We stayed in main complex and daughter and son-in-law stayed on the hillside in a lovely room. If you have plans to go to Sausalito make plans to stay here. Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa. For sure…and the attached restaurant, Poggio Trattoria, was outstanding,..for a meal, cocktails in the afternoon and coffee early in the morning. (Try the panini breakfast sandwich!) The bay is right across the street…a great stroll.

I had an incredible view of the water over to Tiburon and the skyline of San Francisco but I don’t think many rooms have both of those views.

This is a little gem in Sausalito. My husband and I met in San Francisco 35 years ago. We decided to revisit this area again and was so delighted to find this beautiful hotel to remember and to create new memories. What a delightful place beautiful in every way.!

It was our anniversary and they upgraded us to a balcony view room and a bottle of wine in the room. The staff were amazing. We will definitely stay here next time.

Great hotel, and staff! The location is centrally located, and walking distance from everything. There is a restaurant right next door- Poggio - which will not let you down, and you can charge your food to the room. The grounds are well maintained and rooms are kept clean. Negatives? Parking is across the street and there is no room service. Yes, the hotel is located on a main street, but honestly, not a busy street

Location, location, location - restaurant Poggio was also very good We didn’t really like that the elevator was not running as we were on the fourth floor. Took them more than a day to fix it. Also, the place seems to be a bit rundown and needs a refurbish. We did not think that it was good value for the money.

Great location and views. The front desk was friendly and helpful but didn't give me a rundown on the property when I arrived, so I had no idea how to find the spa or fitness center.

Room was dingy and loud. Badly in need of an update, new furniture and floors. Especially in need of new windows and doors with soundproofing.

To make matters worse, the room keys did not work on three separate occasions, forcing us to repeatedly make the long trip back down to the lobby to have them reprogrammed. The entire experience was exhausting, inconvenient, and far below expectations.

Offer breakfast, partner with someone local. Take a page from your competition it’s not hard.

This property is in the center of Sausalito. It’s beautiful and th rooms are outstanding. Restaurants are all around you. Wine tastings, excellent food, gorgeous shops of high quality artistic goods. We loved this hotel.

Bed comfy, bathtub amazing, staff friendly, the area itself was fun to wander around with the family. Room was very small, sent a message through Hotels.com before arrival that no one responded to, called hotel and nobody answered. Was disspointed for the price how tiny it was. View was ok, but not worth the price. Hotel room very noisy during early mornings from the street traffic. GPS took me to the back of property down a extremely steep windy road to a parking lot and had no idea how to get to lobby.

We stayed in the suite which had its own balcony. Amazing views of the Bay. And it is in the heart of Sausalito walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Public transportation is available right away.

The location was perfect— we were away from the crowds and Sausalito was very charming. The loft rooms felt bigger than the average king bed room. The mattress could have been softer, but that wasn’t a deal breaker. And the tub in one of the rooms didn’t stopper properly.

Beautiful place with a great view of Sausalito. We stayed in a cottage and it was perfect! Convenient location near great restaurants and shops and the ferry to SF and other Bay Area locations. Highly recommend. We will be back!

- at arrival I went upstairs in person and apparently the ONLY spa worker was busy and no one was there to take an appointment. I asked a hotel worker to hunt someone down for help and later was told they were all busy. I left a phone message which was not returned for an appointment. THEN FINALLY a WORKER PHONED MY HOTEL ROOM - SHE SPENT 8 MINUTES YELLING AT ME THAT I WAS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE. Ok I am Japanese - so my Husband from Chicago got on the phone and SHE told HIM HE WAS NOT COMMUNICATING Correctly. This is a Racist, Mean, Lazy, nasty SPA! I will never return to CASA MADRONA

My wife and I enjoyed our visit so much that we extended it. The restaurant, Poggio, is the best we've found in Sausalito, our two-level room was exceptionally comfortable, the front desk (Jim) went out of their way to assist with our extended stay, and the location couldn't be better. Simply walking across the street to the ferry terminal gave us 30-minute access to San Francisco and cable cars--as well as a beautiful trip across the bay. We will certainly stay there again anytime we're in the Bay Area.

Great location. Easy to find and pretty easy to park. If getting there late, easier to park in hotel parking across the street. Self parking is a bit less expensive than valet. Otherwise, early am easy to find street parking. There was nothing really wrong, just not a spectacular stay. Rooms were a bit small, but we chose a more economical room as we were just there for the night.

The location is good. The staff is friendly. Temp control was great. The rooms and baths are tired and in desperate need of a refresh. The mattress is uncomfortable; and the walls are paper thin—so much so we could hear soft conversation from the room next door.

The AC in the room only blew hot air making the room unlivable. They changed the room which had ants in the bathroom and uncomfortable sofa bed that couldn’t be used as a bed at night.

The room was beautiful. Two inconvenients: room 607 was 73 stairs up from 4th floor, the highest level the elevator takes you, and there is no bar at the hotel. We probably won't be back.

The location is fantastic. I loved being in the historic section of the hotel. I didn't ask enough questions about use of spa. I guess that when I read it was only open from Thursday to Sunday, I figured everything was closed. Maybe I could have used the steam room. Not sure.

Nice, cozy, and charming historical hotel. Unfortunately, there was a sewer smell in the hallway, maybe from an issue from their basement, which was unpleasant at first but improved the next day. The wet sauna was great, and the view was beautiful.

Ii didn't receive the room that was shown on line the room that I had paid a little extra for. And was not given an option to change. The room that I did get was pleasant though. If i stay there again I will call directly to verify the room shown is the room you get. I must say though maid service everyday with out asking is very nice in this post covid evviroment.

The room was small and the desk to work on was too small to work on. Had to go to the lobby to work. Otherwise everything and everyone was great.

After staying a couple nights in a closet(hotel room) in San Francisco it was such a pleasure to come here. Our room was spacious and had a view to die for. My husband and I enjoyed the hotel and the restaurant so much we will definitely be back!

Casa Madrona is a beautiful hotel. We did a "self upgrade" to a beautiful room over looking the water. The room seemed fairly new, however when we got to the room there was cigarette dust on the chair and many of the walls were scuffed. We stayed for 2 days and the first day the cleaning people didn't arrive until 4PM when we were resting for a long day out. We rescheduled them to 5PM so we could rest. The next day we put out a do not disturb card from 3:30 - 4:30 and no one came to clean the room at all. Very disappointing for >$500/night "boutique" hotel. You think they would have a check list to ensure all rooms are cleaned.

My room was dirty and had over the counter medicine on the floor in the bedroom. My room was in a courtyard with no views other than the building in front of it. I got a free small bottle of Proseco, but I don’t drink! I’ve stayed here before, but this was the last time. Nothing has improved, it’s just gotten worse.

The room was super cozy and comfortable and the food in the restaurant downstairs, Poggio’s was exquisite! Great waiting staff! Some curt (possibly towards melanin(?)) than others but overall phenomenal service!

An incredibly beautiful place with a great location. Gorgeous view. Bed was a little uncomfortable. Be prepared to walk many steps. It’s on a hill. There is an elevator for the 1st to 4th flr. I was on the 6th.if you’re squeamish about driving hills, valet park it and take the elevator up.

The suite was a large space, comfortable and clean. Many excellent restaurants within walking distance. Poggios is right next door and is open at 6:30 am for breakfast and late for dinner. Great food!

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. Class, convenient, spectacular views of the water, particularly from our room. Highly recommended but you are in California by the water and prices will reflect that.

3) No breakfast or lounge areas. Other than that the view was beautiful but self parking was terrifying...a very steep one way in/out roller coaster drive! I would not recommend for family (more than 2). If you are willing to pay lots of $$ for just the view, then this is for you.

The property is really quite beautiful, and the rooms have spectacular views and are quite large.

Celebrated my husband's birthday getaway in Casa Madrona & we loved everything about our stay. Beautiful Hillside Lower Cottage with a spacious balcony we didn't expect, located in a very strategic location. We practically never used our car going to different restaurants & cafes, enjoying the leisure walks to & fro. Staff was accommodating & very friendly & warm (shoutout to Jim & Jack!). We shall definitely come back and stay here in the future.

Beautiful town and views from our very clean room were wonderful. Lots of photos. We loved it. From the moment we checked in and throughout our entire stay the staff was great! I should have wrote down his name but he checked us in and was there each day and checked us out. He was the best! Made our stay that much better! Thank you very much.

Great location, dated hotel rooms & furnishings. Liked the patio on the rooms but overall just felt run down.

Lovely one night stay in a spacious mansion room. The property is lovely and a great location.

We have stayed here many times and loved it. The last two times we have had some negative experiences. When we stayed last year, there was no heat in the bathroom. It was absolutely freezing. Over Memorial Day weekend, our bathroom was heated but smelled strongly like marijuana. I don’t like the smell myself and really don’t want my two kids staying in a room like that. We told staff and they brought a spray, but that was it. Kinda crappy for a birthday weekend.

Lovely stay.

Staff friendly. Cons. No bar or restaurant. Need to go out for coffee in the morning (although there are pods in the room). Not really a problem as there are lots of alternatives in town. But if you are one for a late night cocktail in a hotel bar. You will be disappointed
