THIS HOTEL IS UNDER EXTREME CONSTRUCTION! Nothing told us before we checked in! When we checked in the lobby was dirty, noisy, plastic sheets blocked doors, pool was closed. Bar was open but was closing early. Our room was VERY small. We were a party of 3. Got one King bed and a sofa bed which wouldn't open until we called the front desk and she had to work to get it down. When it was down, it was so close to the wall and King Bed end that she had to scoot down to bottom of bed to get out of fold down sofa! There was not room for 3 persons with luggage etc. 0ur front door got stuck and front desk had to come back up to get it fixed. All in all, a horrible last night in Richmond! When I booked, I had read all about the hotel on the website and Expedia and NOTHING was mentioned about any renovations being done at this hotel! Thanks so much for refunding our money!

The property is under construction and this information was not disclosed until we got to the property. The. Construction workers worked during the night at 11pm and later and we could hear them sawing and banging on the floor below us. They are renovating the second floor and we were on the third floor. The next morning we came down for breakfast and was told they ended it at 9am due to no one come down prior to 9am. The room was decent but the overall look of the hotel and parking lot was not ideal. Had I known the property was under construction I would not have stayed there. Unfortunately I booked 2 nights because I was in town for a family wedding.

Easily the worst, most run-down Courtyard I’ve ever stayed in. Stained furniture & carpets. Mold on ceiling. No warning that it was under renovation. Horrid.

They are doing a much needed upgrade to the property. The rooms were very outdated and very visible signs of wear and tear throughout the rooms. Construction was being done on the second floor and could be heard within the rooms on the first floor. There was an indoor pool that was supposed to be heated but wasn’t. But the staff was nice. It was fine for an overnight stay, but would not have stayed there if my trip was any longer due to the construction and old rooms.

The location was great. Very convenient to where I needed to be as well as the proximity to the other hotels where friends stayed was extremely convenient. We got to the hotel at 2:30 pm, after our event to get settled. Everything seemed fine. We headed back out. Upon our return, we pulled out the sofa bed and a used linen was still on it. In addition there were crumbs on the bedsheet. Which tells me housekeeping did not pull out the sofa bed. In the bathroom, there was red balled up hair on the floor. I, nor my children have red hair. It was late and we were extremely tired. So I removed the linen, Lysol’d the bed and placed new linens from the closet. We checked out at 6:00 am Sunday. I called the hotel to share my concerns, but as of today, no one has called back.

Experience at check-in was excellent. Front desk greeter answered all my questions immediately and accurately. Room was clean and ready. My only issue was the A/C temperature fluctuations. Airport shuttle was punctual on-the-dot. Will definitely stay again in the future.

I am glad the place is getting remodeled. I really hope you are updating the entire bathroom and the lighting. The support/headboard pillows are also very sad and tired. The elevator is scary. The staff is great though! They were helpful and responsive!

Absolutely nothing Hotel was disgusting everything including the roof was falling apart and started leaking on me and my son Hotel shut the water off on us without asking or giving us notice which made it hard to shower had to use water bottles Hotel front desk staff was extremely unprofessional computer was not fixed so I had to try to fix the printer myself front desk staff stated that computers behind the desk was locked and he could not print for me but when other staff came in they stated that they can print for us since the computers are down if they had negative stars to rate this hotel I will give them negative ratings this hotel is definitely not worth the money manager Justin promised to comp one of my nights and still has not yet done it and it's been 4 weeks worst hotel and they have bugs in the room this is equivalent to a motel 6 my baby was itching the whole stay which i have proof of

I was then told the only way to request the shuttle was through the Bonvoy app. Unfortunately, because the reservation was made under my email but in my mother’s name, the app wouldn’t allow me to access it. The agents repeatedly told me there was nothing they could do because I booked through Expedia rather than directly through Marriott. As a longtime Marriott member, it was incredibly frustrating to feel like I was being treated as a lesser guest simply because of the booking channel—especially when I was still staying at a Marriott property. Ultimately, I was instructed to take an Uber and “ask for reimbursement,” but again told it was solely up to the manager’s discretion and that they might refuse because I booked through Expedia. After all of this, I was left with no clear solution, no assistance, and no reliable way to reach the hotel for the shuttle I was supposed to be able to use. This experience left me feeling stranded, dismissed, and deeply disappointed. It has made me question staying with Marriott in the future if this is the level of support provided when something as simple as contacting the hotel.

How close to the airport it was How uncommonly and disgusting my room was. I genuinely thought I was gonna get hepatitis getting in the shower so we didn’t shower and the noises from the HVAC were so loud that we left early.

From the very first moment the staff was very polite friendly. Clean lobby area and the was very comfortable. Best part never been to a hotel where they had mints waiting for you The tub paint was kinda peeling and could use a longer shower curtain if your going to keep the bath tub. I know renovations are happening so im not really upset as its probably hasn't been done in the room that I was in

The shower in my room had the worst water pressure that I have ever experienced. The water maybe made it 1/4 length of the tub. Not exceptaple for a hotel. I could have saved money and stayed at a motel. Also the indoor pool was out of order.

We ordered a Starbucks coffee drink in the morning from the coffee bar, and it tasted awful. So glad it was only one night. We will not be returning.

There was no coffee station in lobby only coffee at the Bistro opened at 630. Staff was great and gave me a coffee at the bistro as I did not have a coffee cup in my room because we used the two we had the evening before. Staff was wonderful! Fire alarm went off and we evacuated was the only drawback to our night.

The downside was waiting for an hour and a half for transportation to the hotel. There was a storm that canceled all the flights and several hotels share the couple of vans. We were very tired and wanted to get to our room but it seemed to take forever! I would have made other arrangements if I had known it was going to take so long. They need to make better plans when this happens. It was unreasonable the amount of time we waited. We would have done better to get an Uber to a hotel further away. The next morning, we had no problem getting to the airport. It took five minutes! The room was comfortable but I’m not doing that again!!!

We were very comfortable at this hotel property. The bed was comfy and there was a feather and a foam pillow for each of us. Although it is very close to the airport we were not bothered by noise. We did not realize that the cleaning is typically done every other day unless requested daily so be mindful of that. Overall very convenient for travelers and a good place to stay.

Great location near the airport, easy to locate. The room was not shabby, but looked like it was decorated in the 1960s! Also, the headboard to the bed was a couple of foam pillows with part of its cover missing. The wall paper was a mismatch of some kind. Bathroom dated, but okay though I prefer a walk-in shower. In summary, it was neat and clean, people nice, bed good -- all very functional, but did not feel like an up-to-date Marriott. I was only there one night and did have a good rest. Quiet, despite airport nearby.

I checked out this morning early. My shuttle was not ordered for me. The gentleman that checked me out, I don’t remember his name but he personally drove me to the airport. Excellent customer service. I will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

We stayed in room 302. There was neglect and dilapidation of parts in the bathroom. Rust and damage as well as a loose shower curtain bar in the shower and the grate covering the intake fan in the bathroom need to be tightened. We reported it to the front desk. The “breakfast” at the Starbucks in the lobby was the deal breaker for us. There was 1 young man working and he seemed like he didn’t really want to be there. We think he was the only person working in the food area. Therefore the service was incredibly slow and the food was not very good. It was also expensive. He kept leaving the front food area and going back into the kitchen. My husband and I had to leave and wanted to wrap up our food. My husband went to the kitchen door to knock and get the man’s attention to ask for a box. The front desk clerk at the front of the hotel saw this and screamed at my husband when he went to the kitchen door to knock and ask for a box. She literally screamed at him not to go back there. He was never planning to enter the kitchen, only trying to get the attention of the 1 staff member working so he could get a box for his food. For as much as a one night stay costs, the least that can be done is have some breakfast items available for no cost. We will not be returning.

Everything was on point except for the King Size Bed was too high for me. It took a lot for me to get in it and for my taste it wasn’t to comfortable.

Wherever we go, we'll try to find a Courtyard hotel. They suits our needs quite nicely with all the amenities they offer. Unfortunately with it being off season travel, the pool was closed for renovations so we missed an opportunity to unwind for the day with an evening swim. This particular one is very close to the Richmond Airport and getting there couldn't be easier. The Airport Shuttle option is very easy - reserve your time at the front desk. They were waiting for us and we were at the airport within 10 minutes. If we're in the area again - this is where we'll be staying.

Unfortunately, the second room presented even greater concerns: a large roach was visible, and there were clear signs of neglect including visible mold and bubbled walls. It wasn’t until the following morning that a different staff member—who was both courteous and apologetic—moved us to a room in somewhat better condition. However, the overall experience fell far below the standards I expect from Marriott. For your awareness, I have video documentation of the roach and the bubbled wall and am willing to provide it upon request. This was, regrettably, the worst experience I’ve had with your brand. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that steps are taken to ensure better training and quality control in the future.

Property itself was acceptable. Staff were all friendly. There was an issue with breakfast as some breakfast staples were unavailable. Was not explained that you had to pay for breakfast. Other guest had the same impression i.e. no cost. Also has a shuttle for the airport. Overall I'd stay again,

I believe the pictures and extra positive reviews are very misleading. The pictures are very glorified from what is actual. This hotel is not in the best area. Activity around all day and all night. The hotel does have key only entry after a certain time which was a nice security addition. I was worried about the vehicle every night. This hotel was dirty but I think this was due to certain crowds that were at the hotel the same time as us. They were leaving trash around everywhere. I wouldn't stay here again.

The pictures looked great but the quality wasn’t as nice. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well but it was rusty with stains on the walls and the shower curtain. There was a musky smell in the room and the area wasn’t the greatest. It was fine for what we needed but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Old property. Renovated a few years ago, it seems. Very clean, except my shower, which had mold and dirty walls. Photos make the property look cleaner and newer than it is. Drug users and homeless people in the parking lot. Not a safe area at all. No complementary coffee or breakfast. You have to purchased everything and the food is not good.

Shower didn't work properly. Water came out Brown at the beginning. Justin failed to notify transportation that we wanted a 6:30 shuttle. Philip however took care of us. Also bar was slow

We stayed one night since we had an early flight. Looks like they tried to do some renovations which is why the pictures appear good, but they didn’t renovate everything, the tub was old, luckily we only took showers. The carpet had a smell, I sprayed some Lysol to try to help that. Guess I expected better from Marriott.

I was unaware of the 21 years age limit and was not allowed into the hotel, I was at the hotel due to a flight rebooking and they turned me away. I called customer support multiple times but they “couldn’t find me in the system” to give me a refund for my booking.

I've been a Marriott member for over 20 years. When my daughter got stuck in Richmond, I made a reservation at the Courtyard but they would not let her check-in as she is not 21. They would not make an exception and recommended I call hotels in Richmond until I found one that would take her. However, they gladly kept the prepaid booking fee.

The lady at check-in seemed to have an attitude and wasn't very helpful. The room was adequate, but wasn't as clean and refreshed as you would expect from a Marriott room and there also were light bulbs that were blown out.

The place was very clean but the room we stayed in smelled funny.. the hotel is just around the corner from the airport and the shuttle only took like 10 minutes if that. They have a coffee shop and snack store . Waffle House is just a short walk..

Pros: Friendly staff, easy check in, nice bistro and waiting area, Super soft bed and comfortable pillows Cons: cleanliness, phone had a strange brown/reddish stain on the base when you pick it up that should easily be wiped off, no liners in trash cans, and remote had what smelled like lotion all over it.. pretty gross to pick up remote and need to wash hands and clean off remote. vending/ice machine out of order, lastly shuttle service to airport was not timely.. front desk ordered at 9:40 it was 10:10 when i decided to take an uber. Could not wait any longer as flight time was approaching quickly. and some really loud late night hallway noises that startled me probably from other guests. but aside from the Cons felt safe. very conveniently located

Our flight was delayed coming in, and even with a pre-check in completed and letting the property know we wouldn’t arrive until late, they cancelled our reservation. Then they couldn’t key the room and we had to be moved twice because the doors weren’t working. All at 3am as well. When we got into the room there was a brown red substance on the wall, the ac had wires coming out of it and the fire alarm was falling off the ceiling. At that point we were so exhausted we just went to bed. Wouldn’t stay again. All around frustrating and upsetting for a Marriott property.

Starting with the positive! All of the workers that we encountered were super nice!!! No complaints about that. The property looks nice when you first walk in but the rooms showed how outdated the hotel is. The previous guest stuffed the peep whole tissue and that was obviously missed by housekeeping so made me question, what else did they miss? The tub looked super old. The door jam to the bathroom had bottle caps??? The headboard/pillow was super dirty and had a bunch of makeup stains. See pictures.

Overall convenienent and comfortable. Staff was helpful. Evening check in staff was pleasant. Morning desk staff was very engaged with his telephone. Shuttle driver was great. Bathroom was less than clean… toilet and shower. TV didn’t function correctly. Bedding was comfortable.

Could I get in and out of my car without haggard people trying to strike conversation, to beg or solicit something? Bug on the pillow that looked like a watermelon seed then when I flicked it off it kind of floated like it was a spider of some kind. I couldn't find it against the dark carpet, and I didn't have my LED flashlight to see it. Nickeled and dimed parking and define "incidentals"? Never gave a clear explanation of that charge, and I'm sure it wouldn't make sense. Walls are thin. Could hear the "neighbor" using the bathroom. Nice and cool temperature in the room, but why did the TV shut off on its own at 3AM? No comp breakfast.
