Clean room, staffs are fine, the location of the property is not that great, otherwise good.
- 1/5
Very dirty and loud. You hear every word in neighboring rooms. You will not get a quilt/comforter. Just two sheets. I couldn’t get the heat or air to work. Free parking is a plus. The neighbors and homeless use this small parking lot to cut the block. I wouldn’t leave valuables for n plain view. It’s a 25 min walk to oracle which is a plus but it’s not an enjoyable walk with all the homeless. They demand you give them a verbal credit card number for deposit in case you break stuff. They don’t swipe your card. Thst made me nervous and I also it left. The staff got angry and raised his voice over me not wanting to give him my card to write down. They do not keep a terminal on the counter to swipe. Shady practice and place.
- 4/5
The room etc was fine, it just wasn't "Excellent" ... and truly the only 'complaint' I would have is that where a chain lock used to be there was a screw and a small hole and some dental floss hanging off the screw.
- 4/5
Only comes complaint is the outlets on the table top lamps did not work. I plugged in my phone to charge it and it died in the middle of the night.
- 4.5/5
The location was great. The mission and downtown were close by.
- 2.5/5
They have the best shower. Also the parking lot was convenient. Cobby, in frontdes, was very helpful in giving directions or advice about the area. The building is the old American cheap hotel with paper thin walls that one can hear the other rooms' conversations. Very old building with very old paint.

I had to move to another room cuz the one I had was in bad shape. A someone broom window a stole a customers belongings. If it wasn’t for the moring clerk a the cleaning lady, I wud b furious. I really believe I deserve a refund or sum compensation for a bad hotel. Needs major upkeep an was very disappointed in the hotel overall. Was way to expensive for the area a for me. The noice an homeless yelling outside very uncomfortable Sincerely Susie Davis The morning clerk an Ilse the cleaning lady

Room was spacious and clean. There was free parking but limited spaces. You do have to leave a $150 deposit down for incidentals which was not listed on Expedia. The area is walkable. It’s close to the piers, Oracle Park and the freeway. Other than other tenants being loud at night everything else was good.

Free parking and close to where we needed to go. I had asked the guy if it’s noisy at night and he said no. But then was up all night to people yelling outside the rooms. The shower head sprayed me in the face and flooded the room. Outlets didn’t work so I couldn’t charge my cell phone.

There is free parking (a major perk in SF). The property is older and a bit run-down. The walls are thin, you can hear the people walking upstairs, and what they are watching. But on the other hand, it's cheap, which is what I needed.

Gritty area, but not too bad considering it is San Francisco. There is a Whole Foods within walking distance. The rooms do not allow you to open the windows, so its gets very stuffy and my clothes had a horrible cleaning product smell after I left. No vending machine or water fountain. I would not stay there again.

The room was ok, it worked for what I was ultimately coming up there to do, and that's just be a place where I can ultimately have some space and lay my head down at. The price was reasonable, I could hear my neighbors working making more humans while I was there. Maybe some sound insulation would be great to add into the rooms so guests won't have to be exposed to what the other guests are doing? Because, yikes. I would have not liked for that to be a memory for me to recall. Outside of all the items I just listed, this location isn't the best, and it isn't the worse. To be fair they have maintenance crew that do their job and the front desk staff was very helpful and professional.

Pretty basic stuff. Staff was really friendly and helpful. It's a motel, so it's open to the outside and it was loud overnight, both with foot traffic and street noise. We didn't have a car, but parking would be a nightmare here, our Uber had a hard time getting in. The room was clean though and it appeared to be in good repair.

The location is great. Its location in the South of Market area of San Francisco offers a nice balance of seediness if you desire and high tech with Electrify Americas flagship charging station less than a block away - but you wouldnt even notice it unless you needed to - you feel me? The world is advancing and so should the Patel family and the Bay Bridge Inn. For example, i have almost all cards in my Apple Wallet and tap and pay like a pro. Well the CalifornianDMV has recently launched a portal or website that officially allows us to keep our drivers license in our online wallet with claims that is a legitimate form if identification. Well the Bay Bridge Inn and the young man who checked me in definitely didnt get copied on that memo. I was very close to being told to go elsewhere by an obviously over worked clerked who showed little care for my need for a room that night unless i showed him a physical id as they needed to scan the barcode on the back. I suggested since i was a genius level guest with a lengthy history staying at the BBI, would he acceptb an email with my id photos attached and to give him credit he agreed. My point is maybe they could at least read the memo.

The room was good, nothing special. Why I’m giving it 2 stars is because there’s a lot of sus activity happening at this location. After coming back to the room I found a person peeking inside my friend’s car and turns out he was our neighbor. Then there’s the random homeless people hanging out in the parking lot.

The mini-split worked well, and although I was told there would be no coffee in the room but that instant was available in the office 24/7, I did wind up finding a plastic coffee machine in the room along with a blinking microwave, a mini-fridge, and a crooked TV on the wall which was charming and which I did not use. Everything about the property, but especially the near-chronic noise and nearby shouting, is what I didn’t like about the property.

Today, 9/19/2025 I reported the theft of a valuable journal and another document to the front office person, David. He told me he would look into the video footage. Honestly, I think it was an inside job. David has not updated me on my complaint. I’m looking for a full refund and compensation for what is to me very valuable property. Will it happen? We’ll see.

The staff was friendly, the neighborhood relatively close to things to do and places to eat. My main issue was that we had no housekeeping or trash removal during our stay. I had to get a remote for the TV as there wasn’t one in the room and it only worked for changing channels not volume. But other than that it was alright.

The location of this property is unsafe; there are many homeless people sitting in front of your door step, stair case and parking lot asking for food. Inside the hotel, is not cleaned, the mattress is really thin, very uncomfortable to sleep on. You have to hook up the hdmi cable to the tv if you wanted to watch a show. The room we had was very noisy due to plumbing issue with toilet, it lets out a loud roar every 10 mins. It sounds like someone is returning from the dead. Very scary and annoying.

Room cleanliness was decent I guess, front desk guy was nice and helpful, however, and it’s not much fault of the hotel, but the 10 or so people being extremely loud literally all night until we left the next morning at 8 was awful.

The property is convenient and straight forward. The parking is very tight, compact cars are recommended. There are not a lot of amenities. The blanket slightly smelled in small spots, and the towels looked dirty but did not smell. Good for a short stay and if you're only there for a place to sleep.

Super thin walls, not easy to sleep, and the tv didn't work. Parking is limited, and difficult

Good experience. Quite. I would stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay here while visiting SF. Well managed for a small hotel rooms are clean. And parking is directly outside your window I don’t even think homeowners have that perk

Clean room. Quite area. Short walk to live theatre district. I would stay at hotel again.

Great hotel in Soma

What happens at the BBI stays at the BBI

As always it's a good place to stay close to everything and there's free parking. Keep in mind that there are only 11 parking spaces and 22 rooms. Therefore it's a first come first serve. But it's free !!!

My car was broken into on my third night there. And I have stayed there many times and many of the rooms don’t have chain locks on the doors. Also many of the rooms are missing light bulbs in the lighting fixtures. Almost everytime I stay someone from outside knocks on my door in the middle of the night. And the staff were kinda meh!!!

nice place. Nice staff. The location is good. It’s just that the location for homeless people walking through is a bit much. The guy in the room above is on his 9th shower. He’s constantly moving around it’s 2am. Just the vibe is off. I suggest another place

Friendly staff. Close to my work

The Bay Bridge Inn was a lovely place to visit and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately the walls seemed to be a bit thin as outside noise was easy to hear. But it being secluded gave it a lovely charm and the on site parking was greatly appreciated. The room was clean and had a much needed heater after a long night in the cold San Francisco air. I would definitely return in the future if and when I return to the San Francisco area.

It is what it is - a one star hotel near union sq.

Ok. Very noisy but completely understandable

It is very cruisey but at the same time feel a little bit uneasy,

Did not mind staying at their place at all. Would stay here again.

Is very clean and very nice make feel like our home thanks

The property is very conveniently located in downtown San Francisco for sightseeing and the Golden State Warriors game. The hotel is older and not remodeled but clean. The major downside to the property were the double beds were bad. It was reasonably priced which compensated for some of its shortcomings. Rated average.

Great location in Price but very noisy when you’re trying to sleep, but nothing you can’t handle.

Bad. The tv didn’t work. I went to the lobby and told them about the remote control not working. They changed the batteries and the tv still didn’t work!

The door to the property looked like it had been broken through and the doorframe looked out of wack. Looks like a not so handy-man tried to fix this!! Never staying there again,

As always this is my first choice to stay ... it's a clean and reasonably priced motel that's conveniently located right off the 5th st exit from the bay bridge. Friendly and helpful staff, housekeeping is always friendly abd willing to help ...

Chain lock was broke tv had no signal, bedding was dirty. Felt unsafe to rest

Great place to stay
- 2/5
The bed had to be 20 years old - we could feel every spring in the mattress and there was no comforter or blankets. The tv barely worked. Two blocks down is where all the homeless people live - although they do their own thing and didn’t seem to bother anyone, I would NOT want to walk anywhere around the hotel.

The Bay Bridge Inn is conveniently located at the immediate vicinity of the Bay Bridge. Sufficient parking is also provided, though is not 1:1 per room. Some or most of the rooms have been remodelled and look as they do in the photos published in their marketing collaterals.

It was to recover from an hospital stay

Busy. Noisy. Someone screaming in the parking lot over a domestic dispute.
- 4/5
We stay here whenever we have an event at the Oracle Park. We trust it, we know what to expect. While it is not luxurious, it is a 20 minute walk to Oracle, and safe. we only need to spend a night, and they have free parking.
- 5/5
It's a reasonably priced place and free parking . Not to mention the staff are friendly, helpful and available when you need something. The head housekeeping staff person is a really friendly person and always helpful

It was a last minute decision. That led me to stay for 2 nights ... I just really enjoy being in SF and staying at the BBI Bay Bridge Inn makes it that much better ... it's a low key casual comfortable spot to stay
