At first glance, the hotel online seemed promising, so we decided to give it a try. However, upon our arrival, we were met with a significant delay of 10 minutes or more in the check-in process due to the absence of a receptionist. Once we finally received our room, we were shocked to find it filthy. Not only were there no towels, but when we requested them, we were informed that there were none available, which is utterly absurd for a hotel establishment. Despite our subsequent attempt to inquire the following morning, we were met with the same response. To make matters worse, we discovered underwear inside a drawer, further corroborating the hotel’s apparent lack of thorough cleaning practices. The bathroom was equally appalling, with urine present in the toilet upon our arrival.

Room was very stinky even though it was non smoking. Very loud at night due to what look like permanent residents. Breakfast was not maintained and noone seemed to stop what looked to be a person off the street from coming in and making breakfast.

I liked how I was close to a few places I could walk to, to get food. I didn't like how the whole entire bathroom looked like it was molding and at any moment would cave in.

The halls were extremely dirty withn filth and vomit. The furniture was filthy and old. The plumbing in the room was loose and difficult to use. My wife almost refused to stay there due to the filth.

The property is very deteriorated. They seem to maintain the structural part of it. Our room and the front desk had weird smell. Rug in our room was very dirty. Our bed sheets had cigarette burnt wholes on them. The hallway to the pool extremely dirty and dark.

I didn’t like anything as soon as I called to ask a couple of questions. Area was not great either and decided not to stay and will not be coming back. Complete waste of money.

Location was important, but the surrounding area did not encourage evening walking. The staff was pleasant enough. The room had a musty smell. AND worst of all the shower valve would not come free - so no shower. When I complained, the front desk staff said “you have to pull hard.” I had pulled hard and was afraid of breaking or pulling the handle off.

nothing it was sketchy and the walls were extremely thin and it was an uncomfortable night. i could hear loud coughing and spitting. The property says no smoking but all i smelt inside and outside the hotel was smoke. very disappointing When we first arrived there were cops already there from previous encounters, i didnt find out what had happened but i can imagine it wasnt anything good. the cops left around 2:30am.

I had to have my room key reset 3 times on my 4 day stay, the refrigerator interior was cracked and broken, the main light in the room did not work, the TV had a large log in box on the screen. When I told the person at the front desk about it she said that she would tell maintenance about it. No one ever came to do anything about it. The bath tub was old and cracked, the shower curtain did not reach both walls, no one came to to clean the room, empty the trash or bring new towels during my 4 day stay.

House keeping did not remove the trash from the room, after we placed them all together so it will be easier for them.

I loved the room as a whole, the continental breakfast is outstanding. The juice comes out so cold, my favorite thing. I highly recommend.

When I got there the room look OK. I woke up in the morning was getting dressed for work and poked my toe with something sharp started bleeding immediately. I looked down and it was a dirty needle I went downstairs to the front desk and told them I need a refund and contacted my lawyer. They said their manager wasn’t there and couldn’t give me one.

We couldn’t get tv to work, called office no one helped. The bathroom sink was plugged and slow draining. The room was just disgusting! I can’t believe Orbitz represents this place on website. I will think twice about ever booking with orbitz again.

Contacted Expedia immediately via text ( they were the entity I paid) they stated front desk would issue the refund, the attendant stated she did, we left immediately and found another room. It was still charged to my CC and yet to be refunded as of now. Expedia issued a 25 $ courtesy credit not related to the room charge/price ( thank you) for future use. Shame on you Rodeway Inn San Jose and shame on you Expedia for even allowing this business on your site. Everyone get your act together. We won’t stop until were issued a 100 percent refund to my CC.

Our AC didn't work, the bathroom was gross, and also contained very suspicious stains. The pipes made a God awful high pitch squeal for about 2 hours. The shower/tub faucet was broken. The coffee maker was broken. Hair dryer - you guessed it... Broken. There was construction happening, so we couldn't park anywhere near our room. I thought the hot tub looked nice - but discovered it was the pool! But it was clean and looked very inviting. The staff was very kind and accommodating, and I felt sorry for what they have to deal with. We got a ton of TV channels through direct TV I believe it was, so that was nice as well.

My family of four stayed for three nights in a ground-level room near the parking lot entrance. Unfortunately, the room had a strong cigarette smell, and we found ashes by the window, which we reported to the front desk. The floor had debris, and housekeeping had to come back to clean. The pillows were flat, the sheets had stains, and we felt crumbs in the bed, making comfort an issue. The TV was not a smart TV and only had Dish Network, limiting our viewing options. The pictures on Expedia didn’t match the room, which was disappointing, but the location was convenient for our trip to Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz. Breakfast was basic with no protein options, just muffins, juice, cereal, toast, and a waffle maker. The pool looked fine but not like the online photos. There were some bystanders walking through the lot and people sitting in cars playing loud music. However, the staff was friendly and helpful, which improved the stay.

The photos on this hotel's description must be at least 5+ years old, because this place looks nothing like that. I pulled into the parking lot and instantly regretted my booking decision. The exterior looked rundown, weird people lurking around, and just an overall sense of gloom and doom. I went to check-in and the nice lady at the desk said, "You have 15 minutes to see the room, if you have an emergency or you dont like the room, you come back in 15 minutes and get a full refund. After 15 minutes, no money back." I was shocked. I grabbed my 2 kids and we went to the room, and the hallway we had to walk down was dirty and machines were broken. We got to the room and the light switch didn't even work. So I found a small light to turn on before we closed the door. I looked around. Walls were dirty, floor was dirty, bathtub was not clean. Ceiling above bathtub wasnt painted. It was the worst hotel I've ever step foot in. We practically ran out of there back to the lobby to get our refund. Do not stay there if you have kids, or you are a woman, traveling alone. You will not feel safe. I am extremely grateful for the woman at the front desk. She gave me my refund and we got the heck out of there. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was scared and wanted to leave.

We liked that it was close to the freeway and it had free breakfast. The property is not fully renovated, poor renovation finishes, loud doors, thin walls, noisy neighbors and fights.

The room walls are dirty. Bathtub dirty with black stains. Non smoking room smells really bad odor. Smells like cigarette smoke muggy. Blinds were broken. They do not have extra blankets. They ran out of blankets. I will never go back.

This hotel should be shut down. The pictures online are very deceiving. The room had about 50 small flies in the bathroom mirror, the tub was brown and full of hair, like a scene from a horror movie. The bedsheets had brown spots. I left as fast as I could, when I talked to the clerk she did not apologize all she said was it was non refundable. Do not, I repeat DO NOT stay here.
