Nothing special. It was ok.

Large rooms and very clean hotel, the staff is great, there is a wonderful bar/ great food place on the 1st floor with a more upscale restaurant on the 2nd floor. The location is fantastic!

I always stay at Hotel Nikko when I travel to San Francisco. Love the hotel location, the bellhop staff always excellent and helpful. I hope to visit again and again. Thank you Hotel Nikko San Francisco! I can't think of anything I didn't like. Maybe bigger beds? Overall I am pleased with the service in Hotel Nikko SFO.
- 5/5
Hotel was excellent. So were the staff. Union square is okay, a lot of homeless and people doing drugs on the street, but that is just SF these days. the indoor pool was great especially because we were traveling with kids.

Everything
- 5/5
Nice, clean, comfortable. Amazing staff everywhere in the hotel, very friendly and helpful. Warm indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. Great location. We really enjoyed our stay. Parking is expensive, valet $85. Breakfast is not included.
- 5/5
Everything Restaurants were a little pricey
- 5/5
It's actually a family place because of the awesome indoor pool - people who don't want to kids around should be aware. Wish hot tub was deeper, but it did the job of soaking the day away.
- 5/5
Excellent Hotel. Friendliest & most helpful staff , I have ever met. Clean, great location , in the heart of union square , close to all the major designer shops & Macy’s. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
- 5/5
I always like staying here because even though I'm so close to Union Square I step in the hotel and I have no idea that I'm in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Facilities in the staff are always great. Parking is a little tricky but otherwise not a big deal. I work to the wise it's valet parking only. Quiet clean comfortable

The hotel is amazing and clean. We loved the fast elevators and also the room. Michael at front desk was also cool and friendly! The food at Kanpai is not that good, and overpriced. Also, the stuffed animal dog on the bed… my child got attached but we didn’t want to purchase it.

- 5/5
Everything was perfect. This is my new go to hotel when I’m in the Bay Area
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel, we look forward to our next visit.
- 5/5
The best hotel in the city. The service, staff, amenities, and location was outstanding.
- 5/5
The air filter in the corridor in the room needed to be changed. It had not been changed in MONTHS as lint, dust bunnies and dirt was easily visible when walking beneath it. It was uncharacteristically NOT Hotel Nikko style and I, frankly, did not expect to see this.

First timer here and loved it!! Although just for one night it was memorable! The indoor pool was the perfect temperature and had a great view. Kyle at check in greeted us with great enthusiasm and let us know of all the hotels amenities. Will definitely return to enjoy again!

East location, consistently great staff, spacious rooms and good lighting!

We stayed in the deluxe king room and it was quite cramped. Okay if you only have carry-on size suitcases. The room was clean but was a bit beat up - cupboards were chipping, carpet colours look dull and old, shower was leaking from the ceiling, washlet water was cold… Requested for an electric kettle and after 2 phone calls, over half an hour, a staff came to knock on our door and asked what exactly did we need, and then another 15 minutes for it to arrive. Did not use the swimming pool and gym, nor the $25 food credit, so the mandatory $100+ amenity fees for 2 nights were not worth it for us. Overall, was disappointing with the experience. Service felt careless and impersonal. This was our second stay and don’t think we’d want to stay here again. Neighbourhood is getting worse as the Tenderloin neighbourhood is definitely spilling over to Union Square given the close proximity.
- 5/5
Perfect location if you’re planning to explore San Francisco.
- 5/5
Great place. Always stay here when in SF
- 5/5
The room was spacious. We were allowed to check in early and upgraded to a higher floor. Staying at Hotel Nikko felt like a peaceful oasis in a busy city.
- 5/5
Very good experience
- 5/5
I travel to San Francisco 6 times a year and have stayed in many of the hotels in the Union Square area, and this is by far my favorite hotel. The hotel is elegant, clean, and comfortable. The location is in that perfect area near shops and also the Powell Station. This is now my go to hotel going forward.
- 5/5
Thx a lot

Accessible and open aired. Exceptional staff attention to service lady staff at concierge (didn’t get her name) 5/17 morning considered complimentary check out at 12 noon from usual 1000. We were able to eat breakfast then with excellent service from Anthony! Saw a bug crawling in bed :(

I always stay at Hotel Nikko when in San Francisco. First, it is a full service hotel, daily cleaning of rooms, they allow you to store your luggage in case you are coming back, the location is top notch. It is a wonderful hotel! Nothing!

This was our second stay at Hotel Nikko and we have already booked our next. The quality of the rooms is first class and the staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Nikko in San Francisco.
- 4/5
The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. We were on the 10th floor so had great views over the city. The shower didn’t drain away so would be standing in a puddle. The location is good that you can walk to china town etc easily but if you went a block the wrong way it was a bit scary. This may be a wider San Fran thing though.
- 1.5/5
reasonably clean room, helpful staff Very small room. Poor value. Restaurant buffet breakfast priced at $45 but bill comes to $57 (different charges were added to bill). Room Service has 4 other charges placed on it in addition of food price, including delivery charge, service charge, tax etc.
- 5/5
Wow! What a fun little get away from Portland to the real big special city of SF. From checking in with Kat, to room amenities and ease, room service attendants, bell boys always smiling and helpful .. I literally felt so recharged by the energy of the city and staff at Hotel Nikko. Will definitely return

Room was under repair at the window blue tape holding the Morgan under the window other than that the room was fine. Staff was great. The pool and spa were great.
- 3/5
The staff in most of the hotel is very friendly. However if you need anything from the front desk they are skilled at ignoring you and when we called after being told by no less then three managers in the lobby to ask the front desk to make up our rooms when we were out for meetings then being ignored for ten minutes we called twice and nobody picked up. understaffed and under trained. the windows are old so you hear everything at night plus your in the edge of a very dodgy hood. after four stays I will try something different next visit.

Room a nice size and beds very comfortable Staff at reception are awful. This was the second time we stayed, and we never had a pleasant interaction. Dark haired Eastern European woman was the most unpleasant, and an Asian woman who was there at check out. On this occasion, I had to go to request access to the room on arrival 4 times, then they had to do engineering works on the door at midnight. There were plenty of rooms available but no offer of a room change.

In a whole the place is fantastic! I think the Sushi restaurant is way over priced and mediocre at best. But the staff there is fantastic and it’s very convenient. I Give Hotel Nikko an A+++
- 4/5
Hotel was very clean. Ernesto at the front desk provided a complimentary early check in courtesy of my birthday. Hotel staff, valet, bellhop, and restaurant bar staff I interacted with were all wonderful. The only thing I did not like was that I did not receive my bill via email despite following up. In addition, they did not honor the $25 food credit so that was definitely misleading. Otherwise overall stay was great!

Perfect in every way! Thank you Ernesto at the front desk for the warm welcome and excellent check in experience. You are a gem! 5 Stars all the way. Can’t wait to return!
- 5/5
Great stay, good food, good service, amazing hospitality
- 5/5
Pool was beautiful. The aromatic ambience in the lobby was so relaxing No hot water for showers in the pool/locker room area.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel and very friendly staff. Everyone from the from lobby, to the daily cleaning staff was top notch. The rooms are on the smaller side but very clean. The food is presented well and tasty. The property is well kept and clean. The area is not the best and lots of shady people in the general area but that’s not the hotels fault. Overall, I recommend this hotel as it is centrally located in the downtown area. Easy to get around and wasn’t too long to SFO. I would stay again but not the safest area after dark.
- 3.5/5
The price to pay for parking is crazy!! Housekeeping never showed up, we had to call and request towels the next day.
- 5/5
Amazing all round.
- 2/5
The front desk staff could use a lot of training on consistency and not misleading guests. The managers don't respond and even though they have in house texting, they don't respond on that as well. Poorly managed hotel. Otherwise other staff were all very polite

There are ‘hidden’ service charges. For example, in the restaurant a 20% gratuity AND a 20% service fee are included in the bill. Why a service fee?

- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay staff was super helpful. Prices for food were a bit high
- 5/5
This was our first time staying here. We usually stay at a neighboring property. I will say this much…WE WILL BE STAYING HERE FROM NOW ON! The staff was incredible. The hotel is incredible and the amenities cleanliness, and just general smell of the hotel with its diffuser and fresh flowers was obsession worthy. The only thing that we had to complain about was the Internet being very spotty and our TV not working. When you’re on vacation, the two teas have to work the toilet and the TV. So that was our only complaint. But, they did send up staff and engineer immediately to try to help us with the situation.
- 4/5
Property was clean and neat. Nice welcoming wine was appreciated.

- 4/5
Hotel Nikko is near tenderloin so be careful walking around at night. The room we got had a Bluetooth speaker in it so that alone would make me inclined to book again. The staff were really nice. The lobby looks clean and modern. It’s a bit dusty in the rooms which caused a lot of allergies but otherwise good stay.
- 5/5
Lovely modern room with very hi tech toilet!! Very attentive and friendly staff throughout the hotel. Imperial lounge could do with some improvements for the evening- the crackers and cheese were a bit sad- maybe include some mini cakes/macarons etc? Very good value for money and would definitely go again
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and the staff was incredible.

- 5/5
Such a nicely done hotel, not overdone or gaudy either! Staff were all super professional and friendly. Cleanliness was excellent, location great, rooms were thoughtful. I would take off a 1/4 star for the hotel's food as the room service meal was not great and forgot some details. Would highly recommend this hotel overall and would happily stay again.
- 5/5
very nice and clean room , staff friendly ( from valet service, bell hops to front desk ) , comfortable rooms, great amenities , good for family , convenient location .

Very nice hotel stay. The fitness center and pool area are like a spa. Close to Union square, Bart and Muni and bus lines so easy to get around without a car. Would definitely stay here again.
- 1/5
Bad experience , also wrong charges to my card
- 4/5
Location was great! Close to Union Square, shopping and dining. The 2 restaurants could be improved, Kan Pai is the only dinner dining restaurant. Seems more like a lounge/bar and a bit noisey. Anzu which i was hoping to have dinner at, is the nicer and more formal restaurant, but only open for breakfast. Need to have more dinner options. We had to walk to the Westin to eat at Bourbon Steak which was super loud.
- 5/5
Check in was a little rough. I think the woman was new, but we ended up with great rooms. The hotel is beautiful and everyone there was very kind. The pool and hot tub area were nice, but the bubbles weren’t working in the hot tub and it’s a bit small. The pool is warm and large though. I would definitely recommend staying here. My friend is already counting on it. It’s now her favorite hotel.
- 5/5

Nice hotel, elegant public areas, and good exercise facilities. Breakfast and lunch restaurant was solid.

On 3 occasions staff entered my room without permission. For example, on my last day at the hotel, around 9:00 AM, the cleaning staff called out "House Keeping" AFTER she had entered my room. I called the front desk and asked for the manager. A woman who barely spoke english claimed to be the manager. When questioned her claim, she said she was "sort of the manager". I told her that I wanted to speak with the HOTEL manager. She forwarded my call to HOUSE CLEANING manager! House cleaning told me that they would relay my message to the hotel manager. I never got a call back. I have been going to this Hotel since the 1990s. It has slowly but surely become run down. Now even the service is bad. No more Nikko!

I was very worried about the location when I started driving down there but was assured once I came around to the actual hotel. Everything was lovely and the crème brûlée French toast brought to my room was fabulous!! I’d stay here again for sure and I’m a germ freak!!
- 5/5
The restaurant was excellent for breakfast but there was a limited menu for dinner.
- 5/5
Kat at reception was great and very friendly during our stay
- 5/5
Wonderful experience. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. Beds are comfortable. Amenities are clean and taken care of. Pool is heated.
- 5/5
This is a lovely hotel, rooms are very clean, staff is very helpful (Thank you Ernesto and Xingbao!), the sauna and steam room were immaculate, the indoor pool was lovely, I would most definitely stay here again, I recommend it with no hesitation!
- 5/5
Favorite place to stay ALWAYS
- 5/5
Great staff and service and nice, clean rooms as usual!
- 5/5
very good service and very clean
- 5/5
Loved it, everything was good
- 5/5
The hotel has great rooms, is well and hygienically maintained. The gym and facilities are great and all staff - from front desk to maintenance- is client centered and work together to make for a happy stay
- 5/5
Staff was super helpful and kind.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
My only concern was the pool and jacuzzi area. The jacuzzi was extremely small, and the pool was much smaller than expected based on how the hotel was advertised. Upon arrival, the pool area was very crowded, with many children jumping in and out of the water, and some parents actively throwing them into the pool. Additionally, the spa was overcrowded and had noticeably low water levels. Aside from the pool and jacuzzi experience, everything else was enjoyable, and we had a great time overall.
- 5/5
Room was comfortable, very clean and well stocked, staff friendly, hotel centrally located near multiple transportation and restaurant choices.
- 5/5
Excellent staff and comfortable rooms. The pool area is fantastic
- 5/5
The friendly staff were outstanding.
- 5/5
Good location, seamless check in, friendly staff, comfortable room.

- 4/5
I will say I was very disappointed in the room, not because it wasn’t pretty nice, but the photos they placed on the website do not represent the room we had and I really take offense at false advertising.

Great location and excellent fitness room and pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. We’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in San Francisco.
- 5/5
Excellent welcome by staff and perfect room and breakfast.
- 5/5
Great stay. Rooms are quiet and clean. Staff was extremely friendly
- 5/5
Room was clean but both the front desk and valet staff were exceptional. Appreciated the great customer service
- 5/5
Great pool, nice room,
- 5/5
Everything at this hotel is great. SERVICE is exceptional. Everyone I come in contact with who works here has the most positive Friendly attitude. . Always looking to see what they can do to help you and make you stay better. Can't pick up any place I would rather stay on my visit to the San Francisco.
- 4/5
The staff in the Health club was very nice. There was an issue with the safety lock of the room door, as two out of four screws have fallen off. We requested a new room, but it was still the same issue. We have reported this issue to the front desk, but they have not expressed any response or even apologized, nor have they given any answer.
- 3/5
Generally clean. One of my notably least enjoyable stays in a long time. The hotel entrance is hard to find- the main entrance with the flags is locked and is not the entrance. Ride share drivers can’t find the entrance bc no one at the hotel has correctly marked the entrance that is open/staffed. I shared a room with a colleague my first night and arrived first. They wouldn’t let me have a room key unless I paid my colleagues’ nightly fee for her entire stay. I had my own room booked the 2nd night. No one could cut through the red tape. No offered me a bottle of water and the lobby didn’t have a cafe or bar. I trekked around trying to find a spot to grab a cup of coffee and work on my laptop. The signage to the restaurant that the desk clerk said was open all day was hard to find. The elevator buttons are not marked with current information. When I found the restaurant, luggage in tow, no one was at the hostess station. A guy painting the ceiling answered through a divider that it was closed. No restaurant or coffee shop. Huge, drafty, marble clad lobby. WiFi was good. I heard the gym was good.
- 5/5
The staff are always so welcoming, kind and friendly.
- 5/5
Beautiful rooms, very friendly staff, great restaurant
- 5/5
Check-in process was excellent
- 3/5
Rooms were small and the beds too. Kids took over the pool and I have a kiddo that wasn’t able to swim comfortably. The
- 4/5
friendly and helpful staff, beautiful hotel, nice accommodation. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is that every time we called reception, it took almost an hour to get a response.
- 5/5
Everything was spectacular. Great staff!

- 5/5
Friendly staff. Nice and clean inside
- 4/5
Spent $42 p person for a terrible skimpy breakfast runny eggs supermarket bagels cheap cream cheese packets and little variety just awful terrible rip off
- 5/5
Nice stay, good room. Staff friendly. Enjoyed the amenities heated pool, sauna and steam room.
- 5/5
The room was very clean
- 5/5
Wonderful bed, wish I didn't have to go out of the hotel :)

When power went off in the room staff were not accommodating and made us feel neglected and abandoned.

- 5/5
Nicely feel and helpful staff.
- 4/5
Very well kept hotel , staff keep it good vibes and fun all around the area to be had!
- 5/5
Room was very clean, very nice fitness center with access to sauna
- 4/5
I always stay here during my new year’s vacation. Always a good stay. Check in when the only issue. I got checked into an occupied room. They fixed it but that was not good for obvious reasons.
- 5/5
The staff, the room, the hotel, the location, everything around it is great! Nikko is our go-to
- 5/5
Clean rooms, amazing customer service, lots of things to do like the inside pool, hot tub, fitness center, and more.
- 5/5
Rooms regularly cleaned, hotel generally spotless.
- 4/5
Lots of stains on our bed, 1819 There were red stains and hair in the tub.
- 5/5
Overall everything is excellent except for the hotel signage. You can easily walk by and miss the hotel entrance.
- 4/5
Overall it was a good stay. The negative was the hotel parking was full and we had to park three blocks away and walk back in the rain!
- 5/5
Safe haven at the edge of the tenderloin
- 5/5
The room was amazing. The hotel was spectacular. Location was great. One of the best hotel staffs I’ve ever encountered and I am a frequent corporate traveler. Michael D was one of the most hospitable and professional front desk agents that I’ve ever experienced.
- 4/5
nice quite room
- 3/5
Had to request housekeeping multiple times the same day Room service breakfast order missing items.Called front desk and still never received items but charged anyway. Called room service another day multiple times and no one ever answered. Manager called us back to say they "were busy and to stay patient" Still never got an order. This is not a hotel that is 4.5 star caliber. If hotel is understaffed to the detriment if the customer, action needs to take place to preserve the client's trust and relationship. Zero accountability. The sushi restaurant won't be in business much longer either. Extremely disappointed.
- 5/5
A true luxury hotel with amazing decor and amenities. This trip I took advantage of the steam and sauna rooms, the amazing fitness center, and of course, the best hotel buffet breakfast in San Francisco. I was disappointed that there were no croissants/chocolate croissants by the time I got to the breakfast. I asked my waiter about it, hoping they were going to refill those items on the buffet, but instead, he brought me piping hot croissants fresh from the oven! Who would ever imagine that the hotel would be baking their own French croissant?. The Nikko never ceases to amaze. Love this hotel.
- 4/5
Nice room, Elisabeth at the front desk was lovely and very helpful. It was too bad that their hotel bar was closed for the entire weekend so our group had to go elsewhere. Also, the breakfast buffet was ridiculously overpriced and they were definitely missing employees. It took 30 minutes to get a cup of coffee and the selections were very limited for $42. Overall, we love the Nikko and will be back.
- 2/5
We ordered chicken tenders for our daughter through room service and waited approximately 30 minutes. When the meal arrived, the chicken was raw rather than properly cooked. As this was a children’s meal, we were concerned about food safety and would appreciate follow-up regarding this issue.
- 5/5
Great service and great room!
- 1/5
I booked a hotel room for my daughter, which was her birthday. She arrives no parking available. It was full. She has to find her own parking somewhere not by the hotel in San Francisco. It is dark inconvenient not safe.
- 5/5
Clean room, heated swimming pool, excellent service from everyone
- 4/5
If you are expecting a room with a washlet, make sure you explicitly request this at check in so you are not disappointed when you get your room since the hotel is not consistent on which room have washlets.
- 1/5
When I arrived San Francisco was experiencing a power outage. The hotel refused to allow me to park my car and there was plenty of room. The hotel refused to allow me to wait in the lobby. I had to sit in my car in an unsafe area! Will never stay at the Nikko again!
- 5/5
Lovely staff and well kept property. Highly recommend for its proximity.
- 5/5
Friendly reception person, which thankfully is always the case here!
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 5/5
Excellent customer service from front desk. bell staff. valet parking, and restaurants. Spotless cleanliness.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was incredible
- 2/5
No longer 5 stars. Why should I pay the resort fee when: Pool closed, Jacuzzi closed, steam room and sauna closed? I chose this hotel for these features. And the backup generators enabled an elevator to run during a power outage but they told my girlfriend to wait in the lobby until the power was restored?
- 1/5
San Francisco had a power outage. The hotel was dark when we checked in. The power came on before bedtime but by morning the hotel had no hot water (no showers). We asked for a refund but they couldn't because the room had been charged to Expedia. So, Expedia we expect a refund from your company.
- 5/5
Great service, great location, great hotel.
- 1/5
I was happy they let my dog stay
- 5/5
Clean rooms, great location and welcoming staff
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful and the staff was all very helpful and friendly. It was also very quiet! There were no loud voices heard through walls or in hallways. My only complaint is the cost of parking! $85 per night + $39 surcharge! I know SF parking charges are ridiculous, but that's insane!
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
The hotel staff are great, our thermostat set point was 67 degrees which is way too hot to sleep in and they immediately fixed the problem. The bed was uncomfortable tho.
- 4/5
Good location and helpful concierge
- 4/5
Room was clean but my concern was the restaurant. I had two meals there and the meals were less than average and a charge of 20% gratuity did not help as well.
- 5/5
Vallet staff was super helpful and nice, along with baggage help and front desk. Was my first time staying at Nikko, overall great stay, super happy.
- 1/5
Next, the mattress was as hard as sleeping on a park bench. To add insult to injury, The meeting consisted of an integrated top sheet, a paper thin down in blanket and a bottom sheet. I had to ride the thermostat every fifteen minutes ad got no sleep! I spent $500.00 on a 300sq foot room, no thick comforter for a blanket, no continental breakfast and compelled parking? Never again! I did love the night time view but I didn’t enjoy my luxury stay!!! I blame YOUR APP! You failed to include hidden fees of the hidden mandatory valet fees! parking. I stayed at 4 star holes that rated four stars!!!
- 3/5
We have loved this place. We go for the hot tub. Heated pool it was not open and we needed it but we were not told wjen booking. Also the nice bar was turned into the breakfast area and we couldnt get a late night drink after returning from dinner. Disapponting stay this time. Woukd rather have bern wt the beacon or st francis for conveniece.
- 5/5
Great rooms
- 5/5
Hotel Nikko was one of the best I have ever stayed in while traveling in San Francisco. The location, friendly staff, beautiful decor, clean rooms with bathrooms that include heated seats and safety measures will have me returning next time.
- 5/5
I need to speak to a representative because I was charged $39.99 for two nights by hotel.com and I would like to have it refunded back to my credit card because I was unaware of those fees
- 5/5
Very clean friendly staff and safe hotel

- 5/5
Great service and very clean, good vibe.
- 5/5
Staff helpful, room clean
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean, and spacious room. Convenient location and great amenities, the complimentary breakfast that came with our suite reservation was appreciated!
- 5/5
Room was great. Staff was very friendly. Lounge was an added bonus.
- 5/5
Great service! Allowed us to check in 2 hour early as well as a late checkout!
- 4/5
Wonderful staff
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Spacious. Appreciate the water filling station on the floor. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Seriously best hotel in San Francisco. Love the decor and all of the creature comforts in the rooms. The buffet breakfast is expensive but it is simply outstanding. The $25 VIP hotel credit pays for about half a breakfast for one of the mornings. Hydration stations on every floor with the California metal water bottles so you never have to buy water. There is a spectacular Health club with an indoor pool and whirlpool bath. Also an outdoor terrace on the fifth floor. That’s very nice. A gym with equipment that’s a little too sophisticated for me. The rooms also come with a mini bar, refrigerator, separate shower, and bathtub, luxury toiletries, and an excellent bed. Wish the rooms were a little bigger so I could do my little calisthenics before bed but hey, that’s life in the big city. My go to a hotel in San Francisco. Unbelievably affordable for what it is.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
The entire hotel was fabulous!
- 5/5
Clean room! Staff was very friendly as usual. Great hotel to stay at. AC was a bit up and down, got hot/cold in the room- but I’d definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Check staff was wonderful!
- 4/5
Clean room, great staff, wish the tv options were better. But overall I had a great stay here. I will be back!
- 4/5
The hotels.com web page did not tell us thatbthe pool and gym were closed. We only found out by looking at the hotel's web page. Rhe hotel waived the resort fee at my request. I amonly inclined to stay there again if the resort is reopened.
- 4/5
only negative I have to say is finding a half full glass of water left by the tv in room 2030. obviously left by the previous guest.
- 4/5
Nice option compare to other known brands. Cleaner and better ambiance.
- 5/5
Nice time
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Best hotel in union square area!!!
- 5/5
The room was super clean and staff was very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
The staff was so courteous from the second we arrived by the Valet. The front desk was amazingly courteous and professional. The lobby and accommodations are outstanding. This is one of the nicest hotels as far as cleanliness, staff, accommodations, valet, area, etc. I give this hotel 5 STARS!!
- 4/5
There was an issue with the thermostat and the pool was not working but they had a solve to go across the street to the Hyatt. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Hotel is cleaned and quiet.
- 5/5
The room is awesome
- 5/5
It’s wonderful
- 5/5
Courteous staff
- 5/5
- 2/5
Strengthen WiFi. I couldn’t even check the weather, no Zoom access
- 5/5
This is a great place. I recommend a stay at Hotel Nikko!
- 5/5
Amazing
- 1/5
Along same corporate “ethics”, they are not really “pet friendly”, since the charge for pets is 65 dollars a day (so it should be named “willing to make a buck off your pet too”, even though the pet area was closed for renovation and that charge also undisclosed before I paid. The agent when I told them I think it’s fair to pay 65 for one day instead of two because of the above reasons, was professional smug, and informed me that fees were standard and there wasn’t much he could do about it. Cherry on the pie was when I tried to pick my very nice car up with my daughter, bags and dog, in a hurry, from valet that I was paying 85 a day for, they had taken my car hostage, because front desk told them there was a billing issue, even though my rooms had been prepaid, and they had already taken my limitless credit card for fees and incidentals. So about 500 a day for 2 rooms, 700 in fees and parking for two days, again for services not entirely available. Rooms were nice, facilities great. I used to love the high end Nikko brand, but oh my god, how the mighty have fallen. Oh, on top, while I was trying to liberate my car, two other dog owners said they had negotiated their dog fees to nothing. I guess the agent just didn’t like me.

- 5/5
Everything from staff to cleanliness to service at the Nikko is always consistently great. Within the hotel, at Feinstein's we would particularly like to commend manager, Erik Elo for his graciousness, helpfulness, and consideration when we have dined and been at the shows there. He is a very special person, attentive to so many details. We felt like we were treated like royalty!
- 1/5
The pool is under construction. The “city view” with the Petit Queen Room is not a city view. The “city view” is the view of the roof of the adjacent building and the office building across the street. Parking is $75 every 24 hours.
- 3/5
nice staff and helpful pool was closed too bad
- 5/5
All good
- 5/5
Clean room, convenient location, friendly people.
- 5/5
What free breakfast? I was not offered a free breakfast
- 4/5
Imperial Floor lounge food was average. Service was excellent.
- 4/5
Good location. On coming to room there was a plush stuffed dog on my daughter’s bed, which we thought was a very nice gesture until we saw the attached price tag of $22, an unbecoming money grab for a five star hotel, left a bad taste for the rest of the stay
- 5/5
Came later than planned and the front desk staff checked me in to a corner room after noticing there were double bookings somehow! What a nice upgrade and appreciated her doing that. I had to call Expedia and have them verify to cancel the other reservation. I lost my key a few times or left in the room and the front office staff were friendly. The bathroom was large and the Toto toilets were great. Didn’t use the restaurant or bar, but easily walked safely as a single woman traveler all around the area with great location to union square and market street trolley stop!
- 5/5
Such a nice hotel!
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Sadly pool closed and was a big reason we booked there. Was not aware.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect.
- 4/5
Nice rooms
- 2/5
I swim everyday from 17 years ago That is shocked. I saw just now your site still hold indoors swimming pools That is misleading
- 5/5
Beware- they put a fluffy stuffed dog called Buster on the bed, so the room is actually $35 higher than advertised. Evil genius who came up with that idea. My kid sleeps with it every night now…
- 4/5
Nice clean room, fresh towels. The only thing that I was missing was an open restaurant and a place to get coffe and tea in the evening.
- 1/5
Pool and hot tub were closed for construction but was not advertised or told on the listing. On top of that we couldn’t cast movies to the TVs, were told the system was down and would be replaced next week. For such an expensive room I expected better amenities
- 4/5
Additionally, the pool was under construction, and we weren’t informed in advance. Although the hotel offered an alternative option to use a nearby hotel’s pool, it wasn’t convenient for us, especially since we were still charged an amenities fee even though we couldn’t use the on-site facilities. Overall, the property itself was clean and quiet, but the lack of flexibility and communication made the experience less enjoyable than expected.
- 5/5
Overall a very nice hotel and good value
- 4/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms
- 5/5
Parking was easy, but only option was valet for around $80. Staff was user friendly.
- 5/5
Service was friendly and responded to text messaging fairly quickly. The light switch inside the door allows you to signal dnd or housekeeping and a colored light shows outside the door when chosen. No more door hang tags!! The one disappointing thing was regarding the room's television. There was no way to stream on the TV and the channels offered were limited. No way to watch Netflix or Prime at all, though wi fi was excellent.
- 2/5
The pool was under renovation and HIlton pool was not so great
- 5/5
The staff, cleanliness and amenities of this hotel were excellent
- 5/5
Location was great with walking distance to stores & restaurants
- 5/5
Phenomenal experience!
- 5/5
Staff was incredible! Service, polite, helpful. Hotel was lovely.
- 5/5
The Hotel Nikko exceeded my expectations on my recent business trip. From the moment I arrived, the hotel was serene and welcoming. The scenting experience in the lower lobby and the warm greeting from the front desk staff immediately set a positive tone. My spacious room offered a spectacular panoramic view and featured luxurious bedding, plush robes and slippers, and a beautiful marble shower. The Imperial Club floor experience was a wonderful highlight, providing an elevated level of comfort and convenience. The combination of thoughtful amenities and exceptional service made Hotel Nikko the perfect home base for my business travels. Highly recommend!
- 2/5
Breakfast and service was excellent. Room was horrible for the high price and the upgrade was ok but the bathroom flooded after we took a shower. Check in was bad never got the welcome beverage. Also even though I paid for breakfast for 2 rooms and 4 people they wanted to charge it again. All and all it was horrible
- 5/5
Great city view/ centrally located
- 5/5
Very well they have mocktails
- 5/5
We enjoyed drinks at the bar. The drinks were very tasty, however, I did not appreciate having to pay a mandatory tip AND service fee. This was a bit off putting, but not a huge issue. Our room was upgrade to the 23rd floor and we loved our VIP accommodations provided by Ernesto, when I arrived. He was extremely professional and also helped with several questions I had. Everyone who worked at the hotel was friendly and seemed to enjoy working there! I had an amazing 1 night stay, and wish it could have been longer! I will definitely be back again! Thank You Hotel Nikko SF
- 5/5
Very nice and clean and good stuff
- 5/5
Nice staff, decent area around the hotel, room was clean but pool/hot tub was under maintenance unfortunately. Would stay again
- 5/5
Great room
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
I was disappointed that the pool wasn't open and I didn't see a reference to that when I booked
- 5/5
Thank you!
- 5/5
Convenient location. Great dining and sightseeing!
- 5/5
Nikki was an amazing experience. All the way around -Excellent customer service.
- 5/5
Great property, good location in great service
- 5/5
Nice pool
- 5/5
My husband, daughter and I had a nice & comfortable 3 night stay at this modern hotel. Room was cleaned every day. The location was very convenient for us, but it's quite close to the Tenderloin district so one needs to be mindful walking around the area.
- 5/5
Staff was outstanding !!! A+ Service and with a smile !!!Room was clean and perfect for 2 people ,
- 5/5
Great hotel but a little dated. Location is so so.
- 4/5
First room they gave me was not clean. Bed, although made, had clearly been lain on (pillows out of place with hair on them). Went down and told reception and they sorted it and gave me a different room. Was a bit of a hassle after a very long flight when you just want to rest. Location is good and bad. If you turn one way out of the hotel you get to Union Square which is busy and relatively safe. If you turn the other way you’re immediately in a sketchy area on the edge of the Tenderloin. I got off the train from the airport and had to walk through the sketchy area to the hotel and it was honestly quite frightening. Probably wouldn’t stay here again because of this. Didn’t feel safe walking back to hotel at night so would have to take an Uber/Taxi.

- 5/5
Great all around
- 4/5
I love Hotel Nikko. I have stayed there many times. This is also not a Nikko issue; it is a city issue. But the tenderloin and Market Street areas are not what they used to be, and it takes away from a full, wonderful experience to have to make your way through the number of homeless and drug addicted people. Maybe the solution is working with other hotels or agencies in that zip code or codes, and the city to rebuild that area, incentivize new opportunities, but of course, take care of those that need help and support (mental health, drug abuse, financial, etc.)
- 5/5
Amazing staff! So helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our trip was excellent. Beautiful hotel and great pool.
- 5/5
Excellent stay! Loved the ambiance of the hotel and room! Restaurant choices could be more diverse but they looked nice. Several restaurant options outside the hotel, walking distance. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again!
- 5/5
Lovely room with Japanese toilet. Quite the treat. Breakfast great in the club lounge. Clean and quiet. Great experience. Would return
- 5/5
Always very comfortable, clean and safe.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 3/5
Parking: Pricey, but at least it's on-site and hassle-free. Room Setup: No work desk. For me, that’s a dealbreaker. Staff: Shoutout to Diane, Roland, and Melanio

- 5/5
Hotel is quiet, very close to Union Square. Easy to walk to most places from here. Room is small but still feels comfortable.
- 5/5
Our stay at the Nikko was very nice. Staff and accommodations were great!
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Great hotel, nice staff, very clean
- 5/5
Loved this hotel. Great location, very helpful staff. Just be aware that they will take a $750 barge from your bank card on arrival, however, that means you can charge food and drinks back to your room. The balance is settled on departure
- 5/5
Love this place is very clean, quiet and everybody was so attentive. I highly recommend this hotel. Great restaurants, walking distance and shopping distance. Most important very clean I didn’t see no homeless around.
- 5/5
The hotel is beyond gorgeous. Only thing we didn't like was the coffee maker and glasses/cups were too hidden.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 4/5
Rooms were a nice size, clean, overall nice experience. Elevators a little outdated perhaps, bottlenecks. Restaurant just okay.
- 5/5
Everything from the staff to the location was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Queen size bed was like double bed, water temperature took a lot of time to get warm, towels were smelling bad.
- 5/5
- 5/5
Nice Hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious. 30 minute walk to stadium and near Chinatown. I definitely recommend it and will stay there again.
- 5/5
Hotel is super clean! Well taken cared of hotel. Employees are very friendly and professional.
- 5/5
The bathroom was outdated but room and hotel overall fabulous. Delayed response from staff on text but friendly F2F.
- 4/5
The hotel was great but I did not expect the surrounding environment would be that bad and scary.
- 5/5
It was an amazing stay. The check in and the valet people were very kind and welcoming. We came for my husbands birthday and he also had an amazing time. It was a walking distance to Italy and China Town and a mall plaza. This hotel also had an amazing hangout spot where we could just relax with a fireplace. We were amazed and can’t wait to book the next time we come to SF. I would highly recommend to anyone who love the city life.
- 4/5
The pool is fantastic, the service was wonderful the only negative is that the rooms didn’t have a Bluetooth speaker and the bidet didn’t work. It would also be nice if they offered a shuttle or car service to and from the airport.
- 5/5
Pet friendly wonderful staff
- 5/5
Excellent staff, great location
- 5/5
I like the hotel, don’t get me wrong, is how bad San Francisco is right now
- 5/5
Lovely room and EXCEPTIONAL staff. Special thank you to Ju (sorry if I am spelling your name wrong)-he truly went the extra mile to help me pack my car with multiple bags (I stayed for a few weeks at the Nikko). He was so kind and truly went above and beyond. But really ALL the staff is fantastic. The housekeeping is impeccable. I am a picky guest and I really have no complaints.
- 5/5
Really nice hotel, good service and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with a very attentive staff. Really enjoyed our day.
- 5/5
Front desk was amazing
- 5/5
Very nice amenities, beautiful views & friendly staff. breakfast in the hotel was delicious & convenient but costly. you can go out & grab breakfast nearby to mitigate that.
- 4/5
Nice hotel, very fancy communal areas! Close to Union square.

Clean, quiet, large comfortable rooms. It’s so rare lately that I find every thing in the room (iron, ironing board, tea/coffee, etc) it was just simply nice to find everything I needed already there and in perfect working order.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, rideshare drop off and pick up points are excellent. Didnt try any amenities but only because we were out and about.

We stay here every time we visit the city. Good location within walking distance of everything. The street smell however gets tracked into the hotel. I suggest parking at the public parking lot the next block up. Parking is now $85.50 a night which was a shock considering it said $75 when we checked in but not what I was billed for. Also, it was only $65 when we stayed before.

The Hotel Nikko is our favorite hotel in SF. My wife and I stay once or twice a year. Five stars across the board. Thanks, y'all!

The staff at check in (thank you Michael) and the men outside doing valet and or concierge service were pleasant and always helpful. Can't wait to return.

The only potential negative is the neighborhood. Though nicely situated to Union Square and public transportation such as cable cars and muni, about a block in the other direction may be the start of the sketchiest part of the city— an area that was dirty and depressed with a very large, visible homeless population. My family never had an issue with this, but we made sure to stay clear. Nevertheless, I would gladly revisit the hotel.

Very nice hotel. Staff helped me when my Expedia reservation was not completed (my fault). They moved our room when the people next door were too loud. Breakfast was excellent.
