Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the convenient location and friendly staff, but expressing dissatisfaction with the cleanliness, maintenance, and additional charges for parking and breakfast. The hotel seems to be in need of updates and better management of guest expectations.

The room and facility is very clean, but there was a very heavy scent of ammonia when we opened our room door. The bathroom does not have a ventilating fan. Our main complaint is the lack of water pressure. For 2 days there was very little. So little that my wife would not begin to wash her hair as it would take as long to rinse it out as it would to take a bath.

The Lobby was very nice and smelled fresh. The hallways to the rooms smelled like cleaning supplies. And then when we opened the door to our room, (non-smoking hotel) it smelled like straight up cigarettes covered with cleaning products. There’s no fan in the bathroom for ventilation,

The location. The whole experience. Even at check in the clerk seemed like we were bothering him to check in. Very dry . The bed was absolutely horrible. They give you paper thin blankets and the mattress was dreadful and just as thin. Its like you were laying directly on the platform the bed was on. Then the A/C was so loud it made rattling a hissing noises ALL night so as if the bed wasn't bad enough we couldn't sleep due to the noise. Lobby had trash on the floor. Wallpaper was peeling off in the rooms. We will not EVER stay here again!

The room was clean and nice. Didn't order at the bar or eat at the hotel. Very much appreciated that the front desk allowed me to doordash a watch charger to them while I was unavailable. They held it until I came back to the hotel. The only downside was parking is a little rough.

Room was very clean and well stocked. Sheets and pillows very clean. Room had a refrigerator and microwave which was convenient and helped us save money on snacks and drinks because we brought our own. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Bar/Restaurant staff were amazing. Good food, especially the burger. Only a few miles from the historic district. Plenty of parking too.

The room was very nice and clean. Facility was under renovation. The website listed a pool which site did not have. There was an incident at 3AM on 7/27 which led to the fire department being called. No staff available to assist customers on what needed to be done except for the alert system. The front desk stated we could return to our room, but the fire department stated that we could not until facility had been checked.

This place is the worst Hilton hotel we’ve ever stayed in. We got zero direction for breakfast or WiFi upon check in. We had a parking pass but more than once we had not one parking spot but saw at least 10 cars without passes. But none of the staff cared enough to take their noses out of their phone screens. This seems to be the place for children to run unattended playing “elevator hide and seek”. We have been loyal Hilton fans for decades but this incident may make us switch hotel chains. Less than one star. I’ll be checking my receipt for extra charges as this place was absolutely NOT worth what we paid for it.

The room was nice and clean, the ac worked great, and the hotel staff was friendly. Its 15 minutes from the historic district of Savannah, so its nice and close for folks willing to drive and pay to park there rather than dishing out tons of money for a hotel in the district itself.

The staff is very polite however we had some issues with the cleanliness of the room. Upon arrival there was hair in the shower, the carpet under the AC unit was soaked and there was an orange stain on the comforter. Also, due to renovations there is limited parking available and no warning prior to checking in.

Disappointing, construction/renovation closed down front entrance; Checkin was in a hall. Minimal info was provided on use of tv, internet and makeshift restaurant. No common area to just sit. No notification about water restrictions from hotel, had to here from friend who lived in area. Staff was nice and helpful when asked.

1. Heavy construction in the hotel, the smell was absolutely horrible throughout the floors. 2. Parking was a nightmare due to construction & over capacity. 3. Breakfast was limited and overpriced. 4. Room was not cleaned prior to arrival. I requested for service, manager was aware and requested cleaning but did not receive the service. 5. When the cleaning staff cleaned the room on our last day, the staff disposed of my personal soap. They were not able to replace it and provided me with a soap that completely dried out my skin. Overall, do not recommend.

I think the property has potential and it is under construction. My bad for not looking that up, because their website clearly stated it. However, my room door was difficult to get to latch and once latched shut, the electric lock wouldn’t function; like the key wasn’t programmed. Our fridge made loud/odd noises and the sink doesn’t drain. Parking is crazy inadequate. This am, people were parked just anywhere. The breakfast buffet was ok. The staff is sweet

This hotel was undergoing considerable renovations; as a result of this, there was NO access to the swimming pool; NO access to the exercise room; the public hallways had NO A/C and very HOT. My 87 year old mother is disabled; I requested an ADA accessible room on a LOW floor, we were placed on the 5th floor (522). NO ADA room. Mom needed a step ladder to access her bed..! I was ROYALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS HOTEL. The hotel should have been CLOSED FOR RENOVATION…! Period. PS - I want a refund..! You shouldn’t do this to your loyal consumers..Al Lindsay, Architect

There were 3 things I reported to the front desk before noon on the second day. We needed clean towels, the toilet seat wobbled and the iron did not work. I needed to iron an outfit for that night. Came back around 1 and nothing done! Came in for the night around 10pm, still nothing! Expressed my displeasure to the front desk when I checked out. Never again!

Hotel was very crowded due to college graduation. Our coffee pot in room didnt work and there was no coffee in lobby prior to 7am. We opted not to get breakfast as $15 seemed steep for what it was. Front desk staff was great but I dont like that i check in online but still need to go to front desk when i should be able to get digital key. They seemed to be doing construction so part of hotel was not open. We've stayed at this hotel 3-4 times over the past couple yrars and this was our worst experience.

One of the reasons we picked this hotel was because of the pool..No where on the property were there any signs telling you that the pool was CLOSED. Not even at check-in. The parking was an absolute NIGHTMARE. Not enough parking for the guest of the hotel. Your site stated that breakfast was included yet when your there you're informed that it's $15 per person even children. The beds were extremely hard nothing was comfortable about it.

The room was clean & comfortable. The staff were polite & the area seemed safe. My only issue was I checked in around 9pm hoping that I could order food for my room, but the bar staff said the kitchen was closed. The website & all the advertising in the room said dining was until 10pm, but they said they close at 9:30pm. So I had to leave to get food but I’m okay with the visit otherwise.

The website & all the advertising in the room said dining was until 10pm, but they said they close at 9:30pm. So I had to leave to get food but I’m okay with the visit otherwise.

Ill start off by saying they are under renovation without notice. The room itself was clean and nice. With that saying the water was shut off multiple times a day causing the water to be very cloudy and dark as well as causing air in the water line. As we checked in we noticed a employee spraying Lysol continuously as if to complete an entire bottle right in the lobby area. The appearance on the first floor is not appealing and might turn you around. Again this was me checking in and not being told about the renovations. If you leave out for the night; it will not be easy to find parking that you paid $7 for in the parking lot of the hotel. In the rear of the building is where they have all the shipping containers blocking up the parking spaces for the renovations they are doing. I found out only after driving around trying to look for a parking spot. We eventually found parking on the main road. We go upstairs for my lady to come back to the room to take a shower with no hot water available. During the morning of check out it was storming and raining. We called the front desk for a late check out and the young lady said she will call us back she never did. We fall asleep waiting for the hot water to warm up and was woken up by a loud push and back by a housekeeping lead. I approached the door and spoke to the employee Jackie who was not warming and rude and showed no concern at all about anything. spoke to the manager in the lobby which showed no sympathy at check out.

The downside I would say is that parking is not free, it's $7/day. Also Breakfast and dinner are not complementary with dinner being more expensive than breakfast.

Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Midtown was convenient to restaurants and shopping in the area. And it was close to family and friends that we came to visit.

We did receive a message before our stay that there was a $7 parking fee but that was not in fact the case. However, parking is extremely limited. Also, beware if you buy breakfast before hand. It does not show on the receipt and they will try to charge you an additional $15 a person. All in all, not the worst experience, but not the best. If you need a quick place to rest your head for the night, this will do it.

I’ve stayed in other garden inn’s before, they were simple, but not bad. But this one is just unbelievable.

After 2 nights and being in 3 different rooms, I can safely assume the owners put the minimum necessary to keep the hotel operating and don’t really pay attention to guest’s comfort. The staff although frustrated was super friendly and did all they could to assist.

The TV didn’t work, the microwave was disconnected. The beds are comfortable and they looked cleaned. The staff was friendly, but they knocked on our door at 8am to fix our tv, when we were checking out at 11. Then again a knock at 9 to check if we were gone already. It was a mess. Drilling started at 9am, due to the remodeling. Also a nuisance but I get it, things need to be remodeled.

However, bedside light loose, bathroom sink had NO cold water, only hot, toilet handle messed up, phone did not work, tub did not drain well, cards to room had issues (we did not have them near our phones). Gentleman at check in was not very nice or friendly. Other ladies were nice and helpful during our stay.

I stayed for two nights the TV wouldn’t turn on. I reported the issue to the front desk. When I came back to my room the TV was on, but you were unable to change the channel or adjust the volume in any way. In order to turn the TV off, I had to unplug it from the wall. Unacceptable. I was never compensated for a room I paid over $400.00 for.

Reservation was made via Expedia and the check-in time was listed as 3pm and the checkout time was listed as Noon. So I booked based on this information. Hotel personnel told me and my wife we had to checkout before 11am not noon as show on my confirmation letter. I had problems with this because I needed the Noon checkout and this is why I booked Hilton Gardens Midtown.I was highly disappointed.

I believe they are doing construction on the hotel. The lobby was dirty, but had a sign up about it. We heard a lot if drilling and banging. There were many workers all over the building. We weren't made aware the hotel was under renovation when we booked.

From checking in until checkout everyone was amazing! Great hospitality throughout the hotel from front desk to the housekeeping!

Jalaysia was the best. She was helpful and always kind. The room was not so great. There was no ventilation. The bathroom didn't have a working vent. I requested a room with a shower and got a tub. Hot water leaked, not dripped, in the tub. There was a constant stale moisture in the air. We immediately went to get Febreze, Lysol and Clorox. Nothing helped with that smell.

This note charges for parking- even though we had to park in the doctors office next door. Not a first choice.

We arrived early for check in our rooms were not ready but we were able to go get food and eat in their dining area. I saw another family arrive early and they had a small cooler. The receptionist stored the cooler while they took the children to the pool. The grounds were well kept and although the hotel was pet friendly it did not smell pet friendly, and our room showed no evidence of pet wear and tear. I don't travel a lot, but I was impressed and would gladly stay here again.

It was the worst hilton hotel i ever visited in 24 years. I didnt notified the staff because imposible remedy too many issues at this hotel location. Exterior and pictures in tbe web are at diferent thing with the reality. Fhotos didn't upload.

Room wasn’t ready despite coming 5 hours after check in was allowed. We were warned then sent anyway. Beds not made, carpets wet, room smelled bad. Offered another room which smelled like mold, chips all over the floor. Breakfast was not great for $14 per person which was offered free due to the number of issues. Once settled in, they began vacuuming the hallway carpets at 10:45pm. Couldn’t find a luggage carrier. Outdoor pool looked clean but didn’t use. Expected more from a Hilton entity.

I booked a room at the Hilton Garden Hotel on June 21 - 23, 2024, for my Sister in law and my brother. I did not stay there myself. They told me that they loved their room and they were very impressed with the property. They enjoyed their stay. On their behalf, I give the Hilton Garden Hotel in Midtown Savannah, GA, 5 Stars. I recommend it highly.

The beds and pillows were so comfortable! Although it’s probably more of a driving area there is a Fresh Market and Publix in driving distance. Most of the staff were friendly. Parking wasn’t the easiest but was available. (Their parking lot was being repaved).

They gave us a room that smelled like cigarettes! The bed had one pillow turned vertical and it was obvious someone had been laying on it since it was changed/cleaned. My wife has asthma and she went down to the front desk and they finally changed the room. Everything about this hotel was a disappointment for us, including the poor front counter service. The place is not clean and neat as a Hilton Garden Hotel always is; this is the first time we have experienced a HGI in this overall state. They need a new MGR to say the least!

Lobby and and bar were nice, but “courtyard” was just a narrow strip along outside wall.

No parking available after 9:30 PM, night crew at the front desk not to friendly or courteous. When I brought up the issue of parking not available it was like I was bothering them.

Tried to check in at 3pm and lobby was full of upset guests as they were having computer issues. Needed to shower before wedding, unfortunately I went to the wedding a little smelly as they could not check me in. Came back in the evening. Came back at 10pm and finally was able to check in. Next morning went down to lobby and when I returned to room key did not work. One more time down to the lobby to access my room. Lastly, hotel staff came up at 9am and had to ask when we were checking out. Also hate that bottle waters in room have price tag of $3.00.

We were on the third floor and it was pretty loud, which I don't blame the property for because it was the people staying there. It was not ideal though.
- 2/5
Room was dirty. Sink didn't drain. Fan in the bathroom didn't work. The power went out in half of our room. We just thought it would be better for the price we paid.
