Reviews
The hotel is undergoing major renovations, which has led to a mix of positive and negative experiences for guests. While the staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and service, the construction noise and limited availability of amenities have caused significant dissatisfaction.
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Beautiful property and grounds
- Major renovations causing noise and limited amenities
- Inconsistent communication about the extent and impact of renovations

We had a great time, great staff, great accommodations. We look forward to returning!

Hotel is fabulous with top end facilities. Staff are very helpful and willing to accommodate any request. Fees are high for parking and resort fee but still worth it. Would definitely stay here again.

Our pool waiter Nathan on Fri 6/12 in the adult area was outstanding! So personable and attentive to my husband and me. I noticed he was always moving, checking in on everyone. We also enjoyed the gentleman with Maggie the owl at breakfast on Fri 6/12. Such a wonderful surprise and to see other families with little ones become fascinated with her was promising. Next time when booking, I'll be sure to request a room further from the ice machine and open common area. That created some noise late and night and early morning, but nothing too extreme. Also LOVED the bedding linens. All in all it was a great experience.

I had a wonderful stay! The room was exceptionally clean, the pool area was beautiful and relaxing, and the grounds were impeccably maintained. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and truly made the experience even better. My only suggestion would be to offer a few more food options for outdoor dining and room service. Other than that, everything was fantastic. I cannot wait to come back. It was truly a phenomenal stay!

The grounds were beautiful and the location relative to why we were there was perfect. VERY loud with lots of kids, and VERY thin walls. This is not what you’d expect from a high end property. The room was ok…the bathroom light switches were outside the bathroom, and the bathroom door was glass (odd because if you get up at night to use the bathroom, it lights up the entire room). The pillows were terrible! The bar four was good but the breakfast was bad. Stop serving the bland potato’s with breakfast!

Staying at the Scottsdale Hyatt was great. The staff were extremely helpful for suggestion options to go out, where to eat, and staying safe on the heat.

We stayed over March Break so it was extremely busy, the pools were very murky. Not sure if they’re always like that. I did love how the property had filtered water stations all over. We love Scottsdale and would try a different hotel next time we visit.
- 5/5
We were extremely impressed. Great place to take the kids to the pool for a long weekend.
- 2/5
Cleaning staff did not speak any English so failed many times to clean the room even when asked. Impossible to find a pool chair and long service to be waited on at the pool. First night was set up in a super noisy room. Above valet parking / front desk reception. Did accommodate us the next day to switch rooms. Manager at the restaurant was super nice as most of the staff did not know the restaurant had change name so finding your take out order was a challenge. Overall was expecting so much more from a resort.

What stood out most were several interactions that made me feel singled out and unwelcome. At the towel bar, in 38°C heat, I (a visibly pregnant Latina woman, 27 weeks) asked for a cup so I could use the water fountain, which requires either a bottle or a cup. I was told, “sorry, we ran out of cups.” Two minutes later, my husband, a white European male, asked the same staff member and was told, “we ran out of cups, but we have bottles of water,” and he was given a cold bottled water. On another day, when I asked for towels, the first question I was asked was, “do you have a daily pass?” I said I was a hotel guest, but was told I could not be served without a wristband, one I had never been given. Meanwhile, others in line, including my husband earlier that day, were served without one. I was then asked to wear a generic plastic wristband, despite no one else around me wearing one, to receive service. When I later spoke to the concierge, the interaction felt dismissive and I was quickly given a blue wristband that, although similar in colour, was noticeably different from those worn but other guests. These were not subtle differences. Being the only person singled out in these situations was not only uncomfortable, but humiliating. I can’t speak to intent, but the inconsistency in how I was treated compared to others was clear and concerning.

It was prob 95+ outside but the pools were cool which surprised me. Service around the pool was also sparse and could have been better. The front lobby and valet guys were very nice. Prob won’t stay here again.

Additionally, the Wi-Fi quality is very poor. The connection is unstable, slow, and frequently disconnects, making it difficult to work or even perform basic online tasks. For a hotel positioning itself at this level, reliable and high-speed internet should be a given, not a weakness.

One of the top luxury resorts in Scottsdale! Staff gave impeccable service to help make my family’s holiday stay a success. Richard at the front desk was particularly helpful and we appreciate the extra mile he went for us to ensure our stay was enjoyable and memorable. Pool, food and amenities were top notch. Looking forward to staying here the next chance we get.

Overall the stay was amazing! Absolutely beautiful resort. However, the walls are paper-thin. We heard doors slamming in the hallway all night/morning.. you could hear your neighbors sliding door opening.. was woken up by our neighbor showering early in the AM...yes...water!! That's how thin the walls are! Outside of this complaint, truly an amazing resort with unforgettable views.

The aesthetic of the hotel itself and the staff were very nice. The bathrooms were also nice! The room could have been cleaner. There were hairs in the shower and marks on the mirrors, so I know it wasn’t as clean as it could’ve been. Also the rooms could be more sound proof. People were very easily heard in the halls so sleeping in was a nonstarter especially with the cleaning crew coming through.

The downsides of this large resort for us were the parking/parkingfees, dining and pricing of food and beverages. The 24 hr mini-mart was a nice convenience but the prices were pretty high also. The Blais Tiki Taka restaurant was disappointing. The food was just ok but the service was slow and awkward. Items came out in strange order and timing. The best food we had was appetizers at the lounge but the price of a beer seemed very high. Our stay was only a couple of nights with final night on Friday and it was already evident it was going to be a lot busier and more noise with kids running around.

Friendly staff and nice amenities. Very large pool with Shepherd area for adults only. Biggest complaint is the price they charge for cabanas. $750 for small and $1000 for a large per day. I was in Hawaii and only spent $150 for a cabana on the beach for a day. Other than that very nice facility.

That was down my entire stay and I had to walk up flights of stairs. Which was very inconvenient. Housekeeping was very slow cleaning and restocking. The food was okay.

The resort was absolutely beautiful—peaceful, well-maintained, and just a great place to unwind. The staff truly made the experience, though. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. We were even greeted with margaritas at check-in, which was such a nice touch. And at La Zozzona, they went above and beyond by surprising our son with a sparkler in his gelato. Moments like that made the trip feel really special. The only thing I noticed was that breakfast and brunch options felt a bit limited, with just La Zozzona, Tiki Tika, and Mesa Centrale available. While the food was good, more variety in the mornings would have been nice. Aside from that, everything else about the resort was fantastic.

Pools were fantastic and it was nice to have an adults only option. Our room/view was very nice with a huge deck overlooking the pools. Both exceeded our expectations. The people at the golf course next door were a little early to get going on their morning maintenance, but probably understandable for the climate. :)

The beds and pillows were uncomfortable at best. It was also often hard to get our room cleaned. We would make sure we left the no service required plague was not on the door and come back to find it had been out on. The morning on check in I paid the hotel stay bill in full however at check in we were required to pay an additional $1700 in incidentals. I understand wanting guests to spend money on property but $250 a day is a hard pill to swallow and $1700 can put a damper on your family vacation. You end up spending much more time on property than exploring the town you are vacationing in. In addition to the $30 per day you need to pay to self park (considering you don't leave and come back, then you will have multiple charges) we were charged for valet every day even though we only used it once. There was a huge convention on the property from January 10-12 and we often could not get parking or get into the restaurants on property during those days so not only did we spent $250 per day during that time but we couldn't get into a property restaurant to use it and had to stay out tired and dirty from the day exploring so we could find a place to eat because there was no parking. Overall I would say the $5500 plus we spent for 7 nights would have been ok if these issues were resolved but given the circumstances I think it was a very steep bill for the experience and would not recommend.

Large resort with 7 pools and 2 jacuzzis and free bikes to rent. A very nice mall with supermarket and great restaurants (fish!!!) very close by. You can get a self-driving taxi Walmo to the airport (!!!), which is a surreal experience. A very nice lady from the concierge desk saved me from missing the flight out of Phoenix, which I am very grateful for?? There is a beautiful spa on the property with steam room and dry sauna. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay. Must be repeated. It is impossible to get to the spa if you just want to use the saunas they have. This costs 40 dollars per day but they will NOT let you in unless you pay for a massage/facial/salt room, which is 3 or 4 times more than the 40-dollar Day Pass. Nice ladies at the desk tell you to come at 8:30am to get your Pass. But once you come, every day for 5 days, the Pass is not available unless, of course, you pay for additional services. And you can not make a reservation for the Day Pass for the next day. That’s trickery, in my book.

But on a positive note Arron Culver stepped up and took care of us! He got us drinks and helped us to our room and took extra care of us at the pool. Was hoping for a New Year Eve activity for the kids but they didn’t have one. Rock wall & Playground & Camp Hyatt were not functioning. So disappointed because when we made our reservation these amenities were listed. But Nikki from activities stepped up and brought some fun crafts for my kids to do when they were taking a break from the pool, Breakfast was wonderful!! And I needed milk for my toddlers at night & the restaurant happily filled their bottles with milk!! Overall we had a great stay! Rooms were gorgeous!

This will be a beautiful property when its finished. Unfortunately, it was still under construction when we visited so there were very limited dining and bar options. Large common areas in the lobby, grounds, and restaurants were off limits. Super disappointing. We really enjoyed the spa and the pools.

Rooms were big, clean and sunny. Nice Balmain products for those into amenities. Pools are great and kids will love the water slide. Food is good (menus are slightly limited vs something like JW or Fairmont). Service is AMAZING. From the poolside staff to front desk to valet, every single person was friendly and helpful. Best I’ve ever seen, including 5 stars (this is more 4 star).

We arrived and got the wrong room, the hotel blames it on hotels.com and hotel.com did nothing to accommodate. I will never use both again.

I feel you (Hotels.com) and the hotel Hyatt should have been upfront. I feel Hyatt was negligent for withholding this information for not Informing their guest of there construction. And notifying 3rd party rentals of what condition the hotel was in. I tried to upload photo it would not let me. You can send a link and I can send them.

Costruction starting at 5:30 am. Not good!

When the renovation is done I am sure it will be lovely. That being said, it is undergoing MAJOR renovation. They really should at least alert guests through email when they book. The pool area and rooms are mostly done, but the rest of the hotel looks like a construction zone. At the very least give a credit, or rooms should be steeply discounted. I almost booked JW Desert Ridge since the prices were basically the same, but Hyatt was closer to my plans. Wishing now I would have just booked JW. It should however be noted that all of the staff was wonderful! It must be difficult for them to do their jobs in a construction zone.

The property was under construction which was more of an inconvenience than we thought it would be. Lots of noise, smells, and detours. No real place to eat on site, that wasn't a meeting room. The staff by the pool was fun. I didn’t expect with the room being 400 a night still that the resort would be so inferior ambiance wise from what it normally is.

New pools are fantastic. Remodeled rooms are very nice. Renovation of lobby, restaurants and many hallways were a major inconvenience and unsightly. Basically, a nice pool with a clean room hidden on a construction site.

The staff here went above and beyond for us. This time of year is off-peak so we had the pool complex mostly to ourselves & that was amazing. The food & drinks were delicious, service was impeccable, and our room was very high end with Balmain toiletries. Very pleased!

This used to be our favorite resort in Scottsdale. Not sure we'll stay again. First, Expedia listed a room that wasn't even available, so we're chasing a refund for the extra we paid. Second, when we got there the credit card machines weren't working for incidentals, so they asked us to come back the next day, which we had every intention of doing. They called and woke us up the next morning to get credit card information the next morning, and when we didn't answer, they SENT SOMEONE TO OUR ROOM to try and get it. They left a letter asking us to cooperate with them. When we left to get brunch, we gave them a credit card to have on file, like we had intended to the whole time. The hotel is under construction, which is irritating, but will end at some point, so I try not to hold it against them. We did have to go up the elevator to the 4th floor, cross the hotel, and take a second elevator down to the 3rd floor to get to our room, which felt a little extreme, but I could look past that too. The thing that bothered me is that their renovations to "improve" the hotel have included removing all of the best parts of their pool. They used to have these amazing greek style structures and they removed them. Now the pool is only so-so instead of amazing. Our newly renovated room had a throw pillow someone had cut with a knife, and a ring on the table that housekeeping hadn't bothered cleaning. Food was overpriced for the quality. Overall just not a pleasant experience. Staff was great

I felt unsafe and have no idea what chemicals my family breathed in during our stay. We couldn’t get to our room multiple times because they would shutdown the elevator and staircase. Couldn’t even bring the car upfront to unload and reload our luggage. There was. Not restaurant, lobby, main bar, gift shop, areas to sit and relax. This hotel should have been “not in service” It was such a bad experience and this is a shame you would subject a family on vacation in this manner. We travel often for my husband job and this was beyond disappointing. I have autoimmune disease and severe asthma unfortunately and this hotel was not idea for my already health issues. This information should have been provided when booking this hotel.

I booked this hotel based on an Instagram post I saw about the new renovated pool and all the activities they offered. I knew the property was under some construction, but this was wayyyyyyy more than the company eluded to online. The only elevator in the front wasn’t working so I hiked four flights of stairs to get to my room. The property layout was extremely confusing and the other elevator they had didn’t go to certain areas of the hotel. When the elevator was working it would jolt you when it stopped and at one point I thought I was going to be stuck in the elevator. There was no air conditioning in the elevator or on most of the floors because of all the construction. The ice machine on our floor wasn’t working also. I would not be complaining if I got a discounted rate but these were normal prices for a stay at a hotel under major construction. At the pool on a Saturday, they had cranes moving large pieces of the building in front of us, almost couldn’t hear the music. The lobby bar was a makeshift meeting room. The coffee shop was a makeshift meeting room as well and were unable to make hot lattes due to lack of equipment. I do not believe they should be allowed to have guests with this much renovation going on. I can’t imagine anyone older or with a disability being able to maneuver around the hotel with ease. God forbid there was a fire, we would’ve burned in the building trying to get out!

Had a very poor experience for my anniversary, the property is under heavy construction. It’s very loud and not relaxing. You walk into a construction zone. The hotel should be shut down until the work is complete. It is super inconvenient every time we returned to the hotel we had to walk to the opposite side to get in, take the elevator to the 4th floor walk across take a different elevator to the 3rd floor just to get to our room. The spa is closed the pool is decent, it’s not worth the headache.

Overall, my hotel experience was decent. On the positive side, the front desk and pool staff were fantastic and very accommodating. I really enjoyed my room, which was spacious and lovely. However, there were some drawbacks. The adult pool was quite warm, and I would have preferred a cooler temperature. Additionally, the pool bars could really benefit from having misters to help with the heat; it would make a significant difference. I also wish I had known that the gym and spa were closed for renovations until August, as I might have chosen to reschedule my stay. I faced issues with room service; I tried calling multiple times to order food but received no response, which forced me to eat out during most of my visit. Lastly, the construction noise, especially at 6:30 a.m., was quite bothersome. I would have appreciated being able to sleep in a bit longer. If you're considering booking during the construction period, be aware that the spa and gym will be closed, and there is a lot of ongoing work.

We LOVE this hotel BUT it is currently very, very under construction. As of July 2024, the ENTIRE lobby is under construction and completely closed. You have to check in at a make shift lobby, then go up an elevator, over and to another elevator and down to get to the pool. The restaurants are closed and they have one makeshift one in the ballroom area, and a very minimal convenience store. The Jack hammering is loud and impossible not to hear from your room. The wonderful staff did everything they could to make up for it and their attitude and kindness was so impressive given the disruption they have to face. I hope Hyatt is giving them a beach vacation at their property when this is over. I don’t know how the staff is living with it. So if you stay, know that you’re getting pretty much just the pool experience and you’ll lacking any other hotel amenities. They said it should be done by winter 2024.

There was no mention of the construction when booking the rooms. The directional signs were bad, I got lost several times and the hallway to the pool was scary for a single woman to navigate. The pool deck has no cool decking, which in Arizona is ridiculous.
- 5/5
Loved the pool and waterslide beach area. Bed was very comfortable and very clean - and products to use from lotion to hair products were fabulous. Under construction was noisy at times- do not suggest to have a room by an ice machine was noisy up to midnight and early morning.
- 2/5
It was under a major renovation and we were not made aware during the reservation process. It was was nothing like it used to be. Very disappointing. There was a makeshift bar in some obscure dingy room. Not the experience we imagined for a birthday stay. We did however enjoy the pool and service there.

The maze to get to your room during this construction period is insane and the “fro t desk” associates absolutely don’t explain directions clearly enough to navigate. They need to print out maps and walk through the steps. Everyone is walking around completely lost. The halls to find your room also don’t have air conditioning, in the middle of July! By the time you find your room or figure out how to get back to the lobby, you’re hanging on by a thread from heat stroke. Terrible experience sadly.

The property was under renovation which we knew when we booked. The staff was amazing! We were there for our anniversary and they provided us free wine at check-in along with a complimentary drink coupon to use at the pool the next day. Really top notch!! The room was clean, but it was a little bit of walk even after the elevator, mostly due to where the renovation was taking place. Once in the room it was clean and quite. The AC worked but it didn't feel like we could get the room below 70 degrees, which wasn't terrible, just something we noticed. There were some fruit flies that were in our our room and it seemed like once we dispatched on another would appear. We spent a bit of time at the pools and there was plenty of space. The pools are amazing, we plan to bring our kids back just so they can enjoy their great pools. Post renovation this place is going to be back to its amazing self with an updated look. Worth the stay!!

The majority of the hotel was under construction. Staff was nice, but the amenities and hotel were subpar. The nightly rate should have been heavily discounted.

This property has a lot of character. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was exquisite. Definitely recommended others that are visiting AZ to come stay here. It’s close to the aquarium and other attractions and only 8 min driving distance from fashion square mall.
