Location, service, pool Housekeeping does not come everyday, pool was dirty because of the holiday. But it needs to be scrubbed everywhere.

Absolutely loved everything except for the light switches. There were so many light switches in the room. We didn’t know what light went to which switch. Also kind of weird to have the bathtub in the shower wasn’t really a fan. Favorite thing was watching the ships come through the river. If you can get a view of the river absolutely 100% worth it.

The place was well appointed and the staff was pretty friendly. Loved the overall vibe of the hotel and its proximity to everything. The property oversold the room type i originally booked and that was a disappointing experience. While they did try ro recover the issue. It still was not the full experience.

The room was super nice even with a dog, the view was nice facing the river and the restaurant was very yummy. Staff wonderful

Excellent staff. Courteous and very helpful. Corner room was clean and spacious with a great view of the river. Best amenity they offer is car service. Call the number provided and after a short wait you are picked up at the hotel and taken anywhere within a 3 mile radius. When you’re done sightseeing just call the number and they will pick you up and take you back to the hotel. Amazing! We did have breakfast one morning and it was delicious and plentiful. The next time we visit we will stay at the Thompson Savannah.

We had a slight hiccup with the room due to a housekeeping issue but it was immediately resolved and we were moved. The staff is absolutely amazing here and they go above and beyond. We had breakfast and drinks at Bar Julian and it was great. We took advantage of the free ride into town which was a plus! Amanda’s map was so well thought out and we really got an opportunity to really see the town. Stellar service from Amanda, MaKayla, Kevin, Justin and the sweetest bartender in the pool area which I forgot to get her name. Although Thompson is a little bit out of the way, we were able to navigate it with no problem and would happily return.

This was my second time staying at this property and it was just as great this time around. Friendly and accommodating staff, very clean and very walkable with my dog. Nice to have a restaurant on property for ease of dining with my pet. We were just stopping over for a night on our road trip back home and it exceeded my expectations.

Excellent stay! Fantastic hotel. I feel my husband and I could be brand ambassadors to the Thompson hotels but we absolutely love the Savannah Thompson!!! Staff wonderful and on the ball, room upgrade upon check in, beautiful corner river view room. Complimentary cold beer upon check in. Tesla hotel car was again super bougie and convenient. We enjoyed the lobby bar drinks and food, numerous times, Restaurant Fleeting first night and Bar Julian, breakfast, late nite bite, and lunch twice! Room service Espresso all four mornings. GREAT staff!!! Oh and we ended up grabbing the free bikes when our flight was delayed for several hours and ran around the city super fun!!! Just a fantastic hotel and staff. Great experience!

The Thompson has a great location away from the tourist section, but completely walkable to the area. Great place to start and end a run. We love the view from the rooftop bar and watching the container ships and tugboats pass by. The gym area wasn't as clean as the rest of the hotel. It was messy and unkempt. We would like a coffee machine in the room instead of going down the stairs.

Really liked the location, a little bit of a walk to downtown, but the riverwalk was a lovely way to get there! “Rooftop”-ish pool was beautiful at night. Wish there would have been a hot tub, but otherwise no complaints!

Room was not cleaned for 2 days. Maid applied the "do not disturb sign" back on our door after we intentionally removed it and placed it in our suitcase to ensure service. She removed it from our luggage and put it back on the door to make it seem like we "did not want service". This was fraud to both the client (myself) and her employer (Hyatt Luxury Collection - Over $600 per night). The room was also dusty and the room did not have a steamer, as listed as an ammentiy. We made 4 calls to the front dest asking urgently for a steamer or iron. This did not show up until it was too late. The hotel is critically understaffed, and NONE, and I MEAN NONE, of the maids (except the executive housekeeper) spoke one single word of English. The complimentary coffee in the morning in the lobby was COLD. There are no coffee makers in the room. This was also reported and instead of fixing the issue, they just removed the pots. This was reported to several people, and NO ONE took responsibility for this matter. This hotel was severely understaffed, and phones were never answered, and guest complaints were ignored. The room was covered in dust. Do not go here. The Front Desk Manager was exceedingly rude, and Hyatt Headquarters was equally rude - promising an inquiry into the incident and calling me with a result by EOB today. NO CALL. DON'T GO HERE. Valet parking is also $52 per night, otherwise street parking is available if you pay the meter on time; however 2/3 meters are broken.

Hotel felt a bit dirty. There was a make up stain on my pillow case when we first arrived in the room. The elevator floors were sticky and needed a good cleaning. Staff was friendly.

Enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable and quiet. Property was very clean. Location was perfect, just a little off from the riverfront area. Love that our dog was able to stay for free.

Its a little out of the way from the city but still close enough. They have a free ride service you can book for a 3 mile radius but will have to call ahead to book. Unfortunately my timing never worked out so i still ubered around during my stay. The hotel is right in front of a cute little park and the river walk so its about a 10 minutes walk to the river street!

Great hotel! The rooms are very nice and clean, The shower is huge and the view of the Savannah River and all the barges that go by is exceptional. They offer a car service within in 3 miles and the drivers are very knowledgeable and friendly.

They over charged me from my booking.

Staff were great. The rooom was pretty dusty and the bed had alot of hair in it from the previous person. I was very disappointed in the room size for over $600. Like i said staff were great. Just not worth that much for what i got.

We liked the river view. We did not like the tub shower. The glass door only opened on one side making it awkward to turn on the water only when standing in the tub. Should have walk in showers at the level/price of hotel. Parking is a pain if you opt for the street parking. Staff at the roof top were not friendly, we left the roof top and ate downstairs and found our waitress to be exceptional.

I didn’t receive any free breakfast or was never told about it. I would have given this hotel 5 stars but then I got a $111 bill for parking but I was never told that they charge for that. I would never agreed to them valet my car for the night.

Room wasn’t ready, 45 minute wait for breakfast, begging housekeeping for service and $7 room service delivery charges are all part of the VIP experience at this overpriced pretentious hotel. The highlight of the experience is bell staff and front desk who are abandoned by their manger who hides in the shadows while the young staff fields complaints. Proof that not all youth of today are snowflakes. Thanks to the courageous young guys in the front and a food and beverage manager working all day on Thanksgiving who all stepped up when others cowered.

The Thompson Savannah does everything right, from the beautifully decorated rooms, comfortable bedding, and all the amenities. All the staff were friendly and extremely professional. Hands down one of the nicest places I have stayed at.

Major drawback is parking which is limited and extra. Hotel is a brisk 15 to 20 minutes walk from main downtown area. Restaurant has great views but very limited dessert selection. Prices were high but not outrageous

My room was not serviced, wasn’t offered a beer at check in, but nephew who checked in next to me was.

Clean, view was nice Bed was hard. Parking was scarce. Had to pay for parking. Should be cheaper with stay at hotel or verified.

I usually cannot stay at pet-friendly properties due to my allergies, but I did ok. The hard surface floor made it clean. The staff is very kind and friendly and my husband loved the beer upon arrival. It's the small things right? The location of the property is on the east end of the river walk and worked out great, as far as noise level. I would stay here again but I'd ask for a higher floor non pet room for sure. Nice hotel with great staff!

We loved the views from having a high floor corner room. Our room was exceptionally clean as well as the entire property. Bar Julian was so wonderful for drinks, food & excellent service! Having the car service available to drive us into town was a great perk! Highly recommend this hotel!

The property is actually STUNNING. The pictures don’t even do it justice. Felt like I was staying in a super upscale hotel while the price is not upscale which was unexpected! I didn’t interact with the staff much except for the valet guys and they were ALL always friendly, and gentlemanly. Rooms are gorgeous and very clean. With everything you need and then some. The beds are a little firm for our taste but everything else supersedes that. They are also very pet friendly! Our frenchie enjoyed all the attention! Beds were a little firm for our taste. That’s literally it :)

The only issue I had was that their wasn't a top sheet between the bed sheet and duvet cover. I am not a fan of having to use the same one that every other guest uses...there was a stain on it - very unhealthy

I was disappointed in the fact that they use DISH for TV. When the storm came in there was no TV. Not necessarily bad for me I just watched the storm but kids may have problems. Also very limited channels unless you are a sports fan. I am not. Very disappointed. Also bring plenty of charging blocks. Not enough plugs for all devices. Luckily I did. Staff were a delight.

I came here for 5 days. I had a work meeting and then a girls trip tacked onto the end. This hotel had amazing staff, the pool is perfect! The rooftop bar has amazing views. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Many people I traveled with said they wished they had booked here instead of their hotels. I would 1000% recommend this hotel.

The receptionist the man with long yellow hair They take 160$ from my credit I do not know why. Even I did not use anything , even water!! . The second thing the baskets were not clean enough. No good breakfast. Very small pool.

The walk to downtown was too long and I drove my car. But parking downtown was cheap so no problem.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms with view of the river. Local welcome beer was a great touch. Rooftop was gorgeous but gets busy, go early for sunset. Fleeting was delicious, however their cacio e Pepe wasn’t really cacio e Pepe at all, more an entirely different pasta dish. Still delicious. Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms with view of the river. Local welcome beer was a great touch. Rooftop was gorgeous but gets busy, go early for sunset. Fleeting was delicious, however their cacio e Pepe wasn’t really cacio e Pepe at all, more an entirely different pasta dish. Still delicious. The concierge was very knowledgeable of the entire city and always had answers for all our questions. She even offered additional information and ideas. A lovely experience for a great Mother/daughter getaway. We will return and tell our friends about Thompson Hotel Savannah.

The bar is way over priced. Present guests with dirty disgusting overly worn menus. Had to request coffee pods for the coffee maker multiple times. Riverfront rooms can hear the cargo ships from the river all night long. Beds are very uncomfortable.

Cleanliness

The place was very nice, clean, and my room had the view of the water. It was at the end so I came out the door made a left right on to the river walk. I only had breakfast on the rooftop it was very good and get with the house bread.

Great food!

As far as the amenities, the hotel had multiple restaurant and bar options and a bakery. The food was pretty decent at the three restaurants. There was also live music at specific hours which was a perfect addition. The hotel location is perfect if you want to be far enough away from the main streets to avoid traffic but close enough to be able to walk to the River Street and the marketplace in a few minutes. The view from the 11th floor was mesmerizing as you can see the whole river street, port and buildings! The only thing I wish that could have been better was the pool area as the pool itself was small and the areas surrounding the pool gave us the feeling of overcrowding due to the number of furniture and the tighter space. Even with less than 10 people in the pool, the whole pool area felt very overcrowded. We ended up not using the pool due to our own personal decision as we were looking for a more relaxed environment to celebrate our anniversary in. Other than that, it is a great hotel to stay at during your visit to Savannah!

Loved the location as it was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. The pool was clean and inviting--loved it! The hair dryer in the room was broke and the outlet was not working well. The staff fixed the hairdryer(by wrapping the exposed portion of the hairdryer with electrical tape)......

Checking out is a nightmare. Double-check your bill and receipt, It was a horrible experience.

We didn't sleep well due to the bed being very firm, just a personal preference.

The Thompson was amazing! From the staff to the facility! Only thing we’d change would be to firmer pillows in the hotel room.

Very clean and well maintained. Fast room service. Convenient public parking (indoor) within a block of the hotel. No pet fee and a complimentary glass of beer at check-in!

The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, and extremely comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout that elevated the stay. One small detail that stood out was the shower—excellent water pressure, which made it a surprisingly delightful part of the experience. Dining here was another highlight. The restaurants offered a fantastic variety of options, and every meal I had was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Between the incredible food, the top-notch amenities, and the relaxing atmosphere, it truly felt like a retreat. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Beautiful newer hotel on the Savannah River. Staff was very pet friendly and location was quiet and peaceful. It was located within walking distance to great restaurants and all the activity. Fantastic bakery within the hotel.

Excellent staff, clean room and the most important thing for me and my family, they’re very dog friendly which is not easy to find nowadays in nicer hotels like this one, overall an excellent experience and will be staying here again when in Savannah.

Beautiful hotel, super clean, overall good experience outside of check in. Several staff members just standing around as we lugged in two suitcases up stairs and two dogs, no one asked to help us just watched as we struggled to get to the check-in desk.

Everything was great here, from the service, the bar, the complimentary Tesla service, to the valet parking. We had a suite and it was like having a small one bedroom apartment. We will most definitely stay here when we are in town again.

This hotel is beautiful, quiet and looks luxurious. Beds were comfy, rooms spacious. Staff was nice. Valet Parking is $53 per night but you can street park for cheaper. No in/out for the street parking. I expected the room to be clean but it was just tidy. Rooftop had nice views. Conveniently located on the river in a nice area, about a half mile from food/things to do. They have a house car (Tesla, driver) that will take you to nearby places for free. There’s a Woodhouse spa next door which is nice. Dog friendly so seeing dog puke in the elevator was gross. Please update the hours on the website/google vs in person. Fleeting closes at 9:30 pm in person but at 11 online and 10 on the website which was a bummer to find out.

Honestly, this is the spot. New beautiful area in Downtown Savannah. It's located on the river, so it's a pretty walk to the main area. They also provide bikes and free cars from and to hotel. Friendly helpful staff, great food and drinks and the pool is a real treat. You gotta stay here, you're welcome! :)

Location was great. The staff was so friendly, so helpful. The beds were super comfortable great views of the river and just top-notch staff from Tristan to Bernard to Allen the house driver. What an amazing perk!

My husband and I stayed for two days and it was the perfect short get away. There were good food options at the hotel and the hotel car was very convenient to get back and forth to River Street, which was walkable, but with the extreme heat made it difficult. I'm definitely coming back again.

This hotel is in a great location with 2 restaurants and a bar. The staff was amazing. The rooms are standard. I didn’t like that there’s no microwave or fridge. The pool is like an adult party during the day. It’s best for families early in the morning or late evening. Loved going on a walk in the morning along the river.

The Thompson is hands-down the best place we have ever stayed in Savannah. This is our second visit to the city and our second stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly, valet is excellent. There is nothing negative that I can say! We will absolutely stay at this hotel during future visits to Savannah.

A fabulous "pet friendly" hotel, for starters. Loved everything about it. Roof top restaurant, cleanliness, smelled amazing, and the rooms were absolutely beautiful, and very well stocked. Def our new favorite.

Excellent long weekend stay. Location is great. Away from hustle and bustle of downtown yet 3 min drive/ 10 minute walk away from River St. Enjoyed morning strolls along riverwalk. Coffee shop adjacent to hotel was perfect. Staff was courteous and went above and beyond. This will be our new go to when we return to Savannah.

I very much enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The location is perfect with a toddler. The location is not busy, with plenty of space to run, walk, and play for a kid. The location is also close to other tourist spots in the area. Amenities are top notch and staff are very welcoming.

Beautiful rooms, incredible bed and pillows and water pressure in the shower was unbelievable!! Good lighting with dimmers in the bathroom, lots of room, great coffee machine and coffee in the room, with real half and half. Fabulous rooftop restaurant and bar. Had a wonderful, unusual breakfast up there, much more special than your standard Southern breakfast fare. Couldn't try the raved about restaurant or bar downstairs as closed on Monday but will definitely be back! Slightly away from busy center but on the river and an easy walk to the riverfront shopping area. Loved it!!

Beautiful new hotel. Comfortable overall. Lighting in our corner room was in adequate. Parking was easy on the street right outside of the hotel.

All areas of the staff, from valet/check in/dining/room service were exceptional. Dog friendly positioning of all staff was excellent.

Parking is a nightmare, only street spots paid every 2hrs. Otherwise it’s hotel Valet for $50. It’s cheaper to park anywhere near major hotels in downtown Atlanta than near this hotel.
