We didn’t stay here after we booked it. Drove to check in. Didn’t feel like it was a safe area. Downtown area is sketchy at night.

Great location near to everything. The air conditioner was a lattel loud but it's ok.

The room and hotel itself was really nice and clean! Everything was up to date and nicely designed. Our room was spacious and honestly better than expected! The only thing that could be better is the parking. That parking garage is TIGHT! We drive a ford explorer and it was stressful getting in and out of there! Outside of that it was perfect!

Plenty to do around town and relatives to visit with but not so much at the hotel, loading and unloading on the sidewalk not so convenient, said parking available true but didn’t say was $40/night!! Staff was excellent, helpful and polite, all and all was a good trip!!!

Convenient hotel in downtown area. Great location. Very modern,however they need to do better with cleaning because the prior guest left their food in the microwave and long hair in shower.

The kitchen setup was especially helpful on nights when we wanted to prepare a simple meal, which made our stay even more comfortable. Breakfast was also a great bonus, with different selections offered every day, big shout out to Filipina in the breakfast staff. She is very helpful to us. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and exceptional hospitality.

Ok breakfast but not huge amount of fresh fruit. Room was good size, most of what needed for kitchen utensils were there although kettle would have been useful. Nice quiet room. Good location. Communication in run up to stay was not great as I messaged several times and they didn't come back to me. But once there, all was good. Not much food choice in the little on site shop and 7Eleven nearby also not great in terms of any fresh produce so just be aware of this but had basics.

location elevator was too slow, it was better going to the stairs, but with luggage can be a little bit difficult. Also at night something charge me on my TC, no notice I I need to go to reception the checkout day to see what's happens (now it is ok)

I arrived late at the hotel after a long and exhausting day, hoping to rest and recharge my energy for a flight the following morning. It was impossible for me to get any rest. The mattress is terrible—extremely uncomfortable and offering absolutely no adequate back support; sleeping on it was simply impossible. I moved to the sofa to sleep, but that, too, proved impossible; it was both extremely uncomfortable and too small. Furthermore, all the traffic noise from outside could be heard inside the room. The breakfast offers very few options, and the dining area is dirty and far too small to accommodate all the guests arriving for breakfast. Breakfast service begins quite late; in my opinion, they should start serving earlier to accommodate guests who need to leave early, thereby providing a wider time window for all guests to have breakfast. I do not recommend this hotel, and I would not stay there again.

The bar was closed .. the court was good and would have been. Great place to hang out of the bat was open. Parking was terrible. Had to leave under ground parking lot and head out to the street to go into the entrance of the hotel. It was very confusing. It wasn’t really well marked and we had a hard time getting out of the garage.

The greatest inconvenience was the parking garage. It’s tolerable, though. The parking spaces were tight. It feels so strange to park two buildings over and go trudging through a restaurant with your suitcases. Just so strange but we got used to it. I’d definitely stay here again. The price was reasonable for the full kitchenette. That was so nice and convenient! Love San Diego!

Excellent location, close to the port and the airport and walking distance to restaurants and local attractions. Staff qas very friendly. They even got me an upgrade when we checked in and had my room ready at 9 am without and extra charge. Room had a full kitchen and the hotel free breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel!

The streets close to the hotel are full with homeless people. When you walk to Gaslamp Quarter especially during the night you are afraid as a woman.

Also, the bar was closed, even though the website showed it open, and a tent card was on the dresser showing open hours. The breakfast buffet ran out of hot food. This stay was not worthy of the Marriott name, and I'm super disappointed. I ended up checking out two days early even though I had pre paid.

Room is okay,it has dining table with 4 chairs. Small kitchen is a plus, the pillows are flat and only 3 per bed. The sheets on our bed have a hole. The breakfast is okay but limited seating, they have 2 staff that replenish the foids but they can't keep up.

Clean, safe, everything we needed. Bar and restaurant were closed. These amenities were why we chose this particular spot. Went to bed hungry:(

I stayed in a single hotel room for my Society for Neuroscience trip. For under $200 per night, I was surprised to find how clean it was. The bed felt nice, the air conditioning felt great, and my sheets and towels were cleaned every couple of days. I also enjoyed making mini waffles in the morning for my complimentary breakfast. I warn you that the washing machines and dryers are coin-operated and do not accept cards, so prepare some quarters ahead of time. My only other gripe with the hotel is that you cannot enable game mode on the TV. If you want to connect a game console such as the Switch, the picture will be delayed. Otherwise, the staff was accommodating, and I enjoyed my stay there.

The lobby water was amazing. I don’t know if it was the temperature or what, but make sure you get some. The free breakfast was good and perfect for a quick snack before heading out for the day. I also stopped by the bar downstairs. It was quiet, but the bartender was wonderful and very helpful. I’m surprised more people don’t go in there.

The manager is always so nice and welcoming she is amazing, the staff is always nice and accommodating, the free breakfast buffet is good wish people had manners when getting food. The bar was finally open they should offer food. The rooms do need better phone chargers the outlets never work. Otherwise no issue's

The hotel is really nice. However, it would’ve been nice for someone to come into the room and fix it. We had a lot of trash,while we stayed there even though I only stayed there for two nights. Also, they don’t tell you this when you book but they charge for parking.

The parking situation is not great - there is no parking that does not require a person to walk up/down stairs, which is not easy with suitcases; the spaces and drive lanes are all super tight. Our room was not clean/made-up. There were stains on the walls, recent stickiness, no conditioner, only half a roll of toilet paper and the carpet was torn and dirty. When I advised the staff they said, well, housekeeping only comes every other day. They said they would look into it and maybe issue me some additional Marriott points, but those were not received. Breakfast was not great either.

Had reserved 2 rooms and the property claimed only 1 was reserved but they did have a room available. They argued that my paperwork showed 1 room for 2 nights. After a long day behind us it was not a good check in.

Comfortable rooms. Couldn't recommend the breakfast, but this hotel was well worth the stay.

Only con: our two queens bed room did not have any view. When we wanted to change our room, the receptionist said all the two queen bed rooms do not have any view, and only king sized rooms having a view.

Breakfast was great, hotel was very nice. Location was iffy.

The room was located underground, we did not know know that we would stay in a basement when we go on vacation

But once you get to the correct hotel its very nice and clean. The courtyard they have in the middle is very nice spot to relax and have fun

I dod not like the buffet options, the staff was helpful and friendly, the bar was good and the bartender was very friendly.

The breakfast buffet needs to have bacon or sausage. The options were limited and not very appetizing.

Breakfast was incredibly good. Location was convenient to everything, but a somewhat sketchy neighborhood.

Great staff , very clean spacious room. Parking is weird and I wish we would have tried the breakfast restaurant next door it was packed every day. Gas lamp is close but so is the freeway if you want a more relaxing time see the surroundings areas away from down town.

Hotel and staff were exceptional. The facilities were nice. I don’t like the fact you had to pay extra for parking and parking is not connected to the property. Also the area of town has a lot of panhandlers and homeless people. Can be uneasy at times when walking around town.

It was okay. It was walkable to everywhere. The place was a little outdated and felt crammed but other than that it was okay stay for just one night

I didn't like the setup. The hotel and the parking structure were not close. We had to walk a ways to get to the hotel lobby after we parked, and had it not been for a parking attendant I wouldn't have known what was going on. There was no carts available to help transport luggage from the parking structure to the hotel. Lastly, the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. When I reported it to the lobby attendant she told me none of them work. that means they're all been disconnected. I've not stayed in any hotel worth it's name that didn't have that device working when it was installed when the place was built. Makes no sense to me.

Free Wendy and helpful staff. My room as clean, comfortable bed. They also allowed me to check in 3 hrs earlier.

Staff was wonderful. The room also! Parking however is problematic. Extremely narrow spiral driveway up to third level. If you have a large vehicle do not go up parking ramp and talk to attendant about alternatives. Parking is NOT connected to hotel entrance. You must park then walk outside to enter hotel! This is our only negative.

We didn’t get the room we reserved. Reserved a king studio and got two queen beds instead. They did comp us the parking to offset but felt like I still paid more overall.

We booked two rooms for our family trip. It was great! Our rooms were side by side on the first floor. Breakfast is included which is a plus! Parking is available on site and there’s also public parking across from the hotel! Area is quiet and relatively safe.

The toiletries were empty, except the shampoo. The room had a musty, damp smell that did dissipate a bit after the AC was turned on. There was also left over food in the cabinets from previous occupants. We stayed for 2 nights, so it wasn't worth the hassle to ask them to remedy these things.

Make sure you don’t pay for parking. The parking lot is a joke. Barely fits a car, let alone an SUV. Overall, because of horrible parking, I don’t recommend.

Parking at the hotel is not feasible if you have a large SUV or full size truck. Paid for hotel parking but ended up having to pay to park in the lot across the street because even the four reserved spaces for trucks were too small. The lot options were limited to 2 hours, 10, or 24 which was inconvenient. Spoke to the front desk and they removed their fee from my bill. Great hotel overall, just in a sketchy neighborhood.

The courtyard is beatify and inviting, it’s unfortunate that the bar is closed Monday through Wednesday.

The property was fine, the staff was cordial. When we arrived we checked in and given a key, front desk did not let me know they chsnged iur room. We paid for a king studio but ended up in a double queen basically in the basement, because a Marriott member showed up early. She told us about the amenities on the ground level but failed to mention our room would be down there too. I feel that should have been told to me at check in.

Parking structure is located next to the hotel. Which is terrible for checking in, pictures are from the hotel near the pier and not the downtown location. Hotel floor smelled and very dim lighting in the garage.

The property is downtown, and the staff was professional and the rooms were clean.

We stayed here along with a toddler. We loved the stay. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was adequate.

Staying for 2 nights. The first night was terrible. lots of noise from next door even water running. Couldn’t sleep at all, after complaining about it to the front desk. Second night was ok

The negatives are parking and the odors. NO WHERE on my reservation does it state that you have to pay another $40 a night to park here. I have re-read and went over the contract of reservation multiple times and it is stated no where. Given the additional cost I would have stayed closer in town to Little Italy or the water. The other negative is the overwhelming smell of URINE. In the stairways and our room. It was heavily covered up by some fragrance. I called down as it was so bad and they lied and said the hotel was fully booked. I logged in and they had multiple rooms available on their site to book same day. We ended up buying glade plug ins at the CVS down the street and even then, the odor was terrible.

The not downside was that parking costs $35 but other than that my stay was great. Wonderful smell and clean room upon arrival. The bathroom was spotless. No noise at all. Recommended!!!

Parking situation was not great, for the price that I paid I was expecting a room to have cleaning service and that was not provided. Unfortunately, the property does not have its own pool so you are required to ask the hotel next-door to use their pool. Room was very clean. I am happy with that. I do feel like the front desk. Staff could be more helpful and professional.

It was very clean, very accommodating and the staff was very hospitable, definitely my go to place in San Diego but preferably away from pet friendly rooms

The breakfast had very limited options, but it was delicious and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location is great, especially in the morning and evening hours. However, I wouldn’t recommend families with children to walk around the area late at night. If you’re traveling alone, it’s not an issue. My only note is regarding the reception staff. While they were polite, I believe they could benefit from professional training or courses in customer service and front desk hospitality. Overall, my experience was very good, and I appreciate the stay.

The hotel was in a great location, with excellent customer service, clean and accessible facilities, and it was an ideal area to reach all the main tourist attractions in San Diego.

All Staff were the best!

Neat and clean property. Staff is helpful. However there is a shared parking structure next to the property owned by a third party and parking large SUVs is a bit inconvenient.

Enjoyed my stay at the property and was satisfied with amenities.

On the second day the maid service forgot our room. We were upset because we had spent the day at the zoo and just wanted a shower. We had no towels.

The hotel is very nice, the breakfast very simple and my complaint is that after our first night no one came to clean our room or change our towels, I had to go to reception the next day to ask them to please do it.

The room had a good size refrigerator, electric stove, microwave and coffee maker. The bedding was old but clean. The breakfast was the standard fare but good. The staff was helpful and very nice. I would stay there again.

Recommend this place. Just be cognizant that the parking in garage is tight.

We have stayed in two TownPlace Suites locations now and it's great to have a kitchen. This hotel was very clean and the location is great. The parking cost was reasonable for a downtown location and easy to use. The breakfast ends a little early, but it's nice to have. We had a great stay!

We used the kitchen in the morning for breakfast although the hotel provided a delicious breakfast. I went downstairs each morning for fresh fruit, juice and yogurt. At night, we used the kitchen’s microwave for popcorn. The full fridge came in handy for storing drinks, eggs and some snacks. We called the front desk when we ran out of conditioner one night. They sent a robot to bring it to us. That was pretty awesome. The kids were very impressed. I would say the only con was the parking. The garage is not connected to the hotel and only has a height of 6’5”. Our truck did not fit so we had to use the lot across the street.

The breakfast choices were not good. It was all carbs every day. One day was a biscuit and sausage. Suggestion: have more options and have plain scrambled eggs because not everyone enjoys spinach and eggs

We enjoyed our stay there. Beautiful room (suite with kitchen). We did not enjoy the extremely tight parking garage. The tight corners caught our side panel/ bumper upon entry. Be very slow and careful with a SUV. Our fault of course. Other than that we had a wonderful stay and the staff was excellent.

The staff was extremely helpful. Heather and Syria were amazing. They suggested places to see and eat. There was an issue with hair on a washcloth and the air conditioner was a bit loud. Otherwise we had a great time.
