Holiday Inn Express & Suites Santa Clara by IHG

The hotel was newly refurbished, modern, and very clean. Our room facing the parking lot was extremely quiet, and it had the most effective blackout window coverings we've ever seen. In the lobby there are inexpensive drinks and snacks available, as well as free coffee and tea. The breakfast included a variety of items including hot foods. The staff members were pleasant and helpful. The location is very convenient with stores and restaurants close by.

The room was big, the hotel easy to get in and out of with good parking. We ended up in a room with 2 queens because they were out of king rooms. There was only one table between the beds with outlets and lamps. This means the person on the other side of the bed couldn’t read in bed or have electronics. There was a desk but only 2 outlets nearby and one had the desk lamp and the other had the television. The room was pretty corporate looking. A lot of food for breakfast but spongy eggs and the little cinnamon rolls has a strange taste. My husband wondered how they could find oranges that tasteless in California.

The hotel REEKED of bleach smell and it was nauseating to be in the hallways or the lobby.

Amazing stay. Everything surpassed my expectations. If I could suggest ANYTHING I would say improve your options to some of your breakfast items; specifically the potatoes.

Breakfast was good. First impression of the hotel was the very strong smell of pinesol in the lobby. Not good The staff was pleasant. We didn't use any of the facilities other than the morning breakfast. That was good. For what we paid. 199.00 for one night I expected a little nicer hotel. We were ground floor & person above us kept us up late. Then the person next door did the same. 10pm & could hear staff talking real loud in the lobby. Don't expect a good night sleep.

The pillows were all too firm and the shower pressure was very low. Beyond those two complaints, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was amazing and super friendly/helpful, and the free breakfast was awesome. Would I stay here again? Yes.

The staff was good, but, I guess they don't come in to check your room for coffee stock. They did have the coffee downstairs which was good. The coffee in the room was also good but never restocked. I guess if we needed clean towels we would have had to ask for them. The staff and food in the breakfast area were very good.

I loved the location close to Santana Row and restaurants, and the hotel lobby/breakfast was very clean. I found a pair of men's underwear in one of the drawers in my room, which was gross.

Bathroom didn't even have a toilet brush.Fridge was exceptionally noisy in the room. 2 days of something beeping in the hall ( low battery fire alm perhaps ). Did not get a good nights sleep entire stay. Won't be back.

The motel is currently going through minor renovations as of 12/11/2024. Overall the motel is pleasing to the eye, cleanliness and decor. The breakfast was great (revolving hot items such as 2 omelettes(cheese, egg whites w veggie, or cheese and ham), 2 types of sausages(turkey or pork) or bacon. There are the usual cold cereal of 3 choices and fruits (banana and orange). Lots of danish pastries. Hot oatmeal. There is a mini-frig with various items (yogurt, hard boiled eggs, small water bottles, and maybe some other things). The only negative is the sound. It is close to the airport, so gets loud when planes take off or land. You can hear TV playing or people walking upstairs. I would stay here again.

Honestly pretty great hotel. It was quiet and clean, check in was really easy. The breakfast was well stocked and had a lot of options. My only complaint is that after getting off the elevator to my second floor room I still had to drag my suitcase up 12 stairs to get to my room.

Breakfast room was small but adequate, Breakfast itself was adequate for our needs. Onsite parking was good. Only problem we had was the presence of two Holiday Inns in Santa Clara which meant we ended up in a different hotel to our relatives Nothing

Construction all down the hallway on the other side with a bad smell of blue or something gives two of us headaches. We had two rooms. Construction should not be allowed like that. They should close that wing.

I was wrongly charged for a smoking deposit. The hotel is charging me 300.00 for something that I did not do. The room has a smoke detectors, if I smoked the smoke detector would’ve went off.

It was above and beyond my expectation. Every part of the room is so clean and the room smells good. One of the most comfortable hotels we stayed in. Keep it that way!

This hotel is very nice, I’ve stayed before however they were under construction and that was not noted when booking a room. The construction wasn’t too loud however, they had most of the construction vehicles parked in the parking lot making it where there was not enough room to park for guests. I also was booked in the handicap room and did not need to be.

We walked into a construction site. Stepped over tape, tools, and other trash to get to the elevator. Hallways smell like backed up sewage. Incredibly disappointing.

The space between the desk and the bed is so tiny that it's super hard to even sit on the chair. The fridge was so loud that I had to unplug because it woke me up at 5am. I thought they were doing road constructions

Beds were comfortable, view was beautiful and the breakfast was wonderful. Best part was the walking trail along the water. I had only very positive interactions with the staff. It’s a great option for easy access to SFO.

The manager upgraded us when the room was not elevator accessible. There was a fire alarm the first night at 1:30am where the fire department was called. We received no apology or anything from the management. Elevator still not working the day of checkout.

It was clean and quiet with friendly and helpful staff. Many dining options within walking distance and a short drive to SAP Center and downtown. Stayed here on a week-long business trip. Room and bed were comfortable, but the wifi network was not up to expectation ... slow and difficult to stay connected. Reported on Monday and was still slow on Friday, so seems like more than just a router reset is needed.

Book a 2 double bed room , thinking it was two queens and it is 2 full size beds. Also founds someone else dirty socks on floor. Location was good for Winchester mystery. Breakfast was fine for a free meal. Vending machine Didn’t work on second floor. Next visit we will stay somewhere else.

I like that the property is always quiet. I frequently stay here. One of the negatives this time was I stayed 4 nights and they did not have housekeeping. While it was nice to not have someone in my room each day, at least they should empty the garbage and re-fill the coffee each day as I had to do this.

Overall I would have to say it was a nice place to stay. 2 weeks prior we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express on our way to Yosemite. We got there before their check in time at 3pm and was told I can’t check in until 3pm which was fine. We sat in the parking lot for a good 30 minutes trying to figure out what we should do for the day. As we were sitting in the parking lot, another customer walked in with his luggage in tow and was allowed to check in.

This is a very quiet property to stay at. I am a light sleeper but it has always been a quiet room for me (I always stay here when in Santa Clara). I will continue to come back. Food service opened up and that is also very good with good options.

Disappointing visit. Arrived at checking in time. Room was not cleaned due to staff shortage. Came back at 9 pm tired from day. Bought room from Hotel. Com . When assigned a room realized our bed was a full . Too tired to complain.

This hotel is nice, and the breakfast was decent for covid-era. Popeyes is right next door. And we were placed on the end right above the drive through. Fortunately Popeyes closes at 10… it is definitely noisy and would disturb someone napping or trying to go to bed early. Otherwise, nice place.

Good property near the Winchester Mystery House. Although the breakfast was not good due to covid I guess. Beds were good and the clerks at the front desk were friendly and professional.

The hotel seemed designed mostly for business travelers. No pool and only a small workout room, but otherwise the facility was very clean and the staff friendly. I only wish the breakfast room was open, but that's because of covid, not the hotel. Overall a nice stay.

Convenient location, though on busy street. Good access to Santa Clara University. Comfortable room and nice overall facility. Breakfast is currently bags to go; items are on display and the staff person bags what you want.

I didnt like that after checking in we walked all the way to the room to find out our key didnt work to open the door.

Clean, Comfortable and Conveniently located hotel not too far from the airport, ROKU and future Verizon Media Headquarters. Walking distance to food and shopping in a safe location. Room was clean and comfortable with grate mattress. One Note: Rooms 201 to 206 require you to access via 10 stairs in the hallway, so if you are carrying a heavy bag you may want to request a different room. - And they provided a descent hot breakfast during COVID as well.
