Motel 6 Old town Scottsdale/Fashion Square

They put me in a handicapped room. I'm not handicapped, so they took that away from someone else.And also the bed is was lumpy

Only downside of this motel is 10$ parking fee and the parking lot is almost empty, bright side is right next to Scottsdale Fashion Square the largest mall in Arizona and one these top mall in the country, and close to fabulous restaurants, bars and nightclubs in Old Town Scottsdale,

Older property but very clean and exceptionally well located

Two story - no elevator, only stairs. Not easy to get a big suitcase up to room as an elderly person. Rooms are small, but tidy. It’s a Motel 6, so it’s retro but they are doing their best to keep the place up. Location is great, parking lot and guests… some were a bit sketchy. So lock your doors

To top it all off i got charged an extra $10.00 for my disabled sister+$10.00 to park on the property or advised to park on the street for free. The icing was she refused to let me use the credit card i reserved the room with (my mothers) thats I've been a authorized user over 30yrs,whom I'm named after and NEVER had a problem. I've been staying at Motel 6's in MANY "USA"states and NEVER experienced this.

I've stayed here before but the first time using Hotel.com app to make my reservation. Everything went smoothly during check-in. The front desk lady made me wait a bit while she was finishing up on her cpu but was very nice and greeted me right away when I walked in. She was also very accommodating and explained everything she needed to. She even recommended a room on the 2nd floor since I asked for more quiet since I really needed some sleep. Thank you Motel 6 and Hotel.com for making my 1 day stay as easy as possible.

Amazing value for the price and location. Very clean the only thing I would have loved is a mini fridge but otherwise it was great. Front desk was nice.

Staff and management were terrific and helpful, however, and it shares a parking lot on Camelback with the Original Pancake House. That is an insanely good breakfast place. Everything is well-sourced or homemade. I recommend staying here! Lydia is great!

I surprisingly really enjoyed my stay here. It’s actually the first motel six I’ve ever stayed at in my life. I was originally at a nicer hotel in north Scottsdale over the weekend and it was such a nightmare they fully refunded me. After trying to figure out where to go next and wanting to save a little bit of money, but still be in a good area, I decided on this place and it all went pretty well. The two ladies that work there in the morning and the late afternoon, we’re both super super nice and all of the house cleaners were really nice as well. The rooms were clean and being a solo traveler with two small dogs I felt really safe. I talked to a few of the people staying there, most people were in life transitions as I am too and there were a bunch of bikers for the couple of days that I stayed there, but they were really nice as well. They didn’t bother and I felt like I was in Sons of Anarchy lol. There’s tons of grass if you have dogs right in the area and you could literally walk into Dillards to the mall just a few feet away. It was also really quiet in the evening, which was much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again. I did have to move rooms because the hot water stopped working in the room I was in which was kind of a pain, but they gave me free parking and the bed in the second room was a little bit broken and sank in, but everything else that went well that I said above made up for all of that. I would still definitely stay here again!

It was very close to shopping and restaurants for my stay while I was in town for two concerts. I would rate the the motel a perfect 10, but the bathtub backed up and I didn't want anyone to come in the room to fix it because I was traveling with my two cats. The fan on the air conditioner went on the fritz. It still cooled the room, but the fan speed wouldn't go above low.

The location is great, near the shopping mall and in a super great part of town. The room wasnt as elegant in comparison, but the staff was nice and helpful. The location does make it quite noisy though, between the supercars ripping down the nearby street all hours of the day and the 4am trash pickup screeching you awake what seemed like every day of my stay. If you are a light sleeper, consider a different location perhaps. Otherwise, decent value for the cost for the location.

The hotel staff were wonderfully nice. I stay at Motel 6 because I travel with a service dog. While he can go anywhere, I prefer Motel 6 due to their dog friendly policy. The room was clean enough but it was a cracker box. SMALL! The price for Scottsdale Fashion Square was extremely high (probably due to location) and should have been way less. Looked like they were full of people traveling through so they won't likely lower their prices. If you aren't going for the dog- you will have prettier accommodations elsewhere for the price. Again, the staff were excellent and morning coffee was good with pleasant greetings from office staff. Dog potty areas were nicely maintained with dog bags and trash cans.

We stay there primarily for the very central location - and the relatively low (but not low) price. It's below "basic" - old, Motel 6 building, towels like thin rags, NO hair dryer, no closet, tiny rooms, slippery shower, noisy fan, rather noisy generally if there's a biker group or similar. Weird check-in process - everyone staying in the room has to show their ID. Makes me worry about their clientele and security. But sometimes it's the only place available on short notice.

I was charged $20 for checking in a half hour early because it was 93° and my to dog was suffering.

This is a very basic room. Clean enough but only big enough for the two beds. It was clean but for $800+ for three nights it had no breakfast, no coffee maker in the room and no housekeeping while we were there apparently that only happens every three days. I would not stay there again.

What can I say? It’s a motel six I knew it was not the Ritz Carlton but this beautiful piece of real estate should be torn down and turned into something nice like a shopping mall. This motel six has no business being in this nice area and they have no business charge in 150 and I seen even $200 per night worst mattress, reminding me of when I was in a prison cell in Russia The noise the sheets stunk towels were clean. Coffee was horrible anyway the place should be tore down. sorry for giving you bad review but come on. It’s a Motel 6 Charge 60 maybe $90 if you can’t charge 200 per night for a damn motel six.

Room was very small. Lacked a microwave and fridge as well. Bonus was there is free street parking right in front of the hotel and it is a 15-20 minute walk to old town Scottsdale. 5 minutes to the mall. Place was clean as well.

The room was very basic, the flooring was cracked and the bed was very uncomfortable. I honestly did not expect much based on the price. Also, I found it a little weird that you had to pay to park in their parking lot. The location however was perfect. Walking distance from everything, Shopping, Pubs, Hiking etc.

Stayed 2 nights, no housekeeping and I was not told this at check in. Also be surprised to pay for parking. Room smelled heavy of bleach. Eye burning strong first time in room, we had to leave door open to air it out.

The Original Pancake House is next door. Food must be good because there were high end cars parked in the lot. Closest convenience store is Circle K and it is in walking distance. Closest Safeway Grocery store cost about $5 using Lyft. There is also a shopping mall next door. There is bus transportation and those Waymo cars that drive by GPS. Hotel staff was very nice, but the older lady who was there around 6/7 pm on 1/11/26 was a bit rude with her response. Hotel was clean, outside area was clean, room was clean. I would recommend if you are staying for 2 nights like I did. I also had a microwave and refrigerator in my room. No ironing board. Overall stay was excellent!

Nothing felt safe and the room smelled like a stale smokers room. I would like to request a refund. Firstvroom smelled so bad it made me nauseated so i equested another and it did not smell decent either. So i handed key back but they didnt refund me.

Motel 6 is usually a property you use while in a bind, so when i found myself in one after a family trip i was worried it would be as scary as our motel 6 stay in Blythe. Luckily this property blew me away. it was clean and quiet the staff seemed friendly definitely enjoyed our overnight stay

Check in is easy. KIDS front desk were nice. Really stupid they make you pay $10 per day to park on the lot. Like why? If we paid to sleep there isn’t that enough to park here!? At least they have fridge and micro. Unlike some other not so friendly motel 6 places.

We stayed one night at this motel and requested the use of an iron. The motel declined to provide one unless we paid the rate difference for an “updated” room that included an iron. Considering that an iron is generally regarded as a basic amenity, this was both unexpected and inconvenient.

Heater worked good. I paid for 2 days and the second day my card doesn't work. Had to get reactivated. No apologies or explanation as to why. Not very professional. Very inconvenient after just walking 2 miles. I'm recovering from cancer, so 2 miles was very strenuous for me. I will still stay there 2 months from now but I had to mention this. I arrived on Saturday night. I had a medical appoinment Monday at 10am so I had to stay 2 days because my flight for the next day would have cost me $600 more. Next time will be for one day as I will plan ahead.

The parking did cost 10$ a day but was easy and accesible. The room was clean and the staff were all very nice every time I had an encounter with them. If I am in the area for an event, this will likely be where I stay again.

The old lady at the front desk was extremely rude. I booked through Expedia and nowhere did it say it had to be booked under the name on my ID. This is my first time booking a hotel and so I was unaware of the things you might need to do. There was a man who was infromt of us and when he rang the bell, she made him wait 25 minutes before she finally got to the front. When the man was done with his buisness, and we went over, she disappeared even when i knew she saw us. When i was about to ring the bell she came over and looked at us like we were interrupting her alone time. She demanded our IDs and gave us a nasty look, and when we did, she yelled at the both of me and my friend about not having a reservation under either of our names. When I told her I was unaware that I had to do that, and the name I booked the room under was my preferred name, she yelled at me and told me that she cant give us our room unless its booked under the name on our IDs. She then told us to put it up with Expedia and when I did, (the assistant was very nice and understanding) The assistant had called her and asked to see if she could change the name on her end. She yelled at the assistant and was very rude and not understanding and didn't want to try and solve the situation in any way. Given all the bad reviews about this old hag, I'm surprised she hasn't been fired. Please do something about this. She's 100% tanking your reviews. Do better.

Room was so so clean. The floor was filthy but looked clean. Only when we wiped up a spill did we see how filthy it was.

Great location, clean room and very reasonably priced

Minimal expectations generally met. For a last-minute, one-night work trip, this property was significantly less expensive than nearby hotels. The A/C and bathroom were functional. The bed was OK. I didn't use the wifi, TV or anything else, so can't rate them. I travel regularly and this place seems to deliver the very basics. I didn't love the service, including a sterile late-night check-in through a bank teller window, but oh, well.

I would pay the extra $20 somewhere else to have a coffee pot and a comfortable bed. Next time I know.

This hotel is a diamond in the rough. I am really enjoying my stay in this wonderful hotel. The staff is really nice, especially Marissa. She was concerned about me getting upstairs and provided an upgrade. This was a kindly gesture that was not expected. This complimented my stay and made it even more enjoyable. The room is very pleasant.

Leslie and Dion are the best they have excellent customer service and always friendly. They answer my questions and help me when needed. The housekeepers do an excellent job on keeping the rooms nice and clean. No complaints, I will continue to come back.

What I did not like was paying for parking when it should automatically be a given ! To park on the property you’re paying to stay a room in. Doesn’t make any sense to me. I get they’re by a mall but they’re are better ways to fix this parking issue!!!

It’s a Motel 6, so you know what you’re getting. But the check in was super fast, the room was clean and as described. It’s never going to be 5-Star; but it’s not trying to be and the price reflects that. As a bonus we were able to park right outside our room too. Perfect post travel stop-over.

When I got there, I was told I have to pay a parking fee to park on the property or park across the street. This is actually price gouging. How annoying!

The staff especially the managers were rude and complete scumbags. They kicked me out because they said when I switched rooms my room was left dirty with dog hair. I actually swept and mopped the room and he used six Swiffer pads on the floor to clean it. They kicked me out with no warning and left me on the street with my dogs. They are horrible people and should not be in the hospitality business. They're the most disgusting people I've ever dealt with in my life. Total scumbags.

The AC in unit 130 isn't working properly was hot tossing and turning the whole night other than that everything else was good clean room like always.

Professional and friendly service, the lady at the reception is wonderful. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, air conditioning. We spent only one night passing through, but we also managed to use the pool and jacuzzi. The location is right next to the old town where it is worth going for a walk. In the morning they invite you for free coffee ☕️

The Wi-Fi is not ideal for heavy work loads, so if you’re working remotely and need strong connectivity, this may not be the best fit. Also, the cleaning schedule (every other day) can be a bit inconvenient when working variable hours. I recommend it for short stays where affordability and location are priorities, but I’d suggest managing expectations when it comes to service and amenities.

Beautiful place no one bugged you

It was comfortable, clean and quite.

I really appreciate the over the moon service we experienced while at the Motel 6 by fashion square in Scottsdale. We have stayed in many like motels, but this is one of the few that really gets it right and brings you the experience of a hotel and quality service. Thanks again to Hotel.com and Motel 6 for the awesome and ultra affordable stay!! Can't wait for the next one!

Conveniently located to shopping area, easy to get to. Friendly staff, and check in process was done with ease.

The hotel was a basic room and could have had more amenities. The hot tub wasn’t working but the pool was. The ice machine was conveniently located. The room was a little small and basic. If you want a room that’s affordable in the moderately priced Scottsdale then this is the place for you.

The older blonde woman that checked me in could use a refresher on the true meaning of customer service. Having spent over a decade in the Las Vegas Hospitality Industry, we are fully groomed to reflect the company’s customer service ideals. She was quite brash when asked about the registering of all guests. Pretty snide quips and personal remarks based on a question alone. Then when it came to explaining the location of the room, she showed a darkly printed map, not explaining features such as vending, enjoying the pool and spa, etc. Yes it’s Motel 6, but it’s also situated in the midst of Old Town Scottsdale. Updating the rooms to reflect modern needs and conveniences might also help. Our room’s ac was heavily used to the point that although you could read the temperature, it was a gamble on if you selected heat or cooling. Not to mention the bathtub mixing valve has a constant heavy drip and the sink faucet has hot water only, no cold. We brought our own toiletries, but the simple shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were not offered. Most people could comment with, “It’s Motel 6, what did you expect?” Value for the dollar.

Good price for the location. Lacking what may now be considered standard amenities (fridge, microwave) but that was okay for the price. Pool was closed which was a bigger deal as I was planning on the pool being available. Hotel receptionist, although quite competent, was not very friendly.

Staff is extremely rude hot water didn't work because the direction of cold to hot was going in the wrong direction and then proceeded to degrade me and laugh at me because I didn't know that it had to be turned the other way because it wasn't the correct direction that it should have been and then when brought up to the staff they basically ignored me and I called the hotline number the 1-800 number for Motel 6 was told that I was going to be getting a refund and that they would call the property and then reach back out to me nope never got a call back anything it was just rude and inconvenient for me not to have a hot shower after I paid it for a room and then on top of that my door didn't lock so I had left and went to the store to get something and come back and my doors open because it doesn't latch the rooms floors were filthy the shower was filthy just all together a horrible experience

I thought, giving its location (steps away from Fashion Square) that it might be a bit more on the Boujie side for a Motel 6, but it was not. Didn’t feel really safe as a solo traveler. The hidden, $10 a night parking fee caught me off guard. For the price…there was a resort down the street that was having a special that was equal to what I paid after the parking. Would not stay here again. But the location was ideal! Bummer the owner can’t zuzzzz it up a bit to at least make the minimal standard for the area.

Quick pleasure trip for dinner and movie. We didn’t want to rush back and drive too late so decided it would be best to spend the night. Good stay for the money, efficient.

No issues. Been here before. Never an issue. The rooms do need to be aired out due to an unwelcoming stench, other than than that, no issues.

I had business in old town so it was convenient. The price was right. I like Motel 6's bare floors. There's no pool or (more importantly) hot tub.

Chech in and out was good. Room was as described and very quiet. We got an excellent price. Floors could have been cleaner and pillows could have been more comfortable. Room was pretty tiny for two people. Sad pool was not open!

The pool was closed and this is the second time I booked a hotel through Expedia where the pool is being marketed as a feature, but is not available for use. I find it shameful that between the hotel or motel and Expedia can’t manage this feature accurately, which is misleading marketing on a continuous basis.

Told me the pool was closed. I said “I wish I knew that”… she said…”well now you know” I changed my booking to stay at another property. Never again. This person needs to be fired and this property needs an overhaul in every way.

Good value but could be better. No reason to charge for parking with all of the stalls available. My room was buggy from probably the door being open when housekeeping cleans. Also, there was a leak in shower, so when I arrived, the tub was full of water - not sanitary, so I didn’t use it.

The place is awful broken pool terrible staff and hilariously they charge ten dollars for parking with a huge empty lot. Stay somewhere else, anywhere else.

The best part of this hotel is the location. Lynn at the front desk is as super helpful. The room was just ok for the money. The bed was the worst. Hard and I could feel the springs. The air conditioner makes noise all night, long. Shower had great water pressure, the room has a refrigerator and a microwave, which is nice. Decent TV. Overall, if you can stand the bed and the sound of the AC, the hotel is a fine place to stay for a night or two.

Unable to check in due to employee having a problem with motorcycles and not allowing us to get the rooms that we had paid for with two separate reservations because the full party was not there when I asked if we could get one room that we would be sharing she still denied service

This hotel has been remodeled, and the room was fresh and bright. The bed was comfy. The location was ideally close to the Fashion Mall and Old Town.

Call was answered after 7 rings and the staff put me on hold right away and forgot about me. She did this two times. Upon check-in, I mentioned to the front desk old lady, she replied; “we are always short staff and overloaded with work. Besides, the property is very clean and the area is very nice and quiet.
