Reviews
The hotel is highly praised for its beautiful property, excellent location, and delicious breakfast. The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, some guests have expressed concerns about cleanliness, room size, and certain amenities not being up to par.
- Beautiful property and historical architecture
- Excellent location in the heart of Savannah's historic district
- Some rooms may be small and lack modern conveniences
- Cleanliness issues reported by some guests

My only complaint is that the property's website states that all guests have to be over the age of 18, but yet there were a couple of children.

ABSOLUTELY gorgeous place!

Had a lovely stay. Gorgeous house was beautifully maintained. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Only caveat: you have to be patient with the hot water; it’ll get there, but it takes its time.
- 3/5
View from room was poor. The windows on the exterior were moldy green. The water pressure in the shower was poor. The sink water faucet was hard to turn. The sink had extremely poor drainage and retained water for nearly a minute before completely draining.
- 4/5
Staff was knowledgeable and breakfast was outstanding! Every bit of breakfast was perfect. My only issue was with light in the room. We had Casimir Pulaski room, a basement room with separate entrance. The bed faced the door to outside and light from the outside lamps came through the window above the door and the 2 side windows. Everything else was fine. We were lucky and found free parking nearby since we arrived after 5pm on a Friday and the meters were off.

The food was fantastic and all the hotel staff were so friendly. The rooms were perfectly clean, spacious, and really beautiful. We really appreciated the couch and sitting area that was in our room. Most of the rooms were booked when we stayed there, but you could not hear anything. It was very peaceful and quiet and we slept soundly. The location is absolutely perfect- you can hear bells ringing from the church next-door, a beautiful square to relax in the afternoon, walkable to Franklin‘s coffee shop, which was awesome, and only about a five minute walk from Forsyth Park. Parking could not have been any easier to find -literally steps from the Hamilton Turner Inn, and it was completely free. Overall, the bed-and-breakfast really captured the historic charm of Savannah and we will definitely stay there agaIn.

We loved the stay and the location in Savannah is perfect, from being close enough to all the historic district sites, and the river. Very walkable area. There was an issue with the smoke alarm in our room that the staff was very helpful with making right and following up on. The staff seemed genuinely happy to have us there and to help make our experience in Savannah a good one. The breakfasts were super tasty and portions just right; amenities were spot on and we looked forward every evening to a glass of port or cookie “back home” after a long day in the city. Thank you and we hope to be back soon!

Very Cozy facility and room. We enjoyed our appetizers and wine, port and coffee and of course homemade chocolate chip cookies, and finally a delicious breakfast. The staff we amazing. We have already recommended this hotel to our friends.

Close to everything, .... We met wonderful people your staff is very hospitable Nathan was one of the Nicest people i met in Savannah He is in wheelhouse as House host.... This guy was Awesome, The minute he realized our AC wasn't working correctly he moved us.... for almost 600 dollars a night i would of expected a better Breakfast ... The room was dusty my wife has bad allergies we were moved to another room because the AC didn't work

Breakfast was tasty, server was attentive and friendly. Room was basic. Difficult access with handicap.
- 4/5
We enjoyed the daily evening wine and hooves, but on two of the four days that we were there, they put it out late. The fresh cookies daily were delish! Loved that we could ask for a soda. Staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our breakfast server, but it would have been nice to see his handsome face. His hair was hanging in his eyes the entire time. After our first night, our room was not tended to. We then made sure we put on the make up room sign for future days. Furniture in the parlor is starting to wear on the arms.
- 5/5
The location put us squarely in the middle of the historic part of the city All the pluses made up for the one negative: the lack of an elevator.

We couldn’t love Hamilton Turner Inn anymore! This place truly feels like home when visiting Savannah. We have stayed here several times and always look forward to our next stay. Everyone is warm and welcoming, the Inn and rooms are gorgeous and breakfast and snacks are always delicious. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Savannah. You won’t be disappointed! ❤️

Great experience, met amazing people and the location was perfect. Old world charm. Staff were so hospitable. Katherine was exceptional. Her knowledge of the local history was captivating and Kareem started our days off with his attentive service. Food was delicious. Best vacation to date!

Beautiful house. Great location. Friendly staff. The breakfast and evening wine/snacks were delicious (but see below re breakfast). We were in Room 501 in the Carriage House. Unfortunately to get there you go out the back door and down a short section of steep rusty stairs that pass by loud air-conditioning units. Not very pleasant. Also in the room was a closet that housed the Carriage House heating/air-conditioning unit that made a loudish noise every time it clicked in (but went quieter quickly). Also the breakfast was good ... but only a single set menu. I wonder what happens with those that don't like what is on offer.
- 5/5
Gorgeous stately home with so much character colour and personality. The staff are very passionate about the House and Savannah. I encourage everyone who stays to engage with them and learn so much about the area. Unfortunately, there was a cold spell when I visited and the heating in the bedroom was intermittent. To be expected in such an old property.

Everything was perfect Booking.com took 162.65 more then they paid the Inn. I hope they will refund me.

Our experience was amazing. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts with eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, and a biscuit, Belgian waffle or pancake every morning. We had cookies waiting for us in the afternoon and wine and appetizers in the evening. We never made it to the port wine and snack before bedtime. The inn is magical with it recently updated decor. The staff bed over backwards to accommodate, and the location is close to historical sites. We can’t wait to return.

Attentive staff, lovely sitting and dining room. Complimentary baked goods, fruit, wine and cheese. Location was amazing! Although the rooms are beautifully done, the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything in the room next door. We were woken up in the middle of the night by guests coming in late and being loud. Maybe some fan or white noise would help!

Old colonial house. Nice common areas and garden. Breakfast included was good but minimal. Assitionaly they had fruits cofee and tea in the living room. In the evening they had port and delicious fresh cookies. My room was a garden level room - most probably assigned to servants in the old days. Not my cup of tea. Small room, no dresser - had to hang my clothes in the bathroom, dirty windows, no way to open them for fresh air. Sheets and towels were nice and clean. Nice chandeliers too. Maybe I should have asked them to change my room. They did seem quite busy. Overall was ok but I will not return to this inn.

The Hamilton Turner Inn is a gorgeous property with a rich history. We have stayed here twice now and had an excellent experience each time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and well decorated with very comfy beds. The home is very central to area restaurants and shopping, we walked everywhere. The breakfast each morning was delicious in their beautiful dining room. We loved the special touches like afternoon wine and cheese and late evening brandy. I highly recommend staying at Hamilton Turner Inn on your next visit to Savannah.

I found my room about 250 sq ft not enough to turn around in the room. Also, my room was in the basement they had the air conditioning working very high so you don’t have a chance to smell what underground smell like. My reservation was non refundable and when I complained I was told that I chose this room. I decided to leave the hotel and go find somewhere else … when I left I was told to forget about my money and it is not going to be refunded, I still left just couldn’t sleep the night in a room like jail

We thought the house was beautiful and loved the location and friendly staff! Parking was convenient and we loved being able to walk to restaurants, etc. Tim was extremely professional and helpful throughout our stay and arranged a trolley tour for us, which I highly recommend doing early on (to learn about the fascinating history and help get acclimated to the city). We loved the evening wine and hors d'oeurves, especially. Breakfast was good, however the server could have been more attentive on our first day. We unfortunately to had to leave a day early due to the hurricane, so we were unable to have breakfast on our second day. Our room was beautiful (they very kindly moved our room to a higher floor, without us asking, due to the possibility of flooding from the impending storm, which we appreciated). The room was not as clean as we expected (cobwebs on light fixture, toilet and shower had not been cleaned very well). We do still plan to revisit in the future, however, as these were minor issues and not enough to prevent us from going back.

This historical house was the first house receiving electrical services in Savannah. All wood flooring thru-out the house is original authentic. All walls still maintain the original around 150 years old hand paintings by a local artist, the ceiling chandelier is the original historical item. All bedrooms are decorated back in time tastefully. Included breakfast is different and magnificent prepared each day. Staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. This historical house is a MUST to explore and live in it.

We stayed in the carriage house in the Conrad Aikan room which was pretty tight for two people, but there was a lovely small living room for the three rooms of the carriage house to use. Overall everything was excellent but I rated our stay four stars instead of five because of the small room. However, we would stay at the Hamilton Turner Inn again in one of their larger suites.

Wonderful stay, hosts made us feel very welcome and we had positive interactions throughout our stay. Location is right in the middle of the historic district but only 10 mins walk to the riverfront area. Would stay again!

Absolutely impeccable stay. The hotel is exquisite. The staff are perfection personified. The afternoon wine and cheese was such a treat. Parking is available on the streets next to the hotel if it’s not road sweeping day. A huge thank you for an utterly fabulous stay and in particular Nate.

Beautiful property & generous hosts. I loved the walkable location, comfortable bed, and delicious breakfast. From the warm welcome to the fond farewell, it was a perfect getaway. I came on a solo trip, but would recommend the Hamilton-Turner for a romantic getaway. I hope to return soon.

Very personal service. No coffee or tea in room but there's always someone around the lounge for that. You schedule your breakfast time and the dining room is beautiful. Breakfast was just right- a piece of French toast, sausage and eggs. Sits on a beautiful square and is in a convenient area but a little quieter. Feels like your own little neighborhood.

My sister and I stayed in the Button Gwinnett Suite and it was amazing!! The Inn is beautiful, the staff is extremely nice and very helpful. The breakfast is wonderful as well as the wine happy hour every night. We chose to bring our wine and snacks out to the cozy courtyard which was such a treat with the pretty landscaping, fountain and string lights. This is one of THE nicest Inns we’ve ever stayed in!! We will be back!!

Driving in the area was sketchy. Like many other cities, but was a little concerned for my car.

This room has no windows at all and is practically underground. It is advertised as a luxury room but the reality is not. All customers expect the room details to be fairly and accurately shared- which sadly is just the opposite. There is a remark that the room ‘has private garden entrance’ - when the reality is it has stares to underground. If it would have been fairly advertised- would never have booked it. It is disrespectful and misleading the customers. The price doesn’t worth by far.

Really Wonderful. Perfect location and our hosts were warm and welcoming. Everything was exceptional. Breakfast was delicious! We hope to visit again.

What a beautiful inn, very nicely renovated and managed by lovely and helpful people who are paying attention to the details. Every part of our stay was so enjoyable and relaxing, leaving us feeling very much at home. Our room was on the main floor behind the kitchen, and suited us perfectly, but if you are not an early riser, you may want to choose another room. The area is convenient to so many things, all a comfortable walk (from our perspective). We loved learning about the history of the property and will look forward to staying again when next in Savannah. Just writing this review puts me at ease with a smile on my face.

Hosts were there for our every need and very nice, we felt like we were right at home. Breakfast each morning was made once we entered the dining room and was better than any five star restaurant. If you are in Savannah Georgia, it is a MUST stay!!❤️ Thanks to all the staff who made our stay a most memorable one!

Beautiful inn, outstanding breakfast offering, and good location. Rooms on smaller end, without some modern conveniences of many types of outlets to charge multiple devices, but you are likely staying there for charm over the function. Unfortunately, our room's roof started dripping in a rain storm and dripped down the wall. There was a concern as there was an outlet on that wall with the tv plugged in it. In addition, the shower water spilled out of the bottom of the glass, onto the bathroom floor, and we were standing in a pool of water before even getting into the shower. They did offer to look at the problems immediately and refunded us our nights stay. Disappointed we could not shift rooms, as they were booked during our stay. Hope to perhaps try another room at the inn in the future.

Beautiful house, lovely room. Lounge and dining room area was delightful. Canopies and wine at 5.00 and port and cookies later in the evening made our stay so welcoming.

The house is incredible. The staff is warm and friendly. The location is perfect. I was quite impressed.
- 3/5
Satisfactory stay, but we had an issue with their handling of breakfast. Don’t come here if you want to eat at some leisure. You are told that your time is limited to a half hour in the dining room. After waiting to be served, we had 15 minutes to eat & were then told to take our plates to the living room where there was no available seating due to other guests. Not the hospitality expected when paying at their price range, in full, in advance. There must be a better way to accommodate staggered seating.

Absolutely recommend staying at this property. Beautiful historical architectural design throughout the Inn. Staff was incredibly warm and helpful. The included breakfasts were amazing. This location is perfect for walking throughout the city squares.

Breakfast could be a bit longer, maybe 35 mins? Shampoo and conditioner bottles are too hard to use.

We had such a wonderful stay in a beautifully renovated house in the historic district of Savannah. Very comfortable and cozy room, breakfast was delicious every morning, daily snacks and baked goods, after dinner social hour, so many extras came with this place, we really felt welcome and taken care of. The staff is readily available and genuinely happy to help with any questions or needs we had during our stay.
