Marin Lodge

If you’re hesitant to book at the lodge, don’t be. It is cozy, clean, and homey. My son and I stayed one night and were impressed by both the hospitality of the staff as well as the comfort and cleanliness of the room. We will absolutely stay at Marin Lodge when we’re in the area again!

This small hotel was surprisingly top notch. The room was spacious and clean and the furnishings were so comfortable. The bed was a much higher quality than what you would expect for a 2 star hotel. The hotel also had complementary pastries, coffee, and fruit in the mornings. Also the information binder had helpful information about how to pay for the Golden Gate Bridge toll if you had a rental car and I was able to pay the toll ahead. Would definitely stay at the Marin Lodge again!

A. surprising sense of remoteness on a busy downtown street.

Location was ideal for where I wanted to be situated. Quiet and ideal for a couple of nights. A little tricky when driving onto Lincoln Ave at times.

Ideally situated outside of San Francisco, plenty of amenities close by , there are many choices of restaurants in San Rafael , we used ferries and drove in to San Francisco, the parking is very expensive , this is why we chose the Marin lodge,

Easy,free parking. Walked to town for dinner. Coffee available in the morning, along with fruit and muffins,etc. worked out well for us after a long day of travel.

Perfect for our short stay to attend an event in the area. The room was clean and quiet. The desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

The mattress was too soft for me back. The shower was awkward standing out of the way as you turned it on.

This is a quaint and tidy "motel" style facility (since each room has an entry to the outside). Super quiet (even though is not far off the 101), and there's a great Italian restaurant not far (about 1 mile). I will definitely be back if I'm visiting in Marin county, and highly recommend it to anyone. Seemed very safe as well (lots of residential all around).

My stay was amazing … staff was wonderful, check in/check out simple … property was clean, room was spotless and it look let recently renovated… Parking was great directly across from my room …. All was quiet and woman traveling alone felt very safe …. I will be back!

The staff are courteous, the room is clean, bed is comfortable, and I like the amenities. The traffic nearby is a little loud and woke me up a couple of times. I was able to go back to sleep. Overall I like this hotel and I'll be back.

Driving thru the area and needed a one night stay. Could not have been better!!! The young man checking us in was very helpful with restaurants and local information. 100% recommend and I have stayed in less than 1 star and 5 star plus hotels LOL

Marin Lodge is a small, clean, very quiet hotel located 3 minutes away by car from downtown San Rafael. I especially liked the in-room microwave and mini-fridge. It is definitely not fancy, but overall a great boutique alternative to the larger brands that offer rooms at around the same price.

The location was quiet and the trees blocking the view of the nearby street were both beautiful and effective. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It was removed from shopping/sights and so not walkable, but otherwise a wonderful place to stay.

This small lodge checked all of the boxes for me. The room was spacious and comfortable, had all of the appliances that I like to use. It was clean and updated. The staff was very friendly and helpful and easy to reach. It's a great location, quiet and safe. The free snacks and beverages felt like a sweet bonus.

The managers were terrific. I love the details in the room like the linens, the pillows, the mattress and the coved ceiling. My favorite homey touch was the metal signs on the doors. Breakfast in the lobby was much appreciated.

We go to SFC every 3 weeks. We have stayed here 3 times now. It is the perfect spot!! I feel blessed that we found it.

This was a great spot for our family of four for the last two nights of our time in the Bay Area. It was excellent for the price. The location is very convenient for exploring Marin County and was only 30 min to the Oakland airport. It is in town, but the trees on the property make it feel somewhat secluded- in a good way. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast wasn't advertised, but the coffee, pastries, and fruit that they had out in the morning was very much appreciated.

Norma the Manager and her Staff are the best in Marin County! Stay here fairly regularly as it’s the Best Bang for your Buck! You won’t be sorry!

The hotel manager is very nice, warm and super helpful. The coffee and pastries and fruit offerings in the morning are very nice. They even have umbrellas to lend you on rainy days. This is a gem, only about one mile from downtown on Fourth street! Highly recommended!

Norma made a nice welcome. The room was clean with all amenities including microwave, fridge, corner desk , lounge chair, TV, comfortable bed and chair, closet. I felt safe there. The only complaint was the room numbers could be better lit

It is a pleasure to stay in a reasonably price hotel that is so obviously cared for. A couple run/own? The place and are kind ,friendly and helpful. This is my second stay. I spend the night before heading to airport. I plan on this being my go to stay.

I stay here every year for a reunion in the area and always enjoy my stay here. Older single story motel that has been nicely renovated. Quiet residential area. Several blocks from downtown area though.

Charming little motel with a vintage feel of the 1950’s. I will definitely stay there again.

I am very surprised to see a small Inn in the middle of an urban area be so nice. An old building but well maintained by the owners who seem to take pride in their work and guest service. Safe area surrounded by many homes and apartments. Very close to downtown San Rafael. A complimentary selection of fruit, pastries and coffee is available in the morning.

The staff are amazing - so friendly and kind. Plenty of free parking. Spacious, clean rooms with comfy beds. A fridge with complimentary bottled water and sodas in the reception area, along with complimentary coffee and pastries in the morning. There is some road noise in the early mornings but the heat/AC covers it. We both slept very soundly. Plus, a terrific rate. I would definitely stay here again.

Very near highway. But I did notice a lot of hotels in California are just off the highway. I booked this motel for one night. A quick stop for a nights sleep that was on the cheaper side. Otherwise would not have picked. But the room was clean. Maybe replace carpet or change to hardwood or similar.

This motel has been around a very long time. They've done a great job of upgrading it and yet keeping it super cute and Charming. It is very easy to get to. It is just right off the 101 if you are coming from the south. If you are coming from the north you kind of have to pass it, take the next exit loop around and get back on the southbound freeway to get off to get to this place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is close to the freeway, but I had no trouble sleeping at all. When I am in the area, I will always stay here.

This a convenient and comfortable hotel that we enjoy staying at when we visit family in Marin. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The rooms have all the basic amenities and are clean. Overall, a great value given their room rates.

This place was very nice. It is in a much quieter area than options closer or in San Francisco. Very nice staff. We liked it so much we stayed there again later on the same trip.
