This resort is absolutely beautiful. The pool remains open 24/7 which is great to beat the heat during the hot season. My only comment would be that the room itself was definitely more 4 stars than 5, but it was very clean and comfortable. I had to wear earplugs though because the vacuum effect the A/C created at the door juncture of the sliding doors made a loud and very high pitch sound that prevented me from falling asleep. Otherwise, great experience.

Very pleasant stay! Excellent concierge service (Paula and her team) and wonderful and courteous service at the local Marketplace coffee shop!

All of the staff was amazing! From check in til check out, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Poolside service was great! We had breakfast each morning at Mowry and Cotton- so delicious! It was our first time coming to this resort and certainly won’t be the last.

clean room, some staff very friendly some offensive. Billing is a disaster. My Expedia prepayment has not shown up yet.

Great amenities! Exceptional staff! They always did their best to accommodate their guests. The grounds are very pretty. We stayed in the casitas and the cleaning crew rarely came to pick up dirty dishes and glasses. We always had to ask for a fresh set of towels. The check-in process was unsatisfactory. After traveling all day, we were greeted by a woman that was quite firm about not letting us have our room until 4 pm sharp. We arrived at 2:50 and my husband had a broken leg with a cast up to his knee and needed to rest. So rather than making a suggestion as to a place to sit while we waited, she quickly dismissed us and our luggage. A member of the bar staff overheard the conversation and was quick to offer their lounge area and gave us a free round of drinks to at least make us feel comfortable for the next hour and ten minutes. First impressions are everything! The hours of food service at various onsite restaurants need to overlap their hours. It was hard to get a light meal or a snack late in the day after swimming, unless you opted for fine dining or room service. Not a big deal but a bit inconvenient.

This was an amazing place to stay. The property is quite large, offering a lot of amenities. Check in was very easy, and the concierge was incredibly helpful to us giving great ideas on activities such and hiking. If you have a chance to get a spa treatment, I'd highly suggest it. Their spa facility is incredible. I definitely look forward to our next trip here.

The property itself is immaculate; modern elegance with a classic touch. The grounds are perfectly maintained, the pools are serene and photo-worthy, and the spa? Absolutely divine. I spent hours unwinding at the rooftop spa pool, and I can honestly say I left floating. But what really made this stay exceptional was the service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful...from valet to concierge to the poolside attendants. They didn’t just meet expectations, they anticipated our needs. One staff member even gave us spot-on recommendations for local restaurants and lounges that ended up being highlights of our trip. This hotel understands the meaning of true hospitality. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just in need of a luxurious escape, The Phoenician will wrap you in comfort, class, and a kind of care that’s hard to put into words. I can't wait to return. Consider this my official love letter to The Phoenician.

This place is fabulous in every way. The spa was top notch. My husband and I each had a facial. The pool area was immaculate and immense. The breakfast was to die for and the cocktails and steakhouse were also very nice. Best part for me as a nature lover was the gorgeous cactus garden. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Good property but questionable for a 5 diamond rating. Paint was worn, wood was water damaged, screen door was discolored and overall the rooms need a fresh modernization. Pool is nice but still needs the same touch if updating. Pool offerings like complimentary sunscreen was extremely limited, which is surprising for a Luxury Collection property.

The hotel was nice but the pool area was very shabby. The furniture was dirty and tables were broken. The water in the pool was buggy and it seemed like the filter wasn't working. I was very disappointed. Also the cactus garden was not well appointed. Not enough flowers or visually appealing areas..underwhelmed.

We had a fantastic stay at the Phoenician. The food and service were excellent! The staff was so friendly and attentive. We had a tough flight getting into Phoenix and the hotel manager was so kind and upgraded our room and comped our parking, which immediately lifted our spirits. Our room was gorgeous and the golf course, spa and fitness center were top notch. We will definitely be back!!

While the beginning of our visit didn’t go as smoothly as hoped—the room wasn’t ready at the 4 PM check-in time, and we ended up waiting over an hour—the staff was courteous and responsive. They apologized for the inconvenience and offered a $150 resort credit. Later, we received a call informing us the room was still not available, but they offered us an upgrade to a spacious casita by the golf course, which was a fantastic solution. From that point on, our stay was wonderful. The kids had a great time at the pool and enjoyed the evening activities. We capped off our nights with family game time playing Nintendo together. The resort itself is stunning, with top-notch amenities and beautifully maintained grounds. Despite the rocky start, the way the staff handled the situation truly stood out. Their professionalism and commitment to guest satisfaction turned our visit into a memorable experience. The Phoenician is an excellent resort, perfect for both getaways and staycations, and we appreciate their efforts to make our anniversary special.

Phoenician is a nice spot, but some of it is nearing the end of its lifecycle. In particular, the casitas are tired. We stayed in a premium casita and it felt really old and tired. The property itself is very decent and has tons of options. Location is great. Food is great. Service is wonderful and attentive. Pools are great - and there’s many of them. All around, a nice spot, but to stay “five star”, they’ll need to get the rooms back up to speed.

Housekeeping was inconsistent although saw them in my hallway each day I was leaving my room in the morning for the day cleaning nearby rooms. Cleaned my room only two of the four days I was there. Last night the woman tried to come clean after 6:30pm in the evening. I said no as at that point I was checking out the next day and made no sense.

The valet, room service and pool were great. Check in was not super friendly, knowledgeable about dining options or overly concerned. The pool chairs need an upgrade, they were dirty, and the Drybar wasnt open. One of the weirdest things was that we had to take our own luggage to our room in a $1000/night hotel and there were stairs and curbs and no ramps.

The pool chairs need an upgrade, they were dirty, and the Drybar wasnt open. One of the weirdest things was that we had to take our own luggage to our room in a $1000/night hotel and there were stairs and curbs and no ramps.
- 3/5
The rooms are outdated including bathroom facilities. Not in keeping with the updated lobby and main facilities . For the price I paid considering it’s 5star plus this was disappointing. The grounds and accessibility to the city is perfect. Try to book spa treatments on a weekday it is at a slightly lower price point. Fitness center and golf facilities great. Resort fee $50 a day . This included tennis pickle ball and some fitness classes but no fees applicable to golf . This also seems like an unexpected surcharge .

staff was very attentive and kind, but very noisy after events and their clean up, do not get a room adjacent to the "east lawn" post clean up for an event went until 4 am, you will not get any sleep

All services are quick and reliable. Whether it is food and drinks at the pool or room service or a request for extra towels , everything is there as quickly as possible. The food is excellent. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner there at least once daily. The food is well seasoned and tasty.

We love the property and have visited over a dozen times. This trip was with my three brothers and wives and we made plans in January. Roughly a week before our visit, I received a call telling me, "a group has reserved the cabanas and we can't fulfill your reservation. We're moving you to the family pool". We made our reservations almost three months in advance and didn't want to be in the family area with children (we have 9 of our own between the four families). I think it's really "bush-league" to move us a week out when we're planning 12 room nights over the three days. We ended up at the Family pool at a discount but this wasn't about the money, it was about respecting your guests (my wife is Titanium level, my brothers and I are also Bonvoy elite levels). As I told the woman who called, in addition to playing golf, dining, reserving the cabanas and so many other things, we spent a lot of money there and would have likely chosen another resort back in January if we were told there weren't any cabanas. Not sure the decision is one that Bonvoy corporate would understand.

The facility is beautiful and the entire staff was extremely helpful and friendly. If you like to hike or walk, it’s very close to the Cholla trial and we walked into Old Town going through the neighborhoods (took about 50 minutes) but is great morning exercise. If you are booking a room for a vacation, spend the extra money and get a reservation in the front building with a valley or pool view. The view from your balcony makes for a great setting for morning coffee or afternoon cocktail especially from 3rd or 4th floor. I think that the Valley view is nicer than the Mountain View unless you are in the back building— then take the Mountain view because the valley view has you first looking directly onto the hotel roof and front building. The food and service at the pool was excellent. The golf course looked very nice. I didn’t play but you can hit balls at the range with high quality rental clubs for $30 which was very reasonable.

Some feedback- better coffee in the rooms; check to make sure everything works when rooms turnover. And make the rooms smell fresh. Also, a Shuttle to and from Old town would be a nice touch, as well. Overall a very nice experience.

The building itself is very nice, the rooms are large, the staff are incredibly kind and friendly and the food was delicious. Would I stay here again with my kids? No, unless there was a way to ensure the kid water activities area was fully functional. Would I stay here again with my partner, or on a friends trip? Yes.

The steak restaurant the fifth floor of the main hotel is one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of dining in. So Pool is expensive and gives you plenty of room to distance yourself while enjoying the water.
- 5/5
A beautiful resort! Very relaxing. The rooms are amazing!
- 5/5
Took the kids and grandkids for a three night trip (ages 2-68). A lot of activities at the resort for Labor Day weekend for the grandkids. Although it was hot, we enjoyed the pools and other special events. Short Uber ride to old town Scottsdale for evening meals. Staff at resort were great.
- 4/5
The service provided by all of the staff from the front desk to the restaurants was excellent. The rooms & pool area are due for an update.
- 5/5
The locations, pools, very spacious rooms Nothing to complain about!
- 4/5
We really loved the hotel for its rooms, amenities, and dining options. The Steakhouse, breakfast in the room and poolside snacks were great. The spa was also exceptional. The only reason we gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is because the front desk charged us $2157 on our 3rd day. When we asked them about it they said that they estimate what they think I would spend on my last day and they will credit me in 3-4 days. We had spent $900 on the spa and food prior to the charge. So they estimated 2.5 times that for my spending. It made no sense and so I gave them a 4 star review instead of 5

Ok property! Well rounded has all the amenities. We went low season so it was too quite.
- 5/5
We spent 5 nights at this property, it’s built in over 200 acres. Golf courses, 3 pools, and one to many restaurants. Over top of that you get excellent service from the staff.
- 5/5
We had the best time at the Phoenician! The staff was very friendly, the food was amazing and the rooms were big and clean.
- 5/5
Second time staying here and it’s truly amazing. Pricey but amazing. 10/10
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Staff members all very nice and service was great. Its quiet and just minutes from Old Scottsdale area. Nice to have the pool open 24 hours. Dining options were nice but we were not aware of one of the restaurants being closed during our stay. We had a great time!
- 4/5
The hotel was really nice and clean. I will definitely recommend it in the future.

Pools are in disrepair. Water slide was closed. Bell service brought our bags to the room only after several calls and 90 minutes of waiting. It’s old and is not the shining star it used to be. One of the pools on the lowest level was cloudy and had an above ground pump continuously running. I would pick another hotel if I return to Scottsdale.

We stayed at a Casita and we understand that it's in the dead of summer. here are the pros: Air conditioning is great kids play area is fun for kids 24-Hour pools beautiful grounds great Internet (kids didn't complain) have cute things for couples or families to do multiple times everyday Abel, a front desk bad ass, gave us the perfect welcome and was a very great dude overall our room has cockroaches, spiders and crickets. I'm not mad at this. it's really hot outside and it's a very wet place. bugs are going to want to go inside. but the thing that grinds my gears here is that there was a big gap under the front door. they make it a big deal to remind you to keep the patio door closed because of pests but the real vulnerability is the front door. We did our best to fill in the Gap but the damage was already done. when we first arrived there was a big cockroach crawling on our pillows. when we called the front desk we didn't want to go through the trouble with switching rooms and just asked for some blood bug spray and sticky traps. The woman on the phone was very nice and wasn't annoyed that I called another time to ask for new pillowcases because I forgot on the first call. The pillowcases arrived pretty fast and the guy informed me that engineering would be coming over to help with some bug spray. they never came. we went and bought some ourselves and got traps. pool amenities: it's really really hot outside during the day. we swam at sunset to avoid 111° death rays. The bummer part about this is that the kids water slide is closed before sunset. and you're no longer able to order anything and have it delivered to the pool. there are currently only eight people swimming. it's not like there's a rush of business. it would have been nice to get a couple smoothies at 8pm. I don't understand how you can order room service 24 hours but you can't get it delivered to the pool (which is closer to the kitchen). I would understand if it's a cleanliness thing, but there are wet towels, beer cans and empty plastic cups swimming across the entire upper floor pool. nobody really apologized for the bugs or followed up with the request for spray or traps.

I am Marriott Premier Gold and have been with Marriott for decades. The Phoenician is an amazing property. However, the air conditioner in my room was quite noisy. More importantly, I paid a $50 daily resort fee. After business hours, my colleagues and I wanted to play Pickleball. Unbeknownst to us, there was no water near the Pickleball courts, and the lights on the courts turn off without notice. We tried to get drinking water at the fitness center, but all the bottles were removed. Obviously water is awfully important when you’re playing competitive sports in the 100 degree plus heat of Phoenix in August. I think the property should consider installing drinking fountains near the tennis and Pickleball courts and giving guests a manual timer option to keep the courts lit. Thank you

How do I begin to rate this property? We travel all over the world and stay in resorts and many different places. The customer service and amazing staff in every department has surpassed everywhere we have been. There are usually one or two hiccups somewhere along the way at resorts, but not here. There are three key people I’d like to mention. Bryce at the front desk, went out of his way to accommodate us, Ky at the Marketplace remembered our names and coffee orders after only meeting us once, Jeffrey at Valet was like family s he drove us to dinner in the golf cart. He scrambled to take us there and was so attentive. The Registration staff, the housekeepers, the staff in general around the property and at the restaurants, the people working poolside, and everyone else were sincerely committed to our happiness while staying here. We are so relaxed from the comfort of our beautiful room. The bed, towels and sheets, water pressure, view and everything were amazing. It is hard to remember the last time we felt this attended to for this many days and nights. The turn down service at night and daily room credit was icing on the cake. Thank you all!! We will definitely be back.

I was expecting much more from this Forbes resort. It was just average for me....the Spa was excellent!
- 4/5
We had to take out all of the drinks out of the fridge to put ours in. When I returned the hotel’s drinks back into the fridge at check out. I went through the list and everything was there. I still got charged for something.

Absolutely fantastic resort. Everything was top notch!

We had an amazing time. The staff was phenomenal. We will definitely be back soon.

Second time at the Phoenician twice this month and love the place. Rooms were nice and spacious. Spa was a good experience. Very large pool area with good service. Valet service was good. This time (mid July 2024) the main restaurant was closed for renovations as well as several of the public restrooms. Additionally, some of the “accessible” rooms located on the first floor have a hallway entry glass doors, these do not have an automatic open button for someone in a wheelchair, not sure it would be considered an ADA compliant opening. It was a bit problematic for my wife getting through those doors in a wheelchair. I notified several employees including the front desk after the first stay, but not sure they have been updated, but we stayed in another area the second stay they were leaving the glass hallway doors open.

Great Resort!

This is the 4th time we've stayed at The Phoenician. I highly recommend it and will continue to stay there. We had a room on the bottom floor this time and it created issue with birds. They would congregate on the patio and leave bird poop everywhere. Due to the heat, it would dry up quickly. We called housekeeping to clean, and they did quickly. However, it quickly became overrun with bird poop despite cleaning. We just gave up and sat at the pool in the evening instead of the patio. I will request a higher floor next time as this issue has never occurred before.

Love it

Unhappy with how the staff handled an early check out on a prepay booking. And honestly, a basic room for what it is billed at
- 5/5
We had a great stay! I would definitely recommend The Phoenician to anyone. We loved it!!

Wish they would keep the slide open later :) but overall, still a great stay!

Great hotel. Pricey but good.
- 5/5
Great facility and close to a lot of other activity in Scottsdale.
- 4/5
Our overall stay was great. The inside of the hotel was beautiful and very easy to get around stuff was kind and helpful. What we didn’t like was the outdoor pool area. The cushions on all of the Paul side chairs were dirty in the pool definitely need to be cleaned better. There was a lot of things floating in the water. It just seemed a little under taken care of, and wasn’t very enjoyable to be out there.:(but other than that we liked our stay!
- 5/5
It was wonderful, really excellent service . I never had a really good time like this also what I loved the most was kids water park omg I'm happy thanks for everything.

Customer service

It is a Grand Resort however there was a problem with the pools, the grounds were a bit in disrepair, there were areas roped off, doorways closed off for repair.
- 4/5
Staff was very slow. Property is beautiful. Pool was dirty
- 1/5
View was of the roof, air condition didn’t work, no plastic bags in garbage cans, no fridgerator for our baby food, etc. Pool was filthy, dirty with hair etc.
- 4/5
It’s a nice place but not great
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Pool service was a bit slow. Walls are thin. Guessing we were in an area where a company event was being held as it was really loud between 1-3am.
- 3/5
For this being a luxury resort, the expected level of service fell flat. I arrived several days before check-in to plan logistics for a planned engagement. Despite tipping everyone I met with and confirming the plans, when I arrived the day before check-in to double-check that all logistics were good to go, I was told that nothing was in the system. I then worked again with new people (tipping them as well) to plan logistics again. When I arrived the next day to check-in, I had to wait almost an hour and a half before my room was ready (despite being told the day before it would be ready upon arrival). When the room was finally ready, the “upgraded room” they claimed to have put us in was nowhere to be found. In short, lots of empty promises were made and little was delivered.
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 5/5
The Phoenician is incredible, we will be certainly returning!
- 5/5
Best experience and everyone was so friendly! We will definitely be back !
- 2/5
The hotel is top but housekeeping is terrible. To find bunch of hair in a shower is disgusting and sheets are ripped. Hotel on top but housekeeping they need to do something about.
- 5/5
Loved the spa and pools!
- 4/5
Large property with many options. Service is slow at the pool and food options are lower quality and overpriced. Central location.
- 5/5
This resort is amazing. I wish we could have stayed longer. We really enjoyed every aspect from the spa to the grounds (including a beautiful rock garden) to the service.
- 4/5
Nice property. Breakfast at Mowry and Cotton excellent. J&G Steakhouse a disappointment. Too loud, too poorly lit and so-so food. Tavern restaurant just OK. Shout out to Jasmine at the Thirsty Camel bar at Todd at Mowry and Cotton.
- 3/5
Nothing special , overpriced, barely 3 pools.
- 1/5
The room was $1800. I will never ever spend a $ at a marriott property, including the Ritz Carlton. Four Seasons and Rosewood properties are so much better and refined.
- 4/5
Room was not cleaned before 6 pm on day 4 Room was cleaned at 5 pm on day 3 when we were resting
- 4/5
Coffee shop and valet service were excellent. Location is gorgeous. Hotel needs a staff sweep as do the rooms if it’s going to remain a 5 star resort.
- 5/5
Javier at front desk made our stay extra special! Great team!
- 5/5
Very nice and well kept property. The staff was very very helpful. The steak house was perfect. The view of the city was incredible. We highly recommend this property.
- 5/5
This property was a gorgeous retreat and perfect for a girls weekend. The staff was always helpful and very sweet. Very close to Old Town Scottsdale - a 5 mins Uber ride! Would def stay here again.
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was clean however it was worn. The flooring was in need of repair. The room paint with the lights on showed they just splashed paint to repaint. The bathtub was hilarious. It’s so small you can’t cover your body fully with water and the shower for a 5 star was very small. Beautiful resort but the room could be much better for this price.
- 5/5
Overall the resort was amazing. The scenery was beautiful and the food and drinks were great.
- 4/5
I definitely expected more from a ‘Luxury Collection Resort’. Not impressed.
- 5/5
Stayed only one night for an event and it was lovely. Team members responded promptly to every request, the room was large and very comfortable.
- 2/5
4 pools and none of the heaters worked. Rude staff at the reception. Cleaning time was amazing and in room dining was amazing!
- 1/5
None of the ten pool heaters worked for 4 days! Our seven month old swam with ten other kids in the hot tub that didn't work and was filthy. I would have rather stayed at the holiday inn.
- 1/5
a Best Western could have supplied an equally sufficient stay for a tenth the price
- 5/5
We had a fantastic stay!
- 4/5
Limited dining options for vegetarian - lack of good Italian or Mexican option onsite. Poolside menu was average as well for vegetarians. Rooms were average. Staff was good and helpful. Did not use/explore: Golf course, Tennis courts, Adult pool area - all of which seemed good from far. Spa and related amenities were good as well.
