***Read the very bottom of the disclosure before you reserve, there is a non-negotiable $25 parking fee and one of the worst WiFi I’ve ever experienced at any hotel nation wide. Good luck watching TV, that’s a totally different nightmare. Also, the property is on a ver busy street, theres loud thumping for yiur sleeping pleasure cruising by all night. I couldn’t wait to get out of there!

It is a great place. Showers are small but the beds are so comfortable. Staff was wonderful. The check in was great and in the morning g they have the best donuts! It was great to stay in a place that was quiet and comfortable. Loved the old time feeling.

Location is ideal for the tourist using public transportation and very walkable to area attractions. Vintage small motel feel and unique touches of hospitality. The nightly parking fee, although it was pretty standard for this city, I understand.

We had a really great time! It was myself and my children, and because they are homeschooled, we can get away during weekdays as opposed to only the weekends. So when my girlfriend‘s birthday landed on a Tuesday, it was a great opportunity to not only pop up on her as a surprise, but to spend a little bit of time in Savannah. I was looking for a budget friendly, kid friendly, centrally located hotel, and when I did a Google search and went on ChatGPT the Thunderbird Inn came up. I checked other people’s reviews and to my surprise everything was on the Up and Up. It’s right on Oglethorpe Avenue walking distance away from places like city market and River Street. We did a day at Tybee, visited with my friend, and then a little bit of River Street and historic Savannah. It was a great value for the money spent, and we will be back there when we come back to Savannah in July. The parking was great at only $25 per night versus $50 per night for other hotels in the area. I felt safe, beds were very comfortable, and it was really a great stay for the money. We loved the photo ops around the hotel and my sons loved the donuts, popcorn and lemonade. We will definitely stay again when we come back to Savannah.

The location was convenient. The decor was cool The pet area was very dirty with feces. The chairs in the room had big tears in them, the door didn't close very well, the bathroom door was in need of repair. There was a lot of road noise from the traffic. Overall the room itself needs some work.

Great spot I grew up on a bed and breakfast and have checked in hundreds of guests. Typically you have 2 minutes out of their whole stay to make them feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. It’s difficult to articulate but the opposite was true here (Le….). Tone etc. Made me feel like an inconvenience. I parked my car elsewhere in the end to avoid the extortionate parking fee but, 15 minutes after i arrived, was showering before heading out, I got a call saying I needed to move my car out of their lot… 15 minutes! I’m not a fussy person by any means but the initial interaction made me much more attentive to the flooding shower, the empty soap dispensers, paper thin walls and thin blinds (no curtains). At a super 6, this wouldnt be an issue, but for this price, you tend to expect a little more. Rest of my stay and interactions with other staff members was pleasant

This is a great value for your money. It is an aesthetic hotel. The rooms were clean and updated enough for me. It loses a star from me due to the room not having black out curtains and the lights outside the rooms staying on all night, it was very bright in the room all night. Also the water pressure in the shower was not very good. Otherwise great location, easy check in, nice staff, and cheap!

Location and great vibe Only donughts for breakfast, and we had a problem because my mom has slight mobility issues and the bed was so high she pulled a muscle trying to literally climb into bed . She had asked for a step stool but it was not provided till the following morning. Step stool should be readily available, or lower beds!

The location of this hotel and the concept behind it are great. I wanted to love it! Unfortunately, our room was in terrible condition. The chain lock was broken and the shower head was so clogged that it literally sprayed all over the entire bathroom. There was water damage all around the door and baseboards so it has clearly been happening for quite some time. The gap under the room door was sizable and allowed all of the road noise into the room. While the idea of the Thunderbird was fun, staying here wasn’t unfortunately.
- 4.5/5
The location was great. Central old Savannah was just a short walk away. Coffee, fruit juice and donuts for breakfast were great. Superb hotel with lovely friendly staff. Nothing
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay at the Thunderbird Inn. The retro vibe was cool, it is in a great location, and the price was unbeatable. The room was spacious and clean however the water pressure wasn't great and the shower curtain setup was such that water leaked onto the floor from a normal shower. If you are on the bottom floor it can feel a little less private as well. Complimentary donuts and coffee in the morning are a plus.

Staff was amazing. Very polite. Very accommodating. Check in was easy and quick. Theme was on point. Donuts were great. Nice to have coffee available 24/7 and not just a coffee pot. There were options for coffee flavor And cream. Nice touch! The WiFi was consistent. The room was spotless! I can’t say enough about how Much I love this motel! The bottom sheet kept coming off in the night. The bed had a bit of a squeak on one side. The bathroom Fan ran continuously so we had to keep The door shut but that wasn’t too off putting. I did have to place a hand towel over the sink drain because of a loud drip. None of these were enough to make me never want to stay again. They are minor issues that are fixable.

10/10 as always. This is my second time staying here in 6 months and, despite it only being for a few hours due to my incredibly delayed train, the bed was SO comfortable and I had a wonderful hot shower and night’s sleep. Will always recommend this place/stay here when on a trip to Savannah. Also shout out to the super kind guy holding down the fort at night! He even reassured me he’d watch me walk to my room to make sure I got in alright since it was 3am when I got there (young woman, traveling solo). That gesture made me feel very safe and I really appreciated it. I will be back!

this place was just what we needed and it was even better than advertised! the property was extremely dog friendly- they had a dog park and dog treats everywhere and other pets staying. they also had a free breakfast every morning that included fresh donuts from a local bakery. also very close to river street, just a 15 minute walk.

There were 2 hidden cameras in the apartment. It was terrible. I’m still waiting reimburse from the hotel, because I couldn’t stay there for sure.

It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room so we could have warmed up our leftover food from restaurants instead of throwing it away. The outside lights shine directly through the blinds, so for those who are light sensitive you don't get a good nights sleep. Need curtains on the windows over the blinds. It was VERY difficult to get a washcloth, and when we did the washcloths looked like they had been used as cleaning rags; tattered and dingy. On a positive note, all staff were very friendly and accomodating. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again, but would bring our own washcloths/scrunchy or something to bathe with, and we would remember there are no microwaves. Answered above
- 4/5
One thing to note: I didn’t see anything mentioning that parking needed to be reserved ahead of time, so we ended up parking on the street each night. It wasn’t a huge issue, but definitely something future guests should know — reserve parking in advance if possible. The breakfast was simple — donuts, coffee, and juice — but the donuts were delicious! They also leave MoonPies and RC Colas in each room for guests, which was a fun and cute touch. Overall, the place has some charming little perks, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. I didn’t have much interaction with the staff, so I can’t really comment on the service.
- 5/5
Such a fun, retro feel. Bed and rooms clean, night seating area and a mini fridge. The donuts and popcorn, lemonade and coffee were an extra treat. It was walkable to the local attractions and more affordable than some of the other hotels.

Character - 60s theme. Colorful and fun Location edge of town but still Close to all
- 3/5
We had two rooms. One was cleaner…although it needed maintenance. The other was dirty and needed ALOT of maintenance. Tiles falling off in bathroom. Rusty shower. Paint peeling from everywhere. Damaged trim. Could see light through cracks in windows and doors. Had to dust before using air conditioner so we didn’t inhale all of it. Bugs! Two roaches in room (not big ones, cause that’s how staff tried to justify it initially) Staff was pleasant. Donuts were great. Pics on here and website do not show true state of this motel.
- 4/5
Great location. Interesting theme. Free Donuts and coffee
- 4/5
Very clean room. I didn't have a pet, but they cater to and encourage pet owners (good for them). Retro rooms are great. Very comfortable bed. The only minus is the $25 a day parking fee. It makes the room price artificially low and just seems like a sleazy ploy. The room was worth the total price, it just made me think less of the owners.
- 4/5
I like the idea they are portraying but didn’t like how they didn’t have any bottled water for sale. We had to go down the road to a gas station and buy some there. Otherwise the place was clean and comfortable.

Parking was very convenient right in front of the door (if you’re lucky). It’s not assigned parking but there’s plenty of space. The room felt and smelled clean. Which is a big bonus because some places you can just feel and smell that it isn’t cleaned properly. The bed was incredibly comfortable and spacious. Unfortunately the only down side was the “continental breakfast “. We had a donut ,orange juice and coffee. I feel that it was a bit misleading putting that as “breakfast “. We specifically chose this place for the good location and that it supposedly had breakfast included. We were starving when we walked out the door. Bit of a bummer when you thought you were going to have breakfast and save money on having to go out and getting a meal but didn’t get breakfast so we had to go and get food anyways. I think they should remove that from the description or just clarify that with the customers.

Property was in a convenient location. The bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. You have to stream the television from your phone if you want to watch anything. Even though you park right by your room there is a $25 a night parking charge. Water pressure was horrible. This motel had more outside noise than any I’ve ever stayed in. Bring ear plugs. Also a man sat down outside our room and talked to himself and knocked on our door. Had to call the office at 1 am to ask for him to move.

I could not get the wifi to connect to my tablet any of the days. It seems like the staff cleaning should at least ask if you need toilet paper or a towel after a few days since they expect a tip. There was also a roach in the room which was gross.

The Thunderbird Inn IS the hippest hotel in Savannah and Wren IS the hippest employee! He is very chill and friendly. Wren offered excellent information about going downtown to River Street. Hubby enjoyed the retro style and the yummy donuts. The room was very clean and the bed/pillows were comfy. I appreciated the mini fridge .. much larger than most places. Shower was hot and pressure good. I liked that there were pump dispensers for shampoo/conditioner/moisturizer. It was the perfect walking distance to River Street and surrounding areas. I read a plethora of the reviews and I got to say, some people are just too picky or choose to be negative-focused. The bathroom exhaust fan that is always on was actually like a white noise machine and helped us to sleep better. We arrived on a Sunday (Mother’s Day) so traffic noise was minimal. I did hear more street activity the next morning after waking, but it didn’t keep me from having a restful sleep. (I brought earplugs after reading it could be noisy and didn’t need them). The $25 parking fee is a bargain. I searched the downtown hotels and they get $50 per night, plus you have to do valet. I much prefer to have my vehicle right outside my motel door for easy access. The Thunderbird Inn is a unique, budget friendly, clean motel. We had a wonderful stay and would return. I definitely recommend!

What a refreshing place to stay, such wo derful service, clean rooms, spacious and cute as could be. Really liked our stay, location a bit farther than we though from the waterfront. Overall I would recommend this place for sure and we will be repeat customers too.

Location in downtown Too noisy and doesn’t deserve the price. Parking is not free, $50 for animal. Sum up the money and you can stay in hotel with free parking and cheaper pet fee.

It’s starting to look a little dated and I mean that from when I originally stayed there several years ago . I understand it’s a throwback hotel but it’s not it’s nice and clean as it once was in my opinion. It’s not as fresh as it once was I think when you first stay there and everything is clean and new it’s very nostalgic and nice for the money. It’s OK, but I would not put it in my top list of Savannah spots however it’s worth a visit if you’re into the nostalgia of it all. The coffee, the donuts and the juice are nice, but that is a lot of sugar enjoy I would give it 3 1/2 out of five stars.
- 4/5
We were in town for a concert and were able to walk everywhere we went. This motel was the perfect location for concert. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I understand the motel is retro and I love that but a little maintenance could be done.

I can't say enough great things about this Inn. The room so clean it almost squeaked. The bed and pillows comfortable. The staff was friendly and acted like they were glad you were there. Every time I went into the office, I was greeted with a warm hello. They answered all my questions--and it seemed no bother at all. The Inn is decorated nicely--I'd even say Groovily! The Inn is located a block from a welcome center--something we took advantage of every day. I'm definitely booking it again when I go to that part of the country. Thanks Thunderbird Inn for being so gracious!

You have to love a sugar high in the morning. Diabetics beware, delicious doughnuts are the only breakfast item. Noise! Hotel faces a very busy road. Bring earplugs. Across the street from the bus station made the area feel sketchy at night. Facilities are showing their age. Not horrible but wear and tear.obvious.
- 3.5/5
Walking distance to most of the historic downtown area. Easy to drive to further destinations. Staff was great. Free donuts in the morning and popcorn during the day. Good price. On a main rd so traffic was a bit loud at times. No cable/satellite service so everything has to be streamed.

It’s a motel. Fun theme, but no amenities except coffee and donuts for breakfast and popcorn in the afternoons. The room was clean and comfortable, although some of the furniture was a little beat up. Good location, quiet at night. Very nice staff. $25 extra per night for parking.

Best hotel in Savannah!! I love the retro feel, the breakfast options, and that it's per friendly. They even have a small dog area!
- 3/5
Not a great breakfast. Donuts are not my preference for breakfast. But over all good location and staff friendly. However hotel was a little worn.
- 3/5
Cons: The 'Continental breakfast' is coffee and donuts, we're used to the usual fare of eggs/waffles/fruit/ etc. Parking was $25 a night and the TV situation is terrible. You must 'cast' you computer/phone to the TV to watch your streaming services. That wasn't clear in the description and was difficult, we don't watch a lot of TV, but my husband gets up much earlier than me and likes to watch the news. Would I stay there again, no. Would I recommend it for a night, sure.
- 0.5/5
We loved the location and ease of walking into the historic district. Dirty! Dirty ! Dirty! Very bad odor coming from ac unit. Couldn’t lock our door/ lock broken. Black mold in shower. Popcorn on mattress. Tissues stuck in broken peep hole. Was up most of the night itching. Only to discover bite marks on my body from bed bugs or fleas. When I reported to staff they informed me that maybe something happened over spring break but would have the exterminator come and check the room / bed. I tried to check the bed but the mattress was zipped into a protective cover. We also waited well after check in time because they said our room needed to be cleaned and there wasn’t another room available because we booked through booking.com. They would not refund our second night but offered us a different room. It smelled a little better but not good by any means. Our towels had holes and were torn apart. This hotel is awful and needs to be visited by the health department.

Cons: $25 per night to park in their own parking lot! Wow! No cable so no tv unless you download apps. What!? Super sugary donut for breakfast. Pros: love the retro look. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Everything within walking distance. Not super loud at night so able to sleep comfortably.

Literally nothing. BLACK MOLD in the bathroom, very visible and the whole room smelt so bad of mold that it's definitely been there for a long time. There was a hole in the shower, poorly fixed. The shower pressure was painfully high and uneven. The shower curtain did nothing to keep water from going all over the bathroom, no wonder the bad mold problem. Feet turn black walking on the floor. No TV unless you use a cast service and Netflix doesn't even support it. So we had nothing to watch. Has a fake hotel phone (or it just doesn't work) so couldn't call the front desk when needed and when I called the number on Google, took me to an answering machine that didn't say it was for this hotel. Parking is $25 addition. "Breakfast" is just donuts (so nothing for those with diabetes). The noise was awful from the road. They charge way too much for that many issues. Highly disappointed and would never stay here again or recommend to anyone. Assistant Manager was rude and defensive when I voiced my complaint, acting like the whole motel doesn't have mold and doesn't need to be seriously updated. Stay away!

The staff was very nice and welcoming. The property was clean. Breakfast was minimal but fine. One odd thing, you can only watch tv if you link to your own phone or tablet and your streaming service. They don't have free over the air channels. You are given a brochure claiming availability of over 200,000 shows, movies and songs. Sure, if you provide them via casting/mirroring. Not a huge deal but unusual.

Super cute , very country but fun! Loved it
- 4.5/5
Great location, quirky decor (including MoonPies on the pillow), excellent doughnuts for breakfast. We appreciated that the room was kept at a comfortable 70° with no input from us and no noisy window box. Would stay again!
- 4/5
Jackie, at check-in was awesome! Loved retro design! Good shower pressure. Walking distance to mostly everything. Dog friendly
- 4/5
I know this is a very confusing review, but I feel I got what I paid for. And, I cannot stress enough the friendliness & helpfulness of the staff.

Great location; great staff; great room; so unique!

Great spot to stay in Savannah Everything is a shot walk
- 5/5
Great location clean and fun. Staff is exceptional. Excellent location for concerts at Enmarket Arena. Walking distance to concert and downtown.
- 3/5
A lot of “gunk” in the air conditioner vents and dust in the lamp shade. The shower faucet is kind of gross looking. Easy to hear the people in the rooms next door. The fixture that should be where the door knob would be to stop someone coming into your room from the adjacent room was not attached and it was laying on the ground. The air conditioner was cool, bed was comfortable and the doughnuts were good.
- 4/5
Great location & great rates. Old hotel not fancy but clean, location location!
- 3/5
I don’t think it’s a great walking distance and room was very basic. Shower pressure was painful making showering a little torturous and it flooded the entire bathroom soaking all your towels each day. Staff did nothing to accommodate because they were fully booked. I never complain either but being able to shower is kinda the reason for a room.
- 3/5
Good place, outside noise, traffic, and dogs barking in the next room, trying to sleep
- 5/5
Clean room, great price, great location, great donuts!
- 5/5
Great stay for one night
- 2/5
The rooms were clean. The hotel wasn’t bad but there wasn’t breakfast like i was expecting, or like it says they have, it was just donuts. The wifi was pretty bad i lost connected dozens of times trying to cast movies on the TV. I had to literally pay $26 to keep my car in the parking lot of the hotel i paid to stay at which was ridiculous. wouldn’t stay here again or recommend.
- 4/5
decent 2 star hotel right IN the historic district. Everything is walkable from the motel. My only knock is that as a smoker, I don't particularly appreciate having the (smokers section) share with the (pet relief area)
- 3/5
Had areal good stay, only complaint would be the coffee machine was discussing and tv didn’t work
- 2/5
The Thunderbird Inn has a genuinely fun retro vibe and the bed was comfortable, but our stay was let down badly by room condition and maintenance issues. The floor was visibly dirty throughout our stay, and the walls had several marks on them — including a shoe print on the bathroom wall. The exhaust fan ran continuously all night with no way to turn it off, and the toilet chain kept getting stuck, requiring repeated manual fixes. After our first night, we flagged both the dirty floor and the wall marks to staff and asked for them to be addressed. When we returned to our room, nothing had been done. It's a shame, because the concept is charming and the location is great for Savannah. But at this price point, basic cleanliness and functional maintenance aren't optional. We wouldn't return unless standards noticeably improve.

What a deal for downtown Savannah. We had a quick stop and only in Savannah for 12 hours. Needed a quick stop to rest our heads. Staff and location were great. Room was clean. Bathroom tile needed some attention but we were very satisfied with this place. Fresh donuts from Baker’s Pride was the chef’s kiss to our send off early the next morning. Will definitely return for the value of our stay.
- 2/5
There is definitely a leak somewhere in the room from the upstairs that’s creating a moisture problem. The chairs in the room had mold spots on them. Dust on the lights and ac unit. The “breakfast” was glazed donuts & coffee the second day because they were out of coffee and I clean dishes. Overall the idea of the hotel is cute but needs some deep cleaning and more than donuts as breakfast. Staff was nice.
- 4/5
Great location as far as walking distance to broughton and river front. Area was a little rowdy all night long and you can hear it all. The staff was amazing and the donuts were to die for. The RC and moon pies were very nostalgic. They have done a great job at keeping it original. We seen people with pets so they are obviously pet friendly. Glad we’re stay for the experience if nothing else.
- 3/5
Chairs are torn, towels are worn and the room is generally cold and unwelcoming Bathroom fan is noisy and runs all night Can't beat the breakfast donuts and the coffee is great Location and parking are just fine Really want to like this hotel, but it's getting more difficult

Would stay again
- 5/5
Good location, walkable to things but away from the busier areas
- 4/5
Close enough to everything! The only issue was no cable tv and could not get the free wifi to hook up to our phones. Which was not a problem for me because i dont watch tv anyways. My husband is the one who had the issue with the tv. Within walking distance to downtown and River Street, which is what my goal was. The donuts were amazing! Fresh and huge! May be the best we have ever had! Rooms were nice! Bed was nice! Loved the RC colas and moonpies for sure! Loved the asstetics of the Inn! I would definitely book again, but if booking with bringing the hubby with me, i will definitely bring my ipad so he will have a bigger tv screen than his his phone since we could never get the wifi to connect. The evening staff was great for sure! Great customer service! The morning staff...they did not really care to speak to you when you went in the lobby to get your fabulous donuts and coffee. Missed out on the popcorn, but...gosh...it smelled so good the first afternoon when we checked in. Should have gotten a bag of it. I loved the place. My hubby, well, he loved it other than no cable tv and missing out on the popcorn. He absolutely LOVED the donuts! And coffee!
- 4/5
Staff were fabulous and super friendly! I loved not having to deal with valet parking as you do with most all hotels in downtown Savannah. The doughnuts were the BEST we have ever eaten and the popcorn and amenities in the lobby were so nice! The rooms were cute and the beds were super comfortable, but the rooms are a little rough around the edges and could use a few updates. The towels were kind of dingy and room could use some paint. The rooms are noisy and you can hear everything outside but it is fairly quiet all night so this wasn’t an issue until traffic started in the morning. All rooms face the road so I assume you hear the traffic in all of them. Overall a pretty good stay and I’d stay again!
- 3/5
Cons- The $25. Parking Fee - It was very loud at night and we could hear people outside partying. There is no tv, not even local (over the air) unless you can stream.
- 4/5
The room, bed and location were fine. The walls were thin because we could hear our neighbors talking without much difficulty. The outside lighting also showed through the windows pretty well and both made it a little difficult to get to get to sleep.
- 2/5
donuts are not breakfast fan in bathroom would not turn off - noisy paying for outdoor unprotected parking is outrageous
- 5/5
Better breakfast although the donuts were amazing! Yogurt, HB eggs would be great addition
- 3/5
Outside of the Property needs a little upkeep like repainting of floors and staircases. Rooms are quaint and decent. We had 3 nights and had no issues. Hotel is a little noisy as it is located as you exit a major interstate highway so during the day there is major traffic but that slows down toward the evening but picks right up around 6-7 am no matter the day. You get what you pay... it is decent, clean and comfortable. IT is not the Park Plaza or the Taj Majal.. it is essentially a better above normal travel motel as it was intended. IT is a cute Savannah souvenir.

Bathroom shower water would not stay in shower and soaked floor. Toilet seat broken. Please make sure the bathrooms are functional. Otherwise a good enough place to stopover briefly.

Great rate for clean room for short stay.

Great location, cool retro look. Room had strong bleach smell that took hours to dissipate broken toilet seat, and loud fan in bathroom you could not turn off. Also no working TV and $25 parking surprise.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean but the TV reception was a little wonky. But didn't really care because was not there to watch TV. The greatest issue was with the water pressure in the shower...or the lack thereof.

Worst experience ever. We got a room, bathroom light completely ripped out of wall. Phones didn’t work to call front desk. Got moved to a new room, bathroom door didn’t work/close properly, no insulation around outside door so cold wind blowing in all night, heater would kick in intermittently… the phone didn’t work either to call so when I called and tried to explain situation was shut up by clerk saying “can I get a word in?! The phones don’t work!!” I was disappointed from the get go, nothing nice to say about this experience.

Room was clean and perfect. The housekeeping ladies are kind and helpful. The woman working the front, I think her name was Crystal, she was not so kind. The hotels.com website for the hotel was misleading. The hotel is NOT .7 miles from Forsyth Park. There was not breakfast. Only donuts and coffee. Plus we had to pay $25 to park in which was not mentioned on the website

The room was clean and large! My favorite part of the stay was the reception area and the staff! I highly recommend this hotel for it's accommodating welcome. It's not just for retro lovers, it is close to all modes of public transportation. It is within walking distance to the Riverfront, great for the going's on at the enMarket arena. The city provides a bus service from near the civic auditorium to the arena for only $5 round trip (Jan 2026). The donuts at the reception area are included in your room rate and are the best donuts that I have EVER had! Wren at the reception counter is a GEM, so kind and helpful! There is another hotel that is called the Thunderbird Inn so make sure you get this one!!!!!

We loved the retro vibe. The room was nice, tidy, and very clean. Bed and pillows were comfy. There were a few snags that need fixing, such as the toilet paper holder and the shower liner not covering the back side area and allowed water to rush out.

The main thing that was frustrating was that you can’t set the AC below 69 so it wasn’t as cold as we wanted to sleep. There’s also no live tv or cable so you have to stream from apps your phone (if you can get it to work - half the time the wifi signal was too spotty to stream it). Having a simple antenna for live tv to see local weather and news would be nice like most hotel provide. Our room was by the stairs and the cleaning staff posted up there, so it was noisy with people talking outside early every morning. Parking is an additional $25/night as well. The biggest perk to staying here is being walking distance to museums and this side of historic downtown. For what you get at this price point, we prob will choose another hotel next time we visit Savannah.

i didn't take a shower b/c the shower basin had a shallow lip. Water would have been all over in the bathroom. The hotel description stated they served Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast. They did not. the front desk person laughed and said they hadn't in years. I booked this hotel b/c of it. There was no desk there was room for one. It was a cute hotel and clean.

A good place to take a shower, but not much else. The environment is very noisy-car doors slamming, loud music playing at night, traffic up and down the steps in the mornings. The website posts claims of continental breakfast, but the only thing served in the mornings with donuts, which were very good and coffee and juice. One of the staff members said they don’t know why they have that posted ( continental breakfast) on the website. The designated pet area is a plus. I would not stay here again.

The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The room was very cute and clean if not a little worse for wear (tears on the 2 seats in the room, minor scrapes and scratches on the furniture). I did not get the room I had booked - 1 king with a pull out, the shower did not have hot water in the evening (it did this morning) and the tv stopped giving sound after about an hour so we just went to bed. Haven’t had the breakfast yet but don’t have high hopes.

I love the retro design of this property. The oversized donuts, RC
- 1/5
Parking fee is outrageous -- an added 25% on top of the room rate. Front desk staff were rude. Room is not very clean and is fairly dingy -- furniture upholstery is ripped, paint is chipping everywhere, etc. The TV gets no channels, so they suggest you cast your own streaming services to it, but the wifi is entirely too slow for anything but a pixelated mess. The room gets a lot of noise from all sides, and with a busy road out front in a pet-friendly hotel (I had a yappy dog in a room nearby), that's a real problem. The light in the bathroom turns off if it does not sense movement -- like if you're in the shower -- every 10 seconds or so.
- 4/5
The room was nice and clean and the staff was helpful. The location was great for walking to downtown, just be aware at night as the bus station across the street can create an area to avoid at night. Very cute theming and an easy stay overall!
- 5/5
The room was very clean. You can tell it's an older motel but in pretty good condition, except our tp holder was broken. We came in contact with several staff members and everyone was extremely friendly. We didn't have a pet with us but it is pet friendly with treats at the front desk. We enjoyed hot chocolate, coffee and donuts. There was also popcorn provided in the lobby. I liked that they used real cups, silverware and plates instead of wastefully using paper everything. While coffee and fridges were provided in the rooms, there were no microwaves. There was one in the lobby though. Hooks for towels would have been helpful as well. We really enjoyed our stay and loved that we were provided a moonpie and RC cola 😀
- 4/5
It was very cute.
- 2/5
The hotel should inform possible consumers that there is no tv unless you can stream your own. It did not used to be that way there. I would have chosen different lodgings had I known.
- 4/5
Clean room, Donuts were fresh and delicious, more variety needed for breakfast. Enjoyed popcorn in evenings.
- 3/5
Older facility that has been updated but still on the older side. Staff was very nice. Doughnuts were amazing and coffee good. Room was clean. Doors make a lot of noise, some fixtures in the room a little worn out. Our initial room had wall lights that were out of service. Overall all very affordable with convenient parking on site and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Front end staff was wonderful! Homemade donuts and delicious coffee for breakfast plus funky 60s vibe of this hotel made it fun!
- 3/5
Adorable details like Moon Pies & RC in each room don't make up for a postage stamp bathroom or little things like the back of the bathroom door looking like it's never been wiped clean before. Staff was great, including when they had to bring a plunger to our room.

The bathroom is completely filling with steam after a shower, indicating the exhaust fan is non-operational. Also, the main room's air conditioning unit is discharging black particles/debris which have settled on nearby surfaces. The unit requires immediate service and cleaning, as this poses a potential air quality and health concern. The reception was friendly and so helpful. Juice, coffee, tea, and fresh donuts serve for breakfast. Location was great.
- 3/5
The location was great the 25 dollar a day parking was not very nice and the tv didn’t work.
- 5/5
super cool vibe! Very easy check in with a friendly staff!
- 2/5
We used to love to stay here on our way through Savannah because it was affordable, simple, and clean! But not anymore!! The property has become very run down - holes/rips in the chairs, tiles missing in the bathroom, rusted mini fridge, disgusting baseboards and walls. The only thing that seemed truly clean was the bed and sheets!
- 3/5
Definitely get what you pay for.
- 4/5
However, it was constantly noisy due to the busy road in front. Also, the bathroom fan was quite loud, and I couldn’t find a switch to turn it off. Additionally, having better blackout curtains would make the stay even more enjoyable.
- 5/5
Clean room, Kind staff, Very close to downtown area! Best part of the place was the excellent service and 24 hour complimentary drinks/snacks. Nothing better than coming back to the room and grabbing a cup of hot cocoa before bed, and having your first cup of morning coffee and a donut just a few steps from your door! We’ll definitely be staying here again and recommend this place for a nice weekend getaway!
- 5/5

Nice older hotel. Good location
- 4/5
Cool theme, good location, but some of the "retro" elements just felt old. Bathroom light was on a motion sensor so the lights turn off when you get in the shower.
- 1/5
After seeing other reviews, I feel like I was in a different place. Room key did not work. Key also failed multiple times the following day. Room not that clean and showed lots of wear. Electrical outlets around sink did not work. Clerk at check out was extremely rude.
- 2/5
No TV, you have to stream your own. The blow dryer didn’t work well not hot no power, no water pressure in the shower. The bathroom light flickered on and off.
- 4/5
Staff was nice. The doors to the rooms need to be resealed can hear all the traffic outside.
- 5/5
Nice ambience. Shower was leaking and the body lotion dispenser was broken.
- 3/5
Very slightly removed from things but that’s built into the price so no issues there at all. Super strong bleach smell in the room which is not ideal and the pass through door to the room next door did not have a lock which bothered me … decent spot to land for me for the night but I wouldn’t want to stay with my family.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful

Clean room, wonderful for pets, friendly staff, within walking distance to everything.
- 3/5
Super cute exterior and in a safe area. However it was very loud we could hear traffic outside of our room on the street into the night. Also, our room had an adjoining door to the room next to it and not a lock for us to lock them out which kinda freaked us out. Decent place for a more affordable option.
- 5/5
The folks were friendly, the room clean, and the location perfect. It was like going back in time, quite charming!
- 5/5
The Motel was clean and in walking distance of Downtown. The staff were kind and efficient.

The decor is so cool. Best pillows I ever slept on! I need the brand name. Clean, safe and comfortable room with nice staff. The only reason not a 5 star was the bathroom fan would not cut off and drove me crazy at night. Thank you.
- 5/5
Great retro motel! In walking distance of Downtown and River Street. The staff were kind and efficient. Rooms were clean and properly stocked. Will definitely stay here again!
- 3/5
Bathroom was very small & dated. They have zero cable tv-you have to connect to the Wi-Fi & use your phone to watch anything. The process of watching tv was a pain. The bed was uncomfortable. It was convenient to walk downtown Savannah & wasn’t my worst experience but will pick a different hotel next time visiting.
- 5/5
Groovy place. Fun vibe. Loved the moon pie shtick. Nice bed. Not trying to be something they aren't. Very clean and friendly staff.
- 5/5
The staff and other visitors were so friendly. The room was crisp and clean. The bed was really comfortable and the room was quiet. They even left us a couple RC Colas and Moon Pies. That was a good surprise. I’m definitely going to stay here the next time I’m in Savannah.

- 3/5
Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping very noisy talking loudly outside rooms very early. They were nice but very very loud.
- 5/5
Staff were curtesy and helpful. Thanks!
- 5/5
!!!
- 4/5
The hotel was great for a clean, friendly no frills place to stay! The room was colean. The bed was comfortable. And the staff was great! But it was no frills!
- 4/5
The room was clean and cozy. The staff tremendous and very helpfuland made you feel like friends. The donuts and pastries delicious but the coffee was lacking.
- 4/5
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The property is off of a busy street so there is noise throughout the night. The theming of the property is very fun. We will be staying here again when in the area.
- 5/5
Staff was fantastic, very friendly.
- 5/5
Location was good, all walkable distance. We liked the retro vibes, free popcorn and coffee.
- 3/5
Very nice staff, adorable retro decor, renovated. It’s just on a busy street and you can hear the street noise but it’s priced well for a central location.
- 5/5
The room was fresh and clean with rc and moonpies by the bed. Fun ,relaxing, popcorn and the pretty donuts talk to my heart. I had a small issue and it was resolved instantly. I really love this place! They think about how important the little things mean!
- 5/5
Had a great stay.
- 5/5
What we mainly loved was the smell of a clean room. Also, they left a couple of cans of local sodas and local cake in the room for us. And the staff was very very friendly. We loved the place.
- 4/5
Pretty basic room, but everything was clean. It is an easy walk into the historic District from the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a bit of street noise.
- 4/5
Parking was easy, but it cost $25. Most people were happy with the donuts for breakfast, but we wanted something healthier
- 5/5
Such a cool hotel and really great folks at the front desk! Super convenient to walking the town- don’t miss out on the donuts, coffee, popcorn and lemonade in the lobby!
- 5/5
Funky place that is lovingly cared for. Desk staff were personable and professional. I had a temperature/thermostat issue and they did their best to address it. Walking distance from so many things. If you are a walker this is the perfect starting point, and the city dot bus comes a block away. If you want plush, this isn’t the place. I’ll return.
- 5/5
Great place for the price and clean.
- 5/5
The room was extremely clean and the staff very nice. We like this hotel and feel like this would be a good place to stay in the future.
- 5/5
It was a fun experience
- 3/5
Room was clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. We could not get the tv to work, and the chain to lock the door was missing. Overall, we had a good stay but I wish their tv situation was better.
- 5/5
The place was perfect for a quick stay, convenient location to many restaurants and shopping
- 5/5
Loved the vibe of this hotel for a recent girls trip with my best friend! Staff was amazing! Room was clean and so cute with the RC colas & moonpies when we arrived! Easy parking and very confidently located to everywhere we planned to visit. Felt extremely safe & we had no issues with noise. I’ve stayed at all kinds of places in Savannah and would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
No full breakfast was avaliable but there where donuts and coffee available. The rooms where bright and clean the HVAC system kept the room confertable. All the staff was friendly and helpful
- 3/5
Just doughnuts, staff friendly tried to watch tv had to download app, unsuccessfully room was clean
- 5/5
The room was clean and smelled clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. I just loved the nostalgic vibe. They have RC cola and Moon Pies in the room for you. Popcorn and lemonade in the lobby. The breakfast they had went above my expectations. They were fresh and gourmet style. Apple fritters too We brought our dog and even she got a special wrapped big biscuit. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely would recommend staying here.
- 4/5
Cool hotel with retro vibe. Made for a fun stay for a short trip to Savannah. Free doughnuts and the moonpies around the property were a fun touch. Staff were all friendly and you are a quick walk or a cheap Uber to local attractions. Beds were super comfortable, but the small sitting area in the room was not very comfortable or functional. My only caution is that the air conditioner in the room was not able to keep the room very cool. I would not return in warm months. We asked the desk for assistance and the maintenance person directed us to use a boost option on the unit, however, that only stays on for a couple of minutes at a time, leaving us having to reactivate this option every 10 minutes or so...not very helpful. Overall, enjoyed the stay, but would not return.
- 5/5
This was our second time staying at the Thunderbird Inn. The rooms are always clean and the beds are really comfortable. The donuts at breakfast are fresh and giant. We will be back!
- 5/5
Todo fue muy limpio el desayuno no tiene opciones para personas diabéticas o celiaticas
- 5/5
The staff was so friendly. We got there earky and room wasn't ready but she offered to call me when it was. Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Donuts for breakfast were phenomenal. Just a note on the TV. No channels, you can cast streaming from your phone though. No hair dryer either. RC Cola and moonpies in the room was a fun touch. Great price would stay again.
- 5/5
Was a great stay we will definitely be back
- 4/5
Unbalanced breakfast
- 4/5
Property is located next to section 8 housing, but overall fine for a 1 or 2 night stay
- 4/5
The room is very noisy and the mini split doesn’t cool the room. Also, the steps upstairs need to be power washed. There’s wads of hair and yuck on them.
- 4/5
Good for rest stop. Close to River front walking distance. No cable TV service. Have to stream from phone to TV
- 5/5
Unexpected gem!! Will stop in again!
- 5/5
Great room. Best donuts ever!
- 3/5
Room was very clean. Poor water pressure in the shower. Bath products were full, but the dispensers didn’t work so you couldn’t use anything. Bath mat had 2 large holes in it. Towels were fine. Staff member at check in was not friendly and barely spoke above a whisper. Other staff that we encountered were pleasant and cheerful. Too lengthy a process to watch tv. Download 2 separate apps etc. Street noise very loud at night.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, will definitely recommend to others and stay again
- 4/5
The property and staff were great, but I didn't appreciate the 25$ parking fee to reserve a spot in a lot with about 20 open spaces
- 2/5
They charge $25 for parking. Had I known that I would have just stayed somewhere nicer. Also the “included breakfast” is just a donut.
- 1/5
Showed up at 11 am.to drop bags for our 3 oclock check in was told at 3pm that they had laundry issues all day and all check ins will be delayed until further notice. Without letting us know prior to 3pm. Apon waiting for a few hours in the lobby 3 other couples walked in made reservations at the counter and immediately were accommodated. Me my husband and one other mixed raced couple sat and watched several people taken care of before us. Didnt get into room until around 530 and had to cancel our 430 dinner reservation. Next morning was greated by very rude desk lady named leslie when asking if i could pay for another night she abruptly cut us off and told us noon is the best she could do for us. Honestly the only person who was nice to us was the young lady who worked from 4pm until 11pm. We will not be suggesting this place to any of my friends or family.
- 2/5
Staff were freindly and the place was clean. We had a check-in time for 3pm but when we got there, we had to wait an hour and a half to be able to fully check in due to their drying machines not working. The place is in a bad spot as well. Throughout the night we kept hearing people screaming outside and there are a lot of homeless/drug addict people in the area. We did NOT feel safe here and We will NOT be staying here again. ESPECIALLY with our baby. I hate to leave a bad review but its just what it is.
- 5/5
This hotel is very pet friendly. The room was clean and nice. The bed was very comfortable.
- 3/5
Good value but On Main Street so noisy. Nice staff and good value.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the vibe was just so neat. I found the staff to be incredibly friendly and the location was very convenient to everything I wanted to do.
- 5/5
My flight got cancelled the day of the start of my reservation and rebooked for the next morning, they were incredibly kind and understanding and were able to honor the rest of my reservation. The staff is very nice, every interaction with them feels like talking to a family member. The retro aesthetics of the place are refreshing, it is also as clean as it is good looking. The rooms are nice and the difference between the GA summer sun and the comfort of your room is very noticeable and a nice addition to its central placement. Perfect if you plan on walking a lot. We plan on coming back soon!
- 4/5
Needs an update
- 2/5
However, the thin. windows and the hotel's proximity to the street meant you could hear every car or bus (located across from the main city's bus stations) that passed. I did not sleep well and neither did my co-worker. Everything else was great but if you can't sleep or stay sleep, how good is the stay really?
- 5/5
My husband and I absolutely loved the Thunderbird Hotel. The room smelled freshly clean when we entered it. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We would 100% stay here again.
- 5/5
Staff was great, friendly, helpful. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Loved that extra blankets were available in room.
- 4/5
Very old school motel vibes. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Wasn’t thrilled with paying $25 to park a day after paying for the room. Front desk staff was nice. Good location to walk to shops / bars / restaurants. Does have some sketchy looking areas nearby but you don’t need to walk that direction to get to anything.
- 4/5
The staff are great, especially Crystal she helped us out with getting a very early cab.The room needs a little tlc . Great staff
- 5/5
A very cute hotel. Great for a one or two night stay. It is a little noisy with the bus station right across the street.
- 4/5
Very reasonably priced near historic district
- 5/5
The inn was very clean and staff was very friendly
- 4/5
Within walking distance to lots including River Walk. Loved the retro decor/feel. Casting TV was a new experience, but we weren’t in the room a lot so we didn’t watch much tv. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
10/10 all around! We stayed here for a night and it was the best experience! Very clean, the staff was friendly, the bed was very comfortable, the atmosphere was great, the location was great, and the donuts were delicious! Highly recommend staying here!
- 5/5
Such a cool vibe. Great place!!
- 4/5
No microwave in the room but they have one in the lobby along with the juice ( watered down , don't recommend) and the popcorn. Also green so no plastic utensils, and no hot breakfast so they just had spoons for your coffee. Loved how they played oldies music right outside. Also loved how it was only an 8 minute walk to the historic downtown. Hotels and inn in the district were at least $100 more. There was a fight at 3:30 in the morning that woke me up and the police were called. Took me forever to try to fall back to sleep. Just my luck, nothing against the hotel.
- 5/5
Such a nice and nostalgic stay! The rooms are retro and beautiful. I took my pet as they have an outdoor space for him. In the mornings there’s fresh donuts and coffee. Will come back!
- 4/5
Only thing negative was that tv was thru your phone. Not doable for 80 yr olds.
- 5/5
Fun place to stay. Rooms are comfy and great snacks!
- 3/5
Very dated with maintenance issues in the room, but clean comfy with friendly staff.
- 4/5
We really like the Thunderbird. The location is great, the people are very nice, and you don't have to use valet parking. The rooms seem clean overall, but the one we stayed in could use a deep cleaning.
- 3/5
The motel is right on a major street and was very loud day and night. Only television was hooking up to your personal streaming service. We also saw nothing about paying for parking in the reservation system. Only breakfast option was a donut. Most of staff was friendly, but one was very short and snappy. It’s a cute place though.
- 5/5
Super cute. Lovely staff
- 1/5
Positive first. Friendly staff, good donuts. Negative; $25 per night for parking, no microwave in room, overpowering smell of bleach, one coffee cup and no channels on tv. I had to stream Netflix from my phone to watch ANYTHING. I might expect this for $50, but it was $150. Easily one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed.
- 3/5
Externally, the building is somewhat shabby. Room is clean and quite adequate. On Expedia, the listing says all taxes and fees included in the quoted price, so I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that I had to pay a $25 fee for a parking space in a parking lot that is open to the street and offers no particular security for customers’ vehicles. Really disappointed. It feels like a bait and switch. I certainly will not use this property again.
- 5/5
The room was very clean. The staff was very friendly. Would definately stay again. The dogunuts were awesome!!! Pets are very welcomed.
- 3/5
This is a cute place and was fine for one night after a long road trip. However, it is $25 to park (which was not mentioned when I booked) and there is an extremely noisy fan in the bathroom that will not turn off. When we mentioned it to the staff she just said, "yeah, the best thing is to close the bathroom door!" The theme is cute and it is giving "old fashioned motel" vibes...but it needs some updating :-)
- 4/5
Comfortable
- 4/5
Everything was great with the value that I got from this place. Like they say, nostalgia really does live here so it was cool to relive an era we don’t really see anymore. My only feedback is that the mini fridge don’t really cool anything down and the power outlets didn’t really charge that fast. My computer was plugged in for several ours and only went up 15%.
- 3/5
Unique property, great retro feel, friendly staff, clean. Fee for parking was high, and alot of road noise. The night we stayed there were loud neighbor's and sketchy activity. Great donuts and coffee. Comfortable beds.
- 5/5
Nice place for a short stay, quiet and clean. At walkable distance from the historic area. Recommended.
- 5/5
Was welcomed warmly to this little folksy motel/inn. However wasn’t ready for the interior condition. Not clean or well kept. It’s a colorful place but be ready for not manicured. The historic district location is hard to beat though.
- 5/5
The ThunderBird In is a blast to stay at, rooms are perfect. The parking fee is very reasonable and totally understandable. Will definitely be going back.
- 2/5
Bare bones motel. Change for parking your car. Sheer curtains let light in a break of day. No TV service.
- 5/5
My husband said it was the most unique place we ever stayed.
- 5/5
We have doctors in Savannah. Its much easier to come up from Brunswick for a very early morning appt. We've wanted to stay there and were not disappointed. The staff is great, beds very comfortable, wonderful coffee and popcorn in the evening. We'd stay there again.
- 5/5
Loved this place. Clean, retro, updated rooms.
- 4/5
Fun few days at TBird Inn. Retro hotel nearctrolley stations. Convenient to historic district. Rooms clean, not fancy but for the price, clean room and comfy bed works for me. Shower could use more pressure. Fonuts in morning yummy treat.
- 2/5
You have to pay to park. Not in a garage or valet or anything, you pay to park in front of your room.. i think that sucks
- 3/5
The TV was
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. Everyone was nice
- 3/5
I don't think I'll go back, Very clean room.
- 4/5
The room was very comfortable and the Wi-Fi worked well for a work meeting that I had. I loved the retro touches.
- 4/5
I really liked the look of it . The moon pies and RC colas in the room were fun. Great donuts in the morning. Air conditioning was great. Only complaint was that our room key deactivated a couple times. I had to go get it reactivated. It wasa little noisey being close to the road and its a bit of a walk to get to restaurants etc. Overall i liked it and would stay again.
- 3/5
Way over hyped and over filtered pics. Room was gross and worn out. AC was ok but understandable since it was summer temps. Parking was overpriced. No pool. It is just an old motel with some paint slapped on it. Just find another place unless this place is the cheapest and you are on a budget.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
This was a fun place and we will def be back!! One night was not enough. I'm not a fan of paying to park but I get it in this area. The fun decor and great staff made this a fun stay.
- 5/5
Really committed to the Retro theme which was very fun! Cute details and the breakfast donuts, coffee and free fresh popcorn a hit! Really enjoyed the music playing all day around the lobby too. Easy to walk around the area for meals & shopping, great value for money! Lovely friendly staff too!
- 5/5
The bathroom has some cracks in the shower that need to be addressed. The room is clean
- 5/5
Very clean room. Employees very nice. Enjoyed the coffee and donuts.
- 4/5
Love the vintage look and feel.
- 5/5
We loved this place and will be back
- 5/5
Fun retro place wirh freindly staff and clean comfy beds
- 2/5
It was ok
- 5/5
Consigliatissimo
- 5/5
Thunderbird was spectacular! The coffee and donuts in the morning were A++. Looking forward to my next visit.
- 1/5
Due to unforeseen circumstances on the day of checkin I was unable to make the trip. Hotels.com tried to help to get the cost refunded but Thunderbird Inn refused to do a waiver. Your agents were helpful in this process however Thunderbird Inn was not. I could not have cancelled sooner as the circumstances occurred while I was on my way to check in.
- 4/5
Enjoyed my overnight stay. Convenient walking distance to most things. Room was comfortable although it shows some wear and tear.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and bright. The beds were comfortable and the RC Cola and mini moonpies were a lovely touch. It is an older, retro building so there is outside noise but it's a great spot for a short stay.
- 3/5
The staff was friendly and accommodating the AC was a pain in the neck. You could adjust the temperature, but it would only hold for 4 hours. The exhaust fan in the bathroom stays on 24/7 and drips water because it is so humid in the room, because the AC doesn't run enough to reduce the humidity. Rental of the unit was very inexpensive compared to other hotels, and we were only staying two nights, so overall it was a bargain.
- 3/5
Although the room was clean, the floors were always damp. Not sure if it was due to the product used to clean them or not.
- 4/5
Clean motel. The retro vibe was pretty cool!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Everything was great. It was very hot outside and the air conditioning was not working at the optimal temperature but after the sunset the temperature was better. Also, the staff was very helpful about it and offered to move us to another room and also got us a portable box fan. The only thing that bothered me and I didn’t like that they charge their guests $25 per night for parking.
- 5/5
Staff are great and super nice! Room is clean but the shower leaked water out because the part that was suppose to contain the water is super shallow and the shower curtain was short so water just leaked out into the toilet area.
- 3/5
Okay experience for a family of 4. We won’t stay again thought. The walls are incredibly thin, so we could hear the tv and conversation in the next room. We also kept getting someone else’s phone signal projected onto our TV mid show, happened 5-6 times every night. The bed was fine, shower was fine and although the hotel has been updated cosmetically, it hasn’t been updated structurally.
- 4/5
The popcorn and donuts were a nice touch but no to go cups for coffee if you wanted one ‘on the go’. The bed was spotless and very comfortable. No tv unless you wanted to watch an app on your phone via the television. Disappointing for my husband as he likes to watch tv shows. Paying $25 a day for parking at the hotel as we had to Uber everywhere, was pricey considering the cost of the hotel too. Trying to park anywhere in Savannah is a nightmare. The doors and walls in our room could have used a wash, the chairs had rips and some stains and the water pressure could have used a boost but other than that, we were treated well and the staff was lovely. This hotel is close to everything so if you can overlook a couple of issues, not a bad place to stay. We were on the first floor so the blinds had to stay closed and cars pulling in and out was a little bothersome so staying on the second floor would be my choice if we stay here again.
- 5/5
Great staff and clean room for a good price
- 4/5
Comfortable stay in throwback motel
- 5/5
amazing place to stay! amazing donuts!
- 5/5
What a great surprise this hotel was. It was charming, clean and so unique. I loved it.
- 5/5
Great spot!
- 5/5
The donuts for breakfast were amazing!! So many choices!! We took apple fritters but there was the biggest jelly donut i ever saw staring at me and i passed. Coffee was excellent also. Very short walk to almost everything. Loved the park at your front door concept! Will definitely be back. Front desk supurb !!!
- 5/5
This property was retro. The staff was amazing and very friendly. They were able to offer an amazing dining option as well. They have a cute little pet area and a decent pet fee. If ever in Savannah, we will stay there again. Oh and dont forget the RC Cola and Moonpies.
- 5/5
We loved staying at the Thunderbird Inn! The staff was very friendly, they welcomed our dogs and the room was very clean. We loved the retro theme too!
- 4/5
We had a quick 2 nights in Savannah and the hotel was convenient to many restaurants, the trolley, and a shuttle to enmarket arena. The other reviews were pretty much spot on. The AC doesn't get the room cold and our keys didn't work twice, I had to get them reprogrammed, but the room was clean and the quaint touches made it an unforgettable stay!!
- 5/5
Great staff, clean rooms and bedding. Yummy donuts and coffee in the lobby each morning❤️
- 5/5
I’d defined come back. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Was actually nicer than I anticipated! Great vibe. Couldn’t ask for more from a nice little hotel.
- 3/5
However it is noisy as it is close to the highway and the room was a little mildewy. Could use a little upkeep in the bathroom, dirty vent and cracked tiles. Beware the $25 fee for parking and $50 for pets!
- 5/5
We will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
I loved the vintage feel of the hotel. The free donuts and coffee in the morning were a big plus! We brought my dog and she enjoyed walking around the dog walk area. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Room was clean and in pretty good condition. Obviously not brand new but nothing that would prevent a future stay. Downtown is walkable, but you are on the edge of town. Pet area was adequate for our dog. It was more than enough for it's purpose.
- 5/5
- 5/5
A revived piece of history. So appropriate for Savannah.
- 5/5
The ladies at the registration were extremely kind. Crystal was very kind and the other ladies. We separate 3 rooms, all clean, good bed, comfortable, and a lot of amenities. Coffee, donuts, moon pie, pop-corn, lemonade Etc......
