Such an amazing view from our Surf Pad room! Staff very friendly and accommodating! Hotel was clean and our room was maintained daily. Will be back again!! The ocean breeze coming through our room was to die for!

Not sure I could say enough. A welcome drink, included towel, beach chairs, and bikes to borrow, a beautiful terrace with great views of the beach, room service from an amazing menu of the restaurant down stairs. The plunge pool was down, but I didn’t even mind that, given how good the other services were. It being right on PB you could go anywhere in the area for entertainment. Thanks to the staff there for great service!

First off, the staff is amazing. Extremely welcoming and was available for any need. I had booked the surf pad 6 months in advance. Somehow, there was an update with there system and our reservation got changed to a normal room. After calling to confirm the reservation and discuss the issue, without hesitation, they upgraded us to an ocean front suite. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was unforgettable. The complimentary champagne and welcome cocktails were just an extra touch that made it even more special. We cant wait for our next SD trip. We will absolutely be returning to the 23! That our trip was too short.

Nice clean hotel. Great location with easy access to restaurants and shopping. Right on the beach. One note ask for the room not to face the street as on the weekend can get noisy since it is right in the middle of everything. Otherwise great stay

Great beach, coffee shop, restaurants everything is close. The pool small and not working and no hot tub. Location great and room with Oceanview very nice. If you want location an excellent spot if you want amenities like a pool go somewhere else.

If you are looking for a beach vacation this is where you want to be. The sunsets are magical.

The view was sensational for sunset and the cocktail on arrival was an added bonus to enjoy on the balcony. The mini bar was very reasonably priced. We had dinner in the restaurant below and loved that we could order breakfast to our room if we were leaving early. Staff were very helpful for all our requests.

The location is absolutely amazing! We stayed in an oceanfront room, which came with an incredible view overlooking the Pacific beach. The room was also clean and convenient. The staff were very nice and helpful, and the JRDN restaurant was pretty good as well. The Wi-Fi in our room was not stable at all. There were many instances when the network was unavailable, not connected to the internet, or very weak.

the room was in good condition Restaurant doesn't open till 9 am. Some front desk staff were nice but unhelpful, others very good. Power was turned off from 10 pm to 6 am by power company which was annoying

The location was great and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The coffee maker was good! Tons of activity in the area with lots of food and shopping. No pool or hot tubs. But that’s ok because there is a lot to do in the area.

That said, the room itself was… not it for the price. The A/C unit was so loud that it vibrated the entire room, which made it hard to sleep comfortably. Location is great. Walk to boardwalk, beach, food, shopping. Hotel is friendly and clean and comfortable. Good staff. Would’ve been good to have a hot tub area or pool and maybe a convenience store inside the hotel …… water etc.

Honestly, the area itself has a college town and fitness vibe. It's not a bad thing just was not my scene. Some of the restaurants nearby have that party kind of vibe to it. If this is your thing, then it's a good place to visit. Unless you stay in the hotel all day, which by the way would be amazing since the food and drinks plus the room comfort, perfect for someone like me and my wife.

Did not like - clerk did not explain about wifi. Also, was not told about $35 a night valet parking fee.

I absolutely love the location, the aesthetic, the great restaurant downstairs and how friendly the staff is. I was so appreciative of the upgrade to an oceanfront view. We had the best trip ever and the best sleep of our lives. We kept the sliding door open our whole visit. It was heaven on earth! Thank you for such a memorable experience! There should be more ice machines and ideally a slightly larger in room refrigerator for a few personal items.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious, new and clean. The shower was excellent and the spa robes were comfy. The location and view were spectacular. Lots of amenities and restaurants within walking distance. The refrigerator is full of drinks for sale and no room for us to put our own food/drinks. The wi-fi wasn't great and there was weak internet signal in the room so connectivity was challenging.

Located right in the middle of Pacific Beach. So many places to eat just with a walk. Ocean is right outside. Valet parking was nice and everyone working was friendly. Our didn’t have a microwave though, minor inconvenience.

Had a nice time at Tower 23 hotel. I’ve been wanting to stay at this property for awhile now, and my husband and I decided to book for our wedding anniversary. Overall the experience was nice but I do felt the workers could have been a little more attentive. It’s in a great location and some of the service like the valet parking etc was really good. I paid for an upgraded room (a sanctuary suite) but it was super near to the plant room and we were woken up at 05:00 each morning by the plant switching on. It also had a weird outside space which seemed to be shared with the next door room. The reception staff were a mixed bag, some really friendly and helpful others not so much

The hotel location is perfect, close to the ocean, pier, shops and restaurants. It felt like a peaceful retreat with commendations from the staff. I would recommend this stay for anyone that visit San Diego.

Location is great and decor is really nice. I think it could be fun to have a group of friends book separate rooms and enjoy the shared roof deck. I don’t think it was targeted to me and my daughter with loud music playing outside, over-capacity minibar, trucker hats for sale, and mens smelling toiletries. I think it suits a certain clientele that we were not.

A hotel directly reflects the manager's vision, and Tower23 is managed by the best. Tower23 has professional, empowered employees who have really given us an amazing experience. It was so clean and so comfortable. The location is unbeatable, and the cost was reasonable. The oceanfront suite gave us everything we wanted for this 25th Anniversary vacation.

The only thing that sucked is the city worker/gardener started his leaf blower up at 6:30 AM every single morning we were there so yeah that sucked but other than that this place is awesome

We love this property! The staff is amazing!

Tower23 is probably one of the better hotels on the beach if that's what you are looking for. Its a trendy hotel with a nice outdoor area, great views and good restaurant/bar (although it did not open until 11am for breakfast - room service available from 8am). Overall ok but it was not what we were looking for as a family in San Diego and it was definitely overpriced. The Sanctuary Suite (216) shared an outdoor terrace with the room next door. You could see the ocean if you leaned out far enough! The room was relatively clean but there were hairs on the pull out couch bed and no linens or pillows for it in the room. The mini fridge did not work. The bathroom is tacky with a shower curtain for "privacy" and noise from the plumbing at 7am was terrible. The Pacific Beach area for us was also really disappointing. We moved up to a hotel in La Jolla with a pool and amenities which was much nicer and less expensive.

We stay at Tower23 every time we are in San Diego. Love the location and the hotel in general.

My girlfriend and I chose Tower23 for its surfside location. Overall the experience was good, with a few issues. On the plus side, staff friendliness and responsiveness is great. The hotel is very clean, except that water features (for swimming? It wasn't clear..) had sand at the bottom, and were not the pristine sort of blue a bather would appreciate. Our final bill was $74.60 in excess of the quote on Hotels.com, and this was mostly due to our request of a refrigerator and microwave oven ($10/day, each). Another big gotcha: on-site parking appears to be valet only, at $15/day. My girlfriend was less than impressed by the door partition of the bathroom to bedroom in our Surf Pad. It did not appear to lock in any fashion, and contained not fully opaque glass. Someone in the bedroom could see at least shadows behind it. This was an issue for my girlfriend when our microwave oven was delivered by staff. The hotel is overall very nice, but I tend to think that a stay at Tower 23 is at a premium only because of its location right on the beach.

From the time we entered the property, the staff has been nothing but the best!!! A all the way around and willing to help in every way. Our staying had a couple of hiccups non related to staying here and they were more than accommodating and welcoming to help us out!! Will deffinetly stay here again.

First, I spend weeks analyzing over hotel stays before finally booking one. It's a problem...thankfully, Tower23 was a great one. Exceptional hotel with an even better restaurant. Valet was especially affordable and they had plenty of hookups for our rented Tesla. Room was great...very quiet with a terrific patio that included great sightlines to the beach and Crystal Pier. Staff was especially friendly and helpful. We used the hotel bikes for a ride to La Jolla. ONLY complaint would be breakfast being available room service only and after 8am. But overall, just a terrific beachfront property in the most perfect location. We tried several other restaurants but kept coming back to the hotel restaurant, JRDN. The food and vibes were best in area.

This was a quick weekend getaway for my husband and I, it was fabulous and we will definitely stay here again!

During this trip, we stayed at four different properties, and this one was by far the best of all. The staff is welcoming and really efficient. The facilities are clean and convenient. It’s right in front of the ocean and very good for a walk. Reservation included breakfast, taken to the room by the time we asked for. The portions were gentle and it was tasty. Finally, during sunset we enjoyed a nice drink at the bar, which was a relaxing way to close the day. I’m sure we’ll be back on our next trip to SD.

Although we didn't partake, the minibar options were thoughtful and thorough.

Simple , clean and nice service!

Staff were very helpful & location was perfect to watch the sunsets.

Other than that though, our stay has been nice. We complimentary drinks at the bar and the bartender was very nice.

Great hotel right on Pacific Beach boardwalk and next to the pier. Rooms were great. Spacious. Breakfast was superb. Outside deck and fire pit was lovely. Staff was friendly. Great place. Will plan to return.

We asked for room to be refreshed at 10am yet by 3pm they hadn’t refreshed the room. It was like constant calling and constant following up with the staff which I feel like when I’m on vacation I shouldn’t have to do…..

Overall, great hotel with comfy bed and free bike and beach chair rentals. Unbeatable view from the deck chairs and onsite restaurant/bar, and great location - a hot tub/pool would have made this a 10/10. Sink in our bathroom backed up and leaked from pipe, but nothing major that the hotel couldn't easily fix.

location and view was amazing. We had multiple things wrong with our suite and received zero housekeeping during our 4 day stay because they told us they were short staffed.
