Transit access from 23,th Street BART or Broadway to...pro employee mellow. Nice room. Still as graceful as in the early 90s. Rises above the typecast to reach community as respect. Thank you. Concerns for the world today amid peace.

The hotel was amazing and met our expectations for the price. Location was central to union center so, easy for transportation. We have four people in a double room and it worked out perfectly. The provided breakfast was basic with yogurt, bagels, packaged baked good, and coffee/tea. There was nothing to dislike about the hotel. Outside the neighborhood had interesting individuals, but this is no fault of the hotel.

Saw some small bugs near the fridge. The TV is not positioned near the bed at all so its in a weird angle. In a shady area near tenderloin.

location in the middle of union square, next to a bus stop, close to everything, can not be more convenient. The room looks exactly like the picture. breakfast very limited, homeless people at the door of the hotel, no light in the room nor closet but the size is fair

Room was clean, but very small just to fit the bed. Bathroom was nice. No parking available (leaving a car on the street is unsafe). The surrounding neighborhood does not feel safe. Union Square itself, however, is a nice place.

Friendly staff. Comfortable bed Close to Union Square and public transportation I ask for accessible bedroom. It had no closet or dresser. When I mentioned it to the woman at the front desk, she confirmed that accessible room did not have closets nor dressers(!). She gave me a non accessible room - which I saw also did not have a closet or dresser! I was then given a third room which at least had a closet. On my last morning there, I dropped something at the foot of my bed, when I reach done I noticed that there were two drawers at the foot of my bed that I could have used as a dresser. Not a hotel for folks who need an accessible room!

Great hotel close to lots of fun stuff. Room was modern and well kept. I really loved the room and breakfast was also good. The only downside was the location with lots of noise on the street and heavy drug use in the neighborhood. But that's not the fault of the property.

The property was okay but I think the staff is being criminal and letting other criminals use the property to commit terrible crimes. While I was sleeping the cameras were turned off and a group of people in masks came into my window(which was broken) and re infected my lip with the staphylococcal virus and biohacked me while I slept, I got very sick and my property vandalized and stolen, my iPad was broken and I had to take it to the apple in store in union square. Then a whole bag of clothes and skincare was taken, the staff was pushy the breakfast was scary, I felt like the cctv was off and the staff was rude and ignored my language.

The location was great, yes there were a lot of homeless people nearby but that is really a problem of the city. The hotel is great for the value, if you are not going to spend a lot of time on the room is great. You get a nice breakfast, for a city where everything is so expensive having a start for free is truly great. This is the second time I have stayed in the hotel. I would add a protein other than yogurt to the breakfast.

Nothing at all My stay raised several serious concerns. While I was staying in the room I became extremely congested and had difficulty breathing whenever I was inside the building. The symptoms noticeably improved when I stepped outside, which made me question the air quality or ventilation in the room. Possibly mold? (I was in Room 510) Around 2:00 AM the front desk repeatedly called my room accusing me of having a dog barking inside my room after another guest complained. At the time my service dog was not even in the room. After multiple calls and nearly an hour of disruption, a staff member eventually came upstairs and confirmed the barking was actually coming from another building. Despite informing the hotel at check-in that my dog, Pesto, is a service animal, the hotel later withheld my $200 deposit claiming additional cleaning due to dog hair and also attempted to connect me to an unrelated incident involving laundry chemicals taken by another person. I requested an itemized explanation and documentation for these charges but have not received one. Between the breathing issues I experienced inside the building, the late-night accusations that disrupted my sleep, and the lack of transparency regarding the deposit, this was a very uncomfortable and frustrating stay. I'm honestly not even sure how they can maintain good reviews on here. My suggestion just look around before you book here for a different location. It's not worth the trouble. Update: After this review was posted, I returned the items that the hotel said were missing and staff accepted them. However, I was then told that my $200 security deposit would not be released unless I removed the negative reviews. I am still waiting for the deposit to be returned, considering better Business bureau for sure. I suggest anybody that thinks about staying here definitely goes through and reads the reviews first.

Staff including the front desk and the housekeeping staff, were very friendly and as I stayed for 13 nights, I became friends with many of them. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. I would definitely choose to stay again there because of their staff. Location is also good. It’s a walking distance from many places especially Union Square. I had to attend the conference at Moscone Center and that was at a walking distance. The corner shop is also very convenient for buying the utilities. They had the good facilities and I really liked the nice bathrooms with good shower space. Breakfast can be a little better. Any form of eggs would do.

The staff was always present when needed, and prompt to open the door and let me in. There was breakfast. The street out front has a lot of homeless, and they poop on the sidewalk outside. So bring a pair of slippers to wear inside the hotel because you don't want to walk directly into your hotel room.

Being from out of town, and stuck in the city from my husband having open heart surgery, I had no idea where to go. But my room was spotless! Very clean! Bed was super clean as well as blankets and sheets! Towels were unstained, smelt very clean and sanitized! The staff has been amazing to me, worked with me, and helped me out during one of the worst times in my life! The breakfast was fresh, and temp appropriate! I would absolutely stay here again, no questions asked!

The property was close to everything that we wanted to do. We came for the Super Bowl experience and stayed here for four nights. We were in room 410 which is a king suite and it was great. Bed comfortable shower great great water pressure super hot. Quiet the whole time I was here. There was a small leak in our room in the bathroom but they offered us to move to a new room right away but it got fixed so we stayed.

the hygiene products that were in the bathroom (lotion / moisturizer, shampoo/body wash) were empty. unfortunately I missed breakfast because when I checked in I wasn't told the breakfast hours, they also were not posted anywhere, when I called down to the front desk at 9:04 a.m. to ask about breakfast I was told it was over. I had to ask what the breakfast hours were which didn't really matter because I was getting ready to check out. when I called at 9:04 to ask about breakfast I also asked if it would be possible for a late check out and was informed that they don't do that there however it states that early check in and late checkout can be arranged for a fee.

We inform tge house keeping also tge front desk and they said we will make sure we will clean and change the bedding. Came vack from city tour around 8pm and found nothing was done spoke to front desk and staff was rude and unprofessional. Told me to go to my room and will call u got a call back after 1 hour to change the room, by then we remove the bed sheet by our self. And when down to sleep. Unbelievable tgat this type of hotel should be even allowed by expedia or any other travel web sites to promote them. -0 star for this property

This is a budget hotel. The room was very small, but had a refurbished bathroom. You need to let the shower run for 5 minutes before the hot water kicks in. Breakfast is on the 2nd floor and has a toaster, bagels, 2 types of cereal, yoghurts + coffee etc. breakfast is 7am-9am prompt. The real downside of this hotel is that the area has many people sleeping outside. Homelessness and drugs seem to the cause. Please please only turn right out the hotel and just be careful with your belongings. We were told on the first day that if you leave them alone they will leave you alone. This was true.

I made a reservation before arrival. It seemed like a great deal. I checked into my hotel room. As soon as I walked into the restroom, I noticed there was trash in the garbage can from a previous guest. The bed was not made and I noticed the bed sheet had a streak of blood on it like the previous guest had menstrual cycle issues or something? No hot water in the shower as well. My work has us staying at different hotels for work and I guess I expected for this hotel to at least have a decent breakfast or even drinking water somewhere? At around 2am I woke up to a female screaming outside and when I looked outside, it appears to be a drug deal gone bad or something? Will not be staying here again

The only bad side of it is the noice at night and the homeless screaming randomly. It’s a terrible neighborhood so just to be aware if you have little ones. If you have a vehicle then is okay, but wouldn’t recommend walking at night. It has a mini fridge and a coffee/tea maker but no microwave. You’ll have to ask front desk that you need to use the microwave. Also, there’s a liquor store in the corner which is great to grab snacks, drinks, plates or utensils. It got pretty cold at night so having a heater was nice.

This Super 8 is a gem for a budget-conscious business traveler. Located by Union Square near a Hilton and other hotel chains, this place gives you everything you need for a fraction of the cost: clean room, updated bathrooms, work area and easy to navigate wi-fi. Very friendly and responsive staff. Breakfast (no hot foods). Rooms are small, so not ideal for families. 4 blocks from a BART Station.

1. The room was ridiculously small. 2. There was no chest of drawers. 3. There wasn't even anywhere to hang clothes. 4. There wasn't even a toilet paper hanger! 5. There was barely any hot water. The hotel is in a seedy if not unsafe area. However, it is very central. The staff were very nice and attentive. The breakfast was ok. All in all, the room was extremely overpriced for what it provided.

The property was excellent and the price was great. The only thing that takes away from the property is the fact that San Francisco center has a homeless problem.

Cons: No in-room safe. The King bedroom that I had was small relative to the size of the bed. The washroom was 2/3 the size of the bedroom area (would've preferred more bedroom space and slightly smaller washroom). Breakfast room was small and windowless. Breakfast consists mostly of highly processed carbs like bagels, bread, and cereal. No meat and no oatmeal options. Breakfast open between 7am-9am 2-hour window (which is fine because there's not much to eat and you don't want to spend too much time in that breakfast room anyway). Despite cons, still rating 4 out of 5 because those are more nitpicky comments rather than deal-breakers.

Hotel was nice closed to everything. Just like most of SFO the homeless problem is everywhere. No matter how expensive the hotel is.

I had wished the breakfast included some sort of protein, it was mostly yogurt, bread, fruit, and some coffee. All around though, great place to stay with very friendly staff. I would stay again.

Honestly, after reading the reviews I got scared. I have to say it really wasn’t as bad as the reviews I saw said. There are homeless people just like in any big city, especially downtown. We were two young women and, as long as you don’t walk towards your left when going out the door, you’ll be okay. Maybe the reviews were from people that are not used to big cities but I honestly thought it was the same as any downtown part of any big city. Staff is super friendly, rooms are clean (we had a suite so i dont know about regular rooms). Only downsides are the bar next door will have loud music through the night on friday/saturday and wifi was slow and difficult to use at times. That being said, it didn’t bother me that much, so I didn’t notify the front desk. Overall, I thought it was a good stay for the price

It was right in the center of town, clean and comfortable, but most of all the atmosphere and attitude of the employees were what really made our stay so fantastic. Their efforts to meet our every need (and we were prepping for Burning Man - so we had a lot of needs! And asked for help more than once), always with a smile, a tip was incredible. This might be the most hospitable place we have ever stayed, we truly felt at home ❤️

Check-in was easy and friendly. The room was good and the bed wonderful. The TV did not work and the attendant came up to get it working. It worked on about 5 channels only. Internet quit working for about an hour, but eventually came back. Wonderful hot water!

It was hard to get in and out. the hotel was in a great location close to everything We will stay here again

Renovations include, paint on floors, holes in walls, towel rack being half off the wall. Front desk was rude, I walked in and introduced myself as one should when checking in and I was greeted with "Well I'm going to need your ID." I obviously knew that but I think it would be rude to walk into an establishment and shove your ID in someone's face prior to starting conversation, just me? Ok. 3/5

The hotel is in a good location near union square, but it’s appearance leaves a lot to be desired. It isn’t dirty per se but it is old and worn and doesn’t give you a comfortable feeling of cleanliness. The comforters were stained the towels had holes.

I am hoping it’s just a loose staple from the carpet (I have my tetanus shot) and not any kind of needle.... the sharp thin object definitely pierced flesh and is a worrisome ordeal. Wish us luck please. Logan

It is not like the pics they show. Upon arriving front door smelled like pee homeless lyining i frnt of building music next door till 2 in morning just not what i expected

Acceptable, not great. Lavatory in the first room was not working, so they switched me to another room. But shower there some times was cold. Price is OK by SF standards. Location seems to be in a dangerous area. You get what you pay for!

Room is verrrry tiny. Shower was bad. Cold, low shower head.

The hotel is ina great location. Room is small, but clean.

This place is OLD. George Washington might have stayed there at some point. The carpets were filthy, there were weird odors around. The free breakfast is free because it's terrible. There is no free parking. Parking is by valet, and is $45 a night.

Vic was nice and helpful the rooms and upgraded bathrooms were clean

Very close to union square and very convenient to get to local amenities.Reception area is not appealing and hotel requires overall facelift!!

Staff was super friendly. The place was in good condition for the price and location (in the middle of SF). Nice central location.

Okay for a n old place on the outskirts of III square.
- 4/5
You get what you pay for. The room was very small, which is not surprising for the historic area. There are a large amount of homeless people in the area, so be ready if you stay in this neighborhood. Hotel was clean however very dated, needs renos/updating. Elevator wasnt working the last day we were there, causing us to carry luggage down from the 5th floor.
- 4/5
Not bad hotel if only need a confortable bed to sleep
- 2/5
Elevator not working staying on 4th floor. Didn't show I paid upfront. Gave me a full size bed
- 2/5
It was in a terrible neighborhood with scary looking men with dogs on chains at the front door. Parking was $45.00/night which was not included in the information about the room. Room was dark and old. We did not stay the night.
- 1/5
Dirty, noisy, tiny rooms, overpriced. Shower handle broke off and I had to take cold shower in the morning. Had to wait 45 minutes at 10 pm to check in because front desk attendant could not get check in system to work.
- 3/5
the area is awful homeless folk on l approaches to Hotel, it is dated within and nothing like the photos. Staff friendly and helpful
