This motel was totally not what I expected. In my opinion it needs some serious updating and remodeling.

The room was clean, parking was free in a garage, and staff were helpful.

Request a room on the backside of the hotel away from Lombard St. It can get noisy. Otherwise, it is conveniently located and having free parking is a pllus.

Check in was weird doing it with someone on a camera. Place is okay. Main reason I booked was the free parking. They have tried to make the hotel updated which is nice.

Great location. Too noisy. Checking out was via a computer in the lobby with a screen. I’m not sure if the person on the screen was someone in USA or in another country. There was a strong curry smell. Best was the free parking.

Some places really need maintenance (paint, restoring)

It was different speaking to a virtual front desk staff member. This took away the feel of being welcomed into a hotel. Although I had no issues, it did not feel as welcoming and I did have to repeat myself multiple times.

Parking is free, which is rare in the city. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great to have parking available at the hotel. The smell of the cleaning products used was too intense. My husband ended up with a sinus infection as he is allergic to almost all perfume fragrances. When we stayed there a month ago we did not have this issue.

Good location. Parking onsite is nice but very tight for larger cars. A little noisy on street side.

It’s an ok place for the price. No issues with parking, but the walls are thin, couldn’t sleep with the above people walking all night. Not a place for light sleepers.

The room was huge and the staff was great. They accommodated early check-in as well. Shops were very close walk. The website showed a sauna in photos but it has not been built yet. I wish there was a mirror in the area outside the bathroom and the light switches were a bit hard to find. We could hear the kids running above us pretty loudly. There were no dishes or utensils.

The location was quite central - at least convenient to get around by car. Parking was included and readily available. Comfortable beds (soft but good support), spacious rooms, spacious bathroom and decent water pressure. The windows were not soundproof and the road was kind of noisy even at night, which is expected given the price. Check-in was virtual (a call with a staff online), which felt weird, and they forgot to give us a receipt with our room number and the wifi password, so we had to ask separately.

It’s in a good location, 24 hour check is great and free parking . Only complaint I had was I wish the vending machines took card they only take cash.

For a non smoking facility people were smoking in there rooms. The smoke got into our room do to the gaps around the door. There was no stool to sit on in the handicapped shower. The virtual check in was not very good could not here the person due to the outside noise.

Had a quiet spacious king size deluxe room that faced the back. Probably would have been noisy if the room were on the front street side as Lombard is quite busy. Nice garden in the back. Lobby is small but lots of natural light with big picture windows. Small but convenient parking lot in the basement if you have a car. Got a mobile discount price.

Noisy and dirty room with old and decaying fixtures. We couldn't sleep because of bad stench in the room and noise from the road. Dirty carpets throughout the hotel. No one present at the lobby which had it's shutters down. No response after multiple rings as well. Would never use this place again. Not sure how it got it ratings and stars.

Location, value. and free parking were great. The outdoor garden area and sitting area with rooftop access were nice for our kiddo to have a spot to reset. Housekeeping was super friendly and helpful to get us extra pillows for sofa sleeper and replenish towels daily. The bathroom photo listed onsite is not accurate. I was told this was a photo image where it makes it look bigger, but no bathroom is big in size except handicap accessible rooms. We were on the first floor street side and traffic was super loud. We were grateful for trees outside our room for visual privacy, but the noise was a full day's adjustment and medication needed for our autism spectrum child. Be sure to ask for a higher floor, interior room if you want to sleep.

I enjoyed how close it was to so many things. It had such a lovely view and everything was clean. The parking is tight and it's first come first serve. The shower is such a tiny stall with an extremely high shower head that I'm not sure how you can properly clean yourself as a 5'2" human! All the staff were great but don't attempt to find anyone in the morning for assistance as the only person you can find is streaming in the kiosk next to the desk and can only check you in.

The only reason for my rating is the bed. The bed was absolutely awful. Beyond firm. I honestly felt I would have been better off sleeping on the floor. The pillows only provided so much relief. All that to say because of that, I slept awful. Otherwise, room was clean, property seemed nice just enough parking to park my truck.

Location was fine There is no front desk person/concierge. They have a kiosk connected to someone outsourced overseas. It was incredibly slow and ineffective. Service was 1/10.

This hotel has no bells or whistles so I won’t be commenting, but what made it wonderful was the staff.

I left a silver necklace on my bed in the morning. When we came back at night on Saturday the beds were made but unfortunately my necklace was gone.

Only in town for business for one night. Location is really great, there is free garage parking which we needed, and the reception staff was really nice. While the rooms are a little outdated and basic, they are exceptionally clean. The mattress is firm and we actually had one of the best sleeps there. Outlets, wifi all worked. Really great value and would totally stay here again. Great small Indonesian coffee shop one block away, and just a few walking blocks from Union St where there are restaurants and bars. Area also felt safe even at midnight. 1. Parking is first come first served. The spaces are also mostly compact; we had a Jeep Compass for reference. We were fortunate to grab one of the last spots when we checked in late! 2. Just be careful if you are using the stairs instead of the elevator (we only did because we were one flight up from reception lobby, not because there was any issue with elevator which was working fine). The stairs are carpeted with a pattern that sort of visually makes it hard to see the step. Wasn't an issue for us otherwise.

Love everything about this hotel, it’s not fancy but has everything you need and great amenities. You can tell they care about the property because they are constantly fixing and updating everything. Our family has been coming here forever and it’s our home base in SF. Love the garden and the rooftop area at every season.

The person checking in is not local (out of the country). It was time consuming as there is only one computer for everyone in the hotel. No available hotel personnel at all to answer questions. ~ bathroom tiles broken/loose; toilet bowl too low. ~Inside our room a side panel of a cabinet fell on the floor. Reported the incident through the same computer system. I was told it will be fixed yet no one came to fix it. The whole idea of just talking to a computer was very frustrating. It felt cold and unwelcoming. I would have not booked this hotel had I known that this is their system.

It’s an old hotel but it’s okay. Good location and the staff helped us with a problem on our room on my last day. There is a tourist bus stop just at the hotel door. You can go walking to nice places from there (pier and narrow lombard street)

Clean rooms, there's a cool place to hang out on the roof. Good walking distance to marina, fisherman's wharf or city center. Safe neighbourhood. Good value for money.

The check in and out process is through a video process with what I think was a human being.

The location is great! About a 30 minute walk to Fisherman's Warf, the bus is right outside the hotel. The room had one pull put sofa bed, two queen beds, and a regular couch. Clean. Free parking, it is a tight fit and first come first serve. We parked and didn't move until we checked out. The beds were pretty firm. If you like a firm mattress then this is good for you, for me it was way too hard.

We have stayed multiple times here and have been pleased with both it's location and amenities. This time however, the check in is a Kiosk with an AI (real?) person to assist. FORGET IT! Just an awful experience. I can't believe that they think people are going to OK with this. It created long lines. No one is quite sure what the heck to do or answer. PLEASE- bring back humans! Along with the fact that the hotel is starting to see signs of wear this was a mitigating factor that we will probably NOT be back again.

Rooms very old and in need of renovation. Decided not to stay there and went to a different hotel.

It seems a little run down. No microwave in the room. I didn't care for the computer check in situation. I had to put my ID on the glass several times.

Our room was not the best. We had to ask daily to get our room cleaned. The shower head had terrible pressure. The staff was nice. But for a family of 5, we will not be coming back ever.

Rooms were clean, bed was a bit firm though. Property was a little old but otherwise is decent condition. Our bathroom did have a loose tile that made the toilet off balance, but since we were barely there we didn’t notice. Lobby was a bit dated, but check in was fairly easy. Also MUNI being right out our door was a plus

This is a little hidden gem in San Francisco. We stayed one night and enjoyed the location, free parking, and the cleanliness of our room. It’s an older building but is well maintained and taken care of. Our king room was spacious and faced Lombard Street with a big bay window. There is a full sized refrigerator in the room that was a nice touch. The bed was comfy and had a mattress encasement. The garden in the back is a really cool place to sit and enjoy the warm weather we experienced on our stay. Overall I found the front desk to be very friendly and accommodating to our needs. I really appreciated their hospitality and would definitely stay here again. It’s a great value for a good location and a clean, friendly place to stay.

Aweful checkin, took forever. Parking was less than ideal with a wheelchair. Room was very old and musty. Fixtures and doors were not maintained well. Bathroom was clean. Only used for the restroom one time.

Very good hotel. Classic San Francisco layout. Don’t expect luxury. But the room was big enough, and SPOTLESS. The mattress was firm and comfortable. Housekeeping always pendant and very efficient. I arrived a little bit early and they checked me in with no problems at all. Great stay. Oh and parking included which it was a huge add on.

The room was impeccable, rates were reasonable, a bit of road nice but I slept well in the comfortable bed. It is an interesting, older building that was refurbished tastefully.

We have stayed here before, we had business at the Greek Consulate and we were able to walk there from the hotel. Nice to have secure parking. The only issue was that they didn't offer a microwave in the room, it shows in the listing that for $10 you could get a microwave which we requested but they weren't able to provide one.

This hotel is not worth $160/night, nor is it worth an 8 points... It is a very ran down old motel 6, with doors damaged, half a.s fixed bathroom, with painted over mold ceiling and walls. The carpet both in room and hallway was over a decade old... Very ran down... Not worth anything over $60/night and less than a 5 points

This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in the U.S. The cleanliness was very poor. I found a hair on the bedsheet, which was unacceptable.

Great Value on Lombard Street, down the hill from the crooked street. Good service, clean, blackout curtains help since Lombard Street is actually US 101 from Van Ness to Golden Gate Bridge, so busy. Great Motor Inn, free parking and WiFi, good restaurants near by, not far from the Marina District, and Marina Green park.

Very courteous staff and the hotel is in a great location. Centrally located to easily reach tourist places and a nice area for just walking. Perhaps a little dated in the rooms but really nice and we will be staying there again!

We were pleasantly surprised that our quite reasonably priced room was spacious, clean, and perhaps because it was not facing thee street was quite quiet. Now, our window view was another building 3-4' away but that was little sacrifice for the quietness. We had no difficulty parking in the garage area each of our 3 nights there, another huge plus!

I travel to SF 2x a month for work and have stayed in very nice hotels and humble hotels. My top priority is safety and cleanliness, of which this hotel has neither. Please please please do not stay here.

Property rated as 8.2. no way! Room we got had sink outside bathroom and you could touch all 4 walls inside bathroom without moving your feet. photos showed a couch, no room for one in our room. Not a single photo showed a room like ours was possible. I had Expedia on the fone to move hotel as not what was represented but it was already late at night and we had driven 12 hours to get there. Toughed it out. I was very worried about losing the parking spot as it was VERY VERY limited for the number of rooms and no nearby parking for any amount of money!.

The room was pretty spacious and clean. The ice maker on our floor wasn't working so we had to go to another floor for ice. Parking is tight and limited but we were happy to find a spot and used ride share so we didnt lose the space. They claimed there was a communal microwave but we got told otherwise when we asked to use one. It was an enjoyable stay.

Such a great property to stay at. We kept our vehicle safely parked for a couple of days while we checked out San Francisco. The virtual check in lady was so great, I wasn’t sure if she was AI at first and she had a good chuckle with me. We will stay here again when we come back.

Quiet and has outside area with view of Golden Gate Bridge. Free parking is a plus and walkable to pier 39.

We stayed here as a family of three for work and fun. There was a nice desk and chair for me to work on my laptop. Staff was very nice. Food and coffee options close by. Quiet area and felt safe. We really enjoyed our stay!

The traffic noise on the side of the building was loud there were several disturbances during the night in the hallways you can pretty much hear through the walls

Clean, quiet, helpful staff. I was able to walk (25 mins) to a business event near Fisherman's wharf and back each day. Also good for getting to the Marina area for walks. Old hotel but clean and good value.

For a budget stay, with secure free parking, I’m not sure what more you can ask for. Minutes from Marina District and a few blocks from Union St.

Rooms could have more comfortable seats or places to sit and rest. It's nothing fancy but very nice place to stay Highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

This is a nice hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean and safe. The roof top patio is nice. The parking situation is tricky but it’s free. I would stay again for sure.

We visited to the whole tourists thing in the area. Three adults and 4 kids age 10,8,7,and 6. We walked everywhere not having to get rides to go anywhere. Also, we took the bus tour and there is a stop right outside the front door of this place. Staff was all friendly and we will stay here the next time we go back!

Room was very clean and mattress was comfortable. The place could use some freshening as it is dated. Parking can be an issue as there are limited spaces. Also not a lot of late night options for food in the area. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and very clean rooms. The staff was outstanding and willing to assist if you asked. The free parking is what lead me to choose this Hotel. The room pictures was very correct.

The room smelled terrible - old Freon smell from either the fridge or the air conditioning unit. When the AC was on, the smell was blow around. The beds were very soft

Excellent location! Very friendly staff! The parking is tight but very doable and they are very accommodating with it. The garden and the rooftop are added bonuses. The rooms aren’t anything special but they are clean and comfortable. The hotel is very Sam Francisco and quaint. I enjoyed it very much.

The property was in a good location. It was safe and room was big. The property seems a little old, but it was ok. The bathroom was a bit small but but it has the necessary. As to parking there is little parking we chose not to take out our car to avoid losing our spot, and just ubered and walked.

Cheap and clean

We arrived at hotel is late. Trying to find a pace to eat, however, we walked a mile only saw few limited small cafes. We didn't want to drive because it only has limited parking space. Don't want to lost parking spot. And the bed isn't comfortable either.

I called the property to cancel due to illness three days before check in, Tessa said wait a day for expedia to reach out to us, she said she would cancel but it’s thru expedia so we have to wait, I called back the next day first to expedia then the property they put it off on one another. they denied our request to reschedule or cancel. Sheisty.

Cleanliness and availability attracted us to this place. I didn’t like the checkout however. Over the computer screen with some person working remotely sharing my information loudly over a computer screen.

Love this hotel! Close to everything, the room was huge and had a huge fridge. Shower pressure was nice and love the area!!!

Very good location to visit SF tourist areas while avoiding crowd. Local and hop on busses are right outside the hotel. Safeway is 15 min walk. The hotel itself is old and amenities quite dated, however room service is provided every day. Front desk staff are also very helpful.

This was a great location for our trip! We really enjoyed the rooftop patio, and with our room placement, we were able to watch the 4th of July fireworks without having to leave our room! We did have a little trouble with our key cards, but it wasn't a terrible inconvenience.

Quick family vacation

I chose a place with parking for 4th of July festivities. They did not have parking available. I found street parking and went into the room. Toenails and hair on the bed. Bed like concrete. No working wifi. Left immediately.

Sink leaked everywhere

We enjoyed the location and being able to walk to Ghirardelli Square and the Piers. Our suite was large and had nice amenities in the kitchenette.

The location of this hotel made it worth the stay. it's a few blocks from the Marina District with lots of dining and shopping. It's a little over a mile from Pier 39 and the Uber ride was quick to get there. There are 3-4 coffee shops easily walkable for breakfast. It is an older hotel with low water pressure and nothing fancy, but it is clean and serves its purpose nicely.

We go to SF a lot and always stay here. It’s central walking distance to a lot, clean, the best staff works there. Rooms are clean and large, love the rooftop and the garden.

Car parking was painful but the staff helped above and beyond to accomodate large vehicles. Would we stay again. Yes we certainly would.

After struggling to park in the handicapped parking, we were directed to move into a handicapped parking spot tougher because of the size of our car. It’s a bare minimum room accommodation with zero bells and whistles and our view faced a wall.

Absolutely terrible. The Hotel lost ALL power and we were told to just deal with it and offered zero compensation. Would not recommend it and will never stay here again.

Love this hotel so much!!! Everyone that works there is so accommodating and kind. The rooms are very spacious and love the huge fridge in the room. In a safe neighborhood close to everything.

I liked the location with easy access to buses and a short walk east or west for food and amenities. My room was quiet, everyone was friendly and who doesn’t cherish free parking?

I like that its walkable to pier 39, staff is always great and helpful.

The lady who checked me in was very helpful and very kind. She showed me how to get from the underground parking to the elevator and we chatted about things to do in the area. 10/10 for her customer service.

Onsite parking is very small not enough parking space. Check in clerk extremely friendly and helpful.

My mother and I stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip through california. Front desk staff were polite, helpful and timely. They have on site parking, but keep in mind there are limited spots. We arrived on a monday right at check in and there were plenty available. Secure and clean premises. We felt completely safe. The room was very nice and clean. Everything in working order, including coffee maker. Ours was room 207, overlooking the street. It does get very noisey, but we preffered that, and drowned out most of it with the A/C unit. Its only a short jog to tons of restaurants, the trolley path, and the piers. I highly emjoyed and recommend their 3rd floor patio area overlooking the city and view of the golden gate bridge. Thank you for a great experience!

Parking is terrible, beds are as hard as a rock, bathroom had a leakage in ceiling, window couldn't close, sheets were very old, checkout kiosk didnt work properly.

This was not a luxurious hotel by any means but it was serviceable.

The staff were polite and accommodating to the best of their ability. The room I had was on the 1st floor and facing the street, I heard every car, truck, emergency vehicle and conversation that went by. If you’re a light sleeper you should ask for a room towards the back when booking. The curtains in my room for not completely close on the ends so you could see up into the room from the street ( yes I went outside and looked) so I had to pin the curtain to the wall. Other than that it was a nice clean room with a comfy bed in a good location. Parking is 1st come 1st serve so get there early.

Enjoyed our stay! The staff are all kind and helpful. We enjoyed the sitting area on the 3rd floor near our room as well as the outdoor terrace. Our room was clean. We had a refrigerator but not a microwave. There was a coffee maker but we did not use it. They gave us a discount card for a coffee shop down the road which was cute and very good. The beds were quite firm which for me wasn’t the most comfortable but that just comes down to preference. I would definitely stay again.

overall a really convenient & comfortable hotel. parking is very tight if you’re not comfortable parking in tight quarters, but i didn’t have any issues.

We stayed in a suite. I chose this place because it came with parking included and price was very reasonable. The AC/Heater worked great, the water pressure was great, the rooms were cozy, clean and spacious, microwave was huge, the roof patio was very cool, and the customer service went above and beyond! I would definitely stay here again!

Rooms are ok but the sheets and pillows smell awful.
