind the hotel that overlooks the bay.

    Please, save yourself a trip, do not book here! It was my worst hotel stay so far. First of all there are 2 sonestas next to each other and it is very confusing to know which one it which, unless you know the area. Booked it with the pool being one of the desired amenities. It turned out it is seasonal and it is not toted anywhere on Expedia site. It was supposed to open March 1st, on our last day and they actually never opened it. But it is the least of all the issues here. They claim that property is recently renovated and it is absolutely not true. It is dirty, run down and smelly. There is no desire to accommodate any needs of their guests. Hotel is very understaffed. In our 4 night stay I saw only one housekeeper going around. Beware, they service the rooms only once in SEVEN days!!! Not even Trash pick up! We ended up setting the trash bag by the door to get it picked up, but that there are no spare trash bag to use instead!!!! I asked twice to get towel exchanged and they never did on both days I asked for it. Both sinks in our 2 bedroom suite are not draining, so if you wash your face it will fill up half way and you would have to wait 15-20 min to drain. Same goes for the bathtubs. the toilets barely drain and one of them at the end of the stay would not drain and nearly got overflowing. At the end of the stay they could not even produce any kind of receipt since it was prepaid though Expedia. I hope I don’t see any charges later on on my card. Very dirty, rundown

    It was quiet and away from traffic. I did not get the room I paid for. I didn't enjoy the so called breakfast. And I didn't enjoy the elevators being far away from the room assigned. And I didn't enjoy being surprised that my credit card was being charged a$200 00 hold, as well as being charged for my one day stay which was paid up front. Now, I'm having a hard time trying to called them to ask them to please return my money back to my credit card. I will never ever stay with this company again. It has changed dramatically in five yrs.

    Staff was amazing and the view of the bay was incredible from our room. My only complaints would be that the burners within the kitchen were not working properly and would need to be played with just to find a temperature that would remain active. Lastly, the range hood had a knob missing for its light. Overall we had an amazing stay!

    Everything was very clean and spotless. The staff at front desk were friendly. FYI there are 2 Sonesta Hotels next to each other at this location. We stayed in Sonesta Suites. Suites, of course, means you get a kitchen and more space. We only stayed 2 nights, but the extra space was welcome. This place is perfect for longer stays. It is convenient to SFO, South San Francisco, Colma, Daly City and has convenient access to both 101 and 280.

    I prepaid for the room two days before my arrival. When I arrive, they told me that the room was gonna be ready at 3 o’clock when I arrive.     Although interiors are renovated, the building itself is old. There is not much noiseproofing, you can hear everything (footsteps, tv, talking) going on upstairs. Also there is a loud train passing right behind the hotel every 5 minutes. Make sure you book the bayview rooms to avoid the train noise

    The only complaint with this hotel is that I was unable to lay in the bed and watch TV. The TV was mounted on a side wall and only tilted so far, making it unviewable.     Room 236 was the Worst room I have ever stayed in...it was SO stink...there was evidence of water damage in one of the bathrooms (water stains and moldy looking ceiling) and I don't know if it leaked to the carpets but the room smelt like a STINK WET DOG.... no amount of Fabreez helped... the pots needs changing as they were warped and everything stuck to them - who doesn't use non stick these days, the dishwasher was NOT WASHING THE DISHES CLEAN!!.it's clearly an old and outdated machine.. I had to wash everything by hand after running the dishwasher 2 times...the duvet between the sheets was so dirty looking I really think they need to retire it and the pillows were so FLAT they were almost non existent....the carpet were frayed and smelt so bad...I pointed all these issues out to the staff as we checked out so I pray they rectify these issues. I am sorry but this is surly the last time I will ever stay at a Sonesta.

    The suite was beautiful. 2 bed / 2 bath with a kitchen and livingroom. Plenty of room for the whole family. There was a real fireplace too. A tv in each room ensured entertainment for all. The breakfast was decent, typical self serve - eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, and pancakes. Coffee, juice, milk. The grounds were clean, beautiful scenic trails along the water. This location is slightly out of the way of shopping, gas, groceries - about 5-15 min commute. I enjoyed the shower gel and shampoo, light fragrance and not drying to the skin. I wouldn’t mind using those products in my home. Overall, we would stay here again and recommend others to give them a try.

    Great! Stayed here for an event at the Cow Palace which is a 10 minute Uber ride away. Rooms are spacious with full kitchens. Continental breakfast has plenty of options. Will definitely stay here again for future events.

    The man at the front desk was fabulous! The room was disappointing. In the bathroom, the bath mat was moldy and the towels were too small and worn thin from too much use. There was a black stain on the bedroom curtains. It was too expensive to have those problems

    We made our reservation for three people and the sofa bed was very dirty with a lot of crumbs and debris in it when we opened it up and there was no pillow for the sofa bed. Also, there was water on the carpet. The young lady who checked us in and helped us was extremely friendly and helpful and pleasant.

    The staff was reluctant to give any answers, they also charged the wrong card despite multiple times them stating they didn’t. Staff had minimal understanding of most hotel questions. They closed the area where we can buy water and snacks. Without any explanation or alternative to accommodate. When asked for additional towels, we were given extremely small towels. We will not be back. I still never recieved a receipt nor was I given a receipt for my parking

    I would have liked to have received deep cleaning in my room. I was told it was only for those staying 7 days. I however stood 5 days which I normally have has my room cleaned daily if needed at other high rating hotels. Paying for parking was not of my liking.

    got to the hotel a bit early and needed to check in to be able to work and attend business meetings. However, their booking system was down and they were not willing to provide any type of alternative. This is terrible service to not know any type of work around for your computer not working to serve clients in the best way possible. I needed to rebook at another hotel.

    The room had been refurbished at some point pretty recently. I wouldn't say it was to a high standard but you could see work had been done. The kitchen was ok for what I needed. It could have done with some more pots or a non stick frying pan. The bed was so comfy. It was what I needed for the three nights I was there. The staff were out of this world. They were helpful and understanding and I could even get a kettle (for British people this is considered essential). They were all lovely. There is very little right beside the hotel. A ten minute walk takes you to a Starbucks and a couple of small restaurants which close at 8pm. No supermarket nearby so I would consider a car essential for here.

    Had a hard time checking in, the gentleman at the front desk had to run my card three times for the hold fee. In the room there were other peoples hair all over especially in the bathroom, shower, I was disappointed that it wasn’t clean.

    Hotel is right on the Oyster Bay waterfront and has a really nice walking path that is safe and enjoyable. Rooms are big suites and comfortable. Pretty noisy with trains and highway noise much of the night. The pool and hot tub were out of order. Airport Transport - be aware! it's not 24/7 so if you have an early flight you're out of luck. They don't start until 5 a.m. So add the $30 + cost of an Uber to your visit :(. Breakfast is free, but not till after 6. It would be nice if they had 'to go' breakfast bags for early flights.

    The suite was very dirty, it had old toothpicks from prior guests. The stove looked like it had never been cleaned, and one of the pillow sheets had blood on it. I tried calling customer service but both phones in the room meant to call to the office, we out of service and did not work to call the front desk. Only stayed because we had no where else to go but will definitely not be coming back.

    I had a great stay at Sonesta suites. Oyster point is beautiful and a nice peaceful place to come back to after spending time in downtime San Francisco. The Ubers from sonesta suites to San Francisco are around $35-$40- really my only complaint but that has nothing to do with the hotel. Overall a great place to stay.

    I chose this hotel mainly for the advertised free airport shuttle, but it turns out it must be booked in advance by calling the property. As an international traveler with only a data plan, calling wasn’t possible. I sent two messages but never received a reply, so we ended up paying $35 for a taxi. We booked for three (two adults and one child), but when we checked in after midnight, the sofa bed wasn’t made, and we had to do it ourselves. The air conditioning was extremely loud (very old system), so we had to turn it off and spent the night uncomfortably hot. Overall, a disappointing stay — I would not recommend this property.

    I have stayed at this hotel in the past, but this time it seemed like everything was broken or in need of maintenance. Our fridge was leaking, the toilet running everytime we flushed, the bathroom fan was ridiculously loud and the kitchen was poorly furnished with only two forks no pans and two pots. We did call to have the garbage disposal fixed during our stay and they did take care of it in a timely manner, but overall, the room felt like it needed some serious care. The room I was in this time 424 was very noisy with the train outside and the elevator next to it, I was definitely awakened by the noise. I do like the Oyster Point area though, its nice to walk on the path around the inlet.

    We had a good stay. The hotel was located next to the bay with a great walking path. Our suite was nice and clean and looked recently renovated. Our room was directly next to the light rail tracks but it didn’t really bother us much. We arrived on a cold day so the outdoor heated pool was a plus. Pool and hot tub hours are from 10am-9pm. There is an outdoor fire pit as well as games such as cornhole, shuffleboard (but missing the disc) and a tic-tac-toe table. My son enjoyed the pool as well as the games. This is a very kid friendly hotel. Breakfast was good. The hot options on this day was scrambled eggs, crumbled sausage and potatoes. We enjoyed the pancake maker. Downfall is the parking fee of $16. FYI, there is a $250 holding fee. Overall, we had a great stay and will likely stay here again in the future.

    I paid extra for the room with a view which was a good thing because I didn't get to sleep in my room! All night people were stomping on the floor above me. It sounded like i was staying under a service area. I called the front desk and asked them to please stop working its been going on all night! It didnt stop! I called back and told them it had to stop! This is unacceptable! Its now 630 am and I hadnt been to sleep. After the 2nd call things were quiet so im sure they either stopped working or what they were doing! I never went to sleep! It was not worth the money and I will never stay there again! Upon check out I advised the clerk of the issue I had and she offered to put a note in the system so that they can respond quicker the next time I stay! It seems like they really werent concerned about my complaint! I would really like a refund for my stay!
