Reviews
Hotel Fusion is praised for its central location near Union Square and public transportation, as well as its clean and comfortable rooms. However, guests frequently mention issues with the size of the rooms, noise from neighboring rooms and the street, and the lack of amenities such as a functioning restaurant and bar.

The staff was great. The room was just ok. Carpet was stained and several places in the room sounded like you were going to fall through. The bathroom wasn’t very clean (found pubic hair and hair on floor and in shower).
- 4/5
The hotel is easy to spot and the lobby is nice and feels higher-end. I had a 2 twin room and it was TINY. Two adults would likely find it difficult to stay for any length of time as there's no freedom of movement due to the tight space. The bathroom was surprisingly large in comparison to the room with a good-sized shower. The air conditioner was pretty effective but very loud - earplugs are a must. For my room, my largest concern was that the window faced out to what seemed to be a limited access roof "alley" and it did not seem that there would be a way to escape if there were an emergency and exit through the door was not possible. I'm not certain whether I would stay again, but I wouldn't make a blanket recommendation against doing so, either.

It was a decent room, with a large bathroom, and had everything I needed; bed, desk, controllable climate, and 24/7 access. So for a functional, comfortable room to get a good night's sleep - it supplied just fine. Window overlooked the central alley/AC units and pigeon nests. Carpet, in and out of room, clearly needs replacing.

location it seemed a little run down. Carpets in hallway were stained. Rooms were dated

The location is amazing, in Union Square, so easily accessible and also a walkable district. The staff was super-accommodating- they even offered to change our room as our first room was rather small, which we took them up on! The decor is a bit kitschy but cute. The kitchen downstairs closed at 8:30pm, which is rather early for us NYers, but there's food all around so it wasn't difficult to find dinner.

I chose this location based on the proximity to the Moscone Center, but I was very pleased with my stay. The room was clean and comfortable, temperature was great with both a/c and ceiling fan, good cable channels, comfortable bed, free WiFi, and VERY PROMPT room service with good food. What won me over immediately was the staff - from checkin, I was greeted warmly and checked in quickly. I was tired and drove two hours so getting into my room in less than 5 minutes was great. I did not get her name, but the young lady at the front desk deserves a raise. I will definitely stay here again.

The room was very old and in terrible condition, with a moldy smell. The hotel is in a good location and the staff is nice, but the rooms are in awful condition old, smelly, and not up to the standard advertised on your website.
- 2/5
Great location. The rooms facing the inner court are exposed to a constant, day and night loud hum from the ventilation system. I am usually not that picky with sound, but I needed to wear earplugs every night, to be able to fall asleep. Unfortunately they were fully booked otherwise I would have even paid an upgrade myself, just to get a normal, silent room.
- 3/5
The desk in the room looked about as beat up and dirty as a college student’s or a very old library’s. Thankful my room had a mini split for AC

- 1/5
Musty scent everywhere in the hotel. Much of the guts of the hotel appear to be unupdated from the 70s or 2000s, but glossed over with a light update. Ac unit was tiny, couldnt cool enough so i was hot all night. Staff was nice. No lobby coffee and inroom coffee was not good. They dont even put powder creamer packets in room or anywhere in the hotel i could find. Shower was rusty and had soap scum in the grout lines. Just overall seemed like a dingy low budget motel except for the lobby. Every possible thing was cheapened out.

Small clean room, basic amenities. Relatively quiet. No problem but I didn't know they don't allow Uber Eats or food delivery to the room. It is left at the front desk. Would have liked someone to empty the trash and make the bed, check for linens needed. No one did. It's ok, only stayed two nights.

Liked that it had a bar right in the hotel. And was a great property especially for the price. Room was very nice as well. It's located on a one way street and the way we were guided in we had to drive right by it then go around a couple of blocks to get back to it.

Clean room. Friendly staff. Great location. Felt safe.
- 3.5/5
Bed was really uncomfortable and rooms were outdated and old worn out furniture / bedding
- 4.5/5
The hotel’s location was excellent, with easy access to Union Square, public transportation, and many restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable for a short stay. The bed feels so comfortable! I like it! The soundproofing was not very good, so noise could be heard quite easily. Housekeeping also knocked on the door around 8:30 in the morning, which was a bit disruptive.
- 5/5
We needed to find a place close to the ballpark for a quick overnight trip to San Francisco. This one was just a mile from Oracle and could absolutely not beat the price! We felt safe, it was a really quiet room facing the center of the building, so no view. The fitness facility was super clean and had everything I needed. Staff were great. The majority of the hotel is upgraded, but the room and air-conditioning is just a little dated. That didn’t bother us much.

- 2.5/5
Location worked with being an to walk to the convention center and some off site events Really outdated I mean old artwork carpet furniture bathroom etc. Which normally I can overlook but spending $2k for two nights is insane! And normally I could care a less about room size but this was a closet. A full size bed barely fit, one night stand and hardly any room to put your suitcase on the stand to unpack.
- 3/5
Great staff, good location and onsite bar and restaurant but the hotel rooms are old. And the prices they charge when you are in town for an event are laughable. They should at least use the money to improve the hotel rooms.
- 2.5/5
Windows don't open , I felt suffocated. I had a little anxiety myself. The elevator was a little bit unsettling too.

Gym & Room AC was great

we stayed in a room on the 3rd floor that was overlooking the street, we could here all the noise from the street (people yelling at night, police cars, trucks, ...) and that was disturbing our sleep.

The property is really nice. The ambience inside was lovely which reflects the hotels staff. $75 for the valet parking but it’s a lot easier than finding parking in the area. Just beware five blocks up the street was somewhat unsavory but I had no issues. Definitely a hotel I will be coming back to!

Room is okay, but the toilet does not flush well. Heater does not work. No microwave in the room. Very good location close to everything. Parking is very expensive ($74.00) there's cheaper parking nearby. They should avoid noise such as vacuuming the floor before 8:00 A.M. Front Desk staff are very helpful and cordial.

Everything in the hotel was excellent from the decorations and condition of the place and the staff was especially nice. The only complaints were the low water pressure in the shower and the neighborhood a couple blocks to the west. Access to the subway, cable cars and street cars way very very close by! I’d definitely stay there again if coming to SF and needing to stay near Market St.

Start with the negatives. The hotel is on the edge of the tenderloin district which has a horrific vagrancy problem, nothing the hotel can do about that. Room had an extractor fan or industrial aircon unit just outside window so constant 45dB noise 24/7. On the up side the hotel felt safe and secure, the room was clean and the bed was comfy. The staff were nice and happy to help. Location was convent for the BART, ballpark and cable cars

Breakfast not included contrary to description, street has a lot of homeless people and dim lighting which is sketchy, room is a bit damp and moldy, no view, can't really open window since it just faces inside court/other guest rooms, valet takes around 30ish minutes to get your car even without traffic on the street, room a lot more cramped than in photos.

First impressions are everything. When I checked in, the front desk guy didn’t acknowledge me (but was helping someone which is fine). Then he went to a lobby different from the main entrance and started chatting with someone who had been sitting there (which is fine). After about 5 minutes I realized he was chatting chatting LOL, and when I politely went to to that lobby and said “hello I’d like to check in” he seemed annoyed that I interrupted his conversation. Like he saw me at the counter with my bags and avoided me, started a whole conversation with a different guest, and has the nerve to be annoyed that I wanted to check in. L O L. And I thought maybe that’s just his personality, but he was smiling and laughing with the guest sitting in the lobby. And after checking in I asked where the elevators were and he was annoyed like I should know where it is. I usually don’t care, you can have the flattest affect with me, you do not have to be friendly or bubbly with me, but don’t be straight up rude.

Clean, quiet, well-managed, centrally located. Close to BART and subway, very easy to travel to from the airport on BART. Close to SF MoMA, to Trader Joe’s, and with a lot of good restaurants around. I felt safe as a single woman traveler. The staff is incredibly helpful. The only issue I had was the room I initially had was stuffy. Since the air conditioner is fixed in the only window in the room, I couldn’t open the window to get fresh air. I asked for a different room after three days and the staff was so helpful. I was moved to a room where I could open the window and get all the fresh air I needed. It was a wonderful five-dsy stay and I would book this place again.

- Very comfortable bed - Fairly large room, especially for the value. - Good location: actual Union Square, not the Tenderloin as many “Union Square” hotels advertise. Cons: Very dated in some ways: - They are still using magnetic key cards. Right after I checked in, the first thing I did was put one card in my Apple Wallet, and the other in my pocket next to my phone, which immediately demagnetized them both. This would be one of 3 times I got locked out during my 4-day stay. - The lighting seemed to be using original-generation CFL lightbulbs, so most (not all) of the room lights shone in a sickly blue color like a cheap motel (a personal peeve of mine). Their policy is that housekeeping only comes every 2 days, so I had to my own work for garbage and general cleanliness.

This hotel was very nice. Beds were comfortable. Could not hear other guests through walls which was nice. We were in a room with a single and full size bed and there was a small wall helping to separate the sleeping areas. There was a small fridge also.

Nice place to stay for a short stop over. The property itself is a bit rundown but overall the room was comfortable enough for us to rest up for a few days.

Hotel Fusion is very close to the Powell BART station, so we could easily get from San Fran airport to the hotel on public transportation. Also, the hotel is very close to the municipal bus lines, which made it convenient to get around town without a rental car.

Nice place to stay! It's an older hotel but in very good condition and the charm of old SF. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful A+. The location is super convenient to everything with a short walk. A block away from BART and public transportation. The area has some rough edges but also some luxury. I would definitely stay there again.

The AC was dripping water so during the night it made a dripping noise but other than that it’s was okay
- 1/5
Where do i start, other than the fact that its not a good hotel. Very dated!!!
- 5/5
Great staff but especially great bartender. We will definetly will be staying at your hotel next time we go to SF
- 4/5
Good and nice
- 4/5
It was a nice room there was two restaurants and a pool table an it was located in a nicer area but don’t go to far because the areas that are a few blocks away are very bad.
- 2/5
Great location rooms need way to compact and need to get upgraded
- 5/5
Very friendly atmosphere and staff, safe, walking distance to the Bart and all public transportation and very clean
- 4/5
The hotel itself is an older style but clean and comfortable with good linen and comfy bed. There was an issue with the wooden base of the bed being larger than the mattress resulting in us knocking into it a few times! Not pleasant in the middle of the night! The hotel location is great for downtown, union square and the cable cars.
- 4/5
Super helpful and understanding with the unforeseen changes in my trip. Great stay for a great price!
- 5/5
Great hotel for SF vacation. Very reasonable rates. Friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room. There is even a pool table in the lobby. Tons of stuff a short walk. Area around hotel felt as safe as anywhere in SF, just don’t wander into tenderloin district. Great location for public transit, train, trolly or bus all about a 3 minute, if that, walk. Didn’t use parking or restaurant so not sure on those. I will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Great location. Maybe get a lower floor room. Elevator is really slow.
- 5/5
Inside the hotel was nice. The lobby and bar are great. The room was small, but quaint and worked for three adults.
- 4/5
The hotel is very near a mass transit hub with BART, streetcar, bus and cable car access.

The ac in one room didn’t work and in the other room the shower and toilet didn’t work
- 3/5
The staff and lobby were great, but the room was outdated and warm.

We got into town a little early. Simone at the front desk was amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate my friend who had an injured ankle. I will be returning to this property in the future.
- 4/5
Hardworking courteous staff but unfortunately pretty dated once you get to the rooms, felt like I stepped back in time 60 years
- 4/5
this place is near to the market stree and I felt unsafe to be on the road after 8:00pm..
- 4/5
Staff are very helpful and super nice. Hotel is relativelyclean. Close to traintrolley and tram

Perfect for a weekend stay. Staff is friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The sculpture in the lobby was magnificent
- 5/5
Jesus at the front desk is amazing once he knew we were on iur honeymoon he went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable
- 5/5
I did not like that there was no microwave oven. Most hotels that I’ve stayed at had ovens, and not having one seems like an inconvenience.
- 3/5
Good location, little pricey for the room quality
- 5/5
Initially apprehensive about the area we picked to stay, but was pleasantly surprised! It was a gem, and we would go back.
- 4/5
It’s a good property, but a little old.

Great Job!
- 5/5
This place was amazing! Right next to Union square, and walking distance to just about everything. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Front door locks at night with key entry. Nice sitting areas, beautiful lobby. I would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Good place to stay for a night but rooms were small and area was a bit rough
- 4/5
Great location, very clean, affordable and great staff. This was 1/2 the cost of other hotels that were close by. Highly recommend for SF.
- 5/5
Very nice, comfortable hotel in a great location. I stayed here instead of over-priced SF hotels during a conference. BART is right next door making it easy to get anywhere. Food in the restaurant was very good. Hotel staff was warm and I appreciated the welcome bottle of wine.
- 5/5
Excellent services and convenient location- great place!

This is the first hotel that I have ever actually felt affection for. It is like something out a movie; one of a kind - a classic feel to it. It is charming and a bit unusual in a very pleasant way. There are two well-appointed bars staffed with relaxed, efficient & friendly bartenders wearing black, and a pool table out in the open where anyone can play a game without worrying who is watching. This hotel has a small comfortable lobby with interesting lighting. I enjoyed a live music duo one which was set up in the back bar, and a teeny tiny well-mannered dog accompanies one of the management staff about and will greet you if you ask it to. Desk staff relaxed and helpful. Be aware that rooms are very small, but have everything you need; very European; no waste at all. A clean, pleasant, quiet hotel. If you don't want to take the elevator, an old charming stairwell is well-carpeted with wooden bannisters and creaky stairs, like an old well-worn family home. This hotel appears to be creating a dining area on the second floor, which would be a great addition. This is where I will stay in SF in the future, any time. Can walk to Union Sq, downtown, Moscone easily. Highly recommend
- 5/5
Comfortable and quiet. Good price. Wish the bar was open earlier.
- 3/5
The hotel is not particularly modern and a bit rough around the edges. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't get any housekeeping at all which was frustrating. Toilet also blocked easily and lobby has a strange smell. Would have chosen to stay elsewhere had we known.
- 4/5
Thin walls but other than that the area is super convenient especially for the price and friendly staff!
- 5/5
Hotel Fusion is an excellent choice. I got it from Expedia at great price and was pleased.
- 5/5
We had a great experience at Hotel Fusion. It is in the best location, close to everything. Walkable restaurants. The rooms were small but adequate and clean. The front desk team were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Nice room, nice staff, clean and welcoming.
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful, my only concern is the last place I had my glasses was in the building and were never found.
- 2/5
Property was recently renovated but only the lobby area it seems. The rooms were small and bathroom was dirty. Was not happy with the cleanliness of the room.
- 5/5
If you’re a Hilton or Four Seasons type, this isn’t for you. The Fusion is clean, safe and just one block from the best of San Francisco. The staff is friendly and I’m glad I stayed there.
- 4/5
Convenient location, walking distance to lots of attractions! Other than older facility, nothing to complain about!
- 4/5
Good location and safe. Stafe were great. Rooms could do with an update and wifi was terrible. Overall good value for money for a central location.
- 5/5
The best brand stores are within walking distance. Of the minuses: there is no breakfast and our cards were re-flashed several times a day, because we couldn't use the elevator, the room wouldn't open, or the gym. But if you are very hungry, the hotel restaurant serves very tasty and quick food.
- 5/5
Though there are many dining options nearby, the neighborhood has a history of attracting homeless people, but not in the immediate area of Fusion.
- 5/5
The room was nice and bed was comfy. The hotel staff was super friendly and they combined my multiple reservations so that I didn't have to switch rooms after all.
- 4/5
Decent hotel, decent prices, well kept up. Pillows options are limited to comfort large so they are a bit high if you like flatter pillows. A bit or noise at times when people walk by our with the people away you as you can hear them walking if you don't have fans on.
- 5/5
Great stay, good price
- 4/5
I enjoyed staying at Fusion for 3 nights.
- 5/5
It was conveniently located near public transportation as well as hop on/hop off bus tours. The bar area had a very nice selection of cocktails and mocktails. Shopping is convenient as well and the selection of restaurants to choose from is vast
