A must stay while in Savannah! It’s charming. Quiet and Chemise, is an outstanding chef with a lovely personality. Our room “The Hydrangea” was elegant and spacious. We will def be back. Especially for the food that Chemise prepared.

The breakfast was awesome!! The host was very social which was nice. The house was beautiful you felt you were back in 1800’s. Close enough to downtown and the historic area. Would definitely be back and highly recommend. My mom’s favorite color is purple which is another reason I rented it. 💜💜

For a historic house, the room was nice and the shower was updated and modern. We did not realize that the lower level was not in the house, but was a room added in the basement area. It did not have its own temperature control. The hostess was very cordial and the location was great.

The inn was quite wonderfully appointed -- decorations, furniture, artwork, everything. And the breakfasts were FABULOUS! Even I had to get up in time to enjoy breakfast! A lovely stay.

Loved the home and the woman that ran the place (sorry, forgot her name). The bathroom, honestly, was awesome. Most older places you stay have horrible bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast the next day was homemade and delicious. The property itself is absolutely stunning and right in the mix of things. My two main complaints are (1) super-expensive; and (2) stairs, stairs, and more stairs. Both to be expected, however. Would definitely go back.

The service was adequate but far from our expectations from the pricing. We are very frequent travelers and have a good sense of what to expect- related to location and price. This place fell short

Beautiful, comfortable, clean historic INN to stay at in Savannah. Walkable by 15 minutes to most desired locations. We stayed in the Dahlia room and it was spectacular! We had a lovely sitting area with an outdoor porch when it wasn’t raining and the bed was very very comfortable. Beware that breakfast is not served till 9 AM which was a little late for us however it was delicious. The innkeeper was wonderful and very friendly. This is a lovely place to say if you want to enjoy Savannah.

Chemise was very welcoming and informative regarding Savannah and the areas we should visit. The property was charming. We stayed in the Ivy room and the shower was incredible and the bed comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is full length curtains that make up for the gaps the shades/blinds leave. Otherwise a very beautiful property. Thank you.

Stay was great. Was a little disappointed that our room was in the basement. The inn was not filled so would have loved to been upgraded to a room in the house. Also, the bathroom was tough. Our shower flooded our bathroom each day. Service was great, very friendly.

SPECTACULAR! The yard and home are beautiful. I received a very warm welcome from Chemise. She served delicious breakfasts in the dining room every morning and was always available if I needed anything. Outside there are garden areas with chairs and tables. It was wonderful to sit and relax while hearing their water fountains. Amethyst Garden Inn is in a great neighborhood. Easy to walk to restaurants, shops and tourist spots. The very elegant room I stayed in was gorgeous. I felt like a Queen❣️

We couldn’t resist this property from the first time we saw the pictures. It was exactly as described and we felt like we were living 200+ years ago but with modern conveniences. It was so charming and we loved our stay. The breakfast and afternoon nibbles were so delicious, hats off to the chef!! Very conveniently located and we would definitely come back!

The property is lovely and quiet - the owner was on site doing maintenance while we were there; but everything was in perfect order in our room. The decor is comfortable yet elegant. We enjoyed the character in the house. The property is secured with locked gates, and the area is safe. For us it was convenient to park our car and walk all weekend - we never needed to drive until our trip over to Tybee Island.

The lady running the inn was very friendly and helpful, however for the price I expected a little more. The sink was not in the bathroom. No thermostat to control heat or cold. It looks as if a lot of shortcuts were done, like black tape on a light switch, two doorknobs but only one worked. My compliments to the photographer that took pictures of the rooms, they did a great job.

There are a lot of steps just to enter the building so this would not be good for anybody with physical issues that might have trouble with stairs. The decor is not as good as it could be, but you can tell they tried to make it nice without spending too much on finer things.

I loved our stay at Amethyst Garden Inn. The breakfast was delicious each morning and the Inn itself was decorated beautifully. We stayed in a downstairs room, the Begonia room, which provided convenient access to our car and the outdoor seating area. The only downside was that the room was a bit warm and there was no individual air conditioning adjustment, but a fan was provided which made it much better. The location is a good spot - quiet and secluded. We chose to drive down to riverstreet because the walk was around 25 minutes and I was already sunburnt, but you could walk anywhere you wanted from here.

Room was in a dirty, musty, dank smelling basement. It smelled awful! Windows and window sills were dirty and dusty. Many windows were bolted shut. All windows had vertical bars covering them like a prison cell. Window coverings didn’t work. They were dirty horizontal blinds from the 60s. The room was not updated and visible repairs had been done with tape and spray-foam. There were many holes (drill holes and otherwise) in the walls and stains on all of the furniture. The “nest” was blotted shut in a plastic case on the wall so you were not able to control the temperature of your room. The bathroom was tiny, ugly and outdated. Everything looked like it was from the 60s – old, drab, uncared for, stained and dirty. No wine glasses or cups were offered. The room was completely empty of all amenities. You could hear constant, loud footsteps of people walking above, as well as people in the adjoining rooms. I am shocked that this bed-and-breakfast gets away with charging as much as it does. It isn’t event close to the river or to most of the restaurants and tourist spots. Also, there is no pool, despite numerous pictures of one online. We didn’t stay. Despite booking to stay for 5 nights. We left immediately and booked somewhere else.

This historic inn is a little rough around the edges to be special. It's good location and appearance are almost enough to recommend it, but the worn pillows and random room interior and missing bulbs and spiders make it just a "maybe"

Location was good and peaceful. Chemise is a gem! She managed our stay, events, and dining making excellent choices for us. Specifically a restaurant cancelled our reservation, and she located another one for us which was fabulous; it was our anniversary, great save Chemise! Rooms were clean and spacious. Temperature was a little warm on the top floor; however we had a fan. We will be back. Savannah is one of a kind. The Ropers

My husband refused to unpack and immediately started searching for new accommodations. I called the Inn manager Chemise to let her know about the state of the accommodations. Initially, she offered to move us to a new room - but that there would be a higher price. After letting her know that the state of the room we had was well below expectations and not as pictured at $325/night - she finally agreed just to move us to a different room without additional charges. The new room, the Dahlia suite was MUCH better - but it was still lacking in amenities. It definitely had the historic charm down, but it was missing basic staples like: TV, iron, convenient outlets to charge your electronic devices while you're in the bed, privacy in the bathroom, etc. All in all, we would not stay at the Amethyst Garden Inn. The place needs too much work and there are much nicer places that are cheaper. Pretty disappointed.

The home is lovely and Chemise is a terrific hostess. She made us feel very welcome and even shared a recipe with us from the delicious breakfast she cooked. I suggest that you inquire about what room you are purchasing when you book so you receive one that meets your needs and expectations. We had a few issues with the room we were originally assigned but Chemise was able to assist us and made our stay very memorable. The Inn is lovely and very well- maintained and located. I highly recommend it.

The inn keeper chemise(? Spelling) was excellent. She is very knowledgeable about the area. She is an excellent cook for breakfast. I had to cancel my reservation because my travel partner (my mother) was diagnosed with lung cancer and has to begin chemotherapy just after our trip, and her doctors forbade her to travel. John Ranivand, the owner, refused to refund our cancellation. He is “sticking to his policy” of no refunds, even if that includes a dying woman.

My husband and I had an incredible stay for our first time in Savannah, we highly highly recommend Amethyst Garden!! Chemise truly is wonderful with southern charm, warmth, excellent local recommendations for activities/food/extras, and we couldn't have enjoyed our homemade breakfasts more, especially her delicious cheese grits (which we both had for the very first time and ruined every other we tried)!! Honestly, we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more, including a couple refreshing evening swims. So THANK YOU Chemise, it was a pleasure, and when/if we find ourselves in Savannah again, you will certainly be finding us there!!

The innkeeper is lovely and friendly. The breakfasts were just okay. The room had no place to unpack clothes into. The room was not cool enough and the air conditioning had no control in the room itself. The bathroom setup was odd - small shower stall and toilet in bathroom while sink in a closet in the bedroom. Shower stall had no lip so it was hard not to have water puddle throughout the bathroom. I would like to have seen other rooms on other floors. The landscaping needs attention from a gardener.

I absolutely LOVED our stay! So beautiful and clean, wow one person cleaning that entire home and it looked like each room had its own maid. Food was out of this world. Absolutely a wonderful stay!!

Such a great old house. A great property. A little street noise but not really a problem

This was a nice property close enough to River street but far enough to not hear it. Very safe property with own keys to security gates and rooms. Good food. Very clean and very comfortable bed!
