    The valet drivers were great in handling our car and gave great direction and recommendations on where to go. The front desk was great at getting us checked in and made the process so quick. The restaurant and bar staff went above and beyond and the food and cocktails were very very good. The housekeeping was very detailed and everything was perfect when we checked in and when we returned to our rooms later that day, they had made up the room to perfection! Whenever I’m back in San Francisco i will 100% be staying at the Ritz!

    Great hotel. Great location. Make sure you ask for a room that does NOT overlook the courtyard. The industrial HvAC units are beyond loud unless you keep windows closed. If you want to open windows for fresh air you will pay the price

    Hotel and staff were excellent. My first only complaint is about the shower. It’s an over the tub version with a shower curtain. A hotel of this caliber should have walk-in showers. The shower head was fixed and not adjustable, which made it impossible to stay out of the way when it turned on…and sprayed everywhere.

    Our stay at the Ritz was lovely. The rooms are quite nice, the beds are very comfortable, everything is spotless. The amenities are wonderful. I will say that the staff really make the hotel experience outstanding. Several people at the front desk were particularly rude about addressing the problem and not really helpful...suggesting that we call housekeeping rather than helping us solve the problem. Rooms was average at best...booked a suite on orbitz for three people but there was only one king bed. Had to order a roll away. Fine hotel but certainly not even close to the standard that I would expect from a five star hotel.

    The team allowed us to check in a little bit early, since we were attending a wedding at the hotel, which started at check-in time. This allowed us to get ready. Enjoyed our stay and the service staff was excellent. Our bell man, the team that helped support the wedding and directed us in the right direction and the front desk that put our friends next door to us.

The bathroom in my first visit had a separate toilet with door in the bathroom. Also went to the hotel bar The Lounge for drinks and apps and were seated and then waited about 10 minutes without service. Ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Would have informed host or waiter but none were present. It was busy, but still i expect more from the Ritz.

One notable stand out is how amazingly spacious the rooms with two queen beds are, which provide the perfect backdrop for a girl's or family getaway. The giant tub in the beautifully appointed bathroom did not disappoint either. Also, it's refreshing to have an abundantly stocked fluffy fresh towel collection, along with tea and coffee maker, so it really felt like home.

    The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful. The only negatives were flat pillows and our suite only had one window. Trying to aleviate our overheating we used the thermostat and it didn’t help much. The only other drawback was the limited menu options.

    Very nice hotel - friendly service, especially from the parking attendants, clean, nicely appointed rooms. Expensive, though - as you would expect from the Ritz, but I really think they over-do it...I mean, $70 for an omlet with a side of bacon through room service? $90 per day for parking? That's a little much, even for the Ritz. But for a special occasion, it's still nice to splurge sometimes and they do out on the show.

    Enjoyed my stay overall but service was spotty in a couple of areas. There was one door/valet man who was great, the other in the evening acted like we were an imposition on his time. One person on the concierge gave us very ordinary recommendations for dinner even though I asked for something interesting - was sent to an ordinary steak house that had no vibe. Other than that, the hotel itself was pleasant enough, nice people on the front desk.

    Do not stay here if you are traveling with someone with special needs and require an accessible room (barrier free shower)with two double beds. There is only one such room in the entire property! Joann, the Room Controller is an absolute nightmare - rude, condescending and not customer service oriented at all. Called me on Christmas Eve at 9pm my time) a mere 6 hours before departing for my flight on Christmas Day and told me to find another place to stay. Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen, I don’t think so. So disappointing. The bright spot was the Guest Relations team.

    The hotel staff was superb, the rooms incredibly comfortable. We stayed at club level. We have been on club level before and this time the beverages served were not as good as in past times, and the food served was not to the same quality as in prior times. I don’t know if there has been a change in management, but for the price there should have been better drinks and food. The people who worked at club level are incredible. They welcomed us warmly, and were incredibly attentive.

    The property looks great, the room looks great, the staff was friendly and professional but that is expected at 5 Star hotel. The chocolates on the room was a nice touch, I wasn't expecting that. However there were 2 issues that I expect at a 5 star hotel. 1) The front desk doesn't have credit card tapb technology, many people don't carry physical card anymore, they are loaded on their phones to be used with tap. 2) They need to work on the response time on messaging in the app and texting. I waited 10 minutes for a response and then had to use the in room phone. Messaging and text should be as fast as a phone call. Automated generic messages like we're looking into it, doesn't cut it. I'm 54 years old just mentioning so you know this isn't some young person and wanting technology to work, this is your average modern customer.

    The restaurants have great food, great drinks, the location is ideal for exploring the union square and chinatown areas but is also walkable to areas like Russian Hill, Embarcadero etc making it a perfect spot for travelers.
