This was a last minute booking on a whim to see Savannah's historic district for the first time. Great location. Free parking for guests. You can walk to everything close by within minutes. Amazing food in the restaurant. (Book your reservation as soon as you arrive) Great bar atmosphere and they will serve the full dinner menu if you can't get a table. Room did not disappoint, even though we had to climb 3 flights of stairs. (We were lucky they had a room so no complaints here.) Thank you to everyone for your hospitality. Yes, even "Grumpy" was accommodating and a lot more pleasant than his nickname.

This was a great location, close to the old distract near everything. The Inn is basically few old houses blended together to form the building with the restaurant downstairs. I did not get a chance to eat there, but it had great reviews. Parking is available for the visitors, which was great. However, I arrived very late one evening and all the spaces were taken. Still, it wasn't bad, there was plenty of parking along the street in front of the Inn. The only thing I would just comment, it isn't a complaint really, the room needs a little paint and upkeep. There were scrapes on the walls, clearly from furniture movement. Basically cosmetic, not structurally. The area on the ceiling where the a/c is located, cracked and a little stained. Other than that, the room was clean. I expected old musty smell, given the age of the building and uneven floors, but no, it was clean. The room was a nice size, comfortable, and cozy. It was a nice stay for the long weekend stay. The host gave me a little tour prior to checking in and provided useful information. I felt at home and comfortable. I would stay there again.

Very lovely and charming hotel. Easy walking distance to everything.

Great staff!!! The restaurant was amazing with great food and and live piano music
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay. The location is phenomenal! Lots of restaurants, shops, and beautiful park squares. I felt very safe day or night, no issues! My room was very private and I felt like a local renting part of townhouse in the area. The room 307, was decorated with queen-sized Victorian Eastlake bed frame, Eastlake dresser w mirror, Antique wardrobe, and gorgeous glass chandelier. Mattress was firmer than I like, but I slept very well for the 3 nights there. The establishment is well managed. The owner meets with each guest, gives them a tour, and makes sure they are settled in. The staff are very accommodating and pleasant. I would definitely book again!
- 5/5
Great location in historic district, fantastic restaurant on premises, cute rooms (up stairs), many coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Close to River Street.
- 5/5
A clean , comfortable hotel within walking distance to most everything in historic savanna
- 5/5
My wife loved the tub, and I used the shower. The parlor on our floor was private to us, and we used it a lot. All of this in an absolutely perfect location. And the manager was a delight as well.
- 5/5
What a beautiful & charming Inn! Best customer service I’ve ever experienced with a stay! Will definitely be going back
- 5/5
Experience the vibrant energy of downtown with convenient amenities just steps away! While parking is limited, their friendly staff ensures a warm welcome. Enjoy their freshly updated bathrooms and soak in the Old Southern charm that sets them apart. Each themed room adds a unique, charming touch to your stay.
- 5/5
Hotel is in middle of town, which made everything in walking distance. The room was gorgeous. we thought the ac wasn’t working and left a message with the front desk but they never responded. Room never got over 72 so it was ok. Grumpy (he was actually very pleasant) showed us around. He helped us park because the streets weee definitely not made with a full size SUV in mind! The restaurant was amazing.
- 5/5
Great spot in the historic district! The staff was very welcoming and helpful! Room 106 still has a high bed (could be an issue for some but we loved it) with a super comfortable mattress! That along with the room being an interior one (no windows) made it easy to slip into vacation mode and sleep in. This is an old building, so if you’re looking for modern and contemporary you should look elsewhere, but if you enjoy character and cool historical vibe, this is the place…
- 5/5
Friendly personalized customer service and hospitality. Great location. We enjoyed our stay for a weekend and would book again.
- 5/5
Awesome historic property, great staff, good clean rooms, all at a great price! Also nice to have a bar right downstairs! We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Savannah
- 5/5
Friendly staff good clean room and wonderful restaurant
- 5/5
Lovely historic inn, centrally located, helpful staff, really enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Let me down anything quaint and very appropriate for the historical district. Close to everything. Staff is beyond friendly. Nice historical touches to the rooms we have stayed here previously. Enjoy the proximity of everything, including the bar downstairs and the restaurant. Not a cookie cutter. Very pleasant experience each time
- 5/5
I love this Inn because I get a different room layout every time I stop!
- 4/5
The inn is a nice place but no lobby or pool or amenities, so it’s just a room to sleep in basically, no windows in the room I had. For the price I might rather stay in a place that at least offers breakfast. The restaurant is good, the crab soup for dinner was excellent.
- 5/5
Great staff..good location
- 5/5
We had a wonderful 3-night stay in room 308. The staff was very accommodating of our late check-in when our flight was delayed. Room 308 is up two flights of narrow stairs which wasn't a problem for us since we didn't have heavy luggage. The room was clean and spacious, and I loved the soaking tub. The bed is higher than normal but they provide a step stool. There was a bit of a musty smell in the room but it was not unusual for being an old house, and it didn't bother me after the first night. The ventilation could be better - there is no fan in the bathroom so it got pretty humid after using the shower. Despite this, the room was well-maintained and comfortable. Would love to stay at this inn again if we return to Savannah!
- 5/5
The inn was very quiet and relaxing. The food at the restaurant was very delicious. It was a very unique and quiet stay.
- 5/5
My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean, unique, and interesting. Will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Loved the location and historical charm
- 5/5
17Hundred90 was one of the best places we have stayed. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant atmosphere was warm and inviting the food was delicious. The bar staff were friendly and we were able to meet so many people that stopped by from the walking tours. We will be returning in the future.
- 3/5
There was no staff on the property from 10 p.m. at night until 10 AM in the morning. That was a problem, especially when our smoke alarm battery must have gone dead so our smoke alarm beeped all night the last night We were there and then continued to tell us that the battery need to be replaced, but there was no one we could contact. the bathrooms are just OK. The restaurant is fantastic and the front desk person Chris was fabulous. They could use a little cleanup around the property as the sidewalks were in in need of some cleanup. Also, it was very noisy on the street and we could not open the windows at all for any fresh air. The air condition was so loud that it kept us awake and we had to turn it off.
- 5/5
The room was beautiful and the staff was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Great stay
- 5/5
Great place - perfect location.
- 4/5
Room was very quaint. Could use a deep clean. Dropped an earring and had get under the dresser to get it and there was a lot of dirt and trash under it. Restaurant was beautiful and food was delicious. Bar was very nice. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. Within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and River St.
- 5/5
You barely move and it squeaks like crazy. The room was beautiful. Everything is walkable.
- 5/5
My room at the guest house was beautiful and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location and restaurant were huge bonuses. Delicious dinner and convenient to all historic downtown Savannah and River Street. It was perfect for me.
- 4/5
Grumpy and the Front Desk Guy were great!
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful from day one. Very nice staff, clean room. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Owner was unbelievably helpful. Went out of his way to make sure we had a good time. Would highly recommend this inn. We will be back for sure.
- 5/5
Excellent location, clean, host ensured we had parking.
- 5/5
Chris was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the quaintness and history of the property. We also appreciated being able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.
- 5/5
Staff friendly and helpful

Nice place with a nice bar. Staff was excellent.
- 5/5
Staff was kind and helpful. Room was spacious and the inn was in walking distance of restaurants, bars and attractions.

Great staff! Only stayed one night but it was perfect for what we needed
- 5/5
A wonderful place to stay. And so important historically. We love 1790!
- 5/5
Overall amazing place
- 5/5
We had such a great experience at 17Hundred90. We arrived and the desk clerk was extremely helpful. Our room had been double-booked and they upgraded us from a Queen to a King AND didn't charge us the parking fee ($15 a night, which is very reasonable for the area). The room was beautiful and large. All who worked for the hotel could not have been nicer. We will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Our room was so beautiful, the soaking tub was lovely and the patio was a great place for coffee in the mornings and wine in the evening.
- 5/5
Very glad we found this place as it made our stay so in tune with historic Savanna.
- 5/5
Such a nice historical place to stay in walking distance to everything in Historic Savannah. Our room was nicely decorated and comfortable and the staff was amazing. The restaurant was absolutely phenomenal and we also enjoyed the tavern one evening! Will def book again!
- 4/5
bathroom was updated. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was popular as was the bar. A lovely period place to stay.
- 5/5
First time in Savanah and we had an amazing time! The room was so clean and cozy. Very convenient location and the staff was amazing and super helpful. We will stay here again!
- 2/5
Bathroom very clean except the heat grill. Soap bars like communion wafers, too thin to wash the father or the son or even the Holy Ghost. Like many places, no fan. Door would not stay locked. Thermostat would not adjust, office person said “oh yeah” came up and poked it with a pen (?!?!?). The office is not open all the time so we spent one evening being very cold. The TV, well, years in consumer electronics and I could only get it to function kind of randomly. I don’t know whether to blame Vizio, or FireStick, or YouTube TV or the remote. The internet is terrible, awful, alternates between weak and dead. The room had a fair amount of space, two wingback chairs, no desk, two refrigerators, a kind of entry space with small closet. Hangers completely not removable-polos or T-shirts etc could not be hung up at all unless you wanted to stretch the neck to size XXL. Grrrrr. Massive construction going on across the street, so if you like to party into the evening and sleep late it ain’t happening. Also the windows have shutters and gauze curtains so the room is never very dark in the night. It felt like we were in Iceland in summer again...though oddly we slept pretty well nevertheless. At a cheap place, eh. At what we were paying per night, never again.
- 5/5
cool place
- 4/5
Great experience. Grumpy was nice and showed us to our room. Cool old building and was happy we scored parking on the property. Got a free drink coupon from the bar which was nice. room was VERY spacious. Walkable to downtown. Felt safe w/ my 16 year old daughter w/ me. enjoyed the quick, easy and free ferry to the convention center for a gymnastics meet.
- 4/5
Nice bar and restaurant downstairs. Lots of stairs and old but great location and friendly staff
- 5/5
Location was excellent.
- 3/5
It has a good local older bar scene. Cleanliness and maintenance were poor. Paint was was flaking off and entrance canopy was moldy. The handle on our room door came right off in my hand. Alot of stairs, no elevator or help with luggage. Pack light, and go for the location and history.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
The staff here are friendly and very helpful. The location is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
- 3/5
Excellent location and quaint buildings friendly staff and nice restaurant. Has deferred maintenance issues like peeling paint, broken blinds, poor shower pressure. Main issue was cleanliness under furniture. I dropped an item and looked under bed and tables and doesn't look like it has been vacuumed, maybe ever.
- 5/5
Charming Location-Memorable Staff gifted with Hospitality. They treated us like family!
- 5/5
Great location. Loved the restaurant and bar.
- 5/5
We had an amazing weekend in room 204!!! Rebecca and Patrick in the tavern were a blast. Grumpy made the whole trip! Hes funny and kind. The place is in walking distance of all the fun. Cant wait to go back.
- 5/5
Not fancy, but a hotel with local history and character. Perfect location in the historic district added to the visit. There are the usual upscale chain hotels and fancier boutique hotels elsewhere in Savannah but I wanted to stay at a place that I would remember as distinctive. The hotel restaurant is very good and the bar on site is excellent (especially the bartenders, who remain attentive despite the occasions surge of customers).
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and we loved Grumpy the handyman - very sweet in contrast to his name! Very pleasant room with old-fashioned amenities, fine for this duo. We enjoyed our complimentary beverage with our delicious meal in their restaurant last night, great food in a cozy environment.
- 5/5
Fun place. Great restaurant great staff perfect location for turning Savannah
- 5/5
Have been here many times. Love to park and walk anywhere we wish.
- 1/5
Needs major updates and TLC
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel - great location, fantastic restaurant and bar - and Grumpy took good care of us.
- 4/5
We loved the restaurant which was rustic and classy. The food was excellent and our waiter had a good sense of humor and did a great job. The piano player was a nice touch and added to the atmosphere. The bar had a relaxed atmosphere and the bartenders were knowlegable and the drinks were good. The staff at the Inn were so helpful, from when I called to find out if certain amenities were in the room (hairdryer and iron were there) and they continued to be very helpful and friendly for our entire stay. When we initially arrived, we were helped upstairs with our suitcases. The only down side was that our room could have been better. It was dimly lit (low watt bulbs) and there was nowhere to hang our clothes. There was an armoire in the room, but the center compartment was sealed shut. There was however, plenty of room (floor space) for our suitcases. There was a stain on the rug and the only window looked out onto the hallway (so no daylight to help the dimness). That being said, there was a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, refrigerator, coffee maker and TV in the room. It was also one of the lower priced rooms in the area.
- 5/5
This was a fantastic spot. The staff was really great! Always friendly and helpful. The room was awesome, everything was nice and worked well. It was quiet to sleep, and in a super amazing location easily walkable to almost anywhere in the old city. Parking was easy (but could be tight if you have a large vehicle - and it’s not free, but you’re in an old city not built for cars so parking is not really convenient most anywhere there). The buildings are great - you do need to be OK that they are old and historic though. There are ups and downs literally - in the floors. Some things are very creaky. But it has so much charm and character we really enjoyed our stay! The bar downstairs was great - bartenders awesome and friendly. We did not try the restaurant.
- 3/5
Room 106 in the main building doesn’t have a window which was not disclosed and that was weird. Room is in need of maintenance/deep cleaning, especially the bathroom. No coffee available in the morning was a pain, but the main building, bar and restaurant are historic and charming. Staff was great also.
- 3/5
In need of updates, dirty, stained carpet, old fixtures and worn furniture, unpleasant smell
- 5/5
Had a Great stay the whole Inn the restaurant and bar
- 4/5
Good location
- 3/5
Location was excellent. Eating access to Oglethorpe and other main streets and shopping areas. Old 19th century Victorian brick and everything slightly out of alignment vibe excellent restaurant and Tavern very nice well above average. Our biggest problems were room comfort, including.
- 3/5
The outlet in the bathroom didn't work. When mentioned to the property manager, he was currently aware and couldn't figure it out. End result was that my wife could never use the hairdryer. Never received any feedback. Don't know if it's fixed yet.
- 5/5
The staff was outstanding in all maners. The parking is a little tough for larger trucks but that is to be expexted with the area, however they made adjustments quickly and we had no problems whatsoever. The room was perfect and everyone was absolutely amazing. We stayed here foe our honeymoon 5 years ago and finally made it back!!! Riverstreet and all the shops are just a quick stroll away. Highly recommend them to anyone!!
- 3/5
The room was clean but very small and needed to be updated. The bedspread was incredibly worn out. The walls needed painting and the furniture was horribly worn. The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Maybe we just got a bad room.
- 5/5
Such a wonderful laid-back feeling, we stayed in room 201. It was perfect a nice big four poster bed that set up out of the way separate living room. We could just walk out our stairs and be anywhere we want it to be within 10 minutes. We didn’t know hovering you even have your private square to the right so much to discover.
- 5/5
Nice clean room. Great location. Parking is not the best.
- 5/5
Great location, lots of character.
- 5/5
Will always come back when visiting Savannah. Great historic vibes and central location.
- 5/5
Very walkable to everything. Restaurant was better almost any place including the famous “scratch kitchen”. Had three different rooms with family and friends. Great staff!
- 5/5
Quirky historic hotel with great downstairs pub for after walking Savanah. Had three rooms with family and staff bent over backwards for us
- 5/5
Historically cool!!
- 5/5
The Inn is beautiful!! Staff very friendly and welcoming! Great location to walk to many highlighted places such as the River boardwalk and City Market. Overall great experience and I will definitely stay there again!
- 2/5
The staff were nice and very accommodating. When I asked for a hair dryer, they brought one up immediately. The bathroom was stocked with bare minimum: three single use soap bars for two people for two nights, 1 little shampoo and conditioner and 1 lotion- all of fairly low quality. There was extra roll of TP, no tissues. The shower was very dark and without a light, if the curtain was drawn. The mattress was old and creaky. The parking is the true issue. Super tight, European-style parking spots - for American sized cars. Parking costs 15$ a day and a sports not guaranteed. In fact, the parking is so tight and difficult that an attendant has to come help you. There is no breakfast available and no staff available before 10:00AM or after 10:00 PM. The location is great (historical district) but one has to walk a bit in the morning to get a real cup of coffee and breakfast. It is also very noisy. People scream on the streets until late and the door has to be slammed to be closed, thus waking up those who reside on the first floor. Charming in principle, but overpriced based on the considerations above. Thus, great staff and charming buildings, but impractical and not well serviced.
- 5/5
My niece and I enjoyed our stay at the 1790 house. The staff was friendly, the room spacious and clean, and dinner was excellent. I highly recommend staying here when you go for a visit to Savannah!
- 4/5
It was what you expect for an establishment of this age. Rooms were a little run down but the experience was good and the staff was friendly. The onsite bar was nice at the end of the day and laid back.
- 5/5
Excellent location and the staff was fantastic. We had a marvelous time and would recommend to anyone.
- 5/5
Beautiful building and area...cool bar!
- 5/5
A great place to stay for St Patty’s festivities!
- 5/5
We love 17Hundred90Inn! We love Grumpy as well as all the staff. They're very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is amazing! Plus if you get a chance to stay in Anna's room...it's always an experience.
- 2/5
Stayed 4 nights. Had a cute patio, but ashtray had ashes in it and no grounds keeping for it probably all winter. Area rug was not very clean and found a long dark hair in the bed the first night. Also strange noise like a phone ringing could be heard on and off throughout the day and night. Let the front desk know and nothing was done. Manager was very dismissive and condescending. Got terrible night sleeps, would never stay here again and it tainted our visit to Savannah.
- 5/5
Our room was comfortable . The location was perfect for easy walking to all areas. The tavern is a gem and we went every night. It’s a favorite with the locals too!

This is a…it is what it is establishment. It is an inn from 1790. If you are into historical and authentic this is for you. Our bed was king sized and perfect! I need a king size in my future. The bar was a blast! The restaurant was awesome. Parking was tight but accessible. No complaints from us.

The inn was so quaint and charming with so much history. Rooms were so clean, staff was so friendly, and there was so much to do within a few minutes walk on the inn. Definitely recommend calling a few weeks ahead for dinner reservations, but the bar serves as well. We'll definitely be staying again and recommending it to our friends!

The room was okay - a good size and layout, but a good clean and paint was needed. There was no window, but a great skylight. We found that the shower had little to no hot water most days. In the colder months, the exterior walls in the hallways into the door of the room were VERY drafty.

This was a wonderful place to stay, plus the bar food and atmosphere was excellent! It's a very old inn, so while walls and corners may not be straight (if you're looking for that), the ambience and feeling of being linked to the past was just what I wanted.

The staff at 17Hundred90 are so friendly and accommodating, from the bartenders at the Tavern to the managers at the Inn, to the wait staff in the Restaurant, none of them made a single misstep. We loved our room (301) and the courtyard was an absolutely charming spot to unwind. We find the bed to be extremely comfortable and it was easy to control the temperature of the room. The room was quiet, as well. 17Hundred90 is centrally located, so it was an easy walk to all the hot spots along Broughton, the River, Forsyth Park, and all points in between. No matter where you stay, don't miss the opportunity to make a reservation to have dinner in the restaurant. The food is impeccable! We stayed at the sister property, Godley Manor, in November 2025, and it was also a wonderful stay with great staff. But 17Hundred90 was more to our liking, and we will definitely be returning soon.

The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. Only problem we had was the walls seem very thin so we could hear the conversations of the people next to us clear as day

What was not only good but excellent. First of all the staff was excellent. I want to give a shout-out to “ Grumpy”, he went way beyond the call of duty. He took our luggage up to our room and insisted on NO tip. Who does that? He is just amazing. You need to give him a raise.

On top of that the electrical socket in our bathroom didn’t work so I had to ask for a different hair dryer as the one in the bathroom wouldn’t reach the jimmy rigged extension cord in the main room. The bed was uncomfortable, particularly for my husband as it sagged on his side causing him to roll to the middle. They use scented laundry soap and/or dryer sheets which I am allergic to so I was very itchy during our 3 night stay. We travel a lot, about 1/3 of the year and I rarely have this problem as most hotels and even Air B&Bs these days try to keep things hypoallergenic. And when we checked in we weren’t shown how to use the heater remote so our third night there when the temperature dropped dramatically we froze all night. All in all it was a pretty uncomfortable experience.

this is a wonderful Hotel to stay in. It is walking distance to so many places including the great Savannah Smiles and the river walk area. We parked our car Friday and didn't use it until Sunday when we left. I recommend this Hotel
- 5/5
Just a suggested, such as repainting the walls so there isn't dark stains on it and ceiling the hardwood floors. Hope to stay there again soon but I definitely will not pick the first room again.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean hotel and room. Parking was limited, dining room lovely with piano entertainment the night we had dinner.
- 5/5
Very nice quiet place but still close to everything
- 4/5
Staff was excellent, great location, easy walk to restaurants and attractions.
- 5/5
Loved this space! It felt like what I imaged Savannah was. We loved staying there, and the restaurant was delicious! They were very attentive and I would happily stay here again.
- 5/5
Great staff, unique property, big tub, perfect location.
- 3/5
The first impression of the hotel room was a musty smell. We have stayed at many historic properties, this smell was a first for us. Other things that were noted with our stay were that there were no windows in the room, the furniture was a bit "tired" looking, the chandelier was missing quite a few lightbulbs and the bathroom toilet moved everytime when used, as if it was loose or uneven. The lack of windows was not a deal breaker, it just wasn't expected. We opened the room door to help with the smell. The bed was comfy. Sleep was okay but there was a continual sound of water draining in the wall. We both commented on that in the morning. I did mention this to the front desk. We would most certainly go back to eat at the restaurant or bar. However, the hotel would not be our first choice for future accommodations when in Savannah.
- 5/5
Room 204 was great!
- 5/5
Great location - walkable to everything. The hotel and attached bar are unique and historic as well. Friendly and helpful staff. I’ll stay here again next time I visit.
- 5/5
Great location, room was nice and clean. Staff was excellent!
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful, especially “Grumpy”! Room was very nice, quite clean and roomy. Loved the historical atmosphere—we will definitely be back!
- 5/5
Great place to visit
- 5/5
The room was wonderful. Nice and big worth a huge separate 4 piece bathroom including a big shower and stand alone jacuzzi tub. Everything was spotless. The decor suited the historical period. We were able to see the room before we decided to stay. Excellent restaurant on site. "Grumpy" gave is a short walk around the block outlining some of the area's history. Great location. Easy to walk everywhere in the historic area. We'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Great staff. Quiet neighborhood.
- 5/5
This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the 17hundred90 Inn. I have stayed in Anna’s Room twice. This time we stayed in Room 303, which is really a massive suite. We had the absolute BEST time. Savannah is a magical city and this is my favorite place to stay. We will definitely be back!
- 4/5
The restaurant was great, I ate at the bar twice. The food was delicious, and service the first night was top notch. The second night the food was again excellent but the service was severely lacking. Overall it was apositive experience.
- 2/5
The staff at the 17Hundred90 Inn were very kind during my stay. Unfortunately, I developed more than 30 welts and clusters of round, red, swollen bites throughout my stay from October 29 through November 2, 2025. About an hour before checking out on November 2, my partner and I found a tiny reddish brown bug crawling on the bed sheets. It appeared to be a bed bug. I notified hotel staff, was unable to meet with a manager, and have not received a return call for next steps. I am just concerned that this will affect future guests and negatively impact their health. Since returning home to Maryland, I have gone to a walk-in clinic, confirmed a diagnosis of bed bug bites, and have been prescribed steroids due to a severe allergic reaction to the bites. I am very saddened by this, because I love the city of Savannah itself, but I am deeply disturbed and disappointed in my stay due to my experience.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Everyone is very nice and friendly. I really enjoy staying here this was my fourth time.
- 5/5
The rooms are elegant and full of character, with thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the energy and history of the inn. You can feel the stories in the walls charming, mysterious, and magical all at once. Whether you come for a weekend getaway or a special occasion, 17Hundred90 Inn is truly a gem in Savannah. I can’t wait to return!
- 5/5
great choice among overpriced hotels in Savannah
- 5/5
The inn was wonderful, old classic inn kept in great condition, rooms were nice and conformable. Staff was great, friendly. The restaurant and oub were amazing, fantastic food historic downtown location, walkable to everything.
- 3/5
The HVAC unit was difficult to use. The bed was beautiful but so high that I had to climb on a chair to get onto the bed.
- 5/5
Very cute spot. All the rooms are different but room 201 was gorgeous and huge with a full living room. You get two drinks for the bar downstairs, which is a great way to start your night out. Definitely recommend.
- 3/5
Cons: barely move on bed and loud noise comes. No solid sleep! Old building which we love, but that doesn’t mean the bathrooms should be very outdated, and no shower hot water. Smells in hallways so use diffusers etc. Didn’t like having to ask for room cleaned, TP, coffee etc. That should be a given. Change brand of coffee. It was awful. We’ve stayed in older hotels in Europe where bathrooms were updated, walls touched up with paint, etc. Once stayed at a Motel 6 which was much better!
- 4/5
We stayed at the 17Hundred90 Inn in Savannah, Georgia — room 204, one of the famously haunted rooms. The whole experience had this odd, nostalgic edge… like staying at your mother-in-law’s house with your girlfriend before you’re married. You know that slightly awkward, “should-I-be-here?” kind of feeling? That’s exactly the vibe. The room itself feels old in a charming way — creaky floors, a shower that whistles like it’s calling ghosts to dinner, and that heavy, lived-in atmosphere that only a place from 1790 can have. You can tell keeping up a property like this takes serious effort, and honestly, it adds to the weirdness. The caretakers were exceptionally courteous, polite, and genuinely took care of us. They hand you real metal keys to enter from the outside — totally old-school — which somehow makes the whole experience even better. We left our keys on the nightstand when we left, like travelers from another time. If you’re a ghost hunter or just someone who likes feeling a little unsettled (in a good way), this is definitely your spot. You’ll get all the eerie energy you could want wrapped in Southern hospitality. Now, the restaurant? That’s where the 17Hundred90 really shines. Service and the quality of the food.
- 4/5
Great setting near parks, River St. & historic sites. Limited parking by the Inn… $15 per nite or Street parking for fee. The Staff was very good. Oops… forgot to redeem our free drinks at the bar. We enjoyed our stay…
- 5/5
Great room, engaging staff, fantastic location and a terrific restaurant.
- 5/5
Excellent location and proximity to everything we wanted. Extremely friendly and polite staff. Would have been nice to have a little outdoor space like a courtyard but overall excellent
- 5/5
This is a very quaint property in the historic district. Close to a trolley stop. Staff was exceptional - from Grumpy who helped with parking and carrying all of our bags to the tavern staff. We had a wonderful time and loved our room - 402!! Great price too.
- 5/5
If you're looking for modern, up to date room, this isnt for you. But if you're looking for historic with old romantic flair, this is it! We stayed in room 302. It had a beautiful mural painted on the ceiling that had been there for years. The semi private patio was nice to sit out on. The food was 10/10! We ate at the restaurant our final night. A little pricey but worth every single bite!
- 5/5
Probably the best place to stay in historic Savannah! With tales of hauntings by ghosts and all. Very historic feel but with modern amenities. Love this place.
- 5/5
The staff are incredibly helpful and nice, Nothing is to much trouble. A wonderful stay.
- 5/5
The history and the staff were great. Grumpy is the best welcome guide and personality!!
- 3/5
All in all it was an okay place to stay, I probably wouldn’t stay again.
- 5/5
Extremely attentive staff. The location makes its possible to explore Savannah on foot and I loved that. I enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
The place is amazing! Chris and Grumby made me feel welcome. The tge staff is friendky, place is clean and its readinable. Will be back again.

- 5/5
The best place! Restaurant was fabulous
- 5/5
Dinner was also excellent and our service was exceptional!

This interesting property is in a good location, with parking available, and convenient for local sights, shops and restaurants. We had a friendly welcome, lovely room, and nice dinner in the restaurant. Would highly recommend.
- 1/5
Rm 102 was very musty, dirty and black mold in ac vent , wall above it , bathroom floor, drawer in bathroom where we found wet rag used to wash sink and molded shower mat. We bagged it up and left it for housekeeping. Moved to a room in the “ guest house” 401” which was beach themed having NOTHING to do with the Inn ambiance I had booked. And black mold met us there also and our cable and ac were shut down while we still had two nights left. Poor customer service and the management takes no responsibility in the rooms as “ We don't have time to check all the rooms !” You only have 17 in the Inn perhaps do your job as manager … poor excuse for filth and black mold in the two rooms we were given… ruined a once in a lifetime vacation!
- 3/5
Very cool old property near everything in Savannah. The only issue was that it is run down and our room didn't have a window (I didn't think to check the reservation, I didn't know that was a thing). The room was run down and smelly really musty.
- 5/5
Older hotel with great history and outstanding restaurant. The owner visited with us a number of times in lobby area. Rooms are fine, older individual furnished, but need attention. Easy walk to River one way and Cathederal the other. Hotel has history of ghosts!
- 5/5
Historic building, walking distance from many interesting sights
- 5/5
Excellent staff, location to Savannah highlights!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay with this property for our one year wedding anniversary. Really convenient area. Our room was gorgeous and unique. I definitely will be back to stay again.
- 5/5
I would highly recommend
- 5/5
We had a great stay at 17hundred90 Inn. The food in the tavern was excellent. Rebecca and Patrick at the bar were fantastic. We will definitely come back and stay again.
- 5/5
Our stay was delightful. The room was charming and comfortable and the staff was hospitable, friendly, and helpful, they went above and beyond to make our stay great. I accidentally left behind my t-shirt wrapped up in the bedding and they called me shortly after leaving to let me know. We stayed in Room 203 and definitely had some ghostly experiences. The first night, we heard things getting knocked around in the bathroom, and the second night I felt someone sit on the edge of the bed on top of my legs. I was groggy, so initially I thought it was my cat curling up on my legs like he does every night--then I remembered I was not at home so it could not have been my cat! I felt something brush against my face and opened my eyes to find the covers had been thrown way up over my head. Upon leaving, we called out a goodbye to the ghosts and the lights flickered. Perhaps it was just electrical stuff, but who knows. We make a point of finding haunted hotels whenever we travel and this one did not disappoint. We even got an odd picture in the hallway which I will post here. Just to note, my phone has never done anything like this in a photo and maybe there is an explanation with lighting, etc. but we thought it was pretty interesting!
- 5/5
We absolutely loved it there and Chris and all the staff were phenomenal. Our dinner at the 1790 our last night was spectacular and we really enjoyed the time in the bar as well. This is truly a unique and wonderful place.
- 5/5
We had such a wonderful stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was incredible. The location is extremely walkable throughout Savannah. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
The historic feel of the hotel was very unique and one we thoroughly enjoyed. Patrick gave us a quick tour through the homes and was very informative. The staff was also pleasant when we stopped by the bar and restaurant. Would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
The room was lovely, but could use a bit of an update. Bathroom lights need to be brighter. It would be nice if they would have a small corner table to put our stuff on in the bathroom and a hook on the door for our robes. I think the remote needed new batteries for the tv. No biggie though. Also if they could mabe use some sort of diffuser scents to defer the strong old smell. I do realize it's old and we loved the history behind it and all. Also loved the furnishings. But I think they can improve this a bit with these suggestions. We did enjoy staying there.
- 5/5
All the staff is great
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was beautiful but had a couple issues. The hallway outside the bedroom had an unsecured attic access door and ladder which was making me so anxious and unsafe (the bedroom door also doesn't lock) I went out and bought temporary intruder alarms to stick on the doors so I could sleep. I didn't bring it up to the staff at the time but I'm sure they would have been more than willing to accommodate me somehow. But otherwise, it was a beautiful room and would definitely stay here again. I'll just make sure to bring my alarms next time 😁.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay. Will go back
- 5/5
This was our second time staying at this Inn, and we loved it just as much as the first time. It is in a great location, we walked everywhere we went, and the vibe is perfect for us. We will definitely come back.
- 3/5
Great location! Room was smaller than expected. Very musty smell and needs some updating as the furniture and rug were old and stained. The room was clean. It just didn’t feel clean because everything was old. No furniture to sit on to watch TV. Small refrigerator was beside the toilet. We frequently visit Savannah, but this has been our least favorite place to stay so far.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel. Very welcoming staff and beautiful rooms. We will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
The Inn and the surrounding area has plenty of history. Savannah is a laid back relaxing area. The Inn was within walking distance of everything thing we wanted to see. Staff is excellent and friendly. The room had everything we required for our short stay.
- 5/5
Wonderful trip…be sure to eat at the 1790 restaurant!
- 5/5
Wonderful historic hotel! Staff was helpful, bar was fun, and it is in a great location to everywhere in Savannah. Highly recommend, if stairs aren't an issue. We had a great time!
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
Historic feel loved the staff especially grumpy
- 5/5
My girlfriend and I arrived to a very friendly establishment. The place was very clean, and organized. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on the pub that is associated to the establishment was very exciting and drinks were very delicious. It is nestled in the historic area of Savannah and in walking distance to surrounding sightseeing courtyards. This will be a hotel that I’m sure they will be revisiting.
- 4/5
The hotel was very cozy. The room was very pretty and felt old-fashion.
- 5/5
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The manager, Chris, was very personable, the onsite 17Hundred90 restaurant was amazing, and the room was very comfortable. The location was excellent, as it only took us 10 minutes to walk to the riverfront. We stayed in room 104 which was right above the registration desk and restaurant so it was somewhat noisy until the restaurant closed at 10 pm. We also appreciated having a parking space on the inn’s property. The room was very clean and spacious, with a large comfortable bed and two upholstered chairs. Hot water was readily available and the mini fridge was nice to have, especially with the freezer compartment for our cooler ice packs.
- 4/5
If you like a blast to the past, comfort, and great food, this place was very nice. The staff is all super wonderful, especially Grumpy…he was a great gentleman. Definitely would recommend this place if you like history and old stuff. Really had a great time there.
- 5/5
Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay at the Seventeen Ninety! Room 305 is very charming and well put together. It even has original furniture from when the room was built in 1858! I decided to pay for the onsite parking which was super handy. We’ll definitely be back in the future.
- 5/5
The location was walkable to everything I wanted to do - pretty perfect really. Sadly, no ghosts were seen or heard. But maybe next time!
- 5/5
Our 5th stay at the 17 Hundred 90, and it didn't disappoint. Everything from the friendly service, to the comfort of the bed, and the location is excellent. We were just sorry to miss seeing Grumpy this time; but Barbara and Martha are top-notch! It's our top choice when in Savannah!
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time staying at 17Hundred90 and will definitely be back for future visits to Savannah. Every member of staff (especially Grumpy) was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made our visit special. We wanted small and historic with a potential side of spooky, and the inn delivered. What a bonus the tavern was too—while we didn't get a chance to dine in the restaurant, we'll make a point to do so next time.
- 4/5
- 5/5
The whole staff is extremely helpful and polite, Fantastic place to have a vacation at. Would recommend to anyone and will stay again.
- 5/5
Love this place
- 3/5
Great location and friendly staff. I can certainly appreciate the old feel of the hotel but it could use a bit of updating and detailed cleaning. With that said, we enjoyed our stay there.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, seems like they would go above and beyond for their guests and patrons
- 3/5
First off the staff was very freindly and helpful. Grumpy the handyman showed us around and helped us with parking and even helped take luggage upstairs to our room. I knew that the property had no elevators so I can't really blame them for that but it was very inconvenient. The inside smelled very musty but I know its an old building. If you like modern conveniences and amenities this won't be for you. My husband hated it. We were awaken at 4:00 am each night and we stayed for two nights with a very loud sound coming from the air conditioning unit plus it was leaking too. We had to turn it off and put the fan on. The handyman said it was probably defrosting lol. The last night we stayed I heard a strange noise like a plastic water bottle being squeezed . I don't know if there was a presence in the room but it was very strange. The air worked fine and only made the noise at 4 am which was weird too . The restaraunt was great though the filet Mignon melted like butter in your mouth and we got two free drink vouchers when we checked in to use at the bar. All and all I wouldn't stay again. Its just not my cup of tea. I love old buildings ,antiques and history but I need my modern conveniences. Its an experience I can look back on but just know if you stay here your gonna be thugging it out lol. The creepy vibes weren't for me either but it may not bother some people
- 4/5
Room 203 had a loud constant humming noise coming from ventilation in the corridor, made it difficult to relax.
- 5/5
We loved our stay! Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
This was our 1st time staying at 17hundred90 inn but it won’t be the last. I was sold on room 102 based off the bed which was amazing. The room has no windows so it’s hard to determine how early it is. The staff was great. We made reservations at the restaurant and dinner was great. The 2 free drinks were a welcome surprise and we spent some time at the bar our last night where the bartender is amazing. Highly recommend
- 5/5
I absolutely loved this stay, it’s was close to everything, felt like an immersive experience you’d get with a bnb but as a hotel. We will absolutely be back.
- 3/5
.
- 5/5
We definitely be back for a longer stay. Perfect place to stay while in Savannah, GA.
- 5/5
Loved the local bar with good reasonable drinks and awesome food. Our room had no windows and the bathroom was very dated worn in.
- 3/5
Placed in the guest house. Not sure maintenance knew the room was being used. Cabinets needed dusting on the inside. Price was great so mu tolerance was high. Loved the jacuzzi and location. Very historic and quiet. Would use again.
- 5/5
It's was a sweet, little quiet room, with a deep soaking tub. Add off Street parking and easy walking anywhere in the city and a cute little coffee shop right around the corner and it's the great place to spend your time not exploring this great city.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing! Martha and Zac were fabulous. The regulars at the bar were so inviting, informative and entertaining! If we are ever in Savannah agian, we would definatley stay at 17hundred90!
- 5/5
We loved every bit of our stay.
- 5/5
Very good location and quaint rooms.
- 5/5
Awesome staff awesome food and just a cool area to stay in
- 3/5
We have been going there for a lot of years. Unfortunately, we notice the reduction of amenities. No more continental breakfast, minimal bath towels, etc.
- 5/5
Charming Inn and Restaurant. Exceptional food and comfortable accommodations with antique and period appropriate furnishings. This is our go to Inn!
- 3/5
I was so excited to stay here because of website. We were very disappointed that the guest house where we stayed seemed to have been forgotten. Allot of disrepair and turned into a storage facility. Housekeeping was nonexistent, they didn’t even come by to empty trash. The main Inn and the people were nice.
- 5/5
I loved this beautiful, historic inn. The room was roomy and comfortable. The staff were wonderful. The restaurant was amazing!
- 5/5
The service was absolutely outstanding. Dinner in the restaurant was amazing. I simply cannot say enough about the staff. They were all friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable.
- 5/5
Great room and staff that went beyond expected to assist.
- 5/5
Lovely place. Restaurant was amazing as well.
- 5/5
Had dinner at the restaurant and they give you two free drinks at the bar. Food was very good and the restaurant ambiance was classy but not snooty. This property is a stop on several of the walking tours around the historic district so the tavern brings in a lot of fun people getting a drink. I would love to stay here again one day!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. The room was large and comfortable. Loved the character of the inn. The bar was great. Nice atmosphere and great service. Very convenient location.
- 4/5
Room was uncomfortably warm. AC couldn't keep the room cool. Was 80 degrees most of the time.
- 5/5
Charming inn, quaint bar. Grumpy was the best!
- 5/5
We enjoy
- 4/5
Loved staying here, sleeping got hot though as the thermostat was positioned directly underneath the vent.
- 5/5
Got an amazing room
- 5/5
We had a lovely dinner and comfortable room
- 5/5
Everyone at the property was very friendly and helpful. The owner walked us around the restaurant and gave us the history of the restaurant/inn. What a great way to start the day! The room was like we stepped back in time…unique and beautiful. Great experience!
- 5/5
Everything about this place was an unforgettable experience! The staff was warm and inviting and the home was amazing! Dinner was incredible .. u have to try the crab cakes! We can’t wait to come back next year!
- 5/5
Such a beautiful and unique place! Very conveniently located. We had a wonderful stay.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
We arrived late at night and still received such a nice welcome, and good service. We loved the location being within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go, and the historic inn was quiet, and clean.
- 5/5
Repeat stay. Always a very nice and pleasant experience.
- 4/5
Pros: location, price, staff, restaurant and bar Cons: the buildings and some furnishings show their age, wifi was very weak in our guest building and there’s no cable tv to catch up on the news. Streaming tv attempts were very inconsistent due to the wifi issue.
- 5/5
We stayed in rooms next to the restaurant and their very cool bar. Room clean, soft bed, Beautiful decor, so quaint! Loved everything about it. Check in easy, employees attentive, and helpful.
- 5/5
The Inn is a great place to visit in Savannah. Close to everything and the food and beverage couldn’t be better. The bar is outstanding with wonderful service and ambience. I highly recommend you stay here for a truly wonderful experience. Barbara and Grumpy treat everyone very well.
- 5/5
Amazing! Within walking distance to everything we needed or wanted.
- 5/5
Very thin walls
- 3/5
Issue was the vents were black / maybe mold or dirty and sheets felt very cheap and not comfortable. If these issues could be addressed we would give the inn a very good recommendation.
- 5/5
Greeted with complete hospitality by the registration's person (whose name I cannot recall). He even helped us carry our luggage up to our room. The room was spacious, clean, and very unique with period charm. The location is great and very walkable to all the city has to offer.
- 5/5
Our stay was great. Chris at the desk was so nice and accommodating! The hotel has so much history that he explained to us on the way to our room and the room was absolutely stunning! Amazing place to stay if you travel to Savannah!
- 5/5
The 17Hundred90 Inn was my favorite hotel out of every one we stayed at on our recent cross-country journey. The character, homey feeling, friendly staff, and location were perfect. I cannot recommend this property enough!

This is a good location, three short blocks to River Street. This is a very old property with lots of charm. It needs some TLC. The staff is terrific.

The check in process was very easy with the staff being very courteous and helpful. While the room and property were good some aspects were a little worn. Noticeable but didn't detract from the experience at all. The helper/handyman (nickname Grumpy) was anything but. He was so helpful and friendly! He added greatly to our enjoyment of our stay. It's very handy having a lounge and restaurant on site. Would recommend and would stay again!

Amazing hotel in the heart of Savannah’s historic district. Above and beyond staff and beautiful room. Didn’t see any ghosts but heard there’s a few.

We enjoyed our stay at the historic 17hundred90 Inn right in downtown Savannah! Staff were super friendly and kind. So cool to be able to be in Room 204, or the most haunted part!

Authentic historic Savannah stay. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 314 - very spacious! We would return for our next trip to Savannah. Very easily walkable to many parks and the riverfront area.

I have never had an easier check in. Chris was amazing. He not only made you feel welcomed, he helped take our luggage to our room. The only reason I have this hotel a good is because the bar staff wasn’t very friendly.

The 17Hundred90 Inn and Restaurant is a quaint hotel that is walking distance to the waterfront and trolly hop-on-hop- off location. We also enjoyed the restaurant. The food was delicious.

Felt like a local

On the other hand, the location was convenient for anything you wanted to do in the historic district. Very walkable and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. The party areas of the city were close enough to enjoy without the added noise. We did not have a car, so we don’t know about parking.

17Hundred90 is a small but delightful place to stay in the Savannah historic district. Well placed in a walkable area to experience Savannah. Owners and staff were helpful and friendly. And it has a cozy "Cheers" like pub to unwind in.

The check in experience was wonderful. Chris was great. Our room 207 was lovely and quaint. We dined at the 1790 restaurant downstairs - it was wonderful. Everything is easy - checkin/out, location, parking. Lovely tavern afterwards. We actually left something in the room; and were so impressed that housekeeping let Chris know, and he called us, so we could pick it up! Can’t say enough about the service and comfort. Will definitely return and recommend.
