The hotel and room were clean and comfortable.

We had an amazing day again. We love it. We plan to be senesta, family members traveling and using your facilities wherever we go. We're extremely happy with everything that you guys did for us, from the staff to check-in, to check out to snacks to breakfast to bartenders, all of the more fantastic everybody, the the house cleaners were amazing. Everything was great

Love that breakfast is included and it is actually a very filling breakfast. Weekends you get bacon as your meat and the rest of the week it’s turkey sausage or chorizo sometimes both. You have a variety of breads and juices to choose from. Happy hour is 5-6 pm everyday, chips, salsa and dip are provided. You get free drinks which include an alcoholic beverage. The staff are all very friendly and helpful!

The breakfast was tasty, the happy hour adequate, and the pool was a delight with music that was not too loud.

This was such a nice stay! I’m local to Scottsdale, and wanted a little staycation after a lot of work travel, so I landed on the Sonesta Gainey Ranch. I stayed 5 nights. I’m so glad I did! This place exceeded my expectations. I work in UNHW travel and this place is on par with hotels that are much more expensive. The room was so nice, and it really was like a little apartment. Very clean and spacious. I was upgraded from a studio to a 1 bedroom, which was very cool. I had a view of the pool and loved it. It did get a little loud on Friday and Saturday night because of the onsite bar, but nothing too crazy. Just people having fun! The breakfast was a huge highlight, amazing hot food and lots of variety. They don’t serve the same breakfast twice in a row, so it was fun to have all sorts of food. They have healthy food options as well. The bed and the couch in the room were extremely comfortable, I was very impressed. I have a bad back injury and the furniture was such a relief after a long day of work travel. The pool area and Terrace Bar were lovely! Very resort-y vibes without the price tag. Happy hour was so fun! They have local wines and beer and yummy food from 5-6pm. Overall, a true 5/5 experience. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you Sonesta Gainey Ranch!

All in all the property was very good. The fact that I couldn't add the stay to our account was annoying. All our other accounts allow adding no matter how it was booked.

Breakfast and location couldn't be beat! Lovely property, will stay there again! It's not a dislike, just more of a comment. A few more dishes and cutlery in the suite. There's a dishwasher, but only two of each item - mug, glass, wine glass, plate, etc, so you need to wash each item if you want to use it the next day.

The staff was nice and rooms were dated. Everything was clean. The food and happy hour was overrated. It was the same happy hour during my stay, nothing different. The breakfast was ok and the same. It would’ve been nice to factor in allergies and food most don’t eat. I would’ve been happy with regular sausage or bacon. My epi pen didn’t see the chorizo spices coming. The extra hidden fees were interesting. I stay various places 4-6 annually. I wouldn’t stay again knowing better places exist even without food. Orange Tree is nearby go there instead.

The pool area is nice, and the bar has a nice variety. The staff was very nice. The whole last day by the pool, the staff was working on the grounds. Obviously, there needs to be a gardening day, but the blowers were sending leaves and dirt all over the people who were trying to enjoy the pool for the majority of the morning.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean! You could get lost if you didn't have your map with you, but luckily when you check in they provide you one that shows where the elevators are located.

The breakfast was good. Kept running low on coffee and water. Overall a very nice place to stay.

This hotel really gave resort vibes. They have free breakfast daily plus happy hour 5-6pm that includes small bites (The spinach artichoke dip was🔥). Pool and hot tub were awesome! I loved my room it came with a whole kitchen and the tv was so clutch you can google cast right from your phone and stream whatever you want. This place exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be back again :)

My husband and I stayed here for a couple nights for our baby moon and it was such a great stay. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Scottsdale! The breakfast in the morning was so convenient and tasty considering that it is free! Hotel staff were super nice and helpful. The pool was relaxing and clean. Loved having a suite with a fridge and stove for leftovers after touring the town. Book this place you won’t regret it!

I travel a lot for work and play so I know what I’m talking about. Every single thing is thought out. Every single thing is in pristine working order. Every staff member is warm and happy. It’s beautiful and the breakfasts are top notch.

We upgraded to the two bedroom two bathroom suite and that was a great move. We had a balcony overlooking the courtyard/pool and there was plenty of space for three of us. The beds were comfortable, good amenities, walkable to a grocery store and several shops and restaurants, and not far from Old Town Scottsdale. We had a kitchenette, though the dishwasher appeared to leak a little. We also found a few food trash items in the room when we arrived (chips on the floor), so we decided to wipe down all the surfaces. It appears a child (or several) stayed in the room previous to us. Great staff and the happy hour and breakfast were a nice touch.

Love the look, style and vibe of the hotel. Rooms were a great size and really good for a family with kids. The breakfast was quite limited but quite tasty nonetheless! Reception were lovely and the theme was really cool, along with the little astrological sheets and wellness tips and activities around! Nice and clean, pretty decent bathrooms compared to others and well priced for the room It didn’t feel very family friendly in that there was little to no consideration for the kids. The pool area is really not geared towards kids at all, no shallow spot or anything like that with signs saying no jumping (I understand this is standard but for kids with no where to play in the pool it’s easier said than done), no toys, we also got stared at as if we were interrupting even though our children were very quiet. At breakfast, we also got glared at the second the kids weren’t dead silent. It made it a bit uncomfortable and although that’s a problem with the guests and not the hotel specifically, I do feel as though the hotel is really geared towards golfers and the elderly (a lot whom have their dogs), so it made it a little hard to enjoy when we felt like we needed to keep our children quiet the enjoy time we were at the hotel.

This is a really nice property with lots of amenities in an upscale area in Scottsdale. The rooms are spacious and clean, the pool & hot tub area is beautiful and well maintained and the breakfast has a lot of options and patio seating. We had a great night’s sleep and would recommend it to others. It is about a 10-15 min drive from Old Town so something to be aware of if that is important to you. N/A

Loved the pool and courtyard

The suite was a nice size, the kitchen was a lot larger than I anticipated, the shower was also nice, and I appreciated the gym on site. No complaints!

The king bed suite was spacious however the rooms could use an upgrade.

We loved our stay here! Beautiful pool area! Full hot breakfast buffet with lots of options. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was older but bed was good and everything well maintained. Highly recommend!

Property is beautiful, Rooms are old and outdated. Breakfast was cold and we paid extra for courtyard view. That was a joke! we got a view of a roof to the outside bar and if you squint you could see the pool at a far distance. We did complain about it. Front staff didn't seem to care. Very unhappy.

We contacted the hotel multiple times through different channels and had to follow up repeatedly for more than a month before finally receiving a document. The whole process was unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming, and this could have been handled much more professionally.

Sonesta Suites Scottsdale Gainey Ranch is a beautiful, clean, and well-kept property. Overall, we had a very nice stay. The only thing to note is that we visited during spring break, so the hotel was quite busy with many kids around. If you’re looking for a quieter, more relaxing stay, this may not be the best choice during that time of year. Other than that, it’s a lovely hotel.

Even though they were busy, my friend and I BOTH were able to get early check in. The breakfast was great. The pool was wonderful. We were very happy there. There was nothing I didn't like. I did have a view of the parking lot unfortunately, but a building is a building and the other amenities made it all worth it.

The room size is larger than most hotels and was clean. The kitchenette had a full size refrigerator, single cup Keurig, 2 plates, 2 forks, knives and spoons. The dishwasher and the garbage disposal did not work. The free breakfast was similar to most free breakfasts in other hotels. The pool area is very nice and the hotel is located next to a shopping complex with a Sprouts grocery store and the Village Tavern restaurant which had a nice happy hour and good food.

Arrived to find that their system had been down for an hour. They were telling customers they could cancel their reservation and go somewhere else. wWe had to wait about an hour for the system to come up. They couldn’t accommodate us and just give us an empty room and figure it out later. We were there for a show on the next night. It’s a good thing we didn’t arrive the same day as the show. Everything else about the place was nice and convenient location.

The room and bed were very comfortable. The plumbing had an odd noise that would start up but not from our use of the water. The staff was okay but every time I stepped up to the customer service counter I did not feel like I was the priority.

The toilet in our room was a wobblier- It needed to be tightened up. Staff was GREAT!! Very accommodating to my difficult wife. lol

we had room booked from the 8-12th. however after arriving, and going to the room, i couldn’t stay any longer. The couch in the common area was disgusting and unfortunately after i sat on it, the entire night was spent in the shower. i was getting bit by something. i don’t want to know, we wound up booking somewhere else, and working on getting the refund. biggest issue with expedia. i cannot recommend this place at all

Property is well maintained, and the room was very nice

Also always had to ask for another set of towels as there were 4 of us and 3 sets of towels. The rooms ate also very short in outlets for charging devices. With 4 people we had a lot of devices that needed plugging in. Had to have them in the kitchen. We loved the breakfast and that there was a menu change every day but thechours are too short. We had to jump out of bed and get our food and bring it back to the room. I think that area is prone to more people on vacation not business people. We like to sleep in and relax!

The swimming pool was great and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby/pool bar had great service. Shad and Richard made our stay great with good bar service. The breakfast options were endless and the pancake bar was great with all the topping options.

We really like the space in the suites. The breakfast was excellent, and the pool in the workout room were great. The customer service was very prompt and responsive, and that helped to enjoy our stay even more.

I stayed for three nights with my 16 yo daughter. Great place for a mother/daughter trip! The breakfast had variety and was very well attended to, the pool area was clean and well-maintained, and the rooms were comfortable. Staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again!

Didn’t come to clean my room til almost 4 pm. Originally left 1 washcloth in the room for three of us. Had to call room keeping and of course didn’t speak English. Then no communication between that housekeeper and the lady that came to clean the room as she also gave me new towels.

Pool was not heated, contrary to what they advertised. The bar/restaurant was closed for dinner, also contrary to what was advertised.

Property is nice just out dated. I requested and paid for a courtyard view suit with a balcony however I had a small room with a view of the roof. Could t see the courtyard or pool as requested. Staff was friendly but cost of everything high.

My only real disappointment was the bar being closed except during Happy Hour. I was told this was due to staffing issues, but it still impacted my experience. When I choose a hotel, two things matter most to me: location and whether it has a bar. After a long day, I really look forward to unwinding with a cocktail on‑site, so having the bar unavailable for most of the day was a letdown. Overall, it’s a great property with excellent staff, but the limited bar hours kept it from being the perfect stay.

Poolside bar was not open, pool not heated and no towels in the room. Towels finally arrived for 1 person and had to call again for 2 more sets.

Late check in do to delayed flight and we had been shut out. We had to wait over 30 min for commuter to finish its closing. We were then charged for that night again.

Room is nicely updated except for the bathroom. The kitchen has full size fridge, stove top and eating and prep space. We enjoyed the breakfast and the happy hour.

Room is nicely updated except for the bathroom. The kitchen has full size fridge, stove top and eating and prep space. We enjoyed the breakfast and the happy hour.

The hotel is beautiful! Unfortunately, we checked in but never used the room because my husband was admitted to the hospital due to a medical emergency. When I called the hotel, asking for help regarding our belongings in the room, explaining that we are from Texas and my husband is in the hospital, the rep showed absolutely no compassion and made no attempt to help me find a solution to storing our items until the emergency was resolved. Instead, she offered to charge me for another night at twice the price. I was forced to leave my husband’s side at the hospital to gather our things. He said absolutely nothing to me- just handed me a new room key. This hotel looks nice, but the staff are arrogant, unkind, and unhelpful. The room was average and the hotel needs some updating. The outside ground were very nice but the inside was very dated. My biggest issue was that I had to ask multiple times for new towels (which were supposed to be refreshed every day) and I had a problem with the plug in the bathroom and had to ask twice for someone to come and look at it.

Clean rooms, grounds and the staff was wonderful. Generous selection at the breakfast buffet and the complimentary snacks in the evening were a great bonus! If ever back in Scottsdale this is where I would stay!

The hotel is in a great location for easy access to shopping and restaurants. The rooms were large, fully equipped kitchen and Sprouts market was located in the shopping center next door. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room was OK, although a bit dated and there were a few small issues including that the shower drained very slowly. The whole place was very noisy and we had to change rooms on the first night in order to obtain a less noisy room.The maid service was annoyingly inconsistent and really inadequate

The heater in the restroom was not working & making a loud noise.

We really enjoy this hotel. It’s a nice facility with great rooms, you have a nice kitchenette, full size refrigerator, and our 2 bedroom, 2 bath had 3 brand new tvs. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. I am being treated at Mayo Clinic, and this is a perfect location. Really nice restaurant next door too.

The pillows were pretty bad, looked fluffy but your head fell straight through, led to an uncomfortable nights sleep for my wife and I. The staff was very friendly but oddly didn’t know basic things about the hotel. For example, I was staying on the 2nd floor and couldn’t find the ice machine. Called down to the front desk and they said it was only on the first floor. The next day, I found an ice machine on the opposite side of the 2nd floor. Just strange they didn’t know.

Honest Review- the hotel was outdated but the hotel and rooms were clean. The breakfast was great some days and okay other days. The pool and hot tub were warm and clean. Love the onsite laundry. There was plenty self parking. The free happy hour was nice. There was a ton of staff walking around if you need something. Easy access to hwy. For the cost, I thought it was worth it especially compared to other hotels.

We found cockroaches in our room on the last day.

Steps away from a great mall of shops & restaurants. The staff is terrific. Friendly & responsive. But their technology is terrible. To stay connected you need to sign in each time you leave the property. Lastly, the stall shower was TERRIBLE. The design of the shower door does not allow you to turn on & adjust the temperature before stepping in. I bring my own shampoo and conditioner & there is NO place to put them except the floor.

The room was clean, staff was nice, breakfast was very good: Everything was great, but I had to take one star away because I was never told about the $30 daily resort fee, which added $150 to my 5 night stay and I believe it was too high, we didn’t use any amenities since we came to a soccer fest and we were out all day, It just feel that we were charged for the “free breakfast”

We loved rhe kitchen in the room and separate living room area. Breakfast was great on the weekend, and pretty awful on weekdays. I'm not sure if it was different people making the food or what the difference was, but food was soggy and ubder cooked on weekdays. The 6am-10pm pool and hot tub hours were nice.

What a fantastic hotel in a great location. Our room is fantastic. It’s a big studio-sized room with a full kitchen and just very expansive. It’s really well done and comfortable. It will be our new place when coming to Scottsdale.

Well, our check in with Nicholas the manger was great! Everything after that was average for example the walls are so thin in your room you can hear next door there full convo all windows and doors shut you can still hear people by the pool.The morning breakfast was a joke all the items they had were bland. Upon check out the girl at the front desk no season greeting as it's Christmas! Christmas breakfast was a biscuit and a sausage. We would not be staying here again even though Nicholas was great. Lighting in the rooms are very dull as well. Sofa needs to be replaced too soft.

We have stayed at Sonesta multi days twice in last month. Really impressed both times, very clean, good breakfast, nice happy hour, and the location is perfect for me as a patient at Mayo Clinic. I’m sure we will be back.

The hotel look and lobby is nice. Bkfast good and happy hour and snacks are nice. The rooms do not have as much upkeep put into them. Very outdated, for charging devices (30 pin iPod holder on the alarm clock) 2 stand alone usb hubs. Also the room was fairly dirty. Unknown splatters on drapes and bathroom casing. Some hairs on the towels. Received a blanket for the pull out with a huge spill on it and had to call to get another, which has several smalls holes in it. Found wrappers under the end table by the bed which means cleaning was not thorough before our check in. Overall, it was ok. Not sure I would choose this location again.

The breakfast menu was great the food tasted amazing and I like how they had the social time with the chips and salsa but the biggest thing was the staff was amazing they were all very helpful specially a lady name Liz she was so sweet and caring and very helpful.

I loved our stay here and plan to go back often! The only reason the review isn't all 5 stars is because they are doing construction. Their were painters working near the pool area. They were clean and did their best not be disruptive, however it was less relaxing and peaceful having paint being sprayed and construction noise out by the pool.

It is undergoing some external renovation but is in need of work on some of the in room facilities especially the stove top No kettles available though there is a coffee machine The evening free supper has been downgraded to a happy hour drinking session

This hotel is so wonderful in so many ways. The room was comfortable, nice bed, shower and sitting area. The breakfast buffet has many options, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, danish juice and coffee.we stayed twice and both times was very nice. The second time we were in a newly renovated room with new carpet. There is a great restaurant in the immediate area “Village Tavern” and the food was delicious and the staff was very courteous. My husband ordered the Fish & Chips and said they were very good. I had the Sea Bass and it was delicious as well.The warm butter cake was to die for it was topped with French vanilla ice cream, raspberry sauce and fresh strawberries and blueberries. . We will definitely be going back to this hotel soon!

Unfortunately, within 15 minutes of checking into my room, an old fashioned/ outdated charger block blew up my brand new Apple iPhone! I was left without a device for the duration of my stay. The property promised to support an insurance claim for my device & the cost of purchasing a replacement device. On return to the UK, they then sent an email refusing to accept liability for what happened to my phone! I am taking this further!

When I arrived, the front desk attendant was on her cell phone for 15 minutes without acknowledging me. I stood where she could see me and she just continued on her phone call like I wasn’t even there. Breakfast wasn’t as good as I remembered from being there some years back. The fruit was gross and the eggs and sausage was cold.

Rooms were kind of old, not very specious. Needs some renovation in hallway’s areas. But pool was really nice and also we appreciate complementary breakfast.

Been staying at this property for work for 25 years. It’s always been clean, comfortable and friendly. Not every Sonesta is a home run so was concerned when this hotel became part of this chain. So far so good. They’ve done a nice job of keeping this place updated including a newly renovated pool and some of the niceties like happy hour and complimentary hot breakfast. The location is great with Gainey Village next door and all of north Scottsdale in nearby driving distance.

Had a great time just a weekend staycation getaway

We were only there for a short time. One night. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub in the evening but only had enough time for breakfast and then off to the airport. The room and the pool/hottub were all great. Only negative was having to ask several times for the milk to be refilled only to find after going to the kitchen door, that there was no milk available. Our time was short. Had I known earlier I would have used the oat milk or almond milk right away and not waited around. Otherwise everything was great.

This is our go to for a get away. SONESTA did not disappoint. Staff very courteous. Only thing that disappoints are the carpets are nasty in the rooms. Last 2 times we have had the same issue. Otherwise clean.

Good = friendly & professional staff Good = breakfast included Good = convenient having kitchens in rooms & full size fridge with freezer Need improvement = carpets are filthy in suites, maybe replace with either luxury vinyl planks or tile (much more sanitary). Need improvement = no room keys were issued at time of check in due to a technical issue, so staff had to physically let guests in, which isn’t convenient & takes time waiting….staff did their best though. Staff promised to deliver keys & slide them under the door once the problem was fixed, but that never happened. The next morning after breakfast we had to inquire about getting room keys issued which we did finally get. Need improvement = water pressure in shower very low Need improvement = clearing drain in bath tub and shower after each guest checks out, so next guest doesn’t stand in a puddle of filthy water when they shower.

I really liked the location, walking distance to many great restaurants and a Sprouts grocery store. The room was upgraded to a mini suite, and it was very spacious. The breakfast buffet is really good, with many choices. The pool is small, and it was very crowded. The hotel looks a bit outdated, but overall it's nice.

Very nice hotel for a two night stay and good location. Parking easy. Carpet needs to be replaced in halls and room, but otherwise king suite room was great and had everything we needed. Pool area, although not overly large, was well kept along with the property grounds. Can see they take great pride in the property. Breakfast was better than expected and plenty of hot options. We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, quiet and nicely situated private hotel. The pool is the star of the show with its many loungers, flowers, trees, umbrellas and convenient towels. It had a nice vibe with plenty of sun and shade areas. The complimentary breakfast has more options than a usual motel/hotel free breakfast and the 5-6pm complimentary happy hour including a couple of hot appetizers was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are quite spacious and it was convenient to have a large fridge and freezer in the room. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean. At first we were disappointed that the rooms were dark, making it a little dreary, but after being in the hotel desert sun all day, it was nice to be in a darker room. The furniture and style is a tad dated and looks better in the photos but it's still very nice. Right next door to the hotel is a new strip mall with a natural supermarket and a nice variety of restaurants that take 2 minutes to walk to. The location is a 12-minute drive south to Old Town Scottsdale and a 12-minute drive north to a fancy shopping/entertainment area. The one thing that could use improvement was the hotel front staff. Most of them weren't very friendly and didn't seem to want to go out of there way to help you. They also charge you an early check in fee when checking in 30-min before check-in time. Whenever I've stayed at hotel and they had a room ready when we arrived, they let us check in with out charging us more.

I loved the size of the room. However, it was very dated and my sheets had a big hole or tear in them. Also, the carpets are in need of updating. They are dirty and old. Location was nice and the breakfast was good, too.

Front desk attendant was busy flirting with a regular for 20 while we waited to check in, only to charge me 70 dollars more than quoted. When we got to our room the carpet looked disgusting, the blankets were cheap, the water bottles they left out for us were tagged at 5 dollars each and the tv wasn’t facing the couch or the bed??? It faced the kitchen. When we went to the bar, the bartender confused us 2 times for wanting something complimentary when we were just trying to order. The only thing that was decent was breakfast.

The hotel was decent but quite dated. We booked a courtyard view room but basically had mostly a view of the roof of the lobby. Overall a nice stay, the breakfast and pool were good but the room seemed shabby. Safe and convenient to everything in Scottsdale but we’ll stay elsewhere in the future.

Amazing trip and hotel was in a great location.

The breakfast buffet should be elevated like serving omelletes or more choices.

No pool.

Pool was closed due to resurfacing. Did not get notified until 2 days before.

Our only complaint was we were planning to spend parts of two days at the pool lounging but were not informed the pool was closed for repair. The extra $30/nt resort fee seemed unnecessary due to the pool closure.

Beautiful setting. Nice quiet stay for one night. I would stay again.

I don’t mind paying good money for a hotel…….but this place is way overpriced for what they offer.

I staid here after a hip replacement surgery and it was so comfortable and accommodating
